She nodded when the man told her the price she looked at her little bag of marks and frowned, until he said they were from a Gold's clutch. She wasn't naive but she didn't want to think ill of the trader so took him at his word, prepared to pay out for a Gold's egg "Alright, i'll take one" She wondered where exactly she was going to put it though and she was glad that Trine was warm, had it been Benden those eggs would have surely already perished. She thanked the man and held the egg close, looking around for N'mol, a slightly guilty look on her face. She HAD enough flits, but.. what was one more, she knew this was going to be her last though. She had enough to deal with for the time being.

Orlina"Scared?" Orlina's brow furrowed in confusion as she grabbed for another fish. "Of what?" When Orlina was shouted at, she froze and then turned to look at who was yelling. The older woman wasn't someone she recognized, but it was clear she had caught them doing something they weren't supposed to be. This was not unusual for Orlina, though she was always contrite about that (and though it never stopped her). "We're sorry! We didn't know we weren't supposed to," Orlina replied after Zarike had spoken his piece. Orlina looked contrite. "No need to get upset, we'll be right out!" Orlina looked at Zarike, her eyes far too wide to actually be innocent. They seemed to be encouraging Zarike to play along. "Come on, then. We're supposed to meet that rider about that thing anyway." ----- N'mol and TyethTyeth kept anear on Suunath's conversation with the other Gold after his own respectful greeting to Cepheith. Of course he didn't mind basking in the presence of two Golds, even though another Bronze was present. Plexith's rider had become something of a partner or rolemodel for N'mol and Plexith was a steady Bronze. There was also the unspoken agreement that they each had their own respective Golds and although conversation and posturing might go on, they were not going to step on each other's toes until it became absolutely necessary. N'mol did end up getting a bubbly pie-- after Kindra's cute faux pas he would have been hard put not to, even had he not intended to get one already-- but when a rider came up and distracted N'mol he found himself finishing it alone (unless Valkyrie counted, since she had shown up part-way through). Kindra had wandered off, not interested in the discussion N'mol was having, and so he tried to keep it short so he could pursue her. This was the first time where he felt he and Kindra were actually spending time as... well, friends, though he didn't really have many people he could use for that word. Kindra and Roscoe... and that was it. Therefore, he cut the conversation short with an apology and a promise to continue the discussion later and then went off in search of Kindra. The calls around the wrestling ring tried to draw his attention, but he stubbornly ignored it. Once he found Kindra, he could go. He didn't have to look far for her. He caught sight of her with a rather shady looking trader who, the moment N'mol's eyes met his, seemed suddenly eager to be off. Of course, judging from the item Kindra was now hugging to her body, N'mol assumed he'd already completed his business with the Goldrider. N'mol lengthened his strides, coming up behind her as she was looking around. "Kindra, what is that?" he asked, voice even. On his shoulder, Valkyrie chirred a welcome at Kindra. She liked anyone N'mol liked, both a blessing and a failing in the little Green. ----- CetaleseCetalese followed Eliza's gaze and paused, before nodding. "Sure. We can come back later." The girls made their way over to the ring and stood a few rows of people back, watching the fighting mostly to see who would win (or that was Cetalese's reason anyway; she couldn't say she was one much interested in bloodshed). Cetalese watched the first pair almost idly and then began skimming the faces in the crowd instead, first those she could see across the way and then those nearer to her. The man leaning against one of nearby vendor stalls-- one of the few "true" stalls-- caught her eye and she watched D'lin, a small smile coming to her face. It seemed everyone was going to turn out to watch.

Rhiannon Chandra Purchased a Flit egg of course... she thinks flits are cute.. and she couldn't resist XD Kindra blushed and had the good grace to look a little guilty. "He had them in a tray ... not even pots N'mol, just a wooden tray with sand, at least i saved this one. For once i'm glad i'm not back home, they'd have frozen already" she said, her tone light. She wasn't going to defend her action any further, she had no need to really. When Valkyrie chittered to Kindra, Fury crooned back, the Gold flit just as sweet as N'mol's Green... well she had the older female, green or not, as a role model since Kindra and N'mol were often together. Fury was slightly more reserved but not by much. Kindra smiled at the flitters, "See, Valkyrie thinks it was a good idea.... don't you Valkyrie" The way she spoke to the green was slightly higher pitched, not QUITE baby talk but close to it as she held out a hand and tickled the Green under her chin, keeping a secure hold on the egg. As long as she kept it close to her body it would be alright until she could find a pot. She could easily use sand right off the beach to fill it if she had to, it was hot enough.

Revel1984 >[ He was a crook. You're a very lucky girl. Valkyrie chirred helpfully and excitedly at Kindra, leaning into the caress, and then promptly took flight from N'mol's shoulder and attempted to land on the egg to keep it warm. She squeaked at the surface when it wouldn't let her and glanced up hopefully at N'mol. See? See what a good mommy I am? N'mol shook his head slightly at his addled Green. However, Kindra's wheedling had reminded him that she did like her pets. Like him, Kindra's friends were... few and far between. But they were working on that. "They probably aren't even real, if he's not bothering to warm them, or they'll be duds soon enough. I guess buying one was saving it, if it's a firelizard." N'mol eyed the egg, trying to determine if it was or not. It certainly seemed to be the right size, in any case, but that would be the idea. "We should get it something warm." N'mol smiled slightly. "I suppose if we bought another bubbly pie and stuck the egg in there people would think we were being wasteful. But there's some sand by the lakes and we can probably find a bowl or something to tide it over in the meantime. Let's make that our first stop and we can come back and see the rest of the Gather after that." Obviously, wrestling was an event he was just going to have to miss. This was more important at the moment.

Rhiannon Chandra Yep he was! .... It's Kindra.. she wouldn't have settled for anything less Kindra smiled at Valkyrie, she was a little worried when the green attempted to land on the egg so she brought her spare hand up to both help the green balance and protect the egg. Fury, still curled on her shoulder, giving a little chirrup as if to tell her to be careful. Kindra's eyes flashed up at N'mol when he suggested it might not be real "It feels real enough to me" she said, not quite snapping but less than the calm, easy tone she'd been using previously, it was more at the thought she might have been conned though. "I think i'll head back to the Weyr and get a pot for this little one, hopefully no one will mind if i borrow some of the Hatching Sands, they'll be hot enough to last til we get back from the gather i'm sure" she said. "I'll hop back on Suunath, it's only a short flight" they'd have to fly straight since she couldn't go Between with the egg in her hands. She saw him look towards the wrestling ring and softened a little. "Why don't you stay and watch them, i'll come find you there in just a little while?" she offered before moving off towards where Suunath was settled. "Another one Mine?" sighed the Gold, raising her head from her comfy spot. She gave Tyeth a small nuzzle before getting up, shaking sand off herself and moving to a spot where Kindra could get up on her. "Tyeth, could you please save my spot, it is rather comfy, i have to go take Mine to the weyr.... she got ANOTHER small creature" Her tone tolerant but slightly annoyed. It was obvious Suunath didn't think much of how much looking after baby flits needed, especially when Kindra had other things to do around the Weyr.

N'mol glanced at Kindra and just quirked a smile at her accurate guess of where his thoughts lay. He was a Wingleader... but deep down he was a 16-Turn-old man-boy too.
"All right. Find me when you get back. I won't go too far if the fights end before you return." N'mol watched her start to go before he turned his attention to the fights and began easing his way to a better vantage point. Thankfully, he was tall, which meant he was above the heads of many of those around him already.
Tyeth was inwardly filled with amusement at Suunath's announcement, but outwardly kept up an appearance of sympathy. I am certain it will be no more trouble than the others, since it will be about the same age. N'mol's can help look after it so Yours need not worry so. I will save your place, Suunath, do not worry. I await your return.

(Catching up I swear. xd Sorry for the weak replies TwT)
Z'fer
Z'fer bit back a hiss of pain as she pinned his leg. Shards and Shells he'd gladly kill every wher he saw for what that little s**t of a gold did to him. Her inexperienced grappling was annoying but at least it gave Z'fer the opening he needed to reverse the maneuver. Twisting out of her grip, he managed to roll out from underneath her. It was time to end this, for better or for worst, Z'fer threw himself into an attempt to pin her down. If he won he still had another match to go anyways.
He didn't know what he'd do if he had to wrestle Hekate for the win...
(3+2 modifiers = 5)
Dizzian
The match had been rough to watch. Carltis, Hekate's opponent was a terrifying person to look upon. He reminded her of the childhood stories of Holdless 'boogeymen' her mother would tell her in an effort to get the young girl to do her work. Courath found the pair first and touched her nose to Devith's shoulder, eyes whirling peacefully as she sent soothing thoughts his way. ~ Yours is right, losing now will only make her future victory that much sweeter. ~
"Are you ok?" Dizzian cast an anxious glance Z'fers way. It seemed his match was nearly done if not over with already. She hoped he wouldn't do anything stupid. The greenrider was still unsure of what to do or say to her friend. She'd never really been the best secret keeper. "Sure. Juice sounds like a good idea..."
Zarike
Zarike shrugged his shoulders at Orlina, her apologetic answer disappointed him but he figured she just wasn't as adventurous as he'd initially hoped. He then tilted his head, confused. What was this now? "What Rider?...Ohh yeah! That rider!" He grinned, catching on a few moments too late. His answer as about as 'innocent' sounding as hers had been. Splashing towards shore he looked over his shoulder at Orlina, once again pushing his drenched hair out of his face. "Race ya!"

Suunath made short work of the flight, waiting on the ledge to the Queen's Weyr while Kindra grabbed the pot that had held Fury's egg, Shortly they were on the hatching sands, Kindra scooping sand into it and placing the egg in before scooping a little more sand in. She'd had to use a bowl as the sands were very hot to touch.
"Are you finished Mine?" asked Suunath, clearly wanting to get back to the gather and back to her cosy spot next to Tyeth. "Soon my love, i need to go and put this in my chambers, and get a Drudge to keep the sands warm" she said, patting her dragon's neck gently. It earned a gentle whuff of breath from the Gold, scattering sand at Kindra.
When she'd placed the pot with the egg in her chambers and summoned the drudge she uncoiled the gold form from around her neck, as young as she was the Gold was very reliable, unlike the brown flit that scolded her from the rafters. Apparently she'd left him and hadn't been coming back.. Kindra chuckled at the Brown. "Fury" she addressed the Gold "I need you to stay here and keep an eye on the egg, if it starts hatching i need you to come and get me ok?" the Gold chirruped at her then curled on Kindra's bed, watching the egg. "Good girl Fury, i'll bring you something nice back.... you too Patches" she said as the Brown descended on her at the mention of treats. He hopped right down next to Fury and his demeanour was hopeful of good things, it made Kindra giggle. "OK i have to go now... remember, come get me if it starts to hatch" she said before moving off and mounting Suunath again.
"Finally.... i am blaming you if someone has stolen my spot" she grumped, she KNEW Tyeth would keep his promise and not let anyone else take her sandy space but she wanted to get back to the gather, it was more interesting than moping around the Weyr. "Yes Suunath... we're going.. we're going" she laughed. Suunath grumbled but spread her wings, this time going Between and making the short journey even shorter. She dropped Kindra near to the Wrestling,... or as near as she could without blasting sand at the people gathered. If N'mol didn't see Kindra, he'd have been sure to see where Suunath had gone.
Kindra smiled as N'mol appeared to be distracted by the wrestling. She moved quietly up behind him and looped her arm into his "I'm back, i do think it's a real one, Valkyrie was interested... and Fury was, even Patches came down to watch it when i promised a treat" she said, enjoying leaning against N'mol. It was comforting.

Orlina
Orlina chased Zarike out of the water without another look at the old woman and raced after him, Star following with trills that implied she didn't want to be left behind either.
"Wait up!"
Orlina laughed, shedding water from her saturated clothing as she ran. When they had rounded several corners and ended up out of her sight, Orlina drew to a stop, smiling and trying to shake water from herself.
"Whoops. Oh well. We'll just have to go back later. I don't see what the problem was if they were just going to catch them later anyway, but no sense in getting in trouble." Orlina squeezed out her hair as she chatted with Zarike. "Thanks for catching on with the rider thing. I have friends around here somewhere to introduce you to, but did you want to get some food first?"
The food tables were nearby. Orlina could smell pastries and the heavier, more fulfilling scent of wherry being roasted for later.
------
N'mol
The fight between Z'fer and Siata was intense. It was impossible to miss Suunath taking off, or her return later, but N'mol found himself assessing his fellow Wingleader and then recalling how often he saw Z'fer around the wiry atypical Weyrling who had wrestled in the first match. Though he was handling the mixed Weyr population with good grace, the existence of atypical dragons still rubbed N'mol the wrong way, as was to be expected. Though Benden was the only Weyr here who considered the existence of atypicals a drain on resources and a waste of time, it didn't change their views any. N'mol would have to have clear proof-- other than Kleos's ability to lead her wing, since that first Fall felt more self-led than anything-- that atypicals could be useful before he accepted that cracking open eggs that would die otherwise would be acceptable to him.
He looked around at the crowd around him. How many were atypical riders?
He felt a hand slide along his arm and looked down as Kindra linked arms with him. He smiled at her reappearance and rested his free hand on her arm. "I generally wouldn't consider Valkyrie a good judge of anything, but if they're all interested than maybe it is. I'm glad. What are you going to do with three, though? Feeding two is likely difficult enough; did you want a hand in the mornings once it hatches?"

At Dizzian's concern Hekate shot her friend a grin and a shrug. "Just a little dusted up, no actual harm done see." Hekate replied twisting this way and that to show that beyond some dusty patches that girl had taken no actual damage. "While being able to fight is good in the long run it pays a lot more in marks to know how to fall and get back up. I learned to tumble when I was first taught to dance so it comes fairly natural to me." She explained hoping to pacify her friend and her still somewhat on edge dragon.
Considering Courath's words Devith nodded continuing his low thrum. True. It seems the bronze two-legger is having just as difficult of a time. Perhaps we shall browse the many booths and see what wares ours will choose when he is done. Mine wishes to know how he fares in this match~ Devith crooned causing Hekate to turn to speak only to pause and wince as she caught sight of the blow to Z'fer's leg. No matter how much the bronzerider boasted she knew that leg still had to be tender and from the look on his face that had to have hurt.
"I'm sure he'll be fine Devith. He's a Wingleader after all." She replied giving her dragon a small smile as she rubbed his head knobs shrugging her shoulders.
Looking about a moment Hekate caught a number of eyes glancing her way as the red headed silver rider became rather self-aware of her dusty state. Very slowly she patted the dirt off herself taking care to straighten her tunic and adjust her weyrling knots with pride as she straightened up. Taking cue from his rider Devith was more then happy to pose and preen a little showing off his rappidly growing muscles and physic with pride. While Hekate enjoyed the stares she always questioned them, Devith however knew he deserved to be stared at.
Do we not deserve to be admired? Worry not Mine. Whatever ill reasons one may have for looking upon us we can easily address. There is nothing you and I cannot handle. The silver crooned dark and loving in his rider's mind as Hekate rested a gentle hand on his neck. While his assurance soothed her that didn't stop the pin prickling at the back of her neck.

Kindra chuckled at N'mol, "She's not a bad flit" defending the Green. "I'll do the same with three as i do with two, though i'm glad Fury is sensible, i do feel bad about needing the meat to feed them though, even though it's only a little" she frowned "Though there seem to have been a lot of flits appearing lately, perhaps a response to Thread... or the .. the takeovers.." she mused, her voice catching at the reminder on losing their home. She just didn't feel like she fitted in here, she was colder with the atypical riders than she should be, she was trying though.
"I wouldn't be opposed to your help N'mol, Fury will need feeding too, she's still small herself" she said, smiling at N'mol. She'd been thinking lately, Suunath was of an age almost where she would Rise soon and she was worried but today... well today she would just enjoy herself "So who won?" she said, gesturing the wrestling, glad that N'mol was also enjoying himself. He took a lot on, being Wingleader.. and pretty much acting Weyrleader-represent of Benden. It was getting harder to see him upset, she didn't want him upset or stressed,

N'mol
"The first match was over before we got here, but I'm not sure who's winning this one." N'mol looked back at the battle raging in the ring. "Z'fer's strong, but that girl has him on the ropes. She might win." She was definitely built more like a Smith than most women, that was certain. N'mol looked down at Kindra, almost a head shorter than he at this point, despite him being the younger. Well, people came in all sizes. Whoever the woman was fighting Z'fer, she was better to have as an ally than an enemy.
"All flits act like babies when it comes to feeding. Valkyrie still expects me to feed her most of the time. Only wild flits seem to fend for themselves, or the Bonded flits who act wild half of the time. I'll start stopping by in the morning before breakfast so we can feed all of them at the same time."
The shared feeding time would also give him the certainty of seeing Kindra. They usually ran into one another, but most days it was brief and it was almost always related to their fellow Benden riders, the relations between Benden and the other Weyrs, or other business.
N'mol squeezed Kindra's arm slightly. "Did you want to go see what the Crafters have to offer?"

Kindra nodded, not really interested in the wrestling but since N'mol was, she tried to make an effort and she supposed it wouldn't hurt to figure out how to pull some of these moves in case she was in another real fight.
"you mean half wild ones like Patches, he was older when i found him, do you remember that storm? ... when he was washed up after?" she said with a smile "Fury's much better behaved, i'm surprised he found me back home, and came with us here. I was sure he'd gone back to the wild" She wouldn't stop the brown if he wanted to leave but he seemed to prefer to be on his own, unless there was food in the offing.
She felt the arm squeeze as she was thinking about her flits and the new egg, looking forward to enjoying more time with N'mol, she'd never really managed to tell him how she felt but she supposed she would soon.. or maybe the choice would be taken out of her hands, well... that would wait til she wanted to think about it. She looked up at him and smiled "Sure, if you're done here?" she said, not wanting to drag him away if he really wanted to stay and watch, she was content to just stand there with him for the moment.

N'mol
N'mol nodded and they started to work their way carefully back through the crowd, with N'mol tossing smiles and 'excuse me's at the people they were easing past.
When they were clear of the mess-- the hole they left filled in quickly-- N'mol led Kindra down the first short row of vendor stalls. Having fled from Benden neither he nor Kindra would have much on them, but he was hoping that if she saw something she liked he would have enough to purchase it for her. Kindra was stubborn, tough, and defensive, but he knew losing Benden had hurt her as much as it had him, though she was Hold-born.
"I think the Gather's going to last all day. I imagine there will be a great deal of music and dancing come evening, once all of the events of the day are done." He glanced down at her and then at her formerly-injured leg. "I think your leg is well enough healed for that, don't you?" The smile he gave her to follow his words was all charm and friendly teasing and the comfort of familiarity.

"It looks like this could take a bit. I'm going to see if I can pick up some things I've been looking for." Hekate explained turning to her friend and giving Dizzian a smile. "If you and Courath want to come with you can though I think they might be starting one of the other contests next if your interested in watching." She added as Devith stretched a moment his wings shining in the light before the growling silver stepped up to his rider's side the pair padding into the crowds like a set of felines with their languid gait making sure to go slow enough their friends could catch up and be sheltered by the slight bubble Devith's presence caused.
Seeing the fight was over her the two flits who had accompanied her to the gather began to circle, her brown and silver chirruping happily at the young woman. Glancing up at them Hekate smile, but ordered Baron to wait calling her now adult silver Prince to land on her shoulder. It wouldn't due for the booth owner to see her younger flits. Then they'd know how much she needed the oil and would possibly charge her more, but one adult flit. . .She hoped would be enough. That and Prince could be quite the charmer when he wanted too. Lifting her hand up she scratched the lazy silver's eyeridges the little creature humming with joy against her hand as they sifted through the crowd and up to the booth they were looking for.
It was a little booth, one of two or three lined with dry herbs and pots. The herbs looked to be in good quality and the older woman her hands steady despite her age sat behind it grinding some herbs into a paste with a mortar and pestle.
You are planning Mine~ Devith crooned, not so much a question as a simple statement of approval as the silver watched with whirling eyes as Hekate approached the booth with a small smile making a show of sifting through the herbs and pots inspecting each one with care as Prince chirruped on her shoulder fawning at this and that, but too lazy to step off his owners shoulder and instead would wait until Hekate inspected something to peer at it as well.
"How much for the sweet smelling herbs? Oh and one of the larger oil pots as well?" Hekate asked with a sweet smile and a tilt of her head and the game was a foot.
