  Myridia walked out of her room and onto the road leading out to Dokusei, "Toby...where are you?" Tobren ran down the road back to Paysage huffing the entire way, "Mimi's going to kill me!"As the youth caught up to his elder sister the two smiled at one another before looking back to Paysage... "What about our friends we said we'd meet up with? And why are we leaving?!?" Tobren asked his sister. Myridia smiled gently, "I left a message for them at the Pokemon Center...and Natalie has fallen ill so we're going on to Gizelle, the Toxic Mistress."Tobren smiled and glanced over his shoulder as a set of twins passed by him, his eyes following a orange scarf and two electric types... ((Myridia left a message with Nurse Joy that she and Tobren were going on to Dokusei. xd ))

Naano giggled at her own embarrassment. "My apologies, I'm new at this". Her smiled broadened at the boy's reaction to his pokemon's forwardness."How impressive! Your Cacnea must be an amazing fighter. Well, I suppose we'll see." As the pokemon charged towards Fluff she attempted to dodge, but wasn't fast enough. She had obviously been injured greatly, but Naano had an idea. "Come on now Fluff! Use Giga Drain!" Green lights came oozing from Crow and immediately energized her Cottonee.

Ryan stared at Crow and sighed. All of the excess energy had been sucked out of the Pokemon. "Well, at least they're both at a regular pace now..." Crow had his back turned to Fluff. Ryan nodded. "Poison Jab!" he shouted. Crow turned around and, his right arm glowing purple, surprise-jabbed at Fluff.

As Fluff was poisoned, Naano called out to her Cottonee. "Use leech seed, then follow up with razor leaf!" As her pokemon planted the Cacnea, she smiled ruefully, but inside was quite nervous. Frankly, she had no idea what she was doing, and this boy looked like he had skill. But there was something else about him, something he had hidden away in that rock hard stare of his.
Momentarily looking away from the battle, she studied his face and reactions. Perhaps she could see something.

Beyond Ryan's blank stare, a flurry of emotions mixed together, the most prominent of which was anger. Beyond that, there was depression. But one had to look, one had to understand to see this, to see beyond his monotonous, blank stare.
Crow took the full blow, and he jumped backwards. He was harmed, but satisfied, since poison type moves were supereffective, the poison should be a little more damaging than normal...which would be brilliant. Crow jumped and scaled up a tree, settling on a branch. He stared down at Fluff, awaiting an order.
"Crow! Use-" Crow suddenly screeched and the fell. He tumbled down the tree, and yelped once he had hit the bottom. The color drained from Ryan's face. "Something's wrong...I need your cottonee to help him, I don't understand what it is..."

Shocked out of her reverie by the sound of a branch breaking, she looked to see crow on the ground. Without a second thought she ran towards the pokemon and knelt next to it. "But what could it be?" Thinking of the possibilities, she studied the pokemon before her. "I honestly have no idea what my Cottonee can do." Looking up at the boy momentarily distressed, she quickly clouded her concern and focused on an answer. "Perhaps, but no...it couldn't be that" She searched the pokemon's body for a mark of any sort. Perhaps something had been thrown at him from behind. Not being able to see one, she returned her gaze to Ryan "My only thought is that he feel the full effect until he scaled the tree, but that wouldn't explain why he cried out." Still examining him, she noticed a bruise on his back. Quickly standing up she whirled her gaze around. "Ryan, someone's here..."

(It's an initiative answer, and thank's for it, but not exactly the one I was looking for. Here's a hint : The battle's still on.)
Ryan shook his head. It was weird, he didn't run over to his Pokemon. "No..no he probably got that while tumbling down...like I said, have your Cottonee check...they can talk to each other, and she might be able to communicate what's wrong."

Naano blushed a deep red at her stupidity and called Fluff over. "Go on, help him out." Fluff looked a tad annoyed, but concern quickly flooded her face. As she came up to Crow, she began to speak to him. "Cottone? Cottonee, cot cot?" (Hey, what's going on? What happened to you up there?"
Standing up and still red faced from embarrassment, she returned her arms to their usual crossed position and watched her pokemon. What a curious thing. Naano always enjoyed watching pokemon interact with each other. Glancing up once more at Ryan, the same stare was planted on his face. Not knowing what to do, she simply shuffled her feet around.

Ryan chuckled and looked at the ground. He still looked blank but he continued to laugh under his breath. "Sorry for this." He said across the field. He paused. "Wait, no I'm not. CROW, SUCKER PUNCH!" Crow leaped up, and his arm slammed into Fluff. He had been fine the entire time! It had been a ploy.

Fluff flew back, obviously injured greatly. It was a definite knock out. Naano's expression turned dark and she clenched her fists, but relaxed the and planted a calmer expression on her face. She retrieved Fluff into the pokemon "You did great Cottonee, now rest." Releasing her Caterpie she called out "Use poison sting Caterpie!" It obviously didn't seem like a good idea seeing as their opponent also had poison type moves, but under her new calm expression she couldn't think straight. Plus, Eva wasn't strong enough to fight Crow, and she feared that she knew exactly how this battle was going to end. "Well, I suppose I can't say I'm not surprised. But on the other hand, I should have expected this from someone like you." Gesturing towards his bag. "They have terrible side effects you know." Once again her expression darkened.

Crow got hit by the sting. He tore the barb out but yelped. He had been poisoned, and since he was a grass type, it was doing damage. Ryan was worried for him but continued the battle. "A caterpie..? No way that can do much. Use Needle Arm!" Ryan shouted.
Crow swung his thorny arm around like a flail, towards Meeko.

Naano's mood lightened slightly, but she wore a devilish smile. No way was he getting away with such a cheap trick. As Crow impacted her Caterpie, it resisted and took damage, but not too much. "Alright Caterpie, use bug bite now!". Smirking at Ryan she said "You'd be surprised blondie."
Her eyes perked up. She thought that she had seen an emotion, if only for a second. Once again her mood darkened. She wouldn't accept defeat on either matter.

As Caterpie's jaws locked on Crow, Ryan took the opportunity. "Pin missile!" he shouted. Crow, even through the pain, shot pins from all over his body, particularly the part Caterpie had bitten down on.
Ryan bit his lip. Crow had some health left but one more attack would probably take him out, combined with the poison.

Meeko cried out, and his health went down more than earlier, but he still stood. Naano was torn, if her next move wasn't a knock out she was afraid that she'd definitely lose. She had no choice, it had to be done, and she could see the determination in her Caterpie's eyes. He only had a few moves, so she called out once more "Meeko, use poison sting again!".
Out of the corner of her eye she saw Ryan bite his lip. But to her, it wasn't enough emotion to base her tactics on.

Crow spun around and fell. The poison type moves and the bug type moves, being super effective, were too much. He was unconscious. Ryan size and withdrew him, then nodded at Lulu. "Take it out."
Lulu leaped into the battlefield. Ryan didn't give her a command - she immediately brought her hand down on Meeko. (Brick Break)
