Kido: Nyhil has studied and can command all kido, including most forbidden kido, at a captain's level.

Other Traits: Nyhil has stolen much of his predecessor's research. Augmenting himself in a variety of ways similar to that which Mayuri was capable of or carrying similar inventions. He is a genius as well, and capable of replicating/understanding most if not all of the previous research that went on before his command.
Body Modifications: Heightened Senses: Nyhil has augmented his form with both other research and a result of his zanpakuto's influence over many years. He has made himself capable of turning on heightened senses, leaving him to see in the dark or sense people through a series of high pitched (dog ears not human ones can pick it up when he does this) clicks akin to echolocation. He can tell more about items based on touch and particularly by taste he can pick apart something's make up to the point of spouting off all elements involved. When he has a taste of blood or flesh from a person he can eventually use it to track them with nearly perfect accuracy.
Body Modifications: Mutable Blood/Endurance: Nyhil's blood over many years of combining with his blade has been left abnormal. He can use it as a deadly poison or an incredible curing agent based on his concentration to alter the cells before he is bit or cut. However, he is immune to all poison and drugs. While this is useful if he is bitten by a poisonous enemy, it also leaves him to endure any and all pain his body goes through as he cannot be knocked out by any substance either. This has given him an absurdly high pain threshold and oftentimes he doesn't notice small cuts or wounds at all - which can also be a detriment in battle.
Body Modifications: Organ Replacement Surgery: Stolen from Mayuri Nyhil has developed his own augmentations to this. While he can replace organs with false ones as the former captain did, he can alter the internal make up within his body so normal placement for organs is not the same for Nyhil. Someone might go to stab a kidney but get only muscle tissue for instance. He cannot do this in the field and requires a half an hour within an acceptable laboratory to rework whatever current structure is in place.
Body Modifications: Fangs/Saliva: Nyhil's constant fangs are capable of secreting a poison or drug if he chooses upon biting something/someone. It is a somewhat weak dose in this form but could still function in the same way a minor anesthetic or many bites from something like fire ants might. His saliva holds a healing agent that can be used to close/heal most small wounds or abrasions. He has to lick the person directly for it loses it's potency shortly after exiting his mouth.
Invention: Hojiku-Zai (補肉剤, Flesh-mending Drug): (need to edit desc) Taken from Mayuri this "regenerative serum," can regrow limbs upon injection, and looks like some sort of green chemical. It still causes incredible pain but functions in the same way it always has otherwise.
Invention: Gigai Specialization: Having studied both Mayuri's former creations as well as the mod souls used by Kageroza as well as others Nyhil has an excellent grasp on the creation of both. However, he rarely uses his ability to make mod souls he will put incredible effort into making Gigai for himself stronger in general than the average ones taken to the world of the living. He could make either thing but simply prefers real people to ones grown in a lab.
Invention: Zanpakutō Repair and Modification: Nyhil offers a catalogue of Zanpakutō related services that include repair and gender reassignment.
Invention: Various: Outside of the aforementioned inventions Nyhil has access to all prior creations of Mayuri and anything that has been recorded/kept within the twelth squadron. However, many of the other Inventions he simply chooses not to use for reasons of his own. Anything that is a drug or poison he has learned to secret with his fangs in the full release of his Bankai but no previous stages. (I.E. Antibodies similar to the bacteria data collectors, Mayuri's superhuman drug and Thought Inhibitor Drug)
Invention: Perfect Anticoagulant: A poison/drug combination of his own design Nyhil can use this substance in his Shikai or Bankai forms through his fangs. Once injected into another creatures bloodstream all ability for their blood to clot and their wounds to regenerate considerably lessens. (50% Shikai, 80% Bankai) This does not include stopping kido magic that heals, but any other form of regeneration would be interrupted as the blood would thin to nearly the point of degeneration.
Invention: Soul Sight Glasses: Nyhil has worked the glass on his glasses so he can actually see changes in spiritual pressure, differences in spiritual energies between 'types' of creatures. (aka: soul reapers, quincy, vizard, hollow, hellfire, fullbringer, bount, etc etc) It allows him to see certain patterns so once he's seen moves a few times he can begin to predict they are coming based on the build of spiritual energy in the air.
Weakness/Addiction: Blood: Nyhil was subject for such a long time to various testing and experiments and was conditioned to use blood as a spiritual regenerative. Over time he's become dependent on it, if he does not get blood to imbibe once a day then he will begin to have trouble resisting it's allure around people. If he goes several days he will likely attack the first person he sees that is bleeding, and if he goes a week he will likely seek out the nearest source and forcibly take what he needs.
Zanpakuto Name: Zenchishi
Zanpakuto Appearance: As opposed to the usual katana length an unreleased zanpakuto takes, Nyhil's sword in this form is a shorter wakazashi. At it's base two smaller blades are capable of unfolding at the press of a button on it's hilt. It can function as a swordbreaker in this manner but only on similarly unreleased zanpakuto. The two extra blades that come from the sword are serrated and look much like long jagged claws.

Shikai Incantation: Dominate
Shikai Appearance: When called on in Shikai, Nyhil pressed the blade through one of his palms and it melds into his flesh as it is released. His fangs slightly increase in sharpness and his eyes seem to glow. On his hands several wicked looking metal claws form on every finger.
Shikai Abilities:
1. Claw and Fang : The serrated blades Zushichi turn into can break off into the victims struck by his hand to hand attacks with ease and will ‘re-grow’ themselves in only a short moment. Once inside his opponent the broken off pieces will ‘dig’ themselves deeper into the flesh and aim for parts of the inner body of his opponent, causing pain and interrupting bodily function the longer they’re left ‘inside’ to wreak havoc. When released in Shikai if Nyhil bites someone he may inject a much more hampering poison/drug than when his zanpakuto is in it’s sealed state. He can inject drugs that function at the same level as Percocet as if their body is completely unadjusted for it or a poison that can cause anything from localized pain to rotting away the area around the bite. As as aside, he can also inject a regenerative serum in this same manner. If he bites himself then it is still quite painful but if he bites someone else to inject the regenerative property then they do not feel the pain involved.
2. Blood: Nyhil has finite control over his own blood within or outside of his body. If he throws his blood on someone it can function to carry Hormones (as power below) as well as DNA (Bankai sickness abilities). On top of that he can turn his blood into a functioning acid when sprayed or dropped onto another creature or item. It does not harm him but he can burn his own clothing if he activates this when he has his own blood on himself. He can activate this with ease, it takes very little effort.
3. Heightened Abilities: From his senses to his physical skill all of his capabilities strengthen. His sense of taste and smell can be heightened to the point of being able to perfectly track anyone whose blood he has tasted or any substance that he has ingested in the past. His endurance and regenerative properties as well as his personal speed and strength greatly increase.
4. Enthralling Hormones: In this ‘form’ Nyhil can release a hormone from his skin that works to influence all living beings around him in a way he desires. From making someone needlessly angry or sad to giving them feelings of attraction or even a desire to keep him safe (parental complex push). This works on natural impulses of hormones within the creatures around him and if someone is incapable of an impulse then it would not work. The longer someone stays around him the more likely they are to elicit a reaction to this influence. This only works if someone is within ten feet of him as if they were further then they wouldn’t pick up on the hormones in question. Unlike other abilities in his Shikai this takes a little longer to activate and altering what is already being 'released' is something that is difficult to do in combat.

Bankai Name: Consume
Bankai Appearance: The same as Shikai though the claws grow slightly longer and his eyes seem to flow more than before.
Bankai Abilities:
1. Heightened Abilities – All prior abilities can be used in this form, though all are much stronger than before. He is faster, his poison/drug creation for his fangs is much more potent, his claws are harder to dig out and move more quickly toward cutting off internal functions. His hormone release effects people more stronger/quickly. So on and so forth.
2. Sustain – In Bankai anytime he absorbs flesh/blood of another or his own cells cause damage he can use it to regenerate his physical body or replenish his spiritual energy. Flesh heals his physical body while blood raises his spiritual energy. It can take him beyond normal limits if he absorbs either of these things in advance of a battle.
3. Alter the steady form – He can make personal augmentations to his body on a whim, his blade allows him to transform his flesh by little more than a thought. He can create fangs on his arms that can spread his poison or an exo-skeleton to protect himself from heavy hits. His abilities are quite wide and varied in this form, giving him an exceptional list of options. With a little added effort he could sprout wings, a tail, or extra appendages. However, for more than two extra appendages (a set of wings counts as two) he has to get flesh or blood from someone else to fuel the ‘grander’ transformations. It need not be living to be utilized.
4. Inside of You Anyone who Nyhil has previously bitten/clawed has remnants of his own cells within them. With this he can ‘activate’ those cells to work as a virus within the foreign body, they will begin to sicken/weaken the unfortunate victim at a rapid pace. This ‘plague’ will start with a minor draining effect but it will steadily increase the longer the cells are allowed to fight with the host body. Once the sickness sets in, sickly black marks and growths will appear on the skin of the ‘infected’ areas. One must cut/burn away the infected flesh to interrupt the illness. Healing Kido and the majority of healing effects will not remove this illness. As an aside to that, his cells can also be used to battle other foreign illnesses as though they were ‘super white cells’ with no other effect on the target than in aiding of illness.
5. Devour The current pinnacle of Nyhil’s abilities this effect is one he uses sparingly but often on those that he personally wants dead as opposed to controlled for testing/experimentation. Or if he's pressed to the point he is concerned as to his death. Nyhil breaks down his form into a fine red mist with incredible speed and passes through his opponent. Anywhere his ‘blood mist’ touches is automatically infected as per ‘inside of you’ above. Even once infected flesh is burned/removed (which could end up being all of a victim’s skin if they don’t avoid enough of the mist in question) the victim will remain incredibly ill for a week, barely able to keep down food, often having hot/cold flashes, occasionally having seizures or muscle spasms. Again, as an aside, he can use this to help cure someone and when doing so can fix incredible illnesses and with extended multiple sessions could relieve someone of cancer or another disease often considered ‘incurable’. The down side of this ability is that it is incredibly painful and it takes him several hours to reform himself once he has broken apart. He cannot be hurt but he can no longer affect a battle at all. It takes him 6 hours to reform into his physical body and he cannot again disperse until he's had time to rest (6-8 hours on top of the reforming process).

Personality: Nyhil is somewhat difficult to pin down. He is not as psychotic as some of the previous leaders of the 12th Squadron but he has his moments where some might wonder. Genius often gives way to madness they say. Nyhil often seems not to care at all as to others but those closest to him knows that he shields his true self behind the mask of mad scientist – or perhaps they only hope that is true. He usually is quite lucid if easily distracted by things other people don’t always sense. He enjoys more expensive tastes in clothing and is often downright odd in his choices of ‘food and drink’. Though often misunderstands others aversion to his personal quirks. He for the most part is laid back and friendly in a social setting, if quiet.
Personal Likes: collecting different perfumes/colognes, Tea as well as Blood (both to drink), Chess, Intellectuals, working on new experiments or inventions, Fresh Sushi/fresh food in general
Personal Dislikes: Anything preserved, Drinking (Alcohol) – he makes a rare exception for wine if he’s particularly down/depressed about something, Anyone he considers to be ‘an idiot’,
History: (Please keep in mind I only wrote a rough draft and then stuck with it for his history so any mistakes I apologize for.)
Nyhil Dakkar was not born with that name; it was one he chose later. His true name he keeps very quiet. Not that his real name is of any particular consequence but he considers himself reborn of who he was before his escape/take over of the Research Division.
Nyhil was a soul reaper that was born in the Rukon District but became an orphan so young he cannot remember any parents. Like many children with even vague spiritual talent in such a position he was quick to enroll himself in the academy when he was old enough. It was better than starving or getting beaten to death by the less than kind element that wanders the area.
He went through the school quite high in his class but not at the top, not because he couldn’t have it. He is certain had he wanted highest honors he could have gotten them. No, his position a few below the top was calculated. He still didn’t know much about the squadrons themselves and he didn’t desire the expectations that accompanied being number one.
His intellect and quick wit landed him a spot in the Research Division. He took his time learning the ropes, not even a ranked member for many years so he would have time to pursue his own interests. It wasn’t a lack of strength, he was just quite good at making sure people didn’t know how much he had actually accomplished. Much of his training beyond the academy in kido, flash step, even one on one battling was kept very quiet. Eventually Urahara (before he took over as Captain) seemed to realize how capable Nyhil actually was and they trained together often in those years. He or Yourichi as the pair seemed to be great friends. Yourichi did much to aid Nyhil in the realm of hand to hand and Urahara more in the realm of swordplay.
He remained that way for a very long time, training, stronger than many of his ‘superior’s’ but wanting just to blend into the background so he could study and spend time in his own manner more than what the responsibilities of higher ranks allowed. Up until Urahara’s disappearance; when so many members of the court vanished (turned into Vizard) and then Mayuri took over for Urahara.
Mayuri took an interest in experimenting beyond just other races, if someone’s abilities or zanpakuto interested the ‘mad scientist’ he would find a way to ‘acquire a specimen’. Nyhil never realized it was going to happen, he was sleeping when they carried him to a lab and hooked him up. Drugs and poisons wouldn’t work on him but breaking his bones functioned to keep him in place. Here he stayed as a guinea pig for nearly two centuries under Mayuri’s ‘care’.
To say he was treated poorly would be an understatement, he was often left broken and bled for his unique bodily traits, the only reason he was allowed to keep his zanpakuto was so his ‘captain’ could take varied samples. Mayuri was immune somehow to the hormones Nyhil used on so many others. At first he fought back, he took any opportunity to try to escape but all such ‘openings’ were only tests by the man that had imprisoned him. Eventually he just let a part of him shut off, as far as his fellow squad members were concerned he was a number, his records had been purged and most people didn’t know he existed. The ones that did had been banished as a part of the Vizard incident.
Nyhil waited, eventually he would lull the creature into a false sense of security and then he would strike. He’d been forced for so long to endure constant pain that he rarely felt it anymore, or at least he didn’t react to it like a normal person would. He had kept his shikai active sometimes for weeks at a time, so eventually many of the abilities simply stayed even when the shikai was no longer active. In some cases he was a test subject for the body modifications that Mayuri himself would use in the future. Much of Mayuri’s personal research of Nyhil was put into modifications and inventions – more than most will ever know unless the strange man chooses to share that truth. Also in those years he was forced somewhat by Mayuri to gain a certain affinity for blood, he would be given it sparingly but for centuries it was his only form of sustenance so he grew a certain dependance for it.
It was only in the last four decades that he was given a shorter leash, he was finally allowed some leeway to spend time in the underground labatories extra rooms. Perhaps it was a result of ‘good behavior’ but Nyhil used the time to further his own training. He already had been close to Bankai but now he’d had a very long time to think about it, to resonate so fully with his blade that he showed aspects of it even when it wasn’t active. Mayuri encouraged Nyhil’s development of new powers because the scientist believed it would offer him new exciting things to research. He didn’t actually expect Nyhil to develop Bankai and he was not prepared for how much Nyhil refined his skill in such a short time.
Mayuri walked in one day, unsuspecting and alone. He locked the door and that was when Nyhil’s claws dug through his skin, and even though there was a long combat that came from the event Mayuri made the mistake of turning himself into a puddle after he had already been infected. He could no longer purge the cells that held the plague like illness within Nyhil’s Bankai. The very ability that so often saved Mayuri was his downfall…
Nyhil was taken into custody but he preferred any prison to the torment that he had endured, though eventually when other members of the squadron came forward to explain that his story of being a lab rat for centuries was true any charges were dropped. He was not put on trial for the murder of his Captain given he acted in the only way available to escape his tormentor. After that he asked for the position himself…where as once he had shunned the responsibilities of power now he welcomed the security such a position offered.
He chose his moniker because it means ‘nothing’, that was who he was for such a long time it seemed fitting and no one argued him his new name given the position other captain’s agreed he take. Though many remain somewhat wary of him, he seems just as intelligent as Mayuri was and a few steps up on the sane scale despite what he’d been through. He’s spent nearly all the years since he took the position familiarizing himself with all his squadron has to offer. Only recently has he started to come out more often, apparently at least semi-content with what he needs to know.
