"What could I have said, Cece? I'm a peaceful guy... I don't like confrontation. And I was raised by females and around females. To me, girls are always right and I'm not supposed to argue with that." He said softly, headbutting her gently. What else was a stallion supposed to do. "I... can't promise you that, Cece. But I will promise that I love you, and only you." He struggled with the words but got them out. They were true, he felt it in his heart.

Cecelia stood, head sagged at a loss of what to do. "I don't know what to do...I feel hurt and sad. And what if you run into her again? Then what Damir? I fear for what that wicked mare could talk you into. Its obvious she had some kind of hold over you..." She was trying everything she could to try to keep him away from that Arachnae.

Damir sighed, holding back the unnecessary anger that welled up in his head. "Cece... That's as much as I can give you... All I ask for is your trust, without making me promise you things that could end up breaking your trust of me." He said, hating that he was hurting her but also noticing that she didn't say she loved him back. He remembered her warning to him, that she wasn't the settling kind. "I can't promise you anything, if you can't promise that you would never leave me..." He said softly, almost under his breath.

"The sad thing is, is that before this. I was ready to Damir. But now, I need time. And no, I don't need time to myself...I just need to...get over things. I'll try not to make you make promises or anything. Let's just...take it one step at a time. I have to get over my own fears and be ok with myself before I can be ready to settle down. Do you understand?" Cece asked hesitantly as she finally nuzzled him back. Her anger had finally fizzled into just a feeling of exhaustion.

Damir sighed and nodded before wrapping his neck over hers. Honestly he would do anything for this mare, but she had to trust him first, and get over her feelings of inferiority and lack of trust. He closed his eyes, a tear leaking out the side of one and soaking into his fur. He hugged her close to his body, just wanting to be near her in silence like they had their first night together.

"I...want you to meet my mom, Damir. I'm sure by now she's dying to meet you and it would give me something else to worry about." Cece remarked with an awkward chuckle. "It would be a little ways but I don't think it would take too long to get there, if you'd like..." She offered.

Damir stepped back and looked at Cece in shock. "Are you sure?" He asked, watching her for all her emotions and reactions. "I would love to meet your mother, no matter the distance." he also suspected that this was another way just to make sure he didn't meet up with Arachnae.

"My mother is very special to me, as I know your mothers are. She normally goes to this one place about this time of the year..so I'm hoping she's there. It'll be this way." Cecelia started at a trot, with a look back to see if he was following her.

Zoey was standing at the base of the hill that led up to the cavern where she and Desmond had first met. About this time every year she came her with or without him. If they were together, they would reminisce and if they weren't, she hoped he would be there too. This time, it seemed, he wasn't going to be there. She sighed and began to graze as she heard footsteps just before she saw the soft pink and warm brown's of her daughter. "Cecelia?!" She shouted excitedly as she ran to meet her only daughter then noticing that she wasn't alone. A blue swirled stallion was with her, Zo cocked her head at her daughter, looking at Cece's expression. Zoey knew that expression, her little darling Cecelia was in love. "Well who do you have there?" She asked kindly.
Cecelia rejoiced at the sight of her mother. "I was hoping you'd be here! I'm sorry I haven't stopped by in awhile, mom, I've had quite the adventure." She said with a giggle as she nuzzled her mother. "This, is Damir, mother. Damir, this is my mother Zoey." Cece said grandly. "I've been with Damir mom, and we've traveled a little bit." She told Zoey sheepishly. Her mother would know exactly how she felt.

Damir bowed low when they came upon Cece's mother. He could tell she was sad about something and that she instinctively knew about him and Cece before Cece had even said anything. "Its a pleasure to meet you. Cece has told me so much about you. I can definitely see where she gets her beauty, Miss Zoey." He said graciously before casting a look over at Cece.

"Well thank you, Damir, though I believe she got all her good looks from her father, it's a pleasure to meet you as well. As I'm sure you well know, Cece doesn't come home much so any time I get to see my daughter is a day worth celebrating. Especially when she brings home her attractive mate to be. Ooops. I wasn't supposed to say that out loud was I Cece?" Zoey sometimes had trouble with what she said since she just seemed to know things that others didn't and sometimes she forgot that filter, especially with her daughter.
"Mom!!!" Cece shouted as she used her skill to an unfair advantage. "Thats not fair mom." She said as she looked at Damir apologetically. "My mom...tends to be able to sense things that normal Azrein may not be able to."

Damir shuffled his hooves uneasily, unsure of what to do. He blushed underneath his blue swirled face, and shifted his eyes to Cece. "Uhm.. thats alright..." He said uneasily. He gave an awkward smile towards Zoey. "Actually.. I've heard alot about you... There was a stallion that lived near my family that often spoke of you, and came up with poems about you."

Zoey froze and cocked her head. "You know Loren? It's been ages since I've seen him. Well, since before I met Desmond." She looked at the two, they were definitely an interesting pair, but she wasn't quite sure why it was that her daughter loved him so.
Cecelia blushed at her mom's comment and the mention of Loren perked her ears. "Thats that one stallion you said you knew before dad right?" She asked curiously. She had heard a little bit about him, but not much. Nothing more than the fact that he had written amazing poetry. Cece took a minute to nuzzle Damir, she knew it could be somewhat intimidating talking to her mother so she hoped he was ok.

Damir smiled at Zoey, nuzzling Cece back. "Yes, he spoke of you often, Miss Zoey. He's poetry was pretty amazing, I might say. Though he was a dark fellow..." Damir shook his head sadly before leaning in closer to Cece. He loved being near her, though he felt awkward around her mother.
