Danny kicked her shoes off in the usual fashion (she was learning!) and waltzed into the classroom, expecting more easy painting lessons and ink mixing. Oddly, the tables were missing, but Danny didn't notice. She was more focused on the guy in front of her, lecturing them about what to do, what not to do.

She really didn't like the way the professor called them "children." Sure that's what they were but ... well she was a mature adult!

Sort of ...

Kind of ...

Okay not at all. They were supposed to locate their beasts? That was so easy!

"They're in the drawing!!" she blurted out, and when a few students chuckled she realized this was one of those times where you're not supposed to talk. Ooops. She shut up after that.

The professor waved and arm and she felt herself whisked through the air and into the painting, falling straight on a cliff. She held her stomach and groaned, "Oooohgggg." She'd never been very good with boats or planes, and that was much worse than a boat or plane. She opened her eyes finally and found that her entire body was odd sort of brush strokes, whisking that way and this way. She actually jumped a little and recoiled back until she heard the teacher speak once more.

So they were taming their beasts? That wasn't ... too bad right? Just a little dog wrestling? Wait, no she'd be wrestling her firepony, wouldn't she...

s**t.

It probably wouldn't have surprised the teachers very much if any of the students looked confused, like Deacon did when he walked in. Tame their beast? How were they supposed to-

Oh.

Disturbed might not be the word for what Deacon was feeling as he looked down at himself. And down over the ledge of the cliff he was standing on. Instinctively, he backed away from the edge and closer to the mountain for safety. Dear Jack, it was going to take a long time to get down to that field.

Fully Tamed and Powered up!

After an exhausting hike down the mountain, several foot injuries and near tumbles on the sharp and unstable scree, Deacon was thankful to make it to level ground. It still took him a long while to find the clearing he was looking for, not that he'd admit getting lost in the forest of bamboo, but at last he stepped out into the grassy field victoriously.

Immediately he spotted his blob-lion and started off toward it, still trying to catch his breath. "Wha- HEY!" Deacon bellowed after it as the lion gave him one knowing look and casually turned and started padding away.

Grabbing a lion by the tail was probably a really bad idea, but at least it got the beast to stop?

After an epic battle of dominance that simply cannot be described Deacon claimed victory over his beast by some sheer miracle. It felt good, man. He had just enough time to give the lion a friendly scratch upon the nose before he was transported back to the classroom.

Tired out of his jacking mind (more so than ever), Deacon managed a weak attempt at the proper procedure for leaving class before he pretty much stumbled out to go collapse at the dorms.

The slimer slipped his hands in his pockets and shuddered a little as he felt the change in temperature, and also elevation it seems. He watched as the clouds hovered from one side of the mountains and plunged down into the cliffs, dissipating as it met with the warm air rapidly rising upwards. Pebbles fell as he the ghost leaned forward to look directly down at the cliffs, and then over to the large greenery before them, seeing a bunch of ink beasts as a herd.

“But.” The slimer furrowed his brow in confusion. “I drew an octopus.”

Tamed and Ready!

The ghost walked by the others as they were making their way down to the fields. The slimer wasn’t much of an outdoors boil, or even a hiker to really know to navigate the terrain, but he did well enough. He nearly fell as the ground behind him slid, and eroded into the land below, but managed to stay upright thanks to his innate ability to balance. It was pretty simple to the ghost, all he had to do was go down the mountain, no matter how, and fortunately, he did, with little problem for an amateur hiker.

It was when the ghost reached the herd that he had a problem. With so many of them, it was actually particularly difficult to look for an octopus looking ink beast among them. The ghost searched through them, but eventually gave up. He waited at the edges as the herd thinned, and when he did, he found his ink beast.

El Greco wasted no time, and jumped on the beast to tame it. They wrestled. The nine-tentacled creature was difficult to grapple with, and usually had the upperhand, but thanks to the ghost, being a slimer and all, he was able to loosen and escape some of its hold. The battle of grips went on for a few hours, until the ink beast was fatigued, and eventually gave in to its creator and master.

[wahhhhh, tired]

Fully Tamed and Powered up!

Danny stood up, a little wobbly in this ink form. She liked her solid form much, much more. She examined her body a little before moving at all. Her tail was a deep black color that probably should've upset her a lot more than it did. In fact, she thought it was pretty neat. especially her wings! They were big blotty blobs and she loved it. She tried touching her arm and giggled. Still felt like her arm, at least from what she remembered.

OH WAIT. Oh man she was supposed to be looking for her pet, wasn't she? Danny backed away from the cliff and started looking around for her firepony blob. She couldn't even REMEMBER most of how it looked- she drew that thing yesterday! That was a whole 24 hours. There was no way she was supposed to be able to remember the pony from one Halloween to the next!

In her excitement, she didn't see that puddle that covered the ground and she ESPECIALLY didn't see the rock that was jutting out of it. She tripped and went flying towards the ground. Luckily she caught herself with her hands, just before she was going to faceplant it complete. Her knee went down hard though, and she scraped it a bit. Her hands were a bit raw too, but overall it wasn't too bad. Just some dirt! ... Err ... ink?

Whatever, it didn't matter- she had to find that ink beast! She was growing worried. What if she didn't find it? Did that mean she failed? Well she hadn't been kicked out of the painting yet... Maybe that was an assurance. Yeah! She couldn't feel insecure already! Nothing had even happened! She got up and brushed herself off a little, sending little ink droplets towards the ground, even as she ran down the mountainside. For the rest of the journey, she did pretty well just running down the mountain, getting out of the area she was in, searching while she went.

Finally Danny wandered into a big open field, and she saw it. It was ... it was ...

Beautiful.

Her firepony was softly grazing on the ink grass, scorching the ground as it scoured the area for food. Its mane was flowing and its beautiful tail was a fountain of ink in the best way possible. Its wings flapped awkwardly, but that just contrasted with the sheer beauty of the design work. It was majestic in every way possible, and Danny loved it, right down to the giant circle of grass it had just torched with its flaming ink breath. Could she be in love with this firepony anymore than she already was? Definitely not.

Danny took a step towards her magnificent beast, and rustling a bush she didn't know she'd been standing behind. The firepony looked up and noticed her with alarmed, worried eyes. Was it ... did it recognize her? Danny immediately ran towards it, arms outstretched, screaming, "PONYYYYYYYY."

So turns out ink ponies don't really like being yelled at. The horse galloped away from her the second she started running, zigzagging along the path, trying to outrun her. Danny was fast though- faster than most. She caught to the pony and panted, "I'm gonna love the FEAR out of you!" The pony just seemed more alarmed and turned left, running even faster.

Danny frowned, but she liked a good chase. They were swerving through all sorts of trees and bushes now, Danny nearly tripped on a branch! The pony actually did trip on the branch.

Had she been having an out of body experience, Danny would've actually found this entire experience hilarious. A blobby fat pony tripping over some branches? Priceless.

However, she was not, and she actually cared a good deal about her firepony- the thing was practically her child! She'd brought it into this world! She took a few slow steps over to the pony, who still stared at her with big, wide eyes. Maybe it wasn't actually afraid, and it just had wide eyes. She would know, she drew the thing that way.

"Heyyyyy little guy, I won't hurt you. I just want to tame you a little okay?" she cooed, still walking closer. It didn't seem to be running away scared anymore. Maybe that was just because it couldn't.

What did it mean to tame a pet anyways? She wasn't really sure how all this was supposed to work. Did she feed it something? No it couldn't be that- she didn't have any food. Maybe she was supposed to fight it? Danny was afraid she might kill it- or worse- it might kill her.

Now she was only a few steps from it, and she gently reached her hand out, in an attempt to pet it.

User Image

THIS s**t WAS MAGICAL YOU GUYS OKAY. SHE WAS HAVING A VERY SPECIAL BONDING MOMENT WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL FIREPONY SHE CREATED AND JUST OH MAN I'M GONNA CRY-

Well she'd apparently tamed it. Danny pet it more vigorously, like she might do to Tony or Tiff, and the firepony seemed to accept it. No running, no sad looks. Actually, it almost seemed to like her petting. Seriously? Was this real life? This pony was accepting her love and appreciating it.

Almost instantly she was whisked out of the painting. Her expression was that of utter loss. Her ponyyyyy. What if it wasn't there when she came back? NOOOOOOO.

Moure entered the room quietly, slipping off his shoes again and placing them in the rack. When he got into the classroom, the patchwork's eyebrow raised. Why was it just the painting in the middle of the classroom...?

And then they were being sucked foward, probably by some reverse gravity power that the Conquest Horsewoman could use? In any case, Moure tumbled forward, falling into who knows where.

Apparently, that place was a mountain. It was a mountain that looked suspiciously like the painting's mountain, and after a moment, Moure looked down to see that he too looked like it belonged in the painting.

Wait. How did he end up in the painting?

Moure listened to the instructions, suddenly torn between regretting making his painting one of a superpowerful form of Gibralter and happy that he'd get to see his friend again. He had to find him first though. As such, the patchwork began picking his way down the mountainside.

Today's class was much more than she ever expected it to be. She looked at her hands and legs. For not she was a part of the picture, and she was able to see just how her newly painted beast felt. It was difficult to walk, but it only took her few seconds to move her feet.

Once she had figured out how to move she looked around her, somehow or another she found herself on a cliff on a mountain. "Guess my beast has good taste," she said with a giggle as she began her venture. She was determined to complete this task and tame her beast, at whatever cost necessary.

Tamed and Ready!

It took her what seemed like hours before she was making her way down the mountain. She had no idea where this mountain would take her, but she could sense that her beast was in this direction. Either that or she was just having an Arliene rush. Whatever it was she decided to follow it as she keep walking. Finally after what seemed like forever she found herself in a field among other students just like her. Somehow she had gotten lost as she was walking, and taken a few wrong turns. So it took her awhile to arrive here. Arrive in this area where all of these student just like her were trying to do the same thing, and that was to tame their new beast.

As she entered the field she looked to the sky, it was time. Time to find the beast she had created of ink and paper. She took one step in the direction of the beast and before she knew it she had walked in every direction possible. "Where am I going," she cried out hoping on she could hear her cry, "Did I really get lost again ..." Thankfully that last question she could answer for herself, and the answer was yes. Yes completely, for she was lost. So with nothing else to do she just took a seat on the ground and waited for the crowd to thin. She sat there humming and whistling for a while. Her voice and sounds only stopped when she saw her creation. The dots for the eyes and the splatters for fur, it was them! The beast she had been looking for was now right in front of her....

She calmly stood and took two steps towards her beast. "I am here to challenge you my friend," she said very friendly as she took a bow. It only took seconds before their battle began. It raged and raged until the beast finally gave in. Tyshina was sweating and breathing very heavily as the match came to an end. It was such a close match that if the beast had not given in, she may have been the one throwing in the white flag. With a smile she reached her hand out and petted her beast gently on the top of the head. "You did well and I am proud to be your master," she said happily as she watched her beast respond happily to her words.

...Locate and tame. Teacher say what.

Rikki made a funny wail-y cry sound as he was sucked into the painting and landed on a mountain. More specifically, a cliff. He looked down the steep slope and tried not to give a girly sob at the extreme height. A fall from here would surely mean death. Look at all those pointy rocks. He gulped and stepped back from the edge.

Right. He just had to get down without falling. No bit deal.

Ugh! Failed Tame!

Getting off the mountain turned out to be less difficult that he had initially thought. If he kept his shoulder in contact with the side of the mountain he discovered that the ground was sturdy and he wouldn't fall. So that's what he did. He made it off in no time, and from there it was a straight shot to the field. With so many things around, however, he had no real idea how he was supposed to find his own beast.

Somewhere over the sea of bodies he caught sight of a rounded ear that looked kind of like the one he remembered painting. He hesitated, but with no other ideas on how to find his beast, he took off. He caught glimpses of it every so often, but for the most part, it remained way out of sight. He stopped and turned in a circle, now completely lost for where it had gone. What. How did a giant blob just disappear? He pushed a hand through his hair and blew out a puff of hair. Dammit.

How the hell to find a blo- "Whatthejack!" He shouted, falling back as his beast appeared out of nowhere. Much like the gleam that he had seen in it's eyes before it transferred to this scene, this blob of a beast was very much alive. Now that he was standing infront of it though, it didn't look very much like Ruska. It lacked the complete adoration that Ruska had for Rikki. Still, Rikki held out his hand for it to stiff.

Except the beast just jumped away from it. He furrowed his brows at stared down his painting. It stared back. Rikki extended his hand again and again the beast jumped away. It hobbled in a circle around him, and Rikki didn't move fast enough. Before he could turn, the beast bit him in the a**, and ran for the hills. He didn't even have time to chase him.

As if sensing the failure, the scene spit him back out into the classroom.

Tamed and Ready!

Moure decided to scale the cliff. Probably not the best idea with his track record for rock-climbing, but still. He actually made it down with only a few injuries, some minor cuts across his hands, but it wasn't too bad.

Finally, he made it down to the field, and began looking around for his war-horse-sized monster of a minipet. After a moment, he spotted the Ink verison of his minipet and slowly made his way forward. The wolfish Gibs turned around, spotting Moure with his gleaming eyes. For a moment, Moure could only see the animalistic aspects in his friend's eyes and was vaguely afraid that it might charge him, but then the painting recognized him and gave a happy chortling bark. It's tail waved back and forth, and then it turned around and bounded away, looking back every few feet to make sure Moure was still in sight.

After the first bound, a grin split Moure's face. It was play-time, according to his ink-boogeymon. The Runner took off after his false-minipet, charging after the creature. The Ink-made Gibralter-creature would turn and check on Moure, tail flicking back and forth, before charging off again. Finally, Moure caught up, tackling the beast and getting a hold around the creature's shoulder. The huge, canine Gibralter slowed and then paused, looking down to the patchwork and giving him a happy nuzzle across the shoulder. Then, the boogeymon took a step back and a wolfish gleam crossed through the fake-Gib's eyes. Moure raised his hands slowly, waving them down to signal that now was not the time.

This boogeymon, though, seemed very sure that it was time for some play-wrestling. Usually, Moure would've been glad to play with his minipet, but there were some noticable differences between the real Gibralter and this Gibralter. Namely, this Gibralter was the size of a horse.

The boogeymon charged him, bowling the patchwork over. The 'play-fight' had begun. After a long wrestle (in which Moure was almost sat on twice), Moure managed to swing himself up onto the boogeymon's back. "Mind if I ride on your shoulders this time?" It was a joke, one that the real Gibs would've understood, but this ink one simply seemed content and acknowledged Moure as the leader here, and gave a happy purr as Moure stroked between the oversized minipet's ears.

And then Moure was suddenly back in the classroom. Apparently class was over for today.

The next day of class had come and Mitsu noticed the room was much different than it had been before. Slow steps took her inward before she felt a pulling sensation as the teacher waved them in. Suddenly she was falling and Mitsu couldn't help but squeal, covering her eyes until the sensation stopped.

When she opened them again the scene around her was not what she expected. The classroom had changed again but...the whole room looked like the ink painting. She looked at her hands.....OH JACK she looked like an ink painting.

There was a short moment of panic before she heard the teacher's voice over head explaining what they needed to do. So..she had to tame the beast she had draw? Looking around she noticed she was at the mountains....her panda had been in the bamboo forest. She was going to have to back track to find him.

Sighing a bit Mitsu began with her task, keeping her eyes peeled for the blobby bear.

As entered the room he did not look quite a nervous as the day before. He was still stretched fairly thin after a night of restless sleep, but the dreams that he had had not been fully formed ones like the previous night, just snippets. Glances really. Leaving him exhausted and disturbed but not horribly shaken. And now, everywhere he went the clan of Conquest reminded him of another clan. A clan that in his mind could do so much worse than anything Conquest threw at him.

Or was it really that bad?

He shuddered as he headed over to stand by Assistant-Professor Lan Shanzhu, not admitting that he was shying away from Professor Zhang Liulian. It was hard to focus, something about beasts. This was the painting that they had added to the previous, and he could not help but scan for a blobbish mantis beast, wondering what they were even doing as he did so.

Then he suddenly had the oddest feel of being pulled forward, leaning in toward the painting and oh Great Mantis was he falling? It certainly felt like it but he had been trained enough to know that one did not shut their eyes while falling, it limited one's ability to land. But then he began looking around as things began to settle into place, noting the odd inky consistency of his surroundings.

User Image

And finally he looked down he realized that something was wrong. Very wrong indeed. He looked like he had been painted himself. There was one very good thing about this though, he was so taken aback by it that he was able to (momentarily) shove other events out of his mind, focusing on the problem at hand. Which first of all meant figuring out where he was. He began to examine his surroundings. He was on a cliff, part of a mountain that towered above a field of grass. Down below there were dark blobs and creatures moving along...wait a second. Dark blob creatures? He glanced around quickly. This...almost looked like the scene that had been painted on the scroll...was he in the painting?

Professor Zhang Liulian's voice came from overhead, and it became quite clear that yes, this was their class. They were going to tame the beast. Well, he was going to tame his beast. As soon as that instruction was made he began scanning for his own mantis-blob creature. So this would be like hunting, only without killing. So find it, quickly, tame it, and then be done for the day. It seemed straight-forward enough. And at least it was something he could throw himself into. Something he really would not have to think about. He did well with those sorts of assignments.

Fully Tamed and Powered up!

They had been advised not to allow their beasts to wait. And Yin took them at their word. So basically...get down to that field as quickly as possible. That did not mean finding an easy way down, that meant scaling down the cliff. Thankfully he had no major fear of heights, despite falling during the trials of War. He clung to the cliff's face, wishing he could take his natural form, and began the climb down.

By the halfway point his arms were trembling slightly and he had numerous scratches and scrapes, but they were all minor injuries. He was still a fair way from the bottom, over a story if one were to measure by a building's standard, when he glanced down, examining the ground. There were no large rocks or anything so he pushed himself away from the rocky face with one burst of energy. But this was a controlled fall and he rolled with it as he landed, standing up battered, and possibly bruised, but no more so than was normal for him.

Now then. To find his mantis. He took a few steps onto the field, and there was nothing in sight. No mantis blobs at least, he kept walking and after a short while he was already beginning to grow frustrated. Where was his mantis painting?! As he glanced down to make sure there was nothing ahead of him to step on a small black blob caught his eye. There, perched on a long shaft of grass not a meter from him was a mantis-esque blob.

Really?

It was approximately the size that his painting had been and now he wished that he had drawn a larger image. He approached and it did not back down, tilting its head at him slightly as he approached, not even attempting to be stealthy.

"I...do not know that you understand me," he said as he crouched in front of the normal-sized praying mantis, "but I am the one that painted you. And now I am supposed to tame you through battle. Which just seemed cruel considering.

He obviously hesitated, so that even the small mantis blob could tell that he was holding back. It waved a claw at him almost angrily, demanding a fight. With an almost mournful look Yin lowered his hands.

And dueled the mantis with two of his fingers. It was a fierce battle, though it ended rather quickly. The mantis shaped ink blob then clambered onto his hand, defeated, and gazed at him adoringly, having fully accepted him.

Suddenly reality was warping again, but this time it was like he was falling upward in some odd way and he found himself back in the classroom, looking around slightly bewildered. Well, he had triumphed so perhaps he had done the task they desired of him. He placed his right fist against his left palm and gave a low bow to first Professor Zhang Liulian and then a slightly smaller bow to Assistant-Professor Lan Shanzhu before backing away from the painting.
