Yuichi Shizen

As Yuichi ran along the forest floor after his prey a kunai flew from the bush an he slowed down ready for whatever he may have set off. His attention was drawn to a figure running off to the west above him in the trees, it was more then likely Yuzuki. However before he could go after it he heard the creeking of branches and turne in time to see the log coming at him. So jumping up he held his right arm in a hook spinning over the log to land where he had been standing before.

moments later a paper bomb exploded in the brush. Obviously that had been the next stage of the trap. He knew where he was standing was safe so he hadmn't dodged that way... and apperently had chosen right. "A three stage trap with a diversion? Or was she not finished? Wait that kunai wasn't part of the actual trap... two sage. None the less, I'm on her heels now, just have to stay close and i can keep the traps from being too complicated... Don't give her time." he mused before jumping up into the trees and heading west after the figure.

He remembered the claws he had seen her place on her hand before they began. "Something like that would be hard to fight ith in close quarters, it has very little defense. She'll probably try to tire me out and then strike when I'm vulnerable." he thought out loud.

He could still feel the circuit running through the shuriken in his left hand. However he noticed how unstable it was now. Was it beecause he was tired? No he could feel that it was off. So he could fix it, make it more precise. Run the chakra in an even tighter coil around the center. If it was unstable it would release too rapidly and never make it to its target. that was probably what had happened the two times before this. The one Yuzuki had intercepted gave off a charge of lightning that caught onto the other shuriken. So this could be used to hurt people who tried to block it with metal weapons. The transfer would make it dificult and costly to block. That was a good sign.

"This will definitely come in handy in the future. I don't have many Ranged techniques... so I will probably have to devise one more some time in the near future. For now though I need to concentrate before I set off another trap." he thought out loud. Did he set off that last trap though? There was no Trip wire that he had seen, and yuzuki was right there... It must be a manual trap. Or else why would she have been so close, she could lure me while still being farther away. he thought keeping an eye out for any sign of the girl.

He was learning... well this was a training match... and if he could scratch Yuzuki even a little Kori would be released... then again he wasn't working with her... she was an enemy too. At least by letting yuzuki try to tire him with traps he could get some distance for when it was his time to strike. Hehad to plan this carefully, he only had one or two shots at this at the max. And Yuzuki was tired as well, so he wasn't at a disadvantage like he would be against Kori. For now though he would simply wait for an opening, he just had to wait for one to present itself...

A cold breeze just rolled in.....

Kori finally found her target after a long run through a winding path. The strange path was suspicious to her but she figured the genjutsu was structured that way. Needless to say, she was grateful she found Yuzuki and promptly decided on a direct shot to her instead of going with one of her water attacks. She was fed up at this point and wanted a nice resounding impact, regardless if this Yuzuki was real or not.

.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

((Going off of what Raz already has Kori doing. Sorry for this short post. Figured I might as well explain her thought process))

Once the pair where captured in her trap, she quickly looped the wire that was in her hands through the eyes of a pair of her kunai and tossed them hard into a pair of trees on either side of her, allowing her to free her hands without freeing her captives. She made a few quick hand signs and looked up.

As Kori came flying out of the bushes Yuzuki turned to face her opponent and brought up her arms to block the kick. There was a solid impact as Kori struck home. Though oddly enough Yuzuki didn’t seem to be all that impressed nor put off by it. Her body slightly twisted with the impact and her hair covered her face for a moment, when the momentum of her body stopped the hair that blanketed her face moved away to reveal Yuzuki’s face had become Kori’s, there were empty sockets where her eyes use to be, her skin had become a leathery, ashy grey that began to crack like a clay pot when her damning smile spread across her face.

”Give up give up give it up, Kori,” Kori’s own voice called out to her, getting deeper and more malicious with each new word that passed through her crumbling lips. ”This is one nightmare, you won’t wake up from.”
’Kori’s’ hair seemed to grow exponentially and began to surround the real Kori, mocking laughter erupted from all around the girl before the fake Kori’s ribs burst out of her chest and started to attempt to wrap around the girl, it was safe to say that the girl would be hard pressed to get herself of of this trap being so close. Then… stars?

The unexpected and accidental head butt from Yuichi was enough to pull Kori out of her genjutsu, though Yuzuki was about to release her anyway. Yuzuki looked up at the two of them with her hands forming the sign of the Tiger. Yuzuki tilted her head slightly.
”This is the part where I barbeque the both of you while trapped in my little web here, seeing as I have no intention of ending you both here, why don’t we just crown me the uber badass of the group and go merrily about the rest of our day, how’s that?”

Yuichi Shizen

Yuichi glared at Kori as she snarled at him, "As a matter of fact I do... but i'll need to borrow your body for a moment so brace yourself." he said in a cautionary tone.

He was suspended in midair and could see yuzuki let go of the wires, securing them in the trees. With the way his arms were pinned in front of him he could menuever his arms still, but not enough to get the force to cut the wires quickly, and he would have to move quickly to hit Yuzuki before she could let off her attack. He still had the charged shuriken tucked away in his left hand. He would have enough chakra for that and one more jutsu. He would have to be precise.

So he braced himself, placing the knife in his right hand under the wire. "Pulse charge..." he said in a low voice before sending a shock through his hands into his body. Feeling his body go numb he closed his eyes forcing his extended leg inward against the wire, and his arms outward in the same motion cutting the wire and ripping himself from their grasp.

Then with a quick spin he threw the charged shuriken at Yusuki. He felt the drain on his chakra and knew he would have to handle the rest in hand to hand combat. So kicking off of Kori's body and launching himself at yuzuki, the kick creating a resounding thud. He saw everything becoming stretched as he moved. He could feel his breathing becoming more and more labored, and yuzuki was so close... landing on his feet in front Yuzuki, his hands up to throw a punch, he drew his arm back swinging with a strong right, however before he could fully extend his arm his body froze and he was seized by a powerful jolt paralyzing him in place.

"D-damnit, I didn't... wait long enough..." he said through gritted teeth as electricity tore through his body. He was so close, so very close. He couldn't beleive the pain though, the build up was massive, and he hadn't waited long enough since his last use testing it before using it again. Now he couldn't move, only convulse in pain at the mercy of his oponents.

A crackle of lightning could be heard before Yuzuki's wire was cut and Kori was freed. A female ninja appeared underneath Kori and caught her before she hit the ground. "Well! Each of you did fairly well, but its about as much as I thought from genin. As Yuzuki has pointed out each of your flaws against her strategy, I don't have to though her own skills are far from perfect."
She nodded towards Yuichi and then to Kori next to her. "I do commend you both for doing your best against an ability you didn't know how to combat. Oh! Name's Tsushia and I'm your jounin leader. Nice to meet ya."

”Well of course I know that my performance wasn’t flawless. I’m not saying that I am the best, all I’m saying that I won. Come now, surely you won’t deny me some level of bragging rights, my plan came together more or less and I achieved a victory.” Yuzuki wasn’t really sure about this jounin, she would give her a chance though. She at least gave the impression that she was competent. Yuzuki wasn’t as hero-struck as Kori seemed to be. Yuzuki decided that she was going to take a more neutral stance on the jounin for now. When Kori approached Yuzuki, she actually let out little smile as Kori’s approach to her. ”Hey, anytime you want to be placed under a genjutsu to work on getting out of it, just let me know, I’ll be glad to give you some nightmare fuel for the next couple of weeks.” Though there was a teasing tone to her voice, she was serious, it sort of made her… happy?... to have someone willing to come to her for help instead of just laughing at her. It was really something that she wasn’t use to and she was starting to feel a bit of kinship between herself and Kori, Yuichi seemed alright too, but he and Kori were going to have to learn to work together… it was going to be a huge pain in the a** if the jounin and herself had to pull the two of them apart every waking moment it was going to make things hard.

Granted, the thought of rivalry really seemed to amuse Yuzuki to no end.

After that thought, Yuzuki turned to Tsushia to study their team leader a little more carefully in order to try and get a better feeling for her. Her eyes trailed across her body with a certain slowness that perhaps suggested something about Yuzuki’s preferences… then again she was a genjutsuist and loved to play mind games with people. Perhaps this was just a way to see if she could get under the Jounin’s skin, seeing what limits she had and what sort of tolerance’s she possessed and what rubbed her the wrong way. Yuzuki’s observations were more than just lingering glances. She was trying to figure out the type of ninja she was, the armour and sword would indicate that she was very much a close combat fighter and possibly a taijutsuist. She could also be a genius type as well, Yuzuki imagined that the Raikage would at least make sure that their leader was well rounded enough to teach and benefit everyone in the group… then again this was the Raikage they were talking about. The incompetence of the man was starting to stand out to Yuzuki now that she was a ninja. When Tsushia took note of the studying that she was being subject too, Yuzuki gave her a playful wink as a smile crawled across her face. Her eyes then fell to the twitching form of Yuichi, who was probably foaming at the mouth due to the electricity that was coursing through his body and likely stopping his heart.

Yuzuki gave a dead panned stare at the boy. ”…erm, are you alright, Yuichi?”

Tsuchia offered a hand to the boy on the ground. Was he the only boy here? This would be a rather interesting group. "Having watched your little sparring match, I don't think I really need to test each of your abilities, unless one of you was holding back...... She paused for a moment before continuing. "But I was given each of your current reports from the Raikage, but if you've met the guy I then you all know his word could be faulty at best. So!"
Clasping the boy's hand and yanking him to his feet, she flashed a grin at the other two. The grin was less of the cheerful type and more like a thirsty, excited grin. She was pretty eager for her new assignment as this jounin leader. "We've got a mission to head out on right away that's right here in the Land of Lightning. A mine has uncovered something rather strange and is asking us to investigate it. Its already claimed the lives of a few of their workers, but they have no idea what it is. Our job is to head into this area and take care of whatever they awakened. Now are you all ready to head out?"
