Despite his team member's efforts of stabilizing the wall Joachim continued to carry the small brick like features of sand as if to pile them up to reinforce the wall even more.
Or... at least that was his attempt except for the fact that he was a klutz and dropped it on his toe.

That hurt. Rubbing his toe Joachim glared at the sand like brick and grumbled with annoyance. Not wanting to give up or lose the castle he picked it up again and carried it to the wall, this was not an amusing trial.

Ulmuka was flying as soon as he saw the tentacle. It was his one advantage that his other team mates didn't have. The strix did not often get angry but he'd gotten surprisingly invested in the making of the castle and also quite a bit attached to his team mates since they had been so successful together so far.
"ATTAAACK!" He shrieked, looking rather crazy with his wide eyes and shirtless with now-tattered pants. "Save the castle!!"
He swooped in an slashed at the tentacle from the air, just as it swiped into the side of their creation sending torrents of sand to fall to the ground.

Willow's tail flickered as she stood and watched until Muka started attacking the thing. It sorta snapped her out of the OHMYUNHOLYJACKINGBALLS state. She looked around and picked up a piece of drift wood that had been laying around and charged after the Kraken tentacle, known as Snidely Whiplash to it's brethren.
"Leave our castle alone!!!" Willow demanded.

It was a tentacle........ green slimy disgusting tentacle that showed itself out of the water and the last thing Joachim wanted to do was to get near it. Infact he didn't even want to let the thing touch him just the thought send a shiver up his spine.
However he couldn't let the castle fall not when all of his teammates depended on it staying up so he grabbed a piece of broken shell and ran towards the closes piece of tentacle he could.

Amarus' eyes lit up like a food demon at an all you can eat buffet: It was a Kracken. A delicious, aquatic, fightable Kracken, and it was coming after them. And their castle. "I'll save you, castle!" Amarus called out, as if it was her princess, and she intended to protect it.
Not that it would work, necessarily. But she meant well. And it looked like this stupid trip to the beach would be more promising than she had thought. Amarus watched Muka in flight briefly before rushing the tentacle as well.
Turns out she shouldn't have gotten distracted. She poked the tentacle in a way which seemed to anger it so much that it lashed out in a way she had yet to see.

Willow frowned at the tentacle as it waved around Mr. Whiplash over there was truly holding up to his name. Willow was trying to follow it as quickly as she could but as she attempted she felt like she was watching a ping pong match and managed to nick the monster's tentacle with the piece of drift wood she'd picked up.

Realizing the fatal flaw behind her last attack was her inability to pay attention to what was happening. This time, without relying too heavily on her kuji-kiri, Amarus searched through the sand for maybe some sea glass or... anything. In the end, she couldn't seem to find what she was looking for.
So she used her braid, with its lotus amulet, as a kind of weapon?... And attacked that tentacle furiously. It would suffer for hurting their castle O AO

Amarus should never have attacked it with her braid. It seemed to anger the tentacle beyond belief, probably because it was a lot like getting sand in papercuts caused by her lotus amulet. So... really, she could see why that would make it so mad.
Still, she managed to wrestle it a little before it got to the castle ; A;

Amarus folded her hands into Rin, and wished that Jin was here to eat the stupid Tentacle. Surely, her Firelands Wyvling would at least try to vanquish it for her. She'd even be grateful for one of her friends...
And at the most inopportune time, she dug through her memories to that time that she fought the ginger hizzy alongside her friends. She sighed, and kept on fighting, as if she could summon them here just by doing so. What was the point of caring for others? She was grateful that it felt distant, and muted; maybe being a ghost had its advantages after all.

She could not fail them. She folded her hands into the kuji-kiri for power, and then for concentration. Focus, Amarus. Focus. This time, the damage was about the same for both of them, she suspected: it was full-on tentacle-wrestling time, so it would win some, she would win some... ultimately, she was left with the bitter knowledge that it simply wasn't dead yet.

Basically, Amarus missed all of her other friends, and she sucked at fighting the Kracken.
Why couldn't she keep her head in the fight? She tried to assault it with her feet, got tangled up in it, and thrown at the sand castle.
