"Dunno," Mort answered in a murmur, testing his stitching by having Alex stretch his arm in different directions. "D-Don't know how guess. Just know how patch up n' readying for next round. Where hurt most next?"
Did Snips know he was being given an awed look? Of course he did. He was the king of the sea.

((Doing this so I can edit the first post. Make sure for part two you roll 100 sided dice, not 20 like it says one time in the instructions))
THE TIDE COMES IN AND...
"I do not believe that another attack is our main concern right now," Yin said suddenly, looking down toward the ocean.
Which was suddenly all the way up the beach all but licking at their sand castle. He knew about tides, but had never seen one like the oceans. The next wave crashed in, licking the outer wall of the sandcastle...but Mr. Starfish stood strong against the wave. One last wave removed a few more grains of sand and then...the waves were receding. Apparently their castle had been built far enough up the beach that the tide was going to take them out.
ROLLED DAMAGE DONE: 24 OFFENSE OR DEFENSE: Defense SUM TOTAL OF DAMAGE DONE TO CASTLE After all calculations in play.: 24 - 18 (8 + bonus of 10) = 6 damage!

Alex was about to tell Mort to do his face next, which was still slowly leaking dark, thick blood that he could feel running down his cheek to his jawline. He wiped it away with the sleeve of his shirt, which was quickly becoming more and more bloodstained. He was considering just taking it off at this point, but he didn't want to expose more of his skin to the sun.
Yin's words, and a strange whooshing noise, caught Alex's attention, and he stumbled to his feet, backing up along the side of the castle as wave after wave came up and attempted to destroy their castle walls, too little effect. It had done some damage, though, and repairs were going to be needed.
"Never mind for now, Mort, we can finish later. Let's get this castle rebuilt." Indeed, while there wasn't a whole lot of damage done to the water, the castle itself was looking a little...unstable.
Alex got to work, pushing sand up around the base of the walls once more in an attempt to stabilize the failing structure.

He should've known water would come in the way, though thankfully they weren't in the path of the wave's wrath. Did he really want to rebuild the damaged portions of the castle as opposed to stitching himself and Alex up? Not really. But you gotta do what you gotta do, when you gotta do it.
Grunting, the zomboil pushed himself up with a wince, feeling his FEAR begin to mend itself as he shuffled to a different portion of the castle to smooth over. "Mrrr . . . Hope n-next one is in cooler place . . ."
Sand was getting in his open wounds, and boil did it sting.

Well if Alexander, as injured as he was, was working on their sand castle then Yin certainly could. He did not, however, share Mort's opinion. Cooler? No thank you, this felt rather nice.
He glanced over at the ghouls, wondering what they were up to, and then went to work pushing sand against the base of the castle, moving as quickly as he could with the now large grains and just throwing himself into his work.

Oh no! but... their castle! Certainly if the castle collapsed, they were doomed. Wasn't the idea to protect the castle? At least it was only their wall that saw the damage, so Taryn tried desperately to bolster the defenses. Unfortunately, a rolling quicksand roiled over he hoof.
"Damn!"

Taryn dropped to a crouch and began forcing the wall back up, mixing some of the very wet sand with some of the very dry sand. It seemed to be working rather well!
"We can do this! Keep trying!" She'd very much have preferred more crabs.

Hearing Taryn's curse, Mort glanced at her with some concern. But their ever determined leader managed to find her mojo within seconds, plowing onward. This inspired him to pick up a few grains, however big, and place them back on the wall.
Snips, overlooking their work, seemed to clap his claws together with some encouragement for them. Clapping worked, yes?

Oh no! Snips! Taryn reached down and replaced their guard within the inner towers, trying to save him from a potential onslaught. If another wave came, they could very well be doomed. She decided to forgo aesthetics for now, just rebuilding the seaward side.

Alex crawled over towards the starfish, which looked like it was starting to slip out of the gateway a bit, and heaved it back into place. He could feel the stitches on his arm tugging tight as he flexed his barely there muscles.
Thankfully, the water made the sand around the castle nice and cool, and the castle itself was making a nice bit of shade. Alex could feel his fear finally start to mend him back up, and the cut on his face was slowly healing.
"I think we just about got it all." He grinned, feeling much better then he had been all day.

Yin began to walk around the base of the sand castle, hoping to see if there was any place that the still needed extra attention. Whenever he found a weak looking spot he would shift a grain of sand to fill its place, making the foundation rather sturdy indeed.

Snips is proud of you guys.
He was even proud of his doofy rider, who had watched Yin and Alex's efforts before stepping in, throwing himself into the effort of carrying a few extra grains of sand to smooth things over where they'd worked. Everything looked alright now, and Mort was huffing from the exertion; boil, did his arms hurt. But he felt proud, looking upon their restored castle walls, and grinned despite himself.
"Think . . . Think can do this!"

Alex stood back once they were finished, rubbing his forhead with the back of his arm. His various cuts and bruises all appeared to be fading away, and he felt almost completely revitalized, especially since spending some time in the shade. Letting his arm fall back down to his side, he glanced around for where ever Yin was,
Walking around the castle, he spotted the weremantis, getting some help fixing up the foundation with Mort. He made his way towards them, grinning happily. "I think we got it---" He suddenly cut off, as the sand rocks beneath his feet shifted, and he was sent flailing straight into Yin, trying to grab a hold of the weremantis by his shoulders to steady his fall.

What was with Alexander trying to use him today? Ordinarily he could have steadied the flailing zomboil, but the sand under his own feet was having none of it. Just one small shift and he was off balance, sliding back. At least he could land first and give the zomboil a cushion to fall on.

And so it happened that Yin once again couldn't keep his balance any better then a certain zomboil we all know so well, and Alexander ended up falling once again to the ground, only this time with the weremantis beneath him. In his panic, he wrapped his arms around Yins shoulder and behind his neck, bracing himself for impact as he squinted his eyes shut.
Yin might have made a better landing pad if he wasn't so hard and muscly.
Alex slowly peeked his eyes back open, releasing his grip and shifting his arms out from under the mantodae. Feeling rather embarrassed with himself, he tried to think of something to say.
"Uhhhh...sooooo...I'm good at pinning too?" He gave a hesitant smile as he stared into the face of the weremantis beneath him. "Was that one of the 37 or can we call that 38?"
