Madison listened ardently to every word - she liked Aria's practicality, though she still found it hard to reconcile the woman who had taught her and Kouki to fight with the actual Aria who stood before them. They seemed so similar, and yet... She shook her head slightly, as if to toss the thought away, before looking back to Gale. "So - um, do you know which trainees we're looking for? I've been out on observations, so... yeah..." She scuffed one toe against the ground, awkwardly. Way to get to know your division, champ!

A lighter. Jordan made a mental note to add a lighter or other fire source to his mission bag. Aria was right about that; he needed to be sure he was always prepared for a call on short notice. At least he already had his winter gear in the closet, since the Alaska mission. As Aria left, Jordan flipped the mission folder closed and looked to Bix. "Got most of your gear ready?" he asked. "We might want to talk about how we're going to handle stuff tonight, be ready for various possibilities." Then he hesitated, glancing to the door again. "I want to go find Jerry and see if I can get him to tell me what's up. Can you hang onto the folder for now?"

Gale's eyes flickered back to Maddie, a slight frown on his face.
"As far as I know, there haven't been any new Death trainees for a bit..." he said musingly, already wracking his brain for the information. "Plenty of the others, however..."
He trailed off, lost in thought.

"Hmm, okay, so... Ennea and Jude, right... and, uh, the gas-mask kid? Wilson, right? Deryk, Aleister, um... oh, Eva, and... Otto? The snotty kid with the giant surfboard thing? Is that about it?" Ennea. She hadn't, well, seen anybody before coming in here, but... ah, well, she'd see the youngest Phoenix tomorrow, right? "How can I help? I'll make sure my pack is, like, all sorted out, but other than that? I really want to do a good job and not slow anyone else down," she said, feeling a little stupid for being absurdly anxious just because Gale had suddenly been declared in charge. He was the same freakin' guy he'd been ten minutes ago, geez...

The Misty gave the ginormous Lifer a confused what-did-I-do?! look as he cautiously accepted the folder to read through it. "Y-yeah, I get to pretend I wasn't kicked outta Life for this mission," he weakly smiled to Robert. "U-uh, you prolly got leader-type stuff preparations to make so, ummm, lemme give the Lifers that're gonna be coming with the heads up? Sound good, boss-man?"

Robert drooped when he heard Before start talking. That guy should have just stayed in Life in the first place, maybe then Robert wouldn't have to be -
Huh. So being the leader meant less work? Robert finally perked, and gave Before an odd look, as if suddenly interested and no longer annoyed.
"Uh. Uh yeah. Lots of those preparation things. Thanks. That'll.. be a big help." He patted Before on the back, far too hard for the poor man, and got started on dem preparation things.
Which, of course, meant planning for a nice nap.

"I got the file." Bix nodded to Jordan. The other young man definitely had more 'leader' qualities than Bix himself. He seemed concerned about the right things and asked the right questions. You would too if you didn't just hand the resssssponsibilitiess off so quickly.I do not. How about I'll go for the next one? Next time? Plus Jerry and I were in charge over Christmas.Mina's response was only a hiss. Bix grabbed the folder and his phone, pulling up all the sun numbers he could find. "I'll see you later Jordan."

Gale was nodding, his hand absently twisting the folder of information on the desk.
"Yes, you're right," he agreed with a nod and a slight smile. "I just meant no new Death trainees that were awakened with the last batch a few days ago. I was paired with...Otto - " He said the name with a distinctly disgusted tone of voice. " - during that mission to the Sahara a few months ago."
He tried not to think about that, however, and instead lifted his eyes to offer Maddie a smile. "I don't think you slowing anyone down will be a problem. You're bloody capable of handling things well; that much has already been proven. I don't think there's much to do, other than make the new trainees aware of the situation - regardless of their division - and get our packs ready for tomorrow."

Before said nothing else to Robert as he whipped out his phone to send a cryptic but warning-filled enough message to the Lifers who would be joining them. Madison grinned sheepishly at Gale. "Right. Thanks. I'll text them and let them know to be prepared and stuff, and make sure I've got my crap together. Sounds good?" She pulled out her phone and flicked through the address book. Man, there were a lot of unfamiliar names in here.
