"a*****e virgin," was all she said. She still wouldn't move. And the words were sharp, like she was pretending she wasn't crying. Which she was. That and she didn't want anyone to think she ever cried. Crying was for the weak and she was not weak. She was a lot of things. Rapist and weak weren't two of them.

"That's how I say hi. I flirt. Go to hell. Better yet, Remi would gladly send you there," she said. She raised a hand and rubbed at her eyes. Great they were going to be red and puffy. Make up didn't work on that and she didn't want to wear any before she trained.


She didn't want to have to answer possible questions about Remi so she thought up a topic change fast. "You like swords. Why? Daggers are smaller and lighter," she said. She wiped her tears away again.

"Oh? But doesn't the length ever get in the way? Whenever you want to get in close and personal, you can't. And swords are hard to hide," she said. She sat up, her face dry, but her eyes red rimmed from crying.

Clarissa rolled her eyes, but smiled. "Well that's if you like to announce to the whole world you're armed. Knives are perfect for if you want to keep that fact quiet," she said.

Clarissa chuckled, but listened while Jack told her about swordsmen and their instincts. It was pretty interesting, but she still preferred knives. She laid back on her bed.

"Sounds...cool. So...if you are good at judging people, why not try me? Would I stab someone in the back?" she asked. She looked over at him curiously.

That night, as Jack went to bed, he had a peaceful nights sleep with no nightmares. It was a long night, but a comfortable one. Jack woke up the next morning sore, but refreshed. Getting up he took a shower, and prepared for the day to come. He was looking forward to more training, but first he had to get something to eat. He realized something right then and there, where was Clarissa? Was she sleeping?

Jack glanced over to the other bed to spot a sleeping Clarissa, as indecent as usual. Jack sighed...he was a bit glad he spent so much time alone, he didn't know if he could handle this new room-mate of his. Luckily she was still asleep while Jack got dressed half awake...that would have been a bit embarrassing. Strapping all of his weapons on and bringing his pack full of belongings, Jack opened the fridge, grabbed a quick bite to eat (enough to keep him alive for the day) and walked out the room. A thought occurred to him, was she researching Gene-X's? Did she take on already? SHe better had do it fast or else she wouldn't survive long on the island. As he walked out into the hallway and out of the building, he would make one last stop. He had business with Gunner, and if the meeting would turn out well...Jack might just that much more powerful.

Clarissa walked into the room, sat on her bed and pored over the Gene X brochure again.
