It didn’t take long for Lisanna to get to the armoury and pick out a new bow. They had a vast array of different types of weapons, but she simply chose one that was most similar in design to her old one. It would never be the same…but it was better than nothing. Perhaps she could make her own…? That would be an interesting challenge, she thought. The next step probably would have been for her to go to the recreation centre and try it out on a few targets, but as soon as she was done picking out a bow Lis felt the familiar biting ache of hunger pangs in her stomach. In her own ditzy way she often forgot to eat, since she didn’t have much of an appetite anyway and she was usually so busy with doing things for the students. It might have accounted for how skinny she was, bordering on unhealthy. ”I better get something to eat before I start training…” She muttered to herself, rubbing her stomach with a tired sigh. Today was turning out to be quite a long day. Yes, she was definitely in need of an energy boost. Come to think of it, she couldn’t even remember if she’d had breakfast that morning…

And so the white haired girl slung her newly chosen bow over her shoulder and made her way to the cafeteria to stand in line behind the students. The line seemed to move painfully slow, so by the time it was Lisanna’s turn she didn’t even care about choosing and just randomly pointed at something unidentifiable…which turned out to be some kind of vegetable soup. It looked vile in all honesty, but actually smelt pretty good. In fact to a starving Lisanna it smelt damn near heavenly. As the woman handed it to her she smiled her thanks and wandered off to find a seat, paying no attention to any of the other people sat at the tables. She placed her bowl down and then set her bow on the table next to it before wearily sitting down. It seemed like a kind of torture when she promptly realised the soup was far too hot to consume immediately. Lisanna laid her head on the table in despair, whining softly to herself as she waited for it to cool down and trying to ignore the gnawing hunger pains. Which were made all the worse by the tempting smell of food all around her and in front of her.
”So hungry…so tired…” She muttered, closing her eyes…and then without realising…Lisanna fell asleep on the table.

For how long she was out, she didn’t exactly know. But when she jerked awake again she was still at the table, and the soup…was still hot. She realised this in a most unfortunate way when, upon waking, she accidentally knocked the bowl with her arm…spilling the contents all over herself. Lisanna then got rather a lot of attention in the cafeteria as she shrieked loudly and jumped up, waving her arms frantically before grabbing her dress and pulling it in one motion over her head and tossing it aside. It was her first instinctive reaction, to get the hot, wet material away from her skin.
”Oh sweet cheese, it burns! Ow ow oww!” She cringed, still flapping her arms like a mad bird woman as tears of pain pricked her eyes. She didn’t even care that she was standing in the middle of the cafeteria in her underwear with everyone staring at her. A painful, angry red blotch was rapidly appearing on her bare stomach and thighs where the soup had burned her. ”Someone get me some ice for the love of God! Don’t just stand there!” She gasped at the stunned students who were observing this unexpected spectacle.

Nona followed Sophia in, mustering what dignity she could after her behavior outside the room. She was silently grateful Sophia retreated to her bathroom for a few moments after letting her in; it gave her the time to collect herself. She took that time to look around the room, realizing this might have been the first time since she came to Winhill that she had been in someone else’s dorm. As expected, the proportions and design were identical to her own, but it was decorated with Sophia’s own modest flare. Sophia returned momentarily to find Nona still standing, her arms crossed. She seemed to struggle with getting out what she wanted to say again, and shifted visibly when Sophia kindly took the initiative. When she mentioned Lloyd, though, Nona’s nostrils flared aggressively. ”Don’t remind me,” she muttered, but quickly abandoned the topic. Trying not to hold on to those aggressive feelings, she hesitantly took the seat Sophia seemed to be offering. The way she cautiously sat on the bed, one would think it was a bed of nails in her eyes.

Nona uncrossed her arms with some difficulty; it was a habitual defensive posture that anyone who knew body language would recognize. Instead, she placed her hands on her knees, trying to work out what she wanted to say before she had to say it. It came haltingly, but she pressed on lest Sophia interrupt. ”We don’t know each other too well, but...I had a favor to ask,” she began. Not too bad so far, but whatever was on her mind was clearly weighing heavily. ”I was thinking about going to the ball, but...” Argh, why was it so hard to just sit down and talk to a person? If anyone in Winhill shouldn’t have come across as intimidating, it was Vinginshy, but there she was making every word tougher to get out than the last.

”I was wondering...I mean, I don’t know this sort of thing too well. I don’t know if you do, but I figured you were my best bet. You’re all...” Aware she was headed the wrong direction, she switched gears. ”I wanted...to ask...” The words came out with Herculean effort. ’Could you...maybe...Help me...” The final three words came out in a meager whisper. Nona couldn’t meet Sophia’s gaze and instead stared at the floor like it had just kicked her dog.
”find a dress?”

{{O.o.c:// PPPPPPPPOOOOOOOOSSSSSTTTTT :3 There, I posted. Victory of Life}}

Inside the training center, Kalay slowly came to a stop, spinning his sword in his hand confidently before sheathing it, letting out a breath. With a flicker, the lights in the room returned, lighting everything up. Kalay covered his eyes for a moment, gently letting the light get to his eyes, nearly blinding him at first. With some time though, his eyes adjusted. He smiled lightly, glancing over to the corner where the pair of red eyes had been before, but nothing was sitting there. In fact, it hadn't looked like anything had ever been there, so perhaps it was a trick of the training center? It was hard to say. Either way, Kalay let out a breath, stretching and turning. He had done his training for the day, a rare occasion, certainly. Regardless, he was done. He headed out of the door, grabbed a towel to dry off his sweat, and went to the elevator to take him back to ground level, his mind transfering through thoughts quickly as he tried to place where people might be. He honestly wasn't sure, but he imagined most would be in their rooms preparing for the ball, or in the halls asking for partners. Regardless, it seemed unimportant to him to worry about the ball. To each their own though.

The instructor did not waste much time getting out of the training facility, but not before someone recognized him and asked him about class. Kalay had given a quick answer, walking off without much thought. Most people wanted to know if class was postponed due to the still large number of wounded from the SeeD exam. While class wasn't really canceled, he hadn't given a class since he had returned. There was a lot for him to do, in paperwork terms, all of which he had been irritated about. On the other hand ,he had gotten to see those who were now SeeDs, so perhaps it was worth it. Regardless, he cracked a smile as he walked down the walkway towards the center building. He was proud of his sister. Very proud, even if he didn't show it much. He was glad she had made it, even with the problems that came with being a SeeD. She had a strong will if nothing else, which was why it didn't surprise him at all as he passed her and TL standing on the walkway. He barely glanced at them, patting Ellale on the head as he passed.

At the moment, it had seemed like Ellale was tense, and TL had been quiet, staring at her with a look of surprise, so, judging by that, and Ellale's embarrassed expression... "Good girl." That was all he said as he walked away. He wasn't loud enough for either to hear him, but it was clear enough what he was talking about. Kalay had known for a long time about his sister's feelings with TL. He wasn't blind, considering how close he'd seem them, so he was giving his support, and leaving as usual so as to not be drawn into things. He managed to escape before Ellale could call after him, likely because she was still embarrassed by TL. Perhaps things would work well with them. Kalay hoped so for his little sister, if nothing else. She had enough to worry about, rather than adding in emotional trauma.

From there, Kalay entered the central building, walking with a light step around it. His stomach had started to growl, so he had made the decision to head towards the cafeteria, at which point, as if on cue, Carbuncle appeared next to him, padding along silently. The two passed what appeared to be Yuka, the school announcer's sister, studying deep into something. She had papers all around her, pictures as well. Whatever she was doing, it seemed like she was enjoying it judging by the pleasant expression she bore. It was not long after passing her that he also passed the young Riyel, though Riyel seemed distracted in thought as well. Was everyone doing something?! Well, it fit Kalay just fine to be wandering. Without much thought though he tapped Riyel on the head as he passed. "You hungry?" That was all he said to Riyel as he walked on. It was as much as an invitation as Riyel was going to get. Perhaps Kalay was being generous, but he felt like he might as well 'offer' to eat with one of his students, even if his offer was a simple: "you hungry?"

Kalay didn't care of Riyel followed or not, but something odd happened near moments later as Carbuncle's ears shot up and the rabbit like GF was gone in a second. Kalay blinked, watching Carbuncle disappear onto the Cafeteria walkway, surprised at the sudden reaction. He didn't think much of it though as he walked on, arriving at the cafeteria a good deal behind the little GF. It was of literally no surprise to him when he walked in and found Carbuncle sitting next to Lisanna, however the situation itself did surprise him, not that he showed any reaction to it as he walked in, still visibly unfazed. Carbuncle was staring up at her, a green glow forming on Lisanna's visible burns, the rabbit GF clearly using cure on her. It was almost adorable, if Lisanna wasn't in her underwear alone. That was why, without much warning, Kalay throw the towel, which had been left on his shoulder from training, onto her head.

"You're a lot less bashful than I remember." Was that a tinge of humor to his voice as he watched her, Carbuncle shot him a glance, most likely to tell him to be quiet, but Kalay didn't seem to notice as he let out a soft chuckle, turning to finally glance and see if Riyel had followed him. "You should really pay more attention to your surroundings, Lis. You'll give people the wrong impression." And in a completely unabashed manner, Kalay moved off, clearly going to go find food. Lisanna had the option of stopping him though before he got to far, if she would though, considering his words, was still in question though.

She was frozen, almost in fear as the words that escaped Tae's mouth nearly shattered her entire thought process. 'Are you serious?' Those three words... why did her heart stop so harshly? It wasn't like she had said no, it was just those words... made Ellale believe for a moment she'd made a terrible mistake, and in that moment, she dropped her gaze, even with her plead. Her grip on Tae's arm loosened slightly, the girl preparing for the worst, Tae to pull away in disgust. She waited, and waited... but oddly, something patted her head, a momentary brush, the girls eyes looking up just fast enough to see Kalay walking away. Wait... when had he walked by?! Had he heard all of that?!

Now that she was panicking, it was the perfect moment for Tae to answer her, mainly because Ellale wasn't breaking down so much as already surprised. For a moment she just stared in surprise at Tae as the girl put her hand on Ellale's shoulder. The 'cat' couldn't move, she was stunned. Fear had turned to joy, and her body couldn't cope with the change so quickly. In fact, the change prompted something else entirely. Tears flooded Ellale's eyes as she looked up at Tae before shifting her grip to hug Tae tightly. She didn't really have a reason to be crying, but considering her condition, mentally and physically beaten down, it wouldn't seem all that strange. It had to happen at some time, she had just been waiting to break down. If it happened now, that was okay, since Tae was there as comfort.

"Thank you..." Ellale said into Tae's shirt, the girl uncontrollably crying. It was probably a really depressing sight to behold, but oddly... Ellale hadn't been so happy before. So why was she crying... perhaps out of joy? That was possible. It seemed possible anyway as the girl relaxed again Tae, just holding her loosely now. The wind gently blew through her long hair, shifting it on her back as she held Tae. The girl didn't know what else to die, aside from fall asleep, which was actually happening as she hugged Tae. So much so, that the girl's knees actually gave out, the only thing keeping her from falling to the ground hard being the fact that she held Tae. Instead, she slid to a sitting position. Her head rested against Tae's legs, and short of Tae trying to make her get up, it really looked like Ellale might fall asleep right there.

Riyel "The Quiet One" Vicaria

Now I think I understand
How this world can overcome a man
Like a friend we saw it through
In the end I gave my life for you
Gave you all I had to give
Found a place for me to rest my head
While I may be hard to find
Heard there's peace just on the other side

Not that I could or that I would
Let it burn under my skin, let it burn

Keeping to himself was something that Riyel excelled at. His hands remained at his side as he looked down deep in thought only until the point where a voice rang out through the midst of his own mental haze. Initially, Riyel did not respond at all but the words slowly perturbed to the blonde's ears and finally his ears perked at the sound of one of his instructors speaking. His mouth opened up in an O before shaking his head out of his trance. Hungry? Perhaps he was. His own stomach began to growl as his entire body got up to date on how he actually felt...and it was quite distracting as soon as he realized it. "Hungry...yes...I mean, yeah I am." He replied, watching as Kalay began to carve a path towards the Cafeteria. With a small shrug, the newly endowed SeeD followed in the Instructor's direct line, not missing a beat as he pursued the shifty man.

But as soon as they entered the cafeteria, Riyel's stomach growled like a hungry wolf, his hand instinctively grasping it in an odd form of comfort. Quickly, he grabbed a bowl of yogurt that was on the menu and began to eat, to ease that irritable thing that was a part of his digestive tract...such a nuisance. But as he ate, he continued to follow Kalay, his focus split into following and eating while not even noticing Lisanna as he om nommed his way through the delicious strawberry yogurt that tickled his tastebuds. It was perhaps the most interesting thing in the room anyway. "What are you feeling like eating?" He asked Kalay, it didn't hurt to make really small talk did it?

I hope it's worth it
Here on the highway, yeah
I know you'll find your own way
When I'm not with you

So tell everybody
The ones who walk beside me, yeah
I hope you'll find your own way
When I'm not with you tonight

Tae had blinked when Kalay had walked by unsuspected and patted Ellale’s head. He’d said something that had a thoughtful expression upon her face as she slowly looked away from him when he finally disappeared. Her attention drew to the tears that had filled her dear friends eyes that had her own widening. Had it been something that she said? Whatever it was the sudden tight hug sent a small laugh from the taller girl. Her eyes closed to hide the pain the hugged caused. All the running, the jumping, and hugging was going to kill her tomorrow if not later tonight. Perhaps some pain killers would do some good if it became too much. In the mean time she wrapped her arms around the other enclosing her with a warm hug of her own. A soft smile now rested on her lips. ”You’re welcome.” With one hand she slowly stroked the back of Ellale’s head her fingers played with the long green strains of her hair.

It wasn’t until she felt the other girl slip from her grasp that she noticed how tired Ellale was. ”Perhaps we should head back inside before you fall asleep in the grass here.” her voice was soft and almost teasing. ”Besides, we can’t get dresses here and I don’t think they make ones out of grass.” least nothing that would look nice and pretty. Swatting down carefully she lifted the other girls arm up and over her shoulder before putting an arm around her waist and helped her to her feet.

”We should go look for Sophia. I know she said she wasn’t going to go to the ball… but I think it would be nice if us girls went shopping for our dresses together. Don’t you think?” and knowing girls they would need all day to shop for the right dress. That is if they would allow them to go out and get them. Lucky for them they wouldn’t need to do a measurement because they had already done that in one of their physical exams this year. Surely none of them had changed that much since then so it would be fine to use those same measurements and save them time in the process.

Excitement flooded Tae’s veins making her want to rush inside to hunt Sophia down and if they came across Nona in the process they could drag her along as well. More the merrier, right? Perhaps even make it a girls day out or something. Get something to eat while they were out wouldn’t hurt any either. She glanced down at Ellale as she held the girl close while they walked back to the building to head inside. ”Sound like a plan to you?” if nothing else Ellale could sleep on the car ride to town. It would be something.

Lloyd was still quite a blubbering mess from Riyel's comment but what Sophia said completely derailed him. For some reason it upset him to hear she wasn’t going to go, after all he was considering asking her. Just as Lloyd opened his mouth to speak the ceremony began. The drum caught the blonde’s attention. With the emergence of the hooded figure's he naturally prepared for a battle and tightened his fists. The dragons were next and he was completely taken off guard from their dance around the room. At the end of the display stood the Headmaster. Lloyd was surprised at his appearance and a bit breathless. His guard dropped as he stood with his peers before the man. Lloyd latched onto every last word he uttered. Each held a deep meaning in his heart.

"Memorize their faces, and recognize them as family, the family whom would die for you just as you would die for them. And not just them, but for the world."

His turquoise irises gazed left and right on que and made a vow silently to himself. Each and every one of them wouldn't ever perish as long as there was a single breath in his body. He would safeguard everyone's life! He was a SeeDs now! Fighting was in his blood, so if the world wanted a showdown Lloyd was more than willing to oblige.

Lloyd couldn't help but grin with a mixture of well-earned cockiness/excitement as the head master said his name aloud. Finally he said those magic words that transformed cadets to full blown operatives. "HELL YEAH!" he shouted overflowing with joy once more. But of course the ball later tonight was mentioned to be held in their honor. 'Oh that's right!' Lloyd snapped his fingers remembering what Sophia said earlier. Right before he could bring it up Sophia slipped away and Nona following after her. Ellale, Riyel, and TL left as well leaving Lloyd perplexed with how to spend his time. "Hm..I could always do my hair" he thought aloud tapping his foot.

All alone now Lloyd considered actually talking with the headmaster...but that was probably a bad idea. Maybe he could go see Sophia!....but he had no idea where she disappeared off too. Now that he thought about it Lloyd had no idea where everyone was going off too.

"Aw jeez this sucks!" he shouted furiously ruffling his hair while walking on a path surprising other students who were around him. He let out an exasperated sigh from his sudden..alone..ness. Suddenly his eyes lit up with an idea! "That's it!" he said dashing off to the mechanic workshop. He slipped in and changed into his work clothes almost immediately seeing the opportunity to finish what he had started. He had a little time he figured, but the machine he was working on was already close to finished. Students in the workshop, Ellale include, were well aware Lloyd started some huge project about 3 years ago but has let no one see it. Pulling down his welding mask with haste, sparks flew every which way as Lloyd made the finishing touches on his creation.

-------------------------------------------------

Lloyd kept at it for a while. Suddenly he stopped short and slid out from underneath the tarp. "It's done.." he said almost as quiet as a whisper. With the utmost care he pulled off the tarp revealing his personal project. The other students inside the workshop slowly stopped what they were doing and began to crowd around. Whispers and mummers were going from one person to another as Lloyd placed one his pile bunker. He pushed the two prongs into what seemed to be the ignition. There was nothing but silence now as all eyes were on the contraption. Lloyd inhaled as he used the pile bunker to send a simple charge through the bike.

Suddenly all of the lights, contraptions, and symbols he installed over the past 3 years (after sending letters to his mother about what he was doing and getting blueprints from her) all lite on. There was a spark of excitement but everyone quickly hushed for the moment of truth. Lloyd's fingers wrapped around the handlebars slowly. With another breath he sharply twisted the handle and the contraption let out a mighty roar that echoed out into the garden. "It's ALIVE!" Lloyd shouted and the students whom were watching let out a grand applause. The workshop students all congratulated Lloyd whom was beaming at his accomplishment! "Look at me, I'm breaking records!" he laughed.

Lisanna was still hopping around and flailing in pain when suddenly, for no apparent reason, she began to feel a pleasant cooling sensation on her burns. She blinked and looked down. ”Oh!” She then said in surprise, noting the green glow of cure being used, and more importantly the little rabbit-like GF that sat by her feet. ”C-Carbuncle…! But that means…” Her eyes widened and she looked up just in time to see Kalay walk casually through the door with Riyel. Lisanna froze like a deer caught in the headlights, knowing full well that she was stood in her underwear. Suddenly the whole trauma of being burned seemed forgotten and she blushed and instinctively grabbed the first thing she could to cover herself, which happened to be Carbuncle, pulling the GF up and holding him against her body. He wasn’t really big enough to cover her too well though, and once Lisanna realised what she was doing with Kalay’s GF she felt suddenly bad for using him like that.

”Ah…Kalay…uhm…” She blushed even more, wondering why he didn’t seem very shocked or surprised to see her like that in the middle of the cafeteria. She gently lowered Carbuncle to the ground again and straightened up just as the other Instructor threw a towel at her. It landed on her head and she pulled it off with an embarrassed smile, clutching it to her chest so that it hung down and covered her a bit. ”Th-Thanks…” She muttered, slightly curious as to why he’d even bring a towel to the cafeteria but inwardly grateful that he had. ”I-I got burnt…I had to take off my dress so…uhm..” She awkwardly tried to explain, in response to his comment about her not being bashful. Did he think she’d just decided to strip for the fun of it?? She sighed and shook her head, thinking he could have at least been a bit more sympathetic. Joking about it hardly made her feel any better. Well….at least the burns had been healed thanks to Carbuncle. And the material of her dress was probably cool now, so she could put that back on even if it was stained. She’d just have to go and change. Her stomach grumbled in complaint at the thought of leaving the cafeteria though, seeing as how she hadn’t actually eaten anything yet. Well, that was too bad. Lisanna didn’t think she ever wanted to come back in this cafeteria again with how mortified she felt now.

Kalay was already walking away and Riyel was distracted eating, but a good portion of the room was unfortunately still staring at her after the spectacle they’d just witnessed. Lisanna tried not to think how many of those people staring were boys and instead looked around for her dress, knowing she’d flung it somewhere.
”Hm…” She couldn’t see it, so perhaps it had gone under the table? Sighing gently she got down on her knees and crawled underneath, temporarily disappearing from view. Gradually the students resumed their activities, eating and talking as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Meanwhile under the table there was a thump and a whimper, as if Lisanna had hit her head. However moments later she reappeared and stood up, tugging on her stained dress. She then grabbed her bow and, still clutching the towel, made for the exit whilst keeping her gaze fixed stubbornly at the floor to avoid eye contact with anyone. Her face felt like it was on fire from being so red. She hoped no one from outside the cafeteria would find out, but gossip tended to travel fast amongst students. It made her nervous to think of the next class she’d be teaching…

”Ah…” Almost at the door she paused, remembering she still had Kalay’s towel. Turning quickly she scanned the room until she spotted him getting food nearby and dashed over. ”H-Here…” She said timidly, holding out the towel to him and looking at the floor. Feeling so embarrassed she couldn’t say much else, so she waited for him to take it so that she could get out of there as quickly as possible. Her stomach growled faintly again, protesting, but Lisanna ignored it. Even if she starved she wasn’t coming back in here anytime soon.

Carbuncle didn't even try to resist as Lisanna grabbed him and used him to cover herself. In fact, Carbuncle just relaxed in Lisanna's arms as if he didn't mind the situation at all. It was just like Kalay though to not even react to Carbuncle being used as cover. While Lisanna felt bad about it though, Carbuncle seemed comfortable with it, and didn't seem to care in the slightest. Eventually, she lowered the GF, which sat on the ground next to her without any concern even as Lisanna pulled the towel from her head that she been thrown. Her reason for pulling off the dress didn't seem to phase Kalay, aside from perhaps the faint smirk on his face as he walked away to get food. he certainly seemed good at not reacting to things. He eventually got to getting his food while Carbuncle stayed with Lisanna, whom decided to crawl under the table to find her dress.

By the time Lisanna had gotten back out from beneath the table, Carbuncle was still sitting there with a content look on his face. He watched her before standing and falling in step behind her as she started to walk off, almost as if he was going to follow her instead of Kalay, for whatever reason. It was hard to say just what Carbuncle was doing in that moment. Still, there was a visible reaction when Lisanna turned around, Carbuncle turning with her as he followed in step with her back to Kalay, as if he knew where she was going. It was in that moment that Kalay had finished getting his food, which looked like a good deal more than what he would usually eat. During the pause of Carbuncle and Lisanna walking, he has briefly mentioned to Riyel he was just going to grab random food, not that it was a surprise with Kalay as that was what he usually did. He glanced over at her with a small loaf of bread sticking out of his mouth before glancing down at carbuncle who jumped up and took the towel from Lisanna's hand. This was followed by, in almost perfect unison, of Kalay grabbing Lisanna's wrist and tugging her after him as he walked to a table.

As he sat the tray down and patted the seat next to him, releasing Lisanna's hand, he got the chance to reach up and take the bread out of his mouth before giving her a faint smile. "Eat. I can hear your stomach growling." This was a rather forward motion by Kalay, since usually he didn't drag Lisanna around to make her do anything. It was in that moment that someone about Kalay's age walked up and whispered something to him, getting a nod before the young man walked off. Kalay acted like nothing had happened as he pushed about half of the items on his tray towards Lisanna, satisfying himself with eating butter and bread at the moment. Carbuncle chose to sit behind them, sitting on the towel like nothing was happening as Kalay rose his eyes to look at Riyel. "Riyel, we're going to Winhill after this with a few of the others. I'm supposed to take you all there to get suits for the ball." He chose to say this as bluntly as possible, and went back to eating, watching Riyel for his reaction to the words.

It felt good for Tae to stroke Ellale's head, in fact, enough so that Ellale almost tried to give out a purr, which she probably could have managed if she wanted to. Instead though she was silent, relaxing. Tae's remark got a chuckle from Ellale, whom looked up at her with a tired look "Too much activity for someone who should be in bed napping." She responded, though clearly in a good mood. She got up with Tae's help before testing how well she could stand. She was a bit unsteady, but she was doing okay. It helped that Tae was holding onto her to help her stand though, without the support, she probably would have slumped right back down to a sitting position. "nya! They might make them out of grass." She responded, teasing Tae back. Someone had to make grass dresses... right? It wasn't a sound argument at all, but it was like Ellale to make such an argument without hesitation.

"That sounds like a plan. We'll probably find Nona with Sophia, I think I saw her running after Sophia." Ellale said with a smile, her voice soft and clearly showing her exhaustion. She probably would sleep on the way to Winhill, as Tae had thought, after all Ellale shouldn't even have been up and about yet. She was pushing her limits already. The girl managed to walk with Tae though, using only as much aid as was needed to get to the dorms, even though by the time she got there she was having trouble staying focused on walking, which made her trip up a few times. She really needed to sleep, but so long as she was on her feet, she figured she'd be fine. And if Tae was helping her stand, all the more reason. It didn't take that long either for them to get to Sophia's room, though the door was closed meaning Tae would have to knock. Ellale might have tried if not for using Tae as a support to stand.

Riyel "The Quiet One" Vicaria

Now I think I understand
How this world can overcome a man
Like a friend we saw it through
In the end I gave my life for you
Gave you all I had to give
Found a place for me to rest my head
While I may be hard to find
Heard there's peace just on the other side

Not that I could or that I would
Let it burn under my skin, let it burn

Riyel ate quietly, simply not listening. His focus was on his food and whatever thoughts that happened to run through his spacing head. For a moment, he thought about saying something or another but in the end he held his tongue...at least until Kalay began to speak to him. At that, Riyel simply swallowed...right...the...Graduation Ball....wonderful. Really, he hadn't thought about it any more than Lloyd yammering his trap about it. And there was the whole...date...prospect...it simply was not gonna happen...or so he thought...but luck really wasn't in his own favor.

"Right..." he said quietly, "The...Ball....right..." He simply let it get to him...heck...maybe he could tag along with Lloyd or whatnot. For a moment, the young SEED sat there quietly, while thinking over what Kalay had said. Shaking his head of thoughts, he looked at Kalay one more..."Okay...sure."

I hope it's worth it
Here on the highway, yeah
I know you'll find your own way
When I'm not with you

So tell everybody
The ones who walk beside me, yeah
I hope you'll find your own way
When I'm not with you tonight

Lisanna didn’t notice Carbuncle following her at first, until she turned to go to Kalay and saw the little GF trotting at her feet. She blinked and paused for a moment before continuing, thinking it a little peculiar that Carbuncle should choose to follow her but not really minding. It was rather cute. Kalay looked silly with the bread sticking out of his mouth but Lisanna was still much too embarrassed by what had happened to tease him about it. She fidgeted awkwardly as she waited for him to take the towel so she could leave already. But then suddenly the towel was gone from her hands, the GF having jumped up to take it from her.

”Oh! H-Hey…” She attempted to protest as Kalay took her wrist and pulled her over to a table before sitting down with Riyel and patting the seat next to him. At his comment about hearing her stomach grumbling she wrapped her arms around herself, feeling self-conscious that he would notice something like that. For about a minute she stood there awkwardly, torn between whether to sit down and eat or leave. Eventually she sat down, looking down at the tray of food Kalay had pushed over and avoiding eye contact. She timidly picked up a piece of bread and raised it to her mouth with both hands, nibbling quietly. She was so focused on not looking at anything besides her food that she didn’t even notice as someone came up to whisper something to Kalay. She barely even heard to what he and Riyel were talking about, but then she heard the word ‘ball’ and flicked her gaze up for a moment.

”I wonder…what the girls are doing…” She muttered, more to herself than the guys. Lisanna frowned slightly, trying to remember if she actually had something to wear. To her knowledge she did not. Perhaps she could borrow a dress off someone…but who? Or should she go out and buy one? She glanced at Kalay before quickly looking down again and taking another small bite of bread. She couldn’t possibly go with the guys…that would be awkward. Especially since she was attending the ball with Kalay as well. The girl sighed softly and turned around to tear off a small piece of bread and place it gently on the floor near Carbuncle. She didn’t know if the GF would like it, or if he even ate at all, but she did it anyway.

Sophia got a little nervous when Nona got upset over the sound of Lloyds name. When Nona quickly let that topic go, Sophia let her. She didn't want to get on Nona's bad side. She didn't even know why she brought up Lloyd in the first place. She felt silly for even doing so. Sophia smiled at Nona when she sat down. She was glad that Nona was at least comfortable enough to sit down with her so they could talk.

Sophia watched Nona, noticing her uncomfortable posture and her slowly talking. She was obviously making a real effort to come here and ask what she was about it. It was actually starting to make Sophia herself nervous. Sophia hadn't been around Nona enough to know that Nona could be Socially awkward like Sophia herself. Now that Sophia really though about it though, Nona didn't seem close to anyone and the one guy who has made everyone his friend is her rival. It sort of made sense for Nona to be Socially awkward. A favor? What could Nona want from her? Then the word "ball" came out of her mouth. Sophia immediately got uncomfortable and looked down. Sophia didn't plan on going to the ball at all yet her Nona was planning on going and asking her to help her. Sophia could barley hear Nona when she said the last few words but she wouldn't make her say it again. I can do that.. I mean I don't have to buy a dress and go. She thought, smiling at Nona.

"S-sure. I know some good stores, we uhm could go now if you like, I didn't have anything planned.. " She said shyly and smiled. She got up and grabbed a light jacket, assuming that Nona would like to go now since the ball was tonight. "We could try on a few dresses and find the perfect one for you." She said as she grabbed the keys to her car. She was trying to make things as comfortable as possible for Nona, she knew this had to be hard for her.

Although the two hadn’t interacted much, it was hard to go around Winhill long without noticing Nona in some fashion. If Sophia thought about it, it seemed like this was the first time she’d ever seen the young woman red-faced from embarrassment. Indignation, she’d seen before. Rage, that was easy to call to mind from Nona. But not such a vulnerable emotion as this. She couldn’t even meet Sophia’s gaze until that answer came. When the girl agreed, Nona let out a breath suddenly, her shoulders sagging. That simple exchange had seemed more intimidating for the girl than anything Sophia saw her deal with on their mission.

But now it was done with. Sort of. The first step was always the hardest, right? Nona certainly hoped so as she stood up from the bed with Sophia while the other young woman got ready to go. Unfortunately for Nona’s own character, she was too wrapped up in her own discomfort to take notice of Sophia’s. For what may have been the first time since she had been transferred there, she left Winhill Garden without her guitar. Its absence was noticeable, but she didn’t want to head back to her own dorm just for a security blanket. She could deal with a couple of hours out with Vinginshy without it.

-Forty-five minutes later, in the town of Winhill-

”I said no pink, damnit!” snarled Nona as she chased away the attendant who had been helping them at Winhill Boutique. ”It’s not pink, miss, it’s salmon!” defended the poor woman as she fled the dressing room area, a soft pinkish party dress flying through the air after her. ”Shut up! I’m not showing up looking like a princess OR a fish!” Nona retorted, only giving up pursuit because it meant leaving the changing area in her underclothes. By the time she returned to Vinginshy, she was already regretting her outburst, but she stubbornly refused to admit it even when it was plain on her face. ”I told her at the start,” she grumbled without meeting Sophia’s eyes again, retreating into her dressing room with the gowns she had yet to try. Even as nervous as she was about this whole affair, Nona knew she was pushing things.

The finest clothing store in the small town didn’t have the most extensive section for this sort of attire, but the owner had realized that students at the new Garden would need party clothes and expanded his inventory before the academy opened. Sophia had known just where to go and had handled talking to the woman at the desk at first, but Nona had insistently added that she didn’t want any “stupid princess get-ups.” That specifically included no pink ballgowns.

”Maybe this was a bad idea...” she mumbled from inside; Sophia could hear her shuffling through the clothes she had picked out. It wasn’t like Nona to lose her nerve, but this was clearly new territory for her. ”I guess you already have everything you need. What are you wearing tonight?” she wondered. She didn’t like feeling inferior to anyone, but maybe if she had an idea of what someone, anyone else was wearing, she’d be able to accept one of these foreign garments as passable...

The hallway leading up to the headmaster's office had greatly changed since earlier, from the short, dramatic ceremony that took place. Before, the hallway had been decorated to be dark, obscure, mysterious. Now, however, the hallway was brightly lit, covered in decorations that sparkled and twinkled in the light.

The framed photos had been replaced, showing instead of memorable scenes of the years passed, group photos of past graduates, staff members, and other important officials. Tables that lined the walls which previously held vases filled with flowers, potpourri, and odd knickknacks that seemed to be objects of sentimental value had been replaced with snack bars and tables brimming with food that ranged from simple party food to restaurant quality entrees.

And where the hallway had been practically devoid of life, save for the still images that hung on the walls, the hallway was now filled with people, from students, to staff, and even officials whom had been invited to take part in the celebration, as well as see that everything was as it should be. Waiters and Waitresses stood by everywhere, holding trays that held glasses of juice and wine both, and hors d'oeuvres for those who felt like living it up a little.

Of the scene, which showed a startlingly different atmosphere from before, only one thing remained unchanged. The headmaster's office remained shut, only opening when members of the staff or visiting officials entered for a private word with the man behind the doors. For any who might have sneak a glance inside, they would have seen a familiar instructor on standby, and an older man seated at the desk beside him.

Despite the grand effort to spruce up the hallway, and make it as hospitable as possible, impatience grew on those who waited for the main event to start, the doors to hallways which led to the main room that the ball was being held were shut and locked, though why was questionable. Many wondered if the headmaster was just taking his time, or waiting for someone to arrive. For as packed as the hallway was, even for as spacious as it was, there were still quite a few faces missing from the crowd.
