And we wake up in the breakdown

Endellion tensed up, as Cael finally spoke up. 'And I would do it again... She thought, pausing a long moment as she looked into his eyes. She closed her eyes, brows drawing together for a long moment. She did know what it was like . . . she had been there. She had cried too . . .not in the war confrences. Not at the funeral. But locked away in her chambers, when things were quiet, and alone in the camp, when she got the news. She remembered Ara . . . she remembered everything.

"I know, Cael . . ." She said; almost whispered, opening her eyes to meet his once again. One hand had a tight grip on her elbow. "I was there . . . . . I saw." She finished, still calm, but tight lipped, eyes both bright and dark.

"I know how I sound Cael . . . but it is because I was there." She explained, chin stubbornly set, lips white. She closed her eyes for another moment and then looked away. She too had been hurt by the loss of Aratus . . . she felt the weight of all the deaths. Because she had not found them the clear path . .. not until it was too late. "Cael, I am sorry . . . I understand what you did . . .and I wish no suffering for Ara . . . but I do not want to loose anymore of us . . . Knowledge is power . . . and we all need as much as we can get." She said simply.

As she was about to continue, Tus spoke up, and she looked at him for a long moment. She straightened her glasses, and then her back and took a deep breath.

"Tus?!" She immediately broke in, waiting tersely for the explanation. 'Insomnia . .. it has to be." She thought, waiting for his confirmation . . . and then he ran. Endellion glanced around at all of the others. Rapidly, she closed her eyes, before crossing both hands over them. She focused, and a faint shimmer gathered under the skin. She dropped her hands, eyes snapping open, the urge that came from Pathfinder surging up. Ahead of her, starting on the ground at her feet and stretching after Tus was a glowing white line.

Endellion ran after Tus's receding silhouette.
"Tus, right!" She shouted, calling out at the top of her lungs. "I have the path!" She called after him, turning over her shoulder for a split second to gesture to the others. "Come on!"

I'm not the one who broke you
I'm not the one you should fear

Leith just stood staring wide-eyed at the terrible scene playing out before him. Everyone's emotions were flooding him in torrents and he found that he couldn't even speak, his entire body frozen. Insomnia and Alephonze were on the verge of attacking each other and everyone else was getting upset in one way or another. So why couldn't he stop it? Wh-.. what was going on? Anger was soon the main emotion in the area and it hit him so fast he almost shot into the near fight himself.. What the hell was wrong with him? Too many.. too many emotions were slipping past his defenses. His defenses that he had constructed so carefully were finally falling apart. His breathing turned shallow and his eyes went vacant as he pushed himself back into a final reserve of calm. Pull yourself together!!! Just stop the fight! That's what you're here for!! He couldn't move though, couldn't speak, the emotions all flooding him and taking over his thoughts until he didn't even know where he was.

Finally, words reached his ears once more and his eyes focused a little on Cael, who was speaking. Insomnia was gone and Aratus... Wait, what was up with Aratus? He didn't seem quite right.. Ara? Who was..? Oh. The Gemini could separate? Blinking a few times, he brought himself fully back to the present and found himself filled with instant shame. He was there to stop such things, to be the diplomatic one in all situations, and he just stood there frozen in the emotions.. Pathetic...

He may have been much younger but that gave him no excuse to let his empathy get the best of him like that... He should have been stronger and been able to control the emotions and step in to perform his duty. Instead, everyone else had to take care of it for him.. Like a small child that couldn't handle a simple task... His defenses against the emotions were all but shattered after all of those strong ones had crushed on top of his worry and stress. The lifting of some of that now that things were calmer left him felling weak and dizzy. "I..... I'm sorry......." he said quietly, not even knowing what the current conversation was wholly about at the moment. His hands started shaking slightly so he put them in his coat pockets to try and hide it but it was rather futile because the shaking began spreading up his arms. Oh gods was he ever pathetic.. Worthless at even his own duty as the Pieces...

Aratus.. or rather half of him gasped and then ran off, presumably to search for his other half. Then Endellion shouted that she had the path. Well he would not fail this time.. Taking a shaking step forward, he stood by Endellion, waiting for her to lead the way though he wasn't entirely certain that he could go much further than those couple of steps it took to reach her side without simply falling over. He was determined though to do at least something of use...

Endellion spoke quietly, and defended her point. He saw it, and he knew she saw his, but on this he was only going to agree to disagree. Then Tus was speaking, and it seemed like he was going to thank Cael for not telling Ara about the Scorpio's mission, before he stopped suddenly, grabbing his arm with a cry of pain. For a moment Cael was lost, before he remembered the way wounds and pain worked with the Twins. Tus ran in the direction he'd last seen Ara go, and Endellion ran overtook him so she could show him the path.

Cael was ready to leap after them, when he turned to Leith. He'd almost forgotten that the Pieces was there. Leith looked completely overwhelmed by the emotions of the group. He'd completely forgotten how sensitive he could be with his empathy. He cast a glance over his shoulder- Endellion and Tus were still running. But Leith was shaking, and looked a dizzy. He pulled one of Leith's hands over his shoulder, and one around the male's waist. "Leith, don't fight it, you'll make it worse. Lean on me, and take a deep breath. I'm sorry. I didn't notice what was going on. Come on, let's sit down until it stops, okay?" Empaths, especially young ones like Leith, often had problems like this. Even older empaths, in situations this heavy, would be overwhelmed to the point of fainting. He should get Leith sitting down and wait for his "attack"
to be over, perhaps turn him over to Ophelia, and then go see if Tus and Endellion had found out if Ara was okay.

Leith tried to start after Endellion but instead found himself being suddenly supported by Cael. "I.. I'm sorry." he managed to say. He allowed Cael to lead him to a place to sit and gratefully did so, if at least only for a moment. "We need to.. to go after them. Help find.." Words just kept getting harder to form and it scared him momentarily. What was happening? Leith had never experienced such a torrent of emotions before and he was unsure as though to what was going on. "I- I'll be okay... after.. after a minute. I'm sorry... I failed a...already.." he told him as he hung his head down. There he was having to get help to just sit down after a simple thing that he should have been able to handle.. It was only him, Cael, and a couple others so be should have been fine by then, the torrents passed. Instead, he found himself entirely exposed to every little feeling and even those small things lashed at him.

"We need.. to..." He had to go help, not just sit there like a complete weakling. So, stubbornly, he attempted to push himself back up, which ended up proving to be stupid. The world tilted sharply and he went straight back down with a small gasp of pain, one hand lightly gripping Cael's arm in an attempt to try and figure out which way was up. Giving a ragged sigh, he gave up. He was obviously going to be of no use.. again... "Just.. go on and help.... I'm sorry...." he said again. He just felt so entirely useless right then as he surely was. What good was an empath when they simply broke down when things got too tense, and a Diplomat that couldn't even stop a fight amongst his allies, let alone stop a whole war?

Insomnia stood with his hand still on the door, his back to Ara, even as he heard the other move away from where he was. Glancing over his shoulder, his pale green gaze found the Gemini's gray, a confusing emotion buried within them. He really didn't want to explain to the scion half why he had brought him into his section of the Celestial plane, and yet as he watched him back away, and ask in what seemed like a slightly fearful voice, he felt a twinge of painful guilt for having done what he had. However, he didn't plan on letting him go...even if it hurt to see the scion scared.

The scorpion had always respected Aratus, and could actually tolerate him the most out of all the Scions, and yet...

..And yet...

"Why? Is that what you really want to know..? I mean, do I really have to explain myself to you, when it should actually be rather obvious?"

The male said, his voice tight and slightly cold, despite the small hint of pain in his eyes. He had wondered all this time why the Gemini had avoided him, and though he still couldn't entirely figure it out, he still had to wonder if he had done something terrible he couldn't remember. 'Did I hurt him in the past? Did I attack someone that was important to him...and maybe everyone else? Or is it that he just never held an interest in me through all of my lives?' He thought to himself before shaking his head to snap out of his thoughts. His anger was still simmering, bubbling lightly beneath the surface of his skin and threatening to boil over if something small set him off. With a sigh, he turned around to actually face the other, and when he did, a small spark of that barely held back rage slid through.

Insomnia strode forward towards the scion half, and when he stopped, he was directly in front of him, his pale green graze becoming only slightly darker. He wanted some sort of answers, and he wouldn't give him a break until he could hear what he wanted to hear.

"So tell me...Gemini, why have I never noticed that you were actually two people? Actually, much more importantly, I must ask you..why you've decided, that you wouldn't acknowledge my presence even though, I'm sure it's obvious, that you are one of the only people that I actually respect? I mean, I've told you that myself before..."

He cut off, shaking his head and turning his gaze away, fingers curling in till nails met skin. His fists were shaking at his sides, anger, more then anything else present, even though, somewhere deep there was a raw pain at having everyone treat him as though he were nothing but a pile of offensive trash, or with a sort of, what he had assumed, was pity, every time he would stand somewhere near Aratus, or try and talk to him. He was over the secrets. Then again...he knew that another portion of the reason for bringing him there was a sense of curiosity towards the idea that Aratus could even split into two to begin with. The Scion had to wonder what that could do to the pair, and how pain, and emotions would be effected by the split.

His gaze drifted slowly back to Ara, though it never met his eyes. He was still too raw to want to risk gaining a rise in his anger near him. After all, Insomnia hadn't planned on doing the other harm..and in truth though he had a few vague reasons behind why he brought him into his quarters, he really had only followed a sort of instinct that had told him what to do.

Alyssia slid slightly away from the group as things started to escalate, her gaze dropping to the ground while she just allowed everything to progress the way that it was. She felt bad for stepping out, but she didn't want to risk rising the tempers that were already flaring, up any further. However, when Tus and Endellion ran off, she did lift her eyes to take in her surroundings. When she did, she came to the realization that things were actually a lot worse then she had assumed.

"Oh dear..I really should have been paying attention.."

She said to herself softly as her golden gaze landed on the forms of Leith and Cael. It seemed that something was wrong with the empath, and that Leo had stepped forward to try and calm him down. However, she was sure that the others would need the guardian more then those of whom had remained behind. Not to mention, she had the feeling that Leith would probably need help from someone who was calm and could actually calm others down. With a small smile, she approached the two.

"Cael..I'll take care of this...why don't you go on ahead to where the others have run off to. i'm sure they need your help..especially if it deals with Scorpio."

She said softly before glancing towards Leith, and gently placing a hand on his shoulder. She was hoping that she could at least calm him down a bit, if not mostly. With a gentle smile, she crouched down in front of the Pisces, and tried to meet his gaze.

((sorry if it's not quite up to par with my other posts, I just wanted to get something down for her and figured that if Cael had to go to where the others were, it would solve the problem. not to mention Alyssia is able to calm people a little.))

Ara had the urge to run when Insomnia approached him, but it would have been useless. He couldn't leave unless Insomnia let him and from what he could tell that wasn't going to be anytime soon. Tus isn't going to be happy about this, he thought. Most of the time Tus dealt with Insomnia. He thought it would be better if they didn't have contact. He had always thought it was because Insomnia disliked him over what happened in the last war and Tus never gave him a reason. Thinking about that now it didn't make much sense to Ara if what Insomnia said was true.

He didn't know what to do and Insomnia was still waiting for an answer. I'm so confused...he thought. Frustrated he ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't know what your talking about." He said, wishing Tus was here.

xxxxAlistair stared at the sights that played out before him. As the arguing commenced, the Aries began to feel uncomfortable. He mindlessly stroked the crystal he received from Ophelia with the tip of his thumb. It was cool to the touch, and felt almost alive, as if a current were moving inside the solid mass.

Edellion, Alephonze, and Insomnia all lashed out of each other. Feelings of anger, despair, regret, and irritation flared up all around him. He may not have been as strong as his companion Leith, but the ram could steadily feel the hostile emotions colliding with each other.

He escaped inside the depths of his mind, trying to find any way to escape the negative feelings he felt from the people he considered his family. He hated when fighting stared between themselves, even though he was guilty of starting his fair share due to his infamous temperament. His eyes snapped open in time to see Aratus separate for the first time in centuries. He was kind of excited to see that they finally split, but not for the reason that they did.

There was so much information to take in right now, Insomnia running off with Ara, Tus and Endellion giving chase, Leith almost passing out through the mass swarm of emotions. It was just so much to take in. He collapsed to his feet and hung his head low. They were fighting with themselves, when they were supposed to be preparing themselves for war against the others.Psychological warfare, possibly? He didn't know, but he knew they had to keep control and stay calm otherwise they would lose without even trying.

Alephonze The Protector KaidoUser Image

Alephonze was still truthfully reeling from the arguement but he was attempting to calm down, how could he be so foolish as to allow himself to lose control on Scorpio. As he backed away to the column where he made himself stand, he cursed his actions. He knew he was focusing on the past he could feel his contempt every time his eyes met Insomnia. It wasn't his fault, Insomnia never did anything directly to Alephonze to bring this about. Alephonze could only remember having a disdain for the male upon first sight. As Alephonze closed his eyes and leaned forward his hand on the column trying to make himself calm an image of himself as a youth standing in the grassy fields of the courtyard a slightly larger male standing beside him a hand on his shoulder.

The cracked column split into as Alephonze gripped it tightly, as the top half broke away and collapsed to the ground Alephonze came back to himself and snapped his eyes open. Near the same time Tus gasped in pain drawing Alephonze's attention. If Tus was hurting then Ara must have taken an injury, but that was impossible Ara was with...Insomnia! Endellion gave them a gesture to follow and immediately Alephonze took off after her without fail. Insomnia may have done something, he didn't know the situation but he knew if he had, the fact that Alephonze contributed to overwhelming him meant that he was partially at falt.

"...So watch it"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 17, 2012 2:42 pm

Insomnia remained the way he was at first, with his gaze towards but not directly on the twin that stood before him. However, that didn't mean he didn't hear his response, or take in his actions. 'That's not what I wanted to hear...nor can I honestly believe that he doesn't know what I'm talking about.' He thought to himself, his anger finding it's way through his grasp and snapping. The scion lifted his gaze to the others, and the pale green became dark with the emotion.

"You don't know what I'm talking about? You don't know..? How is that even possible!? How is it that you don't notice that you yourself, or the whole you if you must, avoids me!? How do you not remember that I told you about me holding a respect for you?!"

He said, his rage causing his voice to shake. Usually Scorpio's were good at hiding their emotions, and yet, for some reason, that day just wasn't on his side. The scion could feel the flames rolling beneath his flesh, but he at least kept them down...though that did nothing for his anger as his body protested against the action. The male knew why it hurt so horridly when he tried to use or hold back the element, but he still didn't understand how the mistake had occurred. He was meant to hold the element of water, seeing how that was his natural alignment, and yet he had some how ended up with sun fire. That alone probably played a major role in why he had been reborn with the temper that he had.

The scion reached out and grabbed hold of the front of Ara's shirt, using it to hold him in place

"I think, you're lying!"

He snapped before his anger got the better of him and he suddenly lashed out, swinging his fist at the others face. The hand he had used, was the one that no longer held the gloves in place, and the heat in his skin still hadn't cooled enough to not burn some. Insomnia hadn't planned on hurting the other, he really hadn't..and yet it obviously had turned out differently. At the moment though, he felt no remorse for doing what he had done.

Ara gasped when Insomnia grabbed him. The rage he saw in his eyes terrified him, but his head snapped to the side when Insomnia hit him. He could feel blood start to trickle down his chin. That's not good...I should probably do something about that, he thought, reaching up and wiping away some of the blood. He noticed the burn mark on his wrist from where Insomnia grabbed him. Damn...How did I get that? He pulled his sleeve down so he could see it better. It was in the shape of a hand. "You burned me..." He muttered quietly. There was probably one on his face too. So much for Tus not knowing I'm injured, he thought, pulling his sleeve over the burn. There wasn't anything he could do about it now.

Returning his focus back to Insmonia, he pulled at his hand. "I'm sorry, but I'm not lying." He said, wrenching free of his grasp, tearing some of the buttons off his shirt in the process. "I would remember something like that." Especially since all this time I've been afraid you hate me, he thought, but there was no way he was going to admit that, not right now when he was angry.

"It was probably Tus you talked too." He muttered. He didn't like the idea that Tus had purposely not told him when he knew how much this would have meant to him.

<<=====::=====>>

Tus followed the path Endellion had set for him. Please don't let it be where I think it is, he thought, running as fast as he could. The pain in his arm was only a dull throb now.

Eventually, he stopped in front of the one thing he didn't want to see, Insomnia's door. Tus screamed and kicked it. How dare he...after all I went through to keep them apart. He had always disliked the last Scorpio and that only increases after he died, causing Ara so much pain. He never wanted that to happen again. Why did he have to take Ara? He wondered, pounding on the door. He stopped when he felt a familiar burn, except this time it was on his face. He let out a soft gasp as it spread to cover most of his jaw. There was nothing he could do except wait for the others.

Endellion sprinted. She was not as fast as Tus, nor would she ever be, but she had one advantage- certainty. She knew which way to turn before she reached each corner, and she never slowed or faltered, tracing the line of white light unerringly. She could hear Tus, and then the heavier steps of another coming after her. If she needed help, she knew she would have it . . . if they ended up where she was starting to fear they would, one of them, faster than her, could call for help. She slowed down and the final turns approached, stopping, slightly winded and grim faced before Insomnia's door. The white line was gone, and she simply stared for a long moment at Tus darted past her with scream of rage to kick and pound on the door. 'Oh, damn it all... She thought. War is on our door, half of us haven't showed up yet, everyone but Alyssia is either anxious or upset, and now Insomnia has Ara. Tus gasped softly, and Endellion stepped forward, turning to look at him.

"What is it, Tus? What did Insomnia do to him?" She asked, steady dark eyes searching his face. 'Please nothing bad . . . Insomnia, don't you dare mess with him. She waited for the answer, but she was already calculating.

According to Alyssia, Insomnia was exhausted and starving . . . he hadn't stopped for food, nor any kind of help from Ophelia. He couldn't be in good shape. Even if he rested first, which seemed unlikely, while holding Ara, he couldn't stay in his quarters long. But if he was hurting Ara, could they afford to wait that long? No one had ever managed to get into another Scion's chambers without the key, not as long as she had been Scion....If there was a way though, Alyssia would know it. Endellion glanced from Tus to Alephonze who had been hot on their heels. Alephonze could handle himself, she knew, but Tus . . . Alyssia's calming influence could only help, while they had to wait here for Insomnia's exit. Where was Cael? She didn't know what had kept him, but it couldn't be good. Between herself and Tus, they could watch the door. . . but if an angry Insomnia emerged they would be in trouble. So she couldn't send Alephonze for the backup. She sighed and closed her eyes, pressing her palms together in front of her.

"Voco spiritum meum signum
."
She recited clearly. A moment later, Sen in all his shaggy white enormity trotted around the corner. She gave him a brisk bow from the waist to which the goat bleated once. As he approached, she hurried toward him.

"I'm sorry Sen, but there's no time for explanations. I need you to find Alyssia, and Cael, if you can, and bring them back here . . . I know you don't like to run, but I need them as swiftly as possible...and be nice." She told him, tacking on the last bit as an after thought. He stared up at her with his yellow goat's eyes for a moment. So great was his size that they were only a handful of inches below her own. He stomped one foot, a sign of agreement.

"Fine. I'll be back." He stated simply, his low voice deep and somewhat gravelly. He sounded, more than anything, like an aging man who was used to occupying a station of considerable authority. Then he turned and ran back the way Endellion had come, his hooves clattering loudly on the floor.

She turned back to the door.

"I'm sorry Cael, but this can't wait for you to catch up . . . Tus, please back up. I'm going to close in the door. When Insomnia opens that door, we will get Ara back." She said, staring intently at the door with harsh eyes from where she stood.

Endellion took a few deep, steady, even breaths. She couldn't remember the last time things had come to such force as this between the Scions . . .. she also couldn't remember the last time Ara or Tus had emerged for longer than required. She could remember Ara's face though, just the way she had seen it from the fortified walls that protected their camp, where she had waited during the last war. If it came once again to battle, she decided, at least one thing would be different. She was the Cardinal of the Earth. And she was going to work much, much harder to make sure that no one else died.

Leith §The Diplomat§ Pisces

Leith took deep, calming breaths, trying to get his thoughts back in order when he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder. He glanced up briefly to find Alyssia but he just couldn't make himself meet her gaze.. This was his fault for letting the emotions break through like that.. Speaking of which.. "Insomnia... He's still enraged and he's hurting someone.. We need to help.." he said suddenly, the emotions reaching him even from their distance in his current vulnerable state. It would help no one, he decided, to sit there thinking of himself while others were in trouble. Helping them was much more important than his own pathetic weakness. He placed his hand onto Alyssia's to let her know that he appreciated her concern before taking another deep breath. Using all of his remaining strength and determination, Leith pushed himself back up to stand. Thankfully, he remained standing, if not a bit shakily. Scanning around quickly, he found himself too disoriented at that moment to even figure out which way Endellion, Alephonze, and the apparent half of Aratus had run off in. Looking around again in a vain attempt to orient himself, he saw Alistair in a condition to what he thought might be similar to his own..
