Another yelp as the arrow nicked him. This time his toe. Hey, that really stung something fierce @ n@!!!! Well, not that he could blame his bro since, well, Before was just standing there. Teal eyes blinked as the cogs in his head slowly processed the situation. Oh well, what Bix said totes made sense! Madison wasn't telling them to wait but her weapon!
Before, unfortunately, came to the conclusion a little too late and was greeted with a blade to his side. Right where Candace had sliced him a few days ago @A@!!!! When Vanna bounced back from the first block, Before spun with the momentum, pulling himself away from the blade rather than waiting for Madison to pull her weapon out of him. Adjusting his hold on Vanna, his center of gravity shifted, allowing him to make another strike. He was going for her shoulders but the damage done to him messed up his aim and ended up striking her arms.

When it seemed like the whole ordeal was over as far as attacking went he stood aside and tilted his head to the side - it was all for a question and answer session? Well, alright. It was probably a lot better than whatever Caelius was going to do, which was probably end them all just because it amused him to do so. He desummoned his weapon and crossed his arms over his chest and just listened as everyone came up with their questions.
...He had none himself and any he might have had were brought up.
Intently Jude listened to the answers that were given off and noted that there wasn't quite ten questions asked and shifted his shoulders a bit in unease. He supposed if he wasn't curious then others weren't either he was about to protest or at least ask one of his own when it was suddenly time for them to pair off and spar until Ben was interrupted.
Not everyone seemed interested in sparring as a few of them left off to go find food. Jude turned to watch the others as they began in on their spar and simply observed some more.
'You should join them, My Pretty Jude!' Yom almost seemed to be pleading at this point. Too long he had ignored her and now she was speaking up a bit louder than normal.
'Maybe...' replied he replied to her thoughtfully.
'Take initiative!' Yom insisted.
'I guess,' was his only response to her prodding.
There was a groan from within his mind from Yom as he seemed resistant to taking part in interacting with others on his own. Honestly it was so difficult to get him to do something interesting, it almost annoyed her to distraction as she tried to gently prod him to do something - anything at all.
'Mossss is icky, Missster Stubborn Rock.' She observed with a bored tone. Honestly she hoped he'd do something more interesting when she picked him.
'What?' Jude asked as he was momentarily baffled by this gem of 'wisdom'.
'Nothing.' Yom hummed softly.
Now it was Jude's turn to be annoyed as his expression darkened a bit with the lack of explanation from his counterpart on whatever she was talking about. He reached up and scratched at his jaw as he watched the sparring for a moment or two longer, "I guess I'll go get coffee."
Sparring can be done after a cup of coffee and some alone time.
'It isss alwaysss alone time with you,' Yom complained in a whining tone.
'Shush.' Jude snapped at her irritably.
'Never!' She crowed defiantly.
At that point Yom began to chatter at him about everything and anything she could think of at all and most of it made no sense as she began to speed up how she talked and soon it was just a useless white noise that he tried to just simply block out right now with an annoyed grunt. As he turned around and started to wander away from the area so he could seek out some coffee.
There was a pause as he gazed back at those that were left, "If you all want to spar or practice with me later, you...can seek me out I guess," he muttered quietly. Jude wasn't certain as to how many of them knew where his room was or even cared to know where his room was, though if one knocked on enough doors they'd find him eventually either in his room or somewhere else he really wasn't concerned with trivialities.
With that he continued to walk out of the area to get some of that tasty, tasty coffee into his system while he continued to ignore the defiant chatter of his weapon.

As they wore eachother down, Bix debated stopping his volleys but he admonished by his weapon.
Remember the battle Bix. Even if it's ssssseems unfair, playing dirty is always an option.
Bix didn't like the logic of his weapon but he couldn't fault it.
"You guys are doing good. Keep it up. Keep on your toes! Not all fights are fair!"
His arrows once again knicked their legs.. was that statement his justification for hitting them by accident?

Kouki was really hissing now, his fury at not being allowed to 'bite' much more than a mere distraction. Madison hardly noticed the p***k of Bix's arrow this time (though it most definitely hit her). She stumbled with the force of Before's attack, jabbing one blade under the wheel at her opponent's thigh as she tried to close the distance between them. Without room to move, he couldn't swing his weapon as hard, right? Damage: 1 Target: Before HP: 10/40

A high-pitched yelp indicated Before was once again hit by Bix's arrows. Damn his Bro had good aim ;^;
While Before couldn't wield Vanna easily with such little space between him and Madison, the male life hunter trainee made up for it with flailing limbs as he tried to distance himself from his opponent. Somehow, he felt his elbow collide with something. Thankfully it was hard so that immediately ruled out any accident boob-touching...
"U-uh, one last round then we-" a low rumble from Before's stomach explained his suggestion. It wasn't because he was faring better than Madison, of course not!

"If you guys want me to stop..." Bix murmured it, not too loud, because in his head Mina was yelling at him for being a softy. Of course at any time his friends could turn and attack him as well but he hadn't thought of if yet if they had. "I mean.." The screeching quetz in his head told him to suck it up and be a killer, even if it was his friends. "Keep it going!! Eff eachother up or whatever!" He was having a hard time with the whole 'belittling' thing if only because he couldn't think of what to say. This time his arrows dotted the ground around their toes but he didn't hit anyone. It was actually more of a challenge NOT to hit them. [MISS]

Ariane had been surprisingly quiet as she watched the others spar; or rather, she seemed to be watching them, but her eyes were pretty vacant, staring at nothing in particular.
Normally, she would be into sparring and training and generally trying to beat people up, but today? She was actually pondering about Ben's answer to her question; she had thought that being slotted into the Death faction meant that the faculty had decided that she was somehow better at collecting Intel than she was at the other tasks performed by the other factions; it had never really occurred to her that she might need to conform and learn how to be good at what her faction does.
Of course, that would explain why they had slotted Before - the self-proclaimed meat shield and does-not-think-before-doing liability - into the Life faction... Then again, the head of the Life faction was a rather sadistic man, who seemed to have more fun and enjoyment with torturing others and having fun at the expense of his underlings than preserving life... Or so goes the rumors, anyway. She had yet to speak to the man herself.
If he was anything like Caelius though...
She sighed, flopping on the ground, leaning back and using her elbows to support herself as she lifted her head; she wanted to prove herself to be a capable hunter, and she thought that being slotted into the Death faction would help her with that; after all, she had spent a great deal of time chasing after the supernatural with her childhood buddies, and had done a ton of research regarding urban legends and scary stories... They had never scared her as a kid. She was the kid who checked under her bed because a small part of her wished that there was something lurking there.
Now that she was actually part of DeM, now that she was actually seeing these monsters and creatures of Halloween face to face? She wished that she could make something out of it...
'Hey, I kind of gave up my old life for this. I'm allowed to get all sentimental and emo and s**t,' She couldn't resist chuckling, poking Kintama idly as she grinned, glancing at where the trainees - the strays - were training, humming as she shrugged, 'Not that my old life was that great. It was boring and uneventful... I didn't have many friends-'
'Oh shut up. They were all losers anyway. All they cared about were things like the latest fashion, the newest music, who's dating who, who's topping the class in each module... Or who's on top of the one topping the class, if you know what I mean?'
'That's one way to put it.'
Taking one last look at the sparring trainees, she slipped away; maybe another day, another time.

"Okay, okay, wait, I give," Madison said, lowering her blades; immediately, Kouki started pitching a fit, hissing incoherently about wanting to bite. Ugh, she could barely think like this! "I don't know if I can take another hit - oh my god shut UP, Kouki.... ugh, hang on." The trainee sighed, then turned to face one of the training dummies. "Fine. Go ahead. Bite." Kouki let out a hissing shriek of delight as the blades rose into the air, flying towards a training dummy. Madison, however, merely sighed and watched... Missed!How the hell could all four of them miss a target that was just standing there?! You weren't helping, Kouki said, sulkily, as the blades returned to their scabbards. "Uh. Well." She turned to the other two, looking embarrassed. "I guess those don't work so well if the Hunter doesn't care..." Damage: ka-miss! Target: A TRAINING DUMMY HOORAY HP: 6/40

This is the series of expression Before made: OwO -> O.O -> xAx -> >.o -> ?_? starting from the encouragement of Bix to "eff each other up" then to Madison declaring her surrender, then at the sight of ALL THOSE BLADES!!!! Trying to turn him into Swiss cheese. And... missing? Looks like there had to be something to just standing still like an idiot... because this was the second time an attack like that missed him just for not moving around.
CLAIM YOUR VENGEANCE BEFORE!!! CLAIM IT I DEMAND IT!
B-but I'm hungry and she did say she can't go on..
DOESN'T MATTER! GO! WIELD MEEEEE!!! Vanna ordered.
It was a halfhearted swing, and a massive MISS. "Let's just call it a draw because I am way too starving..." he suggested to Bix and Madison. "Besides, wouldn't want any of us to miss breakfast just 'cuz we had to go to Dr. H or something..." he shuddered.

Bix watched Madison chuck her swords but he just relaxed and chuckled. He desummoned his bow and rolled his shoulders a bit. "Did you say breakfast?" His stomach growled. "That sounds awesome actually." That was so unsatisfying.. Mina moped. "RACE YOU." He was a dweeb... but he was also off running and he was going to win. [EXIT]

Breakfast did sound pretty awesome. "Agreed," Madison said, unsummoning Kouki; the swords and their scabbards vanished in a flare of light, only to re-form as beads orbiting one wrist. "Good fight, though. Thanks, guys." She smiled at both of them. She'd done fairly well for herself, she thought.
And then Bix set off across the field. "Hey! That's cheating!" she shouted after him. He hadn't just been fighting and gotten all tired! So cheating. Still, with a hey, you coming? gesture at Before, she started after Bix. "Get back here!"
