The young Queen nudged her bonded as the two (one groaning at having to get wet while being out here) sloshed into the stream and over to the other side. Narisa herself thanked Pipith as Cepheith spotted what Asoth had. A second gouge in the ground, almost like something had been digging. She swiveled her head around to take a look around them, but saw nothing. But where she saw nothing, Pipith seemed to have spotted a trail. The gold pair started to follow the others down the trail, Narisa keeping one hand on Cepheith at all times as the fog rolled in again.
At the shriek, Cepheith hissed, wings flaring out a little and keeping Hers close. A very faint bit of white started to tint her eyes as well. Narisa jumped, giving herself a minute to lower her heart rate before rubbing Cepheith's neck to calm her.

What was that? Shrieking was usually not a good thing! Pipith rumbled ominous and flared his wings, looking for the source of the noise. It should come out and face him!
Stay behind me, the bronze urged the others. He would protect them all! ...but especially the Queen.

S'koi did not like the sound of that shriek, and he and Laith quickened their pace to get closer to the group. It seemed that they had crossed a small stream... Perhaps they were getting close to whatever it was they were seeking. Let us get closer in to the others, Laith. We won't be of much help to them from back here. The green agreed, and they continued their near-silent trek through the forest.

S'kiro and his moved onto the other bank. He let the young queen and brown move past. It would be for the best. There was a shriek and the flits started to chirp and flare their wings out. They did not like that sound, but they had Neptanth to protect them...So they would stay.
S'kiro and Neptanth looked around for the direction the sounds came from. Their eyes scanning up and down, left and right. The blue bulged at the sound. It wasn't right for it to scare them like that!

It seems that S'kiro and Neptanth just happened to look in the right direction, although anywone else in the group whose sweeping gaze turned towards the sound would be unlikely to miss the hulking shadowy form that seemed to be hiding out underneath some low slung bushes. However as people approach the form or seem to eye it to closely it shrinks back into the brush with a few annoyed clicking sounds.

Asoth noted that S'kiro and Neptanth found something and he informed M'lan, both he and his Rider peered into the darkness and stepped forwards, annoyed that it shrank back "Wait... come back...." he said quietly... wanting to find the creature... clicking sounds were ... different.

S'kiro and Neptanth were surprised to find something in the bushes. They caught themselves on making a loud announcement and the blue sent out a message to the rest. The young rider watched as it shrank back when approached or looked at too closely. Vaugley he remembered a time at the Beastcrafter hold when they needed to round up a frightened one.
He looked at his flits, wondering if they would understand his suggestion. He rubbed the little golds eye ridges and sent her the image of her and the boys going around it like they were hunting. They disappeared and he prayed that it worked, other wise they would be back in the barracks, mad at him. "Was that wise? They could be hurt or worse." Worry in his tone for his small cousins.

Cepheith nodded towards Pipith and the gold pair stayed close but behind the bronze. It was wiser, in the gold's opinion, since he was taller and bigger than the rest of them. If anything were to come at the, Pipith could see it first and warn them. She was still on alert though, after hearing that shriek. And even more so when Neptanth and His spotted something. Is that it? The creature making such noise that we've been following? It seemed to shy away as everyone got closer however.
"Maybe some of us should hang back?" Narisa suggested. "And not crowd it. Just in case it gets desperate and attacks because we made it feel threatened?" Cepheith rumbled approval at this, stopping where she stood. Her gaze was locked on whatever this creature was, but she hung back.

The small bronze was quite put off that the whatever-it-was refused to come out, and hissed his annoyance at it. Come out, thing! Show yourself! The clicking creature was going to get no gentleness from impatient Pipith. They'd come all the way out here in the dark to see it, and it should sharding well come out!
Set'al sighed. Don't push it too hard, Pip, or you might regret it.

Relys and Relysk had followed behind everyone else. The riders were doing a good enough job of tracking it without him. He did try to get a glimps of the creature though it hid well.

Despite Cepheith and Narisa's words and Rely's peering it seemed the damage had already been done and the creature had disappeared again into the darkness. However as everyone was distracted and starring at the place where it had been it seemed like the creature had snuck around behind them...and Took off with the log!
whatever it was beat a hasty retreat through the brush sending branches swaying and tree limbs snapping as it headed straight back to the Weyr proper! The group would have to hurry if they wanted to either stop it or get there in time to help with whatever mischief it wanted to cause.
((Congrats to Magna for gaining the point, Everyone roll another d100 for the last time! ))

Hey! Hey, where was it going?! How dare it not listen to him, and...and steal a log! Pipith left it to his rider to wonder why the creature had stolen the log while he attempted to give chase - hindered not only by the fact that he'd put himself in front of others, which meant he was now behind them, but also by the terrain itself. Being big (relatively speaking) had certain disadvantages!

The Weyr! the weyr! it's heading back!!" Yelled Asoth to everyone moments after Relys and his Wher spotted the thing moving off again. He bugled and gave chase, not getting far before his excitement caused him to stumble. M'lan rolled his eyes "How many times..... calm down Asoth.. it's better to be a little slower." he said, helping his dragon up carefully and following him towards the weyr.

While agreeing with Narisa, it seemed the being disappeared on them. His flits returned, sending images of the log moving. S'kiro turned around to look for the long. Neptanth turned to listen to the branches snapping. "Mine, to the WEYR! Hurry. The blue started moving past the others, he was intent on getting this thing before it got close to the Weyr.
S'kiro ran to the blue's side. "My dear, we can't just rush into it. We need to plan with the rest."
