Through the sandshrew wouldn't move as the bite makes her flinch. Her entire body went still as the pain in her tail made her quiver despite how hard she tried to stop it. Her eyes closed ...as she touches the spot with tears in her eyes. She never once expected that she would get hurt so badly ...her tail was bitten all the way through and she acknowledge that if she didn't bleed to death ....the tail might fall off if it doesn't scar completely over.
The entire idea made her sick and for a moment stop her from making any kind of moves to attack her opponent.

The scent of blood would bring other predators as a Purrloin climb through the trees. His slick fur helped to hide him in darkness as he stops and notices the girl's frantic run through the forest. She was hurt obviously, but he couldn't make a meal out of her ...somehow in his mind it didn't seem right as he continued forward towards the source of the blood and to his surprise ...a bird on the ground.
There would be another fight this night, but ....maybe this time the odds wouldn't be so much in the Vullaby's favor. For in this forest, the law of nature was very much alive and well.

Riku saw that her pokemon was going to attack and finish off the pokemon but the girl waved at him to stop. She reached into her pack, digging around and then pulling out a pokeball. Clicking the center and it popped into normal size, the girl tossed it at the Sandshrew while it was standing there frozen.
The Larvitar was a little annoyed but shrugged it off. He had wanted to finish the pokemon and he would if the pokeball wasn't successful. It had been a long fight and he was tired and his wounds were stinging badly. Glaring at the Sandshrew, he watched ready to protect his trainer should the ball fail and it attacked.

::But it wasn't tiredness. It wasn't inspiration, or even a good idea... she bit her lip and looked back at where she had just run from... ::
::Something inside her said no... but if she intended on doing anything right, she had always promised she would do it... she would go back, she would watch the Cherubi being eaten, to remind herself, that this was her fault::
::Remember it and bury it at least with dignity... she could wait without fighitng::
::That was what she told herself at least... because that was when she saw the sight, the Vullaby and the Purrloin...::
::And her eyes shone at the sight of the cat::
::She had found a new target::
::For this, she would need to wait, left huddled among the foliage to see the victor..::

There was no contest here as the pokeball hit her on the side of her snout and she yelp in fear and pain. She knew with a wound like hers ...her life was over, but as the pokeball spun and the red light suck her back in ....her eyes went wide. Maybe it wasn't over ....but maybe something different ....as she vanishes into the pokeball and it hits the ground.
Rolling lightly ...it came to a stop in the desert sands as it rocks once, twice, and a final hard time before it went still. She had managed to capture a sandshrew.

((I am not sure, if your rolls are horrible or lucky at this point. Well, this would be the first time I tried this, but this is going to be very interesting indeed. And you get to help with this one ...I am going to place up the pokemon's stats and roll the dice for both. YOu will do the same until the battle literally comes to an end.))

The Vullaby was feasting when the movements of leaves made her spin around. She would find herself facing another hunter in this land, and though she is normally a scavenger whom would leave the prey to save her life she could see it in the Purrloin's eyes it wasn't the dead remains of a Cherubi he wanted.
The purple cat purred loudly at his luck.
He had never thought he would find a Vullaby that was so busy feasting that it didn't have the good sense to only take it's share and run. The bird's tiny wings were folded protectively over the body of her kill and as he slinks towards her instead of running away she turned to fight.
It was better that way in his mind. He had no plans of letting the Vullaby get away anyway. The two would attack together as claws would come out and as the Purrloin lashes out with scratch and the Vullaby would use gust to try and throw the cat away.

Riku rushed forward, hugging her Larvitar. When she felt it wince in her arms, she looked at him sheepishly and apologetically. The girl had forgotten the injuries that he had substained during battle. Rummaging through her bag, she spotted the potion that her Professor had given her. She sprayed it on her pokemon, knowing that he needed to be in full health in case they ran into anything else.
"You were amazing!" she exclaimed, hugging him again.
The Larvitar felt much better after his trainer sprayed him with the potion. He then looked happy because he had won the battle. He never let his guard down though, looking around cautiously. Who knew what other pokemon would be out and they might be attracted by the smell of his blood and the Sandshrews that now stained the ground. They would have to move quickly away from this place to avoid getting caught by something bigger or worse.

::The two may have struck together, but as Jasmine watched on, it was claws that beat feathers, the cat had won, but pounced further, wheeling round now as battle was properly joined, spitting feathers out with an arrogant smirk at the buzzard::
::The Vullaby meanwhile, cawed it's distaste at the cat, bird and feline, it was a rivalry of ages old, traditionally more in the feline's favor, but she wasn't about to pass up a meal for the sake of this one, not while she could beat it back, her eyes glowered, as she went to try and get rid of the cat, her eyes unleashing a Leering red on the Purrloin!::
::And the cat? He wasn't about to let the bird gain advantage, there was a glint in its eyes as well, a cheshire cat grin as he meowled, raising his hind and then crying out, as rustling began in the trees, all around them, even Jasmine would need to look up, before all of a sudden, something fell::
::It wasn't reinforcements... but something shining, something falling all around the pair, if this didn't hit the bird it would certainly distract the bird, as Pay Day now showed itself, as coins began raining upon them!::

Now healed, the way forward lay clear. The desert sands blow though ..make it clear even thought he path was clear it wasn't going to be easy. The blood that they would leave behind would mark the entrances to their exit ... a walk forward would also require a walk back in the end.

The leer would force the Purrloin to look away as his attack failed miserably. The coins hitting the trees instead of hitting the Vullaby as they got stuck there ...the pokemon hadn't felt anything, and the counter luckily enough wasn't met with a counter of the Vullaby's own. Otherwise, there would be two bodies on the ground ...as the pokemon hissed loudly at his opponent and the Vullaby though missing a few feathers would step forward once more.
There would be no more counters for a while as she looked for the incoming attack as the Purrloin would try again ...with his claws out as he lunge at her. She would simply own her wings and try to make herself look bigger as she puffs out and moves to the side ...hoping that the false illusion of size would make his claws miss the mark entirely and allow her to slip away without harm.
She had bested one today without any injuries, she would do the same with this cat.

The pair continued onward now that the Larvitar was back at full health. The sun was still roaring, shining and radiating heat making it still very hot. Despite the time that it had taken for the battle, the sun did not seem to lessen with it's power. The girl looked a little weary, but was glad the battle had been successful. Her Larvitar was walking proudly- or so she thought. The two continued walking through the barren wasteland, hoping to figure out the mystery of the riddle the Professor had given.

The sun's intensity in fact seemed to get stronger as she move onwards through the desert. This time there was nothing to interfere except for her own weakness as the sun continues to shine down on them. The air so hot that it threaten to burn one's lungs from within and the area in front of her would actually seem to wavier with the heat of it all.
Water would be impossible to find here, and how long would it be before if not the pokemon but the trainer found herself in need of that.

The cat was agile as he seemed to twist in the air and even in the midst of the gust of wind land on his paws. The air only whipping his fur as he laughs lightly at his opponent. No, this was his battle ..he had seen it, and he knew already that he would win it.
For this was his territory ...he knew only one creature that dared to make him yield here, and one day ..she would be without her flock and his for the killing. Until then, he would grow stronger with each meal as he flicks his tail darkly. The Vullaby was anger by her own failure so far all of her attacks had failed to leave even an scratch on him as the Purrloin would come at his opponent again.
Though this time he would turn and like a dog start to dig in the earth. He had a good sense for valuable metal, and that sense couldn't be out done by any other pokemon as he found the gold hidden in the earth ...those hard coins that came from the death of a human or two that had dare to travel through this place in it's glory days.
He felt first the coins and then something larger and heavier that stopped his attacks of the shiny metals as he moved away from a potion he had unearth as his ears went flat and he hissed as he looks back at his handy work.
The Vullaby had been completely disgusted by the cat's actions as he turned and started to dig. Her small wings would move in front to try and shield, but they weren't exactly the biggest things to use as she tries to guard against the shiny metals. The Purrloin was using pay day.

The heat was really harsh and Riku could barely swallow. She felt like they had been out here forever when it had barely been a few hours- or maybe it had just been an hour. Time was hard to tell around here and the sun was making her hot and thirsty. What she wouldn't give to find a pond or any source of water. It looked highly unlikely as they continued forward through this hellish place.
