((*Edit, totally thought someone had posted a reply before me, but I see it was you, Mims. LOL -FAIL- Shall I delete this and wait for someone else to post before re-posting?)) Momo took the male's advice and promptly removed her paw from the egg. She noticed that he had put on the necklace she gave him and suddenly felt as though a rock had been removed from her chest. She exhaled and pursed her lips, comfortable with having patched things up between the stranger.
When she saw that he had dug up an egg, too, Momo almost laughed out loud. But she sucked it back, careful not to do anything that might cause yet another social blunder on her part. She just grinned crookedly instead.
"Sure." She then took the lead and moved closer to the center of the oasis, much nearer to the others. Once she had found a comfortable spot, the lioness began to dig. When her paws hit stone, she pulled up yet another fragmented tablet. Hm, come to think of it, she was very close to the area where she first dug.

((Okies, thank you! <3 )) This time it was the bird that spotted the trinket, giving a rapid cheep in order to alert the young lioness. After working out where he had seen the item, more due to him hopping down and actually standing over the spot than any other reason, she carefully unearthed the new piece and cleaned it off, though she was running out of clean fur with which to do so.
Once it sat there in an almost recognizable condition, she and her companion stared at it for a long time, wondering just what it was. Filly Kuza decided it had to be religious of some kind ad it was moved to the rest of the pile, sat alongside the two runes. Weirdly the pair seemed to clash and seeing them so close gave Kuza a weird shivery feeling, so after a little organisation, the two necklaces and two stones being places between the runes and the artifact, she felt a bit better and turned back to her hole.

Just his luck! Another of those creepy items, now he was stuck with two of them?!
No. He wasn't even going to bother with the first. Gritting his teeth, and grumbling to himself the rat left both of the objects behind, in an attempt to up his luck. Which didn't seem to be going so well..
---
It took him a good long while, but he eventually made it to the new location, and did it ever look promising. Eyes wide with excitement and greed, he immediately dove into the nearest lump of sand, panting and squinting through the sand as it flew by his face.

Another religious item.... Kuza stared at the object sat in the bottom of her hole with no litter trepidation. The things gave her the willies thou she wasn't sure why. Under the bird's urging, who had already told her in no uncertain terms that his name was Aiolos (like the god of wind) she finally hitched the object out and carefully placed it beside the first, making sure both were well away from the two ruins. Still a little uncertain she turned back to her hole, but after contemplating it for along while, she turned and started anew one close by, making sure to move her little treasure trove across with her.

((Nooono, it was totally my bad. AND LOL, alrighty. XD))Tanuri felt strangely more at ease now that he was following the white lioness closer to the group. The clinking of their necklaces combined was creating a song, but Tanuri tried not to take notice. Once they reached their chosen spot (well, her chosen spot, but he didn't really care, whatever), he watched with feigned boredom as the lioness dug up what looked like a chunk of carved stone with scribbles on it.
Gods, how much junk was there in that oasis? Tanuri was almost feeling clean every time one of them unearthed something.
With that thought in mind, the male began to dig close to the female. His paws pulled out a small, carved...trinket of some kind...with a face quite like a monkey's. Eyelids growing slack with disinterest, he looked to the female as if to check if she wanted it for some reason.

In her new spot, Moja began digging again. Her familiars were hissing and clucking unhappily. They were both babies and Moja, well versed in caring for infants, knew they weren't in any danger from the heat, but instead they were just complaining. She wouldn't make them wait out here too long, and if it got too bad, she'd take them home, but right now it could even be a learning experience for all of them! Moja dug with both front paws, claws out, and a smile on her face. This was the most physical activity she got on a normal basis. Caring for cubs wasn't all that hard. She pitched in with hunting once in a blue moon, and it felt good to stretch her muscles in the meantime.
The lioness felt her nails hit home and she moved to uncover what she'd hit. It looked like bone! How interesting. She pulled the bones out of the dirt and examined it.
It was lion bone. A skull. Moja made a face at the skull which seemed to be grinning back at her. It made her deeply uneasy, especially when Ayo thought it would be funny to slither in and wind his way between the eye holes. The lioness grunted at her snake and pulled him out with her teeth, gently, and put the skull down. The bird atop her head began chastising Ayo and they glared at one another. Her ears went back to her head and she grimaced at it, ignoring the bickering. Hmm. She covered it up with dirt and decided to dig in a different area.

Meeper found himself getting overwhelmed. So much seemed to be going on. He squeeked. He wanted to find something too! What was that? Over there. The meerkat bounced over to where he thought he'd found something interesting. Nope, just a stick someone else had dug up. Darn.

It was a bit more effort in her new location, the dirt was drier ad therefor harder, but she wasn't going to let it beat her as she attacked it with her claws determinedly. Aiolos sat close by, hopping about with his wings extended, he wanted to help but his bird feet weren't designed to dig so instead he watched.
"There!! Look!!" He squawked suddenly, bouncing over and sticking his beak into the sand where he had seen something.
Kuza dug it out and placed it on the side. Another rune. Nudging it over with the other three she cocked her head, wondering about them. But eventually, with no insight coming to her, she resumed her digging all over again.

The rat's greedy, bulgy eyes grew wide with possibilities as he stared down at the gorgeous, intricate necklace he'd managed to dig up. He wondered if he could barter it to a lion for a favor in return... or he could just entice a young female with wishes of beauty...
Nah he was keeping this... that is... if he could actually carry the thing home, it was bigger than he was! Gripping it by the clasp, the rat was just about to tug with all of his might when another glimmer caught his eye. All interest in the necklace lost, he began to dig once more.

Meeper paused to ponder his luck. Is that why he couldn't find anything? He needed to improve it, and fast. While it would be nice to find something himself, it was good to watch others finding things. He bounced around ingesting here and there. Pausing to dig where his whim struck.

Kuza continued to dig, her forelegs were really aching now. But with Aiolos watching, she felt as if she couldn't admit to her tiredness and with a grimace of determination, she attacked hr second hole once again. It was some time before the bird darted forwards and tugged free the half-covered trinket, it was a long thin chain, a little broken and battered but she realised in would be perfect to add to her necklace-in-the-making. Happier now she helped the bird carry it to her pile and set it down beside the shiny stones. She really wanted to find more of those... they were so pretty. With renewed strength she started another hole.

(could i have the white snake please? the Albino female?.. if i am allowed first pick, if not then whichever snake is <33) Maddy the mongoose had heard someone talking about treasures, and she was very very interested. Her little nose quivered, and her paws twitched in excitement.. Treasure.. something she liked, she nibbled on a claw and scurried around the lions and other creatures, ignoring their treasures, no doubt they'd fight for them and she wasn't as big as they were. Scratching at the dirt in a free place she wondered what he might find. THERE! .. she found something shiny, and a lioness wanted it in return for something, she handed the trinket over to her and waited.

Abidemi, curious of all the ruckus, was drawn over to the dried up oasis and sat on the edge to examine what was going on. Hm. How strange! It looked like lions and other, smaller, creatures were digging. But what were they looking for? Water? No, that was impossible. He saw a rat pull out a necklace and further away, he noticed his grandmother. She nervously put what looked like a skull back into the dirt and began wandering around the oasis. With a smile, the young lion walked over to his grandmother and smiled.
"Hello, grandma Moja! Hi, Ayo!" The boy cheerfully greeted the snake as well which returned a greeting hiss. He did a double take to the little bird, though. Well that was new.
Abidemi began digging next to his grandmother, and before long was up to his elbows in dark dirt. He didn't find anything, or maybe he did and just passed by it. He'd never know.
"Granma, what are we looking for?" He tilted his head and looked at her with his sweet-honey colored eyes.
