Again he was unsuccessful. Argg, he was really getting tired of this! Damn plant, what was it's problem anyway. Hmm, maybe it wasn't trying to eat them, maybe it was just angry about something. Secretly he hoped it was the absent professor the plant was angry with, hah, maybe he was the one being eaten.
A flicker of movement, Sheridan looked up in time to see Tess flying above, presumably searching for the plant or other students. At least he knew one of his classmates was safe. Flying wasn't a bad idea, briefly he entertained the thought himself, but then thought better of it. If one of those vines snatched him midair, well, let's just say he wasn't keen on the idea of being slammed into the ground.
Think Sheridan think! He looked down at the pages of the book, his eyes falling on one particular herb. Black cohosh, it was meant to cure upset stomach? Sure why not, if the plant had indeed eaten the professor, well maybe he didn't taste very good.

Well...now that the green thing was no longer green (HOW it came to a polka dotted magenta with yellow spots was beyoooond her...), maybe it would lighten u-no. Didn't seem to be the case the mass of polka dot was still unsettled about something. Levi saw to it that the interior of it had healed of any cuts and scrapes, but what about the exterior?
Some of the other students had been trying to use herbs to heal the thing from the outside- why not give that a go? Healthy on the inside, healthy on the outside and a healthy way will follow. Trust Ma to give good advice. With this plan in mind, Levi scrolled a finger down another page of the textbook (she was NOT going to try another random throw despite the haste it was needed) to come across some berries. Hey! She'd seen these before in her wood back home too. They were easy enough to find, and Levi grabbed a handful of them to smoosh over the main (?) mass of vines...
Something positive seemed to occur.

Sheridan's tail twitched with a snap. The last herb had seemed effective, and yet the plant still seemed as angry as ever. Clearly this was NOT working. Enough was enough!
Snapping the book closed, the frustrated dragon decided it was time to try a different approach. If this plant named Steven belong to professor Cadmus, than he would be the one who knew how to calm the thing down. And since the professor was obviously not in the classroom, he must be somewhere in the greenhouse.
Fine, he was going to look for the professor and get him to stop this plant from rampaging over...whatever in Jack's name it was rampaging about. This time mindful of each step, Sheridan began his search, the professor had to be around here somewhere, right?

What Levi thought was more Quill Berries was actually another type of Berry she hadn't figured on being right beside the cluster of Quills she had intended to pick. About to slather another round on the thing, Levi pause mid berry-crush to notice the difference just in time to look it up in the textbook.
This was Black Berry's...hey! If used quickly enough, maybe it could help the Quill Berries she'd just used? This she tried... but nothing seemed to come out of it. hmm.

Maybe she had to consider its other insides. Ya know, like when your just disgruntled about having eaten something that displeased you. The way you'd feel about it. That could surely be remedied by something. She'd noticed this being used before by one of the students and decided to give it another go; the familiar lavender...
Gathering a few leaves, Levi attempted to roll them into a ball and shoot them down its hatch again. She bounced, hit the mark and...saw no reaction come of it...
really?...guess he isn't sore about it, feeling-wise

Alright- this thing wasn't feeling emotional about eating the professor... she'd tried healing it from the outside as well as in...
what more could she do?!
Levi was, at this point, tapping her head with a finger and crossing the arm that held her textbook across her middle. Alright- stick with what has worked so far. Going back to the original plant she'd tossed at the opening of the mass of tendrils, Levi went for a second go with the Belladonna. The tatzel ghoul figured if she couldn't pin-point what exactly was bothering the thing still, just try o suppress it again overall. It seemed effective enough...nothing angry had come to attack the ghoul so-...this should be taken on a positive note.

Maritess continued to wander through the greenhouse, she was now sure she was going in circles and her mind was playing tricks on her. Must be the strange vegetation affecting her senses. She sorely hoped it was only a temporary thing. Maybe she should step out of the greenhouse for a moment to regain her bearings?

Oh Jack. Maritess couldn't even get out of the greenhouse to regain her bearings. She was lost inside the greenhouse. Completely and utterly lost. Her panic wasn't helping her disorientation. Not one bit as she tried to swoop low to the ground, her wings getting caught in the vines and making her shriek.

The manananggal's wings flapped hard in an attempt to free herself. Instead she ended up entangled even more and resorted to clawing at the vines with her bare hands, swearing to herself that she was never coming back into this jack-forsaken location. Not even if her legs were in here. If they got lost amongst the greenery, it was their problem and not hers. In her struggle, she'd managed to free herself, spinning in the air as a result and smacking hard into... "O-oh Jack, please don't tell me you're Steve..." she whimpered.

It seemed the others had weakened Steve somewhat. Or at least she hoped they'd weakened him enough for someone as battle-challenged as Tess was to stand a chance of surviving this without ending up as FEAR particles. Wait, what were they supposed to even do to it? Weren't there any sort of sharp objects they can use to trim Steve down to a manageable size or something? When she looked around, the greenhouse looked rather overgrown in and of itself. She guessed trimming and hacking weren't anything she could possibly do at the moment.
She noticed an assortment of leaves and roots and soil splattered on Steve and, narrowly avoiding a vine that shot at her, she decided to fight fire with fire. Or, er, plant with zombies plant! Swooping down, she yanked at whatever she could reach and chucked it at Steve.

A hit! Okay maybe not a direct hit, but some of the mallow did land on Steve. Then again, what good would that do? It just made him more appealing to Tess. She zipped upwards, just out of reach, leathery wings flapping hard but silently. As she looked at Steve, she realized Steve's appeal was one of a target. Maybe she could get some Gym practice here in the greenhouse instead! Gym, Greenhouse, they both started with a G, didn't they? Again, the winged vampire dove down, folding her wings into a deadfall, opening them just in time to keep herself from splattering on the ground and snagging a few more plants to hurl at Steve.

Hopefully the Black Berry's would calm Steve down some, seeing as how most of it had missed him. Obviously with the flailing and the rampaging of Steve, she wasn't doing enough to help the group. Distracted, a tendril managed to lash painfully at the winged vampire, sending her down to the ground and crashing into some Oregano. Her wings struggled to get her airborne, the motion grinding the leaves into dusty particles on her wings, which when she flew over Steve, she ended up dusting onto him.

Malodore stubbornly wiped the scunge off of its lenses and plunged forward again. It thought it saw movement to the right, so it turned and pushed aside some hanging leaves... only to find Steve lurking behind, its vines thrashing in all directions.
... it had to wonder how, exactly, the hideously massive plant had escaped it the first time. Totally the humidity's fault.

Maritess shook her wings free of the remaining Oregano dust, sneezing somewhat in the process. When she shook her head clear of the powder, her wings ended up knocking some low-hanging leaves off and right onto Steve. Maybe those would be enough to blind him? Uh, did Steve even have eyes? She wasn't certain about that.
SNAP! went a vine too near her face for comfort.
Okay, maybe he did.
