"Do you think so little of me as to think that would happen?" He looked down at her. He'd try this, see if it lasted like he thought it would. It might fail that was a risk, but to leave her just for something else. He wasn't like that, not at all.

She frowned deeply then. "No.. But one never knows.. I mean the future holds many mysteries and... " She trailed off. "I can't.. I can't just decide right now.. I just can't I've known you both for such a short time.." She knew this sounded so harsh, she hated herself for being so selfish to want to know both stallions better so that she could divide which she might like in such ways. sure.. Illarion make her heart flutter but yet so did Duke...

She hung her head hearing the harsh words. "I'm really sorry.. It's a horrible thing to do.. to be so torn.." She felt like she wanted to just cry. "I'm a bad mare aren't I? To be given two such wonderful stallions and be hung up on the both... It's selfish of me..." Still she stared at the ground, pawing restlessly at the dirt. Oh what she wouldn't give right now to paw herself a hole and be buried in it.

Illarion could feel his heart sinking. It wasn't that easy was it? She couldn't just love him and only him. She was unsure, plagued by a choice when all he wanted to do was chose her. But it wasn't that easy, "It's okay." He lied trying to cover up the pain in his face.
"I understand that you have to decide what's best for you, even if I want that to be me...I know that you will make the right decision." He nuzzled her gently, "But I'll keep doing everything to win you over. Okay?"

It didn't make her feel any better. In fact his wish to try so hard for her it just... made her feel worse about herself. "I know.." She murmured softly. It infuriated her.. that her feelings could be so. Was this all why her parents couldn't have stayed together? Sure they'd stated they were better friends... but what was the real underlined story with them? All of this just made her question something she'd never thought to question.

"What's the matter?" He asked gently. She looked vacant and sad. Had he caused that pain? He had not intended to, he only meant to make his love clear for her and now...He'd well, he'd hurt her with something.
"What did I do?" He felt something inside of his chest breaking.

She stared at him. How could she explain all that was going through her head at this moment? The answer was, she couldn't. She just couldn't explain that which she frankly understood so little about to begin with. For starters, she had two suitors and that was a problem in and of it's self she couldn't work out. Secondly there were all the questions that settled around her parents and how it could effect her own life and this decision. If she chose wrong, would she regret it in the future? Would she hold it against the male she'd chosen?
Sighing, she looked at Illarion and shook her head. "It's not you... It's something I cannot work out in my mind that troubles me. I'm sorry that my indecisiveness has caused you turmoil, I really am.."

Illarion could feel the ache of pain in his chest, he had hoped the decision would be easy. But it wasn't...it was somethign she was having to ponder, to think about...to deal with, to go through. If you had to do all that, was it really worth it? Yes, it was. It was worth fighting for. "How long do you think you'll need?" His voice held a sad timber.

The somber tone his voice held only added to her grief. "I don't.... I don't know." She choked out. She really didn't.. How could you judge how much time you needed with such matters of the heart. Was this love at all?? Love was supposed to come easy.. wasn't it?
She hung her head, turning from Illarion. The truth of it all was she didn't know.. She didn't know anything and that alone was enough to cause her heart to sink. her heart was torn in two each half following after a different stallion and here she stood more or less dashing the hopes of some one she'd come to view as a friend and for what? Her indecisiveness?

He didn't mean to rush her or force her to choose--God, that's the last thing he wanted...but his heart ached at waiting, it made him impatient. Taking a deep breath, he looked at her evenly. "I can wait however long it takes for you to decide." It would be hard to wait, but if he was to have her--he wanted all of her, not just half. She had to make this decision for herself no matter how much it hurt him or helped him. "I can't help you decide, you'll know what's right." But even at that, the dull ache in his chest dind't subside.

Illarion watched as she ran, a part of him wanted to run with her. But he knew she wanted to be alone, but deep in his heart he feared that this might be a harbinger of decision.
