Reflections pt 1
Suffering from a bout of the flu Del was bedridden for a few days. She thought now would be a good time, whenever she wasn't dizzy or throwing up to redo some of the quizzes she'd taken as a child. It would help her see how she'd changed over the years, where she'd matured and what not. It would also let her see where she had stayed the same, what values or beliefs she still held depending on the quiz. It was also something easy to do while she wasn't feeling too well.

Movie: Grease, I still really love the music and dancing in it and i actually understand the story in it now.

Pretty as a picture
Del hummed softly as she taped a picture to the east facing bedroom wall. The picture was a simple painting but better than she could do. Del had paid a young boy at the local rec centre to paint it during one of her visits there. It was a small gift from her to her partners recognizing the time they'd spent together.
Echo hadn't been thrilled about posing but had calmed down when he'd been instructed to just act naturally and in the end he'd seemed pleased with the result. Nevertheless Del doubted he had any interest in modeling for more pictures anytime soon and she wasn't going to push him.
After adjusting the photo the young dolphin girl stepped back and smiled. there was art and music and song lyrics littering the one pristine while walls and in the midst of all the chaos was Echo looking serene. It was perfect.

Bored Del fipped through her old binder filled with quizzes and pulled out a blank copy of one of the first she had taken. The dolphin girl was finding she didn't have as much time to work on her past reflections as she'd though she would. Between finishing up school projects, babysitting her brother when her father went on jobs and taking singing lessons Del found that she just didn't have time to focus on much else anymore.
Perhaps when summer came things would change. Untill then she'd take the few moments she had to herself and enjoy them.

Del could see just by skimming over her old and new answers that a lot had changed since she'd last taken this test. Though she'd leave off doing anything other than making a few notes untill she had time to take a few more tests to get the best results she could. Still Del was happy that she knew she was progressing in life and she could only help it was for the best.

From student to teacher.
" No" Gil crossed his arms and glared sternly at Del " It's stupid I won't wear it.
Del sighed having somewhat of a flash back of this same conversation with Kishi a few years ago. though back then she'd not been that great of a swim teacher, now she had years more experience and a better plan than plopping her sister into a fountain and shouting orders.
"Gil you have to wear the life vest it's not safe otherwise and father said you're not allowed into the lake without it." Gil was not a small child by any means and he'd had a few lessons before but never in a lake before and in open water Del was taking no chances with her little brother's safety.
Green eyes glared at the dolphin girl but slowly Gil slipped the bright orange life vest onto his body. it was , Del noted, at least a slimmer model than the bulky old things she'd seen in the past.

Two hours later Del found herself sighing as she lay on the dock basking in the sun. The warm golden rays warmed her and dried her bathing suit , they also died her skin a little but it wasn't that bad and she could use a moisturizer later. the important thing was that the lesson was over and they'd both had fun.
She's made certain Gil could tread water and float on his back while still controlling where his was going as well and proving his could do a simple breast and backstroke. they were all things they'd practiced before in pools but Del wanted to be sure Gil remembered since it had been a while. plus she wanted to be sure he could do them before she took off the life vest.
Once she'd been satisfied with that she'd watched him like a hawk while he swam with only his own skill as flotation. then she's taught him a simple pencil dive and how to correctly surface without panicking.
All in all it had been a good lesson. Next time she's teach him some more dives and how to dolphin kick.
for the first time in a while Del was really looking forward to the future.
