Ever since she was a little girl, Akeru had been calling herself a genjutsu master. To her, an illusion was much different than any other type of technique. No matter how powerful it was or how much chakra it cost, it was useless unless used the right way. The most powerful techniques could be rendered completely ineffecteve and the weakest academy level ones could turn the tides of of battle, in was all in the execution.

So Akeru didn't consider herself a master of illusions because she had the most powerful illusonary techniques, she did because she knew how to make almost any technique effective, and even how to create illusions without using techniques at all. And she had just pulled off an impressive one. She had convinced everyone on the battlefield that she had died without using any technique. While she did get help in the form of the technique that Inochi had used, all that allowed her to do was survive the electric attack. Once she realized that, it was up to her to sell her death, the scream and the floating face down in the water. It was difficult not to react to anything, but she was able to keep herself floating like a corpse. However, with her chakra network she was able to tell somewhat of the positionings of the people on the battlefield. One chakra signature was on the ground where the sound kunoichi had been before, so Akeru supposed it was still the same person. One was high in the air, and another had just gone beneath the water. Akeru figured that after that electric attack that she took, the only reason someone would enter the water was if they had to, and seeing as the sound kunoichi cast her genjutsu by singing, it would probably be the only way to break her hold on them, to block the coming sound waves. So if her analysis of what was going on was right, she knew where her enemies were.

Akeru knew that there wasn't much that she could do, but she had to do something. She had wanted to wait untill both enemies were near eachother and catch them both in a genjutsu, but she was running out of air. She had to make this one count, hopefully she could at least take out the genjutsu user, that would make things much easier against the other one and she wouldn't be forced to keep using the cross state of her tenraigan. Activating the swirled state of her eye, she made the hand seals, which couldn't be seen since they were under the water. As the chakra travelled through her chakra network towards Seika, hopefully the kunoichi wouldn't be aware until it was too late. Seika would suddenly feel the ground beneath her give way, and she would begin falling down into a bottomless hole endlessly. In truth Akeru's genjutsu would just make her drift off to sleep, though it was Akeru's hope that the Kunoichi would be out for a while before she realized it and used kai to dispell the technique.

Akeru then broke through the surface of the water, breathing deeply as she did. It felt good to breathe again. Once she caught her breath, she looked up to where Shuniji was in the sky, her now wet hair partially covering her eyes as she tried to figure out what her next move would be. He would probably be a bit shocked as to her 'revival', but he seemed skilled enough not to let that leave an opening. Right now she needed to get out of the water before he zapped her again.

Akeru didn't have time to see if the sound kunoichi fell for her illusion, her eyes were focused on the other sound ninja, the one that dove into the water against who she assumed was her ally. She couldn't exactly tell, but common sense showed that whoever it was was against the sound ninja, and the enemy of an enemy was a friend.

As Shuniji dove into the water after this person, Akeru figured that he didn't spot her, which was definitely in her favor. And with him under the water, it gave her the perfect chance to use her newest technique. As Shuniji went under the water, Akeru jumped out of it, focusing her chakra at her feet to stand on the surface. Once she did, she made the hand seals, focusing down on the water. There were a few people down there when there should have only been two, someone must have used a clone technique. She could separate friends from enemies later, right now was the perfect chance to trap her enemy underwater.

"False Prison Technique..."

The chakra flowed through her network to both Shuniji and Kazuki, since she couldn't tell who was who. The both of them would see translucent walls surrounding them. They seemed more like shimmers of light than anything solid, but if either tried to pass through them they would find themselves unable to pass through, and it would feel exactly like crashing into a wall. This technique wasn't dispellable by kai, so all she had to do was hold it and whoever was trapped inside would eventually drown.

The beauty of her technique was that it was a genjutsu, only those who's minds she effected would be effected by it. That meant she could take Kazuki out of the area she created, once he was no longer inside the genjutsu would no longer be effecting him and only the sound ninja would be trapped. She just needed to get Kazuki out of there.

♠ Shuniji Fuku



The original Shuniji was only a couple feet from using Kazuki to punch a drain in the lake when he suddenly slammed headlong into an invisible wall.

In reality, Shuniji had merely stopped swimming, but that didn't stop his head from hurting. He glubbed a few bubbles and watched them float up through the prison's "ceiling," but when he struck at the faintly shimmering walls, he only felt a shock go up his arm. Shuniji sputtered more angry bubbles, you didn't have to be telepathic to realize he was shouting curses at genjutsu.

The clones, meanwhile, kept a steady gaze on Kazuki. It was rather creepy how focused they were being. If they were going to be held down there, they may as well enjoy the sight of watching Kazuki drown first.

The original shinobi spun around in his prison--tearing through his swirling, chopped up hair to look for the person who dared ******** up his otherwise fatal attack.

Shuniji's own sensory jutsu--his Kakoai--coupled with his sub-aquatic point of view, allowed him to see the "corpse" of Akeru from earlier make some hand signs and swim off. Shuniji may have suffered a few head-injuries during his career as a Sound ninja and ingested more than his fair-share of hazardous chemicals, but he was still smart enough to figure out that Akeru probably wasn't dead and probably was the one trapping him in this illusion.

He gave his box another swift kick, more to show his displeasure with the arrangement than to actually break out. He wasn't anywhere near critical in the oxygen department.

Shuniji as a whole, while obviously annoyed, didn't appear the least bit concerned for his own safety. He trusted that Seika would keep to her word and not let him go down in such a stupid manner. He wasn't even sure if Seika's telepathy worked both ways for her to know Zombie Akeru was even holding him underwater in the first place. The fact that he had such obvious faith in his comrade was almost... heartwarming.

He snorted a few more bubbles and folded his arms impatiently as he floated.
