⒩⒜⒯⒣⒜⒩⒤⒠⒧ ⒲⒜⒭⒟ - 2nd year Nathaniel entered the class. He was glad he could talk more with Ginelle. Sometimes, she looked spaced out or maybe distracted. Anyway, it was hard for him to stand and talk to her. Well, it happened with pretty much everyone too. He had two friends, Amelia and Ginny. He found them in mostly all his classes, well Ammy of course since it looked like she took them all. Glancing at the board, he curtly nodded towards the teacher before sitting down in the middle of the class, a new assignment already. He immediately thought of Ghaleon, being the only other second year he knew of. There was more time to think about it, he was early anyways.

Amelia Frances Joan
Amelia entered the class slowly. Who would think this class seemed to be the most challenging. Especially when she spoke in her foreign language. Still, a grin broke on her face when she saw Nathaniel. He really was a great person to like. But liking him couldn't hurt anything, it wasn't like she was up to snogging anyone anyway, so she figured she was safe from losing Ginny as a friend. Still, it would be helpful to find a list of dos and don'ts with friends. Taking a seat beside him, her smile still on her face, she greet him with a soft "Hey, what's happening?". She always tried to keep her voice soft and pretty when talking to him. It was an unconscious happening that she just realized.
With a glance at the board, she frowned. She wasn't entirely sure what the Ministry of Magic was. Maybe she could borrow Livi's floo powder and go there. It would be an awesome field trip. She was definitely considering it. She glanced at Nathaniel, asking, still in her demure voice, "Have you been to the Ministry of Magic?" She wanted his thoughts on it and then she could invite him to come with her. She wondered if non-house members were allowed in their common room. Sure it definitely wasn't always done. She herself had no idea where the others were. Even if they weren't allowed, they had to have fireplaces too, right? They could just meet up at the Ministry of Magic.

Ghaleon Elmerast, Ravenclaw, 2nd Year
Ghaleon looked at the new assignment figuring he'd most likely be paired up with Nathaniel, being the only other second year to show up to class so far. He didn't mind this of course, he didn't know the Hufflepuff very well but he seemed like a good person. Ghaleon just hoped they'd be able to figure out a proper story together is all. He walked over and asked him "Well seeing as it seems to be just us at the moment would you like to team up for the assignment Nathaniel?" Ghaleon wasn't completely certain where to start, hoping a few ideas would start popping up in his mind after getting a partner.

“He lives the poetry that he cannot write. The others write the poetry that they dare not realise.” - Oscar Wilde (Thinking about this possible trip. Remember when we were supposed to go to the Shrieking Shack with Olli and Lily ?) Nathaniel greeted Amelia with the same smile. He was glad to see her. Too bad they weren't in the same year, he was sure she could've been a great storyteller. "There's a new lesson on the board, I guess we're going to have some hard work ahead of us." He let her read the board, taking notes on her project. When she asked her question, he also frowned. "Actually no. I'd love to go there, just to mess around and have a glimpse at their Department of Mysteries." he thought of the statue in the atrium. The fountain of course, not that horrible Magic is Might when You-Know-Who took over. Was it there now ? Or did they replace it ? Years have passed, so he wasn't sure.
He was going to add something else when he saw Ghaleon coming. Good, they were going to be pairing up. "Sure ! I was going to ask you anyway." Glancing at Amelia, he excused himself and went to sit down with Ghaleon."What was your story like ? I chose the Wizard of Oz, something about having inner qualities and strength and not let your self-doubt cloud them." He figured it was a start. They could compare their work and find some common moral they could base their story on. Since muggles story all had their magic, he didn't think it'd be wrong to make some of their own.

Blaine tried not to groan as she read the assignment on the board. Sure, she was muggle-born, but she had been raised by two witches and didn't know a thing about the Greeks or the Romans. Even worse, she didn't know anything about the Ministry of Magic. She walked over to Amelia and asked her, "Hey, um, do you happen to know anything about the Greeks, Romans, or the Ministry of Magic? I'm sort of clueless on all three." Blaine gave her a sheepish grin as she felt her face getting red.

Ghaleon Elmerast, Ravenclaw, 2nd Year
"Ah well, mine was 'The Fisherman and His Wife' or 'The Magic Fish' it was rather short, though rewritten a few different times with slightly altered titles and context. Anyway, basically it comes down to 'If you become to greedy and try to get everything, you'll end up with nothing.' It wasn't anything overly fantastic or huge I suppose." Ghaleon replied to Nathaniel after he had finished explaining his own. "I'd have picked a longer story but I didn't have enough time to get through one, and I don't have to much knowledge of muggles stories. Still this shouldn't be to difficult, greed can easily be thrown into any story so working it into a story that revolves around inner strength such as yours shouldn't be to hard I imagine." Though a thought just came past him. "Was there any mention on how long the story had to be? For that matter how do we go about this? Write sentence by sentence? By paragraph? Or collaborate on a general idea and one of us writes the main thing down? Sorry if I'm getting ahead of myself but I've never worked on a story with someone else before."

Amelia Frances Joan
((Yeah, that really didn't work out. Olli and I are still planning on heading to Hogesmeade, but we haven't had a chance. We should do that before this trip, however we're managing this one.))
Amelia got a mischievous note in her eye. She let Nathaniel leave her for his partner, knowing she'd probably need Ginny's help convincing him to go with them. That is if Ginny wanted to go. Her mind flashed back to Defense Against the Dark Arts. Thankfully, she didn't think of it long, having Blaine come up to her. She greeted her with a reassuring smile, as she replied, "I know about the first too, fairly decently." She pulled out her graded assignment, offering it up to read. "Those we went over in my old school. I'm sorry to say I'm just as clueless about the Ministry of Magic though." Her grin was equally sheepish, though she managed to keep down the blush. In a soft voice she whispered only to the girl, "If only we could have a field trip there. Then we'd be able to learn about it." She winked playfully, as if she was pretending to plan one but knew it'd be too hard. Silently though she was judging Blaine's response, to see if she could come with them too. This department of Mysteries that Nathaniel mentioned seemed awesome beyond belief. Whatever it included must be wonderful.

'You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart;' Ginelle Ginny Alaine DeLuccia . Thinking . . Speaking . . Action .
Ginny had ran to the class from the Library, after studying up on the library. She felt like an idiot, not coming to the classroom first. She smiled to see Amelia, then took her seat next to her. Ginelle had felt bad for acting the way she did in D.A.D.A, and was determined to make it up to her, but she didn't know how... Maybe there was something she could do? "Hey, what are we talking about in here?" She asked with a smile as she rushed to get her things out. She had taken Pages and pages of notes on the ministry of the past and the present, learning the layout and everything she thought the might need to know to do this assignment. She was hoping, although the teacher didn't say that they could use partners, that her and Amelia could work on it together outside of class. She could only hope Amelia would feel the same.

Amelia, in her scheming mode, quickly had forgotten Defense Against the Dark Arts. She was planning on what to tell Ginny when she suddenly appeared. Her face blossomed into a smile and she answered her honestly, "A possible field trip," betting she'd take her seriously as she hoped. She doubted Ginelle knew any more than them about the ministry of magic, until she saw the piles of paper. "What are those notes?" she asked, already nosing over to look through them.

Ginelle was beaming at Amelia. A fieldtrip? Of course she would want to join, if she were invited that was. When Amelia started looking through her papers, she took a deep breath and let out a small irritated laugh, but not directed towards Amelia. Those notes took her hours, and she wasn't even sure if they were sufficient. There were atleast ten full pages, front and back, on information from the ministry there. "Notes, on the ministry. They took me ages..." She took a deep breath again, which was something her mother taught her to do when she got angry. She was proud of her work, but annoyed that they took her so long to do.

Amelia's eyes widened as she exclaimed, "You're a genius! Where did you find all this stuff?" she asked, searching through the papers eagerly. But before she read anything she pulled away, horrified with herself. She almost cheated. She couldn't believe herself. Just because she didn't know something didn't give her a right to use Ginny that way. Still she was impressed, "Is this where you've been? You're incredible." This was much more practical than her field trip. That would probably take too much time to plan; it was something for a later date. Not during this class period.

“He lives the poetry that he cannot write. The others write the poetry that they dare not realise.” - Oscar Wilde Nathan listened closely to Ghaleon's insight. Especially his questions. "That's a good moral. Muggle stories aren't so hard to write, since its always fiction. Some of them have wizards doing all sorts of impossible things." He'd been wondering how they'd write out the story. Nathaniel thought I'd be good enough if they wrote a couple of sentences at a time. "I don't know about the length, we should ask the teacher. We should get started on a general idea but I thought we could write some sort of limerick or poetic story. Like four or five verses with four lines." He took out his quill and a roll of parchment. Setting them on the desk, Nathaniel dipped the feather in some ink and scribbled some words. "At least I know how it'll start."
Once upon a time, There was a [...]
The End "It's a rough sketch but I've always seen them start out like this. It could be fun trying to find rhymes and the text doesn't have to make sense. What do you think the bottom line should be ? Something about greed, inner strength like our stories or praise some virtue ? There's also our characters. People or objects ? Maybe have them go on some quest." He always thought short stories like that needed to make kids learn something.
