Arachne let go of his hand, giving a little nod at the boil.
'Okay, but please be careful.' she pressed both her hands against her mouth, and then put her arms out, holding onto the ladder from where she stood, steadying the bottom
'Can you see inside yet?' she called up, looking up the ladder..and at his bottom. She turned away, her cheeks reddening.

Sephearan smiled softly, "Don't worry, I will be careful," he said as he continued up the ladder a ways until he reached the window. Hearing Arachne ask about seeing inside he chuckled lightly then leaned closer so Liannan could get a good look. After a moments pause he called back to Arachne at the bottom. "Liannan says it's an attic filled with boxes and very dusty. We should be careful, but maybe there might be something in the boxes..." Sepheran stated as he reached over now and climbed through the open window turning around to hold the ladder from his end now.

She realised what she'd said after she'd asked it, and didn't she feel silly. But Sepheran didn't seem put out, he must be used to such slips of the tongue.
'Okay.' she called up, a seeing eye snake was certainly handy, but she was a little worried that Liannan might have missed something. Well, trusting Sepheran meant trusting his companion and she took a breath, putting a foot on the bottom rung of the ladder. It wobbled and she paused for a moment, before starting up. At the top she squeezed past Sepheran through the open window and dropped inside.
'What a mess.' she murmured, looking around for the exit door. 'I wonder if there's anything useful in here?'

(( Sheridan goes through the window ))
He was torn between a facepalm and a grimace as Petro went through the window. Ouch, he could only imagine how all those little shards of glass must have felt, couldn't he have used a rock or something? Why injure himself further? For his own part, Sheridan had had more than enough of feeling his own skin cut by sharp objects, but seeing as the window was already open.
Approaching the window, he peered inside for a moment before placing his hands on the sill and hoisting himself through the window. What a mess, clearly no one had been in this building in some time, did the light even work anymore?
"Wonder what happened to the previous resident."
A fate best not dwelt upon most likely.
He searched the room, empty drawers, a stove that probably didn't work anymore, and...a refrigerator? Whatever possessed him to open the door was perhaps a mystery even to himself, was he expecting to find food in it? No food, but, a piece of paper?
"Hey, there's another note in here."

Sepheran held the ladder the best he could until Arachne made it up and squeezed past him. When she talked about it being a mess Sepheran nodded in agreement. "Yeah seems like there are a lot of boxes. If we shift through some I bet we'll find the door going down. With all these boxes though surely there has to be something of use," the baslisk replied. It would make sense...right? "Be careful I smell some rotten wood around so we should walk carefully," Sepheran added reaching out to run a hand against a dust box nearby coughing slightly as the dust was disturbed.

'Well, it's not the worst thing that's happened on this trip. Little bit of dust won't kill us? Right?' Arachne asked, laughing but nervously, hoping that there really wasn't anything lurking amongst the rubbish and the dust bunnies.
'You do?' she sniffed, the air, freezing for a moment, not wanting to put a foot out now in case the board she stepped on crumbled. But that was silly, and they'd never get out of here unless she helped so she edged her feet along, testing the boards before putting her weight on them.
'Can you see the door? I mean, can Liannan?' she smiled sheepishly, it would take some getting used to, and she hoped he knew she was just saying it out of habit.

Indeed the place was a complete mess. There wasn't anything useful in the fridge even, from what Jericho could see. He hadn't opened it himself, but he peeked in when the other dragon did. Frowning, he looked around for anything remotely useful when Sheridan pointed out a second note.
"Another one? What does it say?" he asked while peering back into the fridge. Indeed, there it was, though he couldn't read it from where he stood. It looked as if there were some dried bloodstains on the old parchment, though.
"That seems like an odd place to put a note too.."

Sepheran smiled softly, "That's true, and it works out good for us too. If there is something around they would make marks in the dust," he stated before shifting carefully forward ahead of Arachne.
Pausing a moment he let Liannan look around. "Hard to tell...there might be something that looks like part of a doorway over to the right," Sepheran replied. "Looks like we need to clean to reach it, it won't be so bad cause we can look through stuff as we go," he commented.

Reaching into the fridge, Sheridan grasped the note, his expression growing dark again as he read it.
"That the previous visitors to this island were students as well."
And that they had fared no better.
The note read, he handed it to Jericho for the other dragon to see. The note seemed more evidence that the instructors were behind all of this. How could they not be? How could they have all possibly been fooled...twice? There was no way they didn't know what was here, it just wasn't possible, the HAD to have know. They WHY had they brought the students here, WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG WITH THEM?!
His tail twitched, half expecting some "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" moment.

Sharra just knew that it was going to be a touch more than Riley was letting on, and he eyed the ghoul for a moment...before letting it slide. He'd press later about the issue, and hopefully no one would fall over before that time...at least Maladore was there to catch them...so long as it didn't suffer another traumatic breakdown.
Sighing, he gestured for Aksaja to follow, and then the nergal, claw-tips careful as they clutched onto the frame, clambered through the window, scuttling inside without incident, moving forward to see what it was that the two dragons seemed to have found. "More notes...this is starting to feel like a very bad, insanity-plagued treasure hunt..." So just who had the student from before been? What had happened to him? Hopefully he was still alive, or that didn't at all bode well for the current investigators.

Though Sheridan had read it out loud, Jericho went on and read it over again once he had the note in hand.
"It sure is..." he mumbled to Sharra, "Though I'll take this as a warning to us capable of flight as well..."
A pity it was to know that. The dragon wasn't willing to go flying up just to get himself shot down, however. Though, what had his curiosity was that in the note, the body had been dragged away apparently.
"..What do you suppose it is they'd want from us to take our bodies when we fall?"

'I guess.' Arachne didn't voice the fact that there could be things that didn't leave tracks that could attack her, but she realised she was getting more paranoid and winding herself up. She let out a long breath and looked at him, not for the first time she'd forgotten he was a monster, and was just thinking of him as Sepheran - a friend, a really nice boil. But now wasn't the time for such things and she made herself speak in case he wondered why she was staring.
'I hope the others are okay downstairs. We should get this stuff moved and find that door.'
It wasn't the being on her own with him that was bothering her, it was being in a room that only had visible way out and that was the window they'd climbed in. And it didn't make for a speedy exit. She picked up a box, wrinkling her nose at the dust and damp on it and hoisted it towards the wall that the open window was on.

"I suppose that would depend on who 'they' are."
Though he had a pretty good theory about that.
He had turned, now leaning with his back against one of the kitchen counters, arms still crossed. He really was liking this less and less, which was saying something seeing that he hadn't liked this trip at all in the first place.
"But I'm not especially eager to go flying around and find out."
Though he had thought several times of trying to fly away off this jack forsaken island.
