Tsetsiliya barely had time to raise her arms over her head, bracing for the coming blow and then..
.. it didn't come at all. She cracked open an eye and slowly lowered her arms, blinking owlishly against the bright light before the ceiling began to collapse. She yelped and moved out of the way, squinting at something in the brightness.. there were so many.. who were..
The closest one punished them with detention. Her legs took on the consistency of jelly and gave out, leaving her to sit limply on the ground.
"W.. what?" Her mouth slightly agape in disbelief, she could do little else but stare. They had just seen most of their peers die, and only to be granted this? She had to agree with the yelling lightning dragon. This couldn't be real, it couldn't be. "What?"
If only she could manage to say anything other than "what". It was too much, simply too much.

Tomoko dropped to her knees and began to cry. This whole field trip thing sucked.
And now she had detention.
And Junko was dead. And Elaphe. And Seiji. Oh, she was just misery all over. WAHHHH.

Whisper fell to her hands and knees, unable to fully formulate words. She was still gripping the mace tightly, but she couldn't help it. Was this just an illusion? It had to be, it'd be too good to be true if they really were here. She hadn't stopped shaking, but she was beginning to focus a little more. It took everything in her to be able to look at them with out going berserk.
"Can you bring them back? Please...please tell me you can bring them back." Whisper thought she had no more tears left, but still they slid down her cheeks. She looked wretched, but that was the least of her worries at this moment. She could fix her appearance in detention.

All of a sudden the Rescue Secretary was knocked to the ground with a violence that left people wondering if the were in for another boss fight. I mean leave it to the pseudo-elf slacker to fail at rescue. The survivors tensed and then saw...something much worse. "SHUT. IT. SNOWFLAKE." The shadows grew larger and more restless with every word she snapped out. Switching her attention to the hooded boss, she continued, "This has been educational. But we'll be taking our leave now, all of us." She smiled, sweetly at him, "Or would you like to continue this battle?" A beat. "Oh...and your little 'cavalry' is somewhat disposed at sea. It is, of course, highly unlikely they'll survive without immediate assistance, you understand this yes?"

Aksaja sputtered. That was about all he could do at this point. They'd been herded onto boats, forced to endure giant sea monsters, crashed, driven nearly insane by fog, attacked, hurt, people had DIED.
And it was EDUCATIONAL??? It was almost getting to the point . . . where he wanted to go home. That was a very bad point.

West stared up at the ceiling as pieces of it rained down around him. There had been a time when he had wished for a good old fashioned detention, but that desire had faded as the rumors circulated that Amityville detentions were not badges of badassery, but something more akin to a sad, naked, wizened old man dangling his bits in your face while forcing you to do his dishes. Unpleasant.
He tried to blend in with the cavern around him, but the sheer amount of fresh blood spattered all over him made this nearly impossible. Stupid dead bodies. He kicked at something that resembled a thigh and glared up through the cave's new skylight. Mrrr. Faculty.

It was her even thinking of her name could bring doom to a student, so rather then demand answers regarding the dead students she sank into her pile of rubble growing very quiet wondering just what the staff had done that would leave the Reaper they were fighting with no back up.
Did that mean they had won?
Yay? Right?

Sepheran stood tall...he wasn't about to die laying down, he would fight till the end...it was his right as a monster. Liannan barely had he strength to give a reassuring squeeze to him, sure she could have left long ago, but to her Sepheran was like a son she felt a need to care for. She wasn't about to leave him, even if it meant her own despise as well.
Standing there waiting Sepheran suddenly heard a crash...and voices...oh what sweet voices they were. Teachers...they were here...finally. Sepheran's body was already at it's limits, to him even the sound of detention was fine by him as long as he got back...as long as he survived like he promised. Sepheran's legs gave way having only been standing off sheer will. Who knew he would ever be happy to hear the principal's voice. Breath heavy, body covered in scraps, cuts and bleeding wounds Sepheran just laid there...could they go home now?

A low, rumbling growl accompanied Helma's words. It wasn't from her, of course -- the headmistress was far too intimidating to stoop to such lows. Red, however, was not. The gym teacher had shifted into her wolf form, reeking strongly of sea water. Her white coat was besmirched with patches of dust, and above all else she had the distinct look of being very unhappy.
"All of you shut up. Askaja, you will receive two weeks of detention. If you can move, drag those who can't out of the way. I've been circling this jack-damned island for two weeks and am in need of tearing something limb from limb." The werewolf snapped her jaws, flexing her clawed hands as her crimson eyes shifted from the students to the hooded figure.
She took a step further, knees bent and crouched. She did not venture past Hellma, but Red would be more than pleased to continue the battle. There were frustrations to vent, and with her claws was the best way to vent them.

If nothing else, Red's threats, mixed with Hellma's words, had at least quieted the kitsune's wailing. However, she wouldn't be getting up very easily, sniffling a bit, before fumbling up to her feet at all, her legs shaking and whatever adrenalin she'd been running on before leaving her.
She would have to take the entire 'get the ******** out of this' slowly. And try to not kick her own a** any more than it had already.
Her head was getting fuzzy. Filled with thoughts of her classmates...and where they were now. Gone, yes...so very much gone... and it was going to be a lonely trip back to school.

Aksaja just . . . stared at the third member of the trio. Detention. For two weeks.
After Sharra and Riley and Jericho and Mal and everyone else was dead. Jack, it just didn't matter anymore.
With a thump, the lightning dragon just . . . sat down on the floor. He didn't know whether he felt more like laughing hysterically or crying at this point.

Barth, as directed, moved. He didn't help anyone that was fainted or hysterical, but him trying to maneuver heavy objects in addition to moving was asking for a whole lot of neither.
All dead? Almost. Traumatized? Sure.
Getting out of here?
Just say the word.

Tsetsiliya barely registered Hellma's words, merely blinking at her in her state of numb disbelief. So what did this mean? Everyone had died for the purpose of education? Those she had considered friends were gone, and now.. what was left? Why go back?
Professor Red's snappish reply drew her attention, and slowly, laboriously, she got to her feet. Glancing around, she felt at a complete loss, unsure of what to even feel right now - she simply couldn't. What had even just happened? There was too much to wrap her mind around. Maybe she'd have it sorted out after she emerged from her room after thinking about it for a month or so. She hoped upon hope that it wasn't the end for those she had seen.. surely there must be something that could be done for all those who had gone.

No one had to tell Israfel twice. He was getting out of the way, scooting as close to the exit as he could, sniffling. That was before he noticed a kitsune looking just as distraught as he was. "Hey." He tapped her "We- we get to go home now." Ear wings flicked and twitched. and he tried to smile. Oh Jack he wanted to hug some one. She looked like he felt. So he hugged her. Sniffling. Yay student bonding? "We should go. Red looks-" He shuddered, feathers floofing. "Mad."

"I... see.." The figure took another step back, lowering their weapon. "A decoy to prevent us from looking into why the barrier was disabled around the island, I was wondering why the portals were damaged. Well played, well played." As a couple of the angrier, soaking faculty took one step forward, they took another step backwards. "Don't think you've won, I am not alone."
From behind them joined several other figures, hiding in the background, weapons brandished.
The accused's scythe weapon flared, glowing blue energy flickering erratically, snapping at the shadows nudging towards it, for a moment it seemed all around chaos was about to ensue yet again-
-"But I yield." The scythe weapon simply clattered onto the ground and vanished into blue wisps. "You win this fight, at least here, at least now. But we will not be so friendly next time I see your miscreants on this island. This is not just any island, this is OUR Island, our home base, we belong here, and have been here for centuries. This is our home."
They nodded, and the figures behind them retreated. "Take your prize, you earned it. I'll be seeing some of you very soon." A pendant was dangling from their free arm, it flared in an intense white flash - and the reaper was gone. All of them were gone.
Only the haggard Amityville students and faculty remained, with a couple of pieces of luggage.
"AND TAKE THAT!" Shouted luggage number one, Famine, angrily as she kicked a stone in the general vicinity of where the Reaper had stood.
"... We could have taken them on." The secretary grumbled as he picked himself up from the ground, giving the headmistress a baleful stare. "The damage has been done, now lets head back." An audible sigh escaped from him as he scooted away from the headmistress. "For those of you still standing, please help the fallen, we will escort you back to the camp."
There was no congratulations or you did well, or anything, all the faculty's expressions were grim and unhappy. They had only managed to stalemate a fight and break into something possibly much worse. ((OOC: ALL STUDENTS PLEASE WAIT FOR OOC WRAP UP POST))
