The vampire gave a disgusted glare to the retreating voice before going to stand at a nearby window. It perplexed him that the girl was chosen instead of someone of his caliber, but there was little that could be done. Turning back, he looked once more at Ari. For a recently turned vampire, she was surprisingly lovely. His gaze trailed down to the pendant resting on her chest. It would be child's play to take it, no one would be the wiser. Luferius' hand clenched involuntarily as he struggled within his mind.

Seeing that the Queen had awoken, Luferius was immediately at her side. Giving a humble bow, he offered her a hand to stand up. "Forgive me, My Queen. I hope that I did not startle you with my presence." In the back of his mind the vampire still fought with the words left by Nyx, but he did not let this interfere with his duties. "If you are feeling better, there is much for us to discuss. I must also inform you that the prisoner known as Ryn has escaped the dungeon and returned to Nyx."

Luferius appeared in front of the door, barring the exit. He placed a hand on Ari's shoulder. "I'm afraid that there is no talking to a traitor. He is of Nyx. Even as he was escaping, her power was already flowing through him." Reaching into his pocket, the vampire retrieved Ryn's blood crystal and showed it to Ari. "She has full control over him now. I'm sorry, but your friend is gone."

Slightly taken aback at the display of emotion, Luferius put away the blood crystal and led her back to one of the room's chairs. Once she was seated, he wiped a few tears away. "I know that it is difficult to lose friends, but you have a new life now, and new responsibilities. You must cast off the last of your humanity and embrace what you have become." Taking her hand, he moved it to clasp the pendant at her neck. "My Queen, there are so many others out there for you now, and before long there will likely be suitors coming to seek your hand."

Sitting her back down with a firm but gentle hand, Luferius knelt down to be eye level with her. "Calm down, my Queen. Normally this is not the case. However seeing your unique circumstances, it would be best if you had a King to rule by your side. Someone strong enough to guide you and protect you. There are many capable vampires of royal lineage who would be most honored to have you at their side." He gently stroked her cheek with a smile. "You do not have to choose one right away. Give it some time and thought." Standing up, Luferius crossed over to the door, opening it. "When you are ready, it would be wise to make an appearance in the throne room. I will send servants to help you prepare and guards to escort you soon." With one more bow, he left.

Coming up to the large doors, Crux knocked softly. "Miss Ari..I mean, My Queen, forgive the intrusion. I was instructed to bring you some proper clothes."

Opening the door quietly, the servant bowed. "I don't think I was able to introduce myself earlier. My name is Crux. I am a servant in this kingdom." Standing back up, he handed her a package. "I have been asked to make sure you wear this. Then when you are ready, you are asked to please make an appearance at the Throne room."

The servant bowed once more and left, closing the door behind him.
