She matched him step for step. Damn, but she hadn't been kidding, he was doing his absolute best and Sin gave it back in equal share. When the hand had moved to Rosc's face, touching his blindfold, he had turned his head away, feeling it slide down to his shoulder again. He'd pulled her close, then, feeling accomplished that he had startled her.
Before he knew it, the song was over and they had stopped dancing. Sin's hair was a fair bit more wild than it had been and he was pretty sure his was no better. He didn't even get a chance to say anything, to even catch his breath before she stepped away and curtsied and complimented him and fled, leaving him sans partner on the dance floor.
One hand ran over his blond hair before both were slipped back into his pockets. He could use a glass of water, but he could also wait. Sin had fled for a reason and he wasn't about to follow her to the refreshments table.
So, instead, he decided to take this chance to go and get his party favor, since he hadn't picked one up when he and Arachne had arrived. He picked one from the second row.

(( First row for Tset! ))
As much as Tsetsiliya did not like to be late, she felt that tonight was a token exception. She wouldn't let on to Gabrian how she started to have doubts when he didn't show up on time, sitting on her bed in her black and white dress, hair let down for the first time in ages. Perhaps she didn't know him as well as she thought, and it would be like just another day at Madam Morrigan's where she didn't learn her lesson and had fallen for somebody's ploy again. But no, no - he seemed very much like a nice boil, so something assuredly had gone wrong. She also wouldn't let on how relieved she was to find it was the boil's Death Charm that had caused the delay, and not by a change of heart on his master's part.
Oh yes, she was terribly, terribly relieved.
"I do not mind." Tsetsiliya smiled at Gabe and in turn her hand in his arm gave it a small squeeze of agreement (or it could have been nerves, who knew with the ghoul?). She was happy now that she had been to so many deghoultant parties, and as such had a gown fit for this occasion. One gloved hand kept the hem just high enough for her to walk without tripping. Despite that, she, too, was admiring the way the demon common area had been transformed in such a short amount of time. Their hostesses had really done a fine job, but it wasn't surprising, as their kind had a flair for this kind of thing. Her doubts about the evening were still quietly milling about in her brain, and amidst them she picked out Gabe's mumbled words. She blinked in surprise. Awkward, him? Surely not!
"I-I am thinking it will be fine," she replied, trying to assure herself as much as him. "At least.. I am thinking so, since I am also not, you can say, the party type?" A small grain of truth amidst her nervous words. She was secretly hoping things wouldn't be terribly awkward, but if anything she expected to be the awkward one out of the two of them. But perhaps another grain of truth couldn't hurt to give them both some assurance. "I-If it is counting, you are the first person to ask me to a party? So it is my first time going with somebody else who is asking me.. other than my cousin."
If the blush to her ears was any indication, it firmly cemented her position as the awkward duck in this party of swans. Her words had missed the mark again. Luckily they had arrived at last, and immediately her eye was drawn to the first row of gifts as well. "I-It is very nice of them to be giving to us favors.." Her eye was soon caught, however, by a twirl of purple on the dance floor. There were a few people dancing already, two of which were actually a lovely shade of purple - come to think of it, she couldn't see which one had initially caught her eye, but she immediately registered what they were doing.
Dancing. It'd been a while since she'd done anything but stumble across the dance floor. Her gaze flickered to Gabe. Were they expected to dance as well? She didn't want her escort to find out how terrible she was at dancing. No wonder she disliked deghoultant parties.

Riley seemed just a little surprised that Barth had suddenly started speaking to her in thoughts, but she didn't let on too much. There's no legitimate reason for him to be spying on this event, which leaves his reasoning to, by process of elimination, be illegitimate. Her eyes twinkling mischievously. To an outsider, this would seem rather intimate. I think he's worried we're becoming friends. Either that.. or he's getting a good look at some of the student body's finer specimens. Both options are unsavory, not to mention he's probably going to fall. Again. Her chest rose and fell in a sigh. Nevertheless.. I find myself at odds with whether I want to do anything about it or not.
Her eyes tilted to the side, watching Sin's spectacle. As her and Barth had been more or less swaying sluggishly for the last few minutes, she found Sin's movements both intriguing, and horrifying.
.. Is that dancing? She asked cautiously. I don't think I want to do that.

Both good guesses. Barth thought.
Christof did have a thing for demonesses, he'd noticed. Although he wasn't sure if it was about the marks, or the anatomy.
"Yes. That's a little, err, fast for me," Barth admitted, on the subject of dancing. Also, succubus demons had different sorts of dances. And dance parties. Sin and Rosc's dizzying and definitely spicy whirl of steps had come to an end with the end of the song. Barth released Riley civilly.
"But tango is a competitive dance." He executed a pointed yawn.

Why did she find herself consistently surprised by Barth? He knew exactly what to say to make her interested in a subject. It was dangerous. Nevertheless, the idea of something being competitive drove her instantly to awareness, and she narrowed her eyes for a moment, before they clouded over foggily.
Oh, she was not about to be trumped.
The introduction of Riley to the wondrous wealth of knowledge available at the touch of an eyephone, or a computer, could end up being the biggest mistake of all time. However, for now, it would come in handy. Since Israfel had already gotten her worried about her dancing prowess for the upcoming Scareintine's Day dance, she had been looking up some modern dance interpretations in her spare time. The only issue was that on paper, dance moves seemed easy. In real life, one had to have poise, balance, and grace to make the moves themselves look good.
While she currently pulled up all of the dance moves on tango that she'd read, they still wouldn't help her look like Sin and Rosciel. The only thing that would help her look like Sin and Rosciel.. were Sin and Rosciel. She merged the two piles of information - one being the dance moves, and the other being the visual performance the other demons had just performed, before her eyes focused sharply on Barth once more.
Suddenly, her elbows rose up, and her poise was impeccable. She took Barth in her arms, switching positions suddenly so that she was leading, and snapped him against her fully. Her eyes were filled with a fierce determination - if they were going to dance, they were going to dance to win.
Then let's play.

Barth slumped into her grip.
"Err, Riley...? We aren't going to go very fast, are we? Because I- erk!"
And then it was too late, because slow, slower, and slowest was no longer on the table. Barth instead concentrated on buckling up, keeping his horns in an upright position, and trying not to slam into anything.

Buffet~~~~ It was an easy task. Claire trotted up to the table and started eating. She knew this was a fancy party, so she remembered her manners. She also had to remember to leave a large amount of food for the others. So she tried everything and left. She had a feeling that Riley and Barth wanted to be by themselves, so she sat on a chair and played zombiejump on her eyepod. It wasn't fair for her to follow Barth everywhere, she knew from experience that he wouldn't like that.
She beat her highscore and shouted "YES! Beat that!" happily. She didn't really care.

Riley knew it was going to be an uphill battle, trying to get Barth to dance with her. It was his fault she was determined in the first place, so she felt no remorse for him. In fact, if he was really going to be this difficult, she would have to take matters into her own hands. Or, tentacles, in this case.
One tentacle each wrapped around Barth's wrist, while another clasped his collar to keep him straight. Don't fall asleep. She commanded, before he was suddenly twirling away from her by the tentacles that held his hands. They pulled him back to her with a rapid movement. Now just do what I do. You can handle that, right? Her voice had a touch of challenge in it.
Her leg bent around his, kicking forward and then back in traditional tango style.

As he waited for an answer, he guided her towards the refreshments table anyway, a bit hungry himself. He had to admit that they had really gone all out on the spread and that was a bit surprising to see... but pleasing nevertheless. It just meant that there was a lot to pick from. But before he could make any sort of choice, he noticed something... pinkish out of the corner of his eye. Shifting his head, he noticed it was West.
Ah, so Wrath decided to come along as well? Not bad. Though... what was his obsession with pink? Pink was not a good color by any means (though he'd agree that green wasn't the grandest of colors, almost any color was better than girl!pink), he had to leave it alone that West just didn't make it look bad. What was the term he had been hearing about school? Man!pink?
Yes... in his case, it wasn't the glaring pastel pink he abhorred but.. of little import. He held nothing against West for his love of darker pink. The wrath demon's bow was met with a proper one from Livi's end, simply because he could help it, but he smirked at his. "Not as of yet. Can you offer an opinion on what would be best to enjoy first, good man?" Since it seemed West had a little bit of... well... everything. "They really went all out on this, didn't they." Noticing his hand, his brow jacked up as he looked at it. "Is that from the music stand?" He had seen it attack him, but he didn't realize it had been that bad. "Is it healing at all?"
But, ever the socialite he was trained to be, he had noticed Gabe and his date arriving to the party as well. It almost struck him as odd that Gabe was.. a bit fashionably late, but such things were odd to begin with. And since the Envy demon was in red tones tonight instead of normal acid, eye blinding green, he knew he wouldn't be seen as easily.
But it was rude to shout in such cases, so he raised a hand and hoped to get Gabe's attention that way. Shouting was bad, but keeping it polite was fine. "Gabrian. Good to see you made it."

Barth was, at the very least, not actively working against her. She didn't have to deal with struggling. Feet-dragging was a different matter.
He dragged dangerously close to the floor as Riley twirled and yanked him back upright.
His thinking processes were trying to catch up with the verbal repertoire and dancesteps, and his body came to the conclusion that it should shut down immediately, warnings not to fall asleep be damned.
A second, gulped, "...Riley," was all he managed.

Barth was very steadily proving to be the worst person to attempt a tango with. She might have had an easier time if he was trying to get away, but instead he was slumping into her arms, looking about ready to pass out.
Really now, Barth. One would think you could do a little better than that. How disappointing. She briefly considered wrapping a tentacle around every joint in his body, but suddenly found herself very uncomfortable with the idea of puppeteering Barth through a dance. Instead, she lifted him up slightly, so that the top of his feet rested on hers, and she led him through some of the less moving dance steps.
At one point, her tentacles released him, allowing him to slide quite effortlessly down the length of her body. This almost looked like it was meant to, until she recaptured him by the waist and snapped him back up straight against her. At the very least, his absolute lack of ability was making her feel just a little bit smug.
I suppose I underestimated you after all, Barth. And here I thought you'd one-up me one more time.

"Have I been giving you that impression?" Barth asked faintly, as he slid dangerously down, resting on parts of Riley less PG-rated than her shoulder.
She righted him again. He gave her a look. "Never in exertion-based activities, I'm happy to report. ...Didn't you say you'd never danced before?" He took a brief, exhausted pause while they were pressed against each other to check the window.
Christof's still there. He added.

Carthusia was engrossed in the food. Perhaps "engrossed" wasn't a strong enough word, but she tried to keep the damage and crums to a minimum. It was all just so YUMMY. She gathered up a heaping plate for her and her date to share and waltzed up to Envy, happy as a clam. She gave a little wave to West, whom she hadn't seen in a good while. She offered him one of the candies she's snatched from the table. "Good to see you, West. How have you been lately?" Pride offered part of the plate to her date as well, silently wishing she could spontaneously grow extra arms so she could carry a drink easily as well. The party was a little stuffy, but at least most of the Sins had been here. That meant the party was good. Most of the demons here were ones Carthusia had seen before. There was Claire and Sin and Barth and West, of course, among some of the other demons. When she had been reintroduced to Sin, she of course gave a little bow.
Purple skin would have looked downright bizarre on anyone but her and Riley, she figured. Tapping her finger against the plate, Pride was eying the rest of the guests. Was Barth hanging all over Riley? Huh, he must have been tired.
"And might I add, you look quite dashing tonight, Livius." Carthusia said with a smile. When she had him on her arm, she practically beamed with her Sin. She was happy and quite proud of the fact that their plan was working so well. And damn did they look good together tonight!

West's - Sitting innocently in it's velvet lining was a very sharp blade with a cast of sapphire to it. Gabriel's Box - Nestled in crushed velvet was a gold snake bracelet with onyx eyes. Rosc's Box - Sitting innocently in it's velvet lining was a very sharp blade with a cast of sapphire to it. Tsetsilliya's Box - Nestled in crushed velvet was an ivory snake bracelet with ruby eyes.
