It took Midnight a second to realize that Erica was addressing her. In an attempt to cover up the fact that she just immitated a bowling pin, she sprang to her feet. "Yes ma'am!" she yelped, attempting a clumsy salute while ignoring the fact that she was thuroughly slathered in blood. Turning sharply on her heels, Midnight attempted to make her way to the office. The trip was a slippery one and her feet couldn't seem to hold traction on the floor. After a few seconds of the rubbery leg dance, she reached the office and found the reciever for announcements. Only then did she realize that she had no idea what to say.
That would have been handy to think of in advance, she thought while her fingers worked to bring the speakers to life. "
I-If there is anybody else human out there, again, p-p-please c-come to the office!" she stuttered into the reciever. "
A-a-also remember there are phones in classrooms. L-let us know that y-your out there please!" Taking a deep breath and gulping loudly she hung up the reciever with a thud. Midnight took a second to compose herself, leaning against the desk to keep herself from swaying. She felt nauseous from the smell of blood all over her, her arms ached from carrying the desk and chair, and her legs felt like jelly from sprinting. Fighting back tears and the urge to vomit, Midnight shook her head then smacked herself in the head a few times with the heel of her hands. "Stop stop stop!" she commanded herself sternly, wacking herself a few more times. Finally, she felt herself regain composure. At least enough to speak. Popping her head out of the door, she spotted the girl who seemed to be in charge.
Erica was it? she thought, assuming this was the girl who used the PA system before. "W-was that ok? Do you want help out here?" Midnight squeaked, her voice cracking.
