User ImageRaziel nodded in agreement that it was important to have a good place to sit of lay down when one intended on reading for a good portion of time. Raziel definitely intended to venture back to the library in the near future to continue reading all the wonderful things he had found there. If what Ellion said was true there were more books in there than he had ever seen and would spend quite a bit of time reading.

“I do admit you company is more enjoyable than some angels I have encountered.” Raziel said softly; almost as if he was afraid by letting the human know such a thing he would be giving information that could be used against him or his kind later. Raziel however smiled when Ellion said he could show him the navigational tools, “I would like that very much.” The angel stood to accompany Ellion. Following the man through the door he couldn’t help but gasp at the new portion of the library that was revealed to him. The tools that lay before them on tables amazed Raziel greatly.

Watching and listening carefully about each tool described to him Razil soaked in the information. Not to use later but just to learn it to have it. Everything about the strange tools excited him, the way humans had made up for not always being able to find their way fascinated him. “Boring me? Never, I never thought one could come up with so many things to help find ones way. So I suppose it does seem excessive to me but some of the tools are better versions of other ones. Keeping things from the past allows you to know how you reached the present. There was a phrase I read earlier in a book today what was it. Oh, If you do not know the past you are bound to repeat the mistakes that were made then.” Raziel said smiling.

Seeing the angel amazed at the new side of the library, Ellion chuckled softly. "Sometimes it amazes even me how large I've allowed this place to grow. Of course, it's my own personal secret garden...I couldn't begrudge myself just that. Any other room in the house I'd gladly do without, but I don't know where I'd be without my books to welcome me home. Sometimes I think I'd have gone mad long ago," he said somewhat wistfully, allowing his mind to drift for only a moment.

Smiling at Raziel's quote, Ellion said, "Yes, that's a famous one. It's something people and politicians alike forget all too often."

After they had finished looking over all of the devices Ellion had collected, he stood back and said, "Well, that's all I've got. I must say, it's nice to have someone else around who's interested in all this. It's hard to find good company these days." Smiling at the other man, Ellion looked up briefly at the clock before announcing, "Ah, we've already spent a good deal of time here. It's about dinner. What would you like to eat? Anything...within reason of course," he added, hoping there wasn't anything too exotic or complex Raziel wanted.

User Image"It is much bigger than the library I had access to in paradise." Raziel said looking around at the library once more. "I didn't know a library could be someone else's secret garden. That is how I felt about the library I had access to in paradise." Raziel admitted softly a small smile on his face. "I would go mad without scrolls or books," he said almost as softly.

"Politician what kind of creature is that?" Raziel questioned. "I'm not good company..." Raziel said softly. "I have been anything but good company, since I have been here." the angel said. "Fruit is good. Most angels prefer things that the earth itself created. Milk, honey, fruit, and vegetables." Raziel explained softly. "Anything like that makes us more than happy."

He would have assumed that in a place like Heaven there would have been a library of nearly endless proportions, ever growing as information was born in any of the worlds. He was a bit proud to think that the size of his library outstretched even that of Paradise, but at the same time it made him wonder why the library int Heaven didn't have more books after all.

"Oh, well, a politician is a type of human's position, their job. We elect people into positions of power to make decisions and laws on our behalf for the greater good of all people. Unfortunately, that power can really go to peoples' heads, and they can constantly be at the whims of the people they serve and thus they sometimes do more to make the people happy than to do what's best for them, for fear of losing favour and, thus, power.

"There was an ancient philosopher named Socrates who believed that, in politics, the people most suited to the job would inevitably be the ones to take on these responsibilities for fear of being ruled by a lesser man. I guess he never accounted for how selfish people can be sometimes," Ellion mused quietly, not realizing how depressing it sounded.

Smiling, Ellion said, "Don't trouble yourself with such things. I can hardly blame you for any of that, and I do hope you haven't been dwelling on it. You're wonderful company. I wouldn't bother saying so if I didn't mean it and want you to know so."

Thinking about it as they left the library, Ellion said, "Well, those sound simple enough. What about grains? Oats, rice, bread...those kinds of things? If you like milk and honey, I should have the chef prepare some of her Queen's Pudding. It's a milk pudding with honey and a hint of mint. It really is divine."

Leading the way into the kitchen, Ellion smiled when the small cooking staff all bowed to him. Addressing a woman standing before a large stove and boiling something in a large pot, he said, "Amelia, I have special instructions for dinner tonight." Explaining the menu as the woman gave a brief look over at Raziel, she nodded, her blank expression never changing. Leaving once more, Ellion said, "Well, it shouldn't take them long. Would you prefer to eat in your room again?"

User Image"i'm sure there are many more scrolls of which I did not have access to, but I read everything which I could." Raziel said softly recounting all the scrolls he had read. "I suppose it might be because I stayed in one place in paradise." Raziel said softly.

"So humans have positions as angels do?" Raziel questioned almost in awe. He wondered how diverse humans had made their positions. Angels had very few, teachers, warriors, guardians and a couple more. "An angel is tested for what position they might take." the angel informed. "It sounds like a great idea but there are many failings in such an idea, the seven sins are the greatest ones."

Raziel was pleased to hear that Ellion did not think of him as truly poor company. He blushed softly when the other said he hoped he hadn't dwelled on how he was poor company, he had in fact dwelled on the thought. "Grain, oats, rice, and bread...they sound good?" Raziel said smiling. "Thats sounds great," Raziel said smiling a bit excited about the new human delicacy to try.

Raziel followed the man into the kitchen and watched Ellion converse to the woman. "That would be great, I don't know how much more wandering I can take." Raziel finally admitted.

"Stayed in one place...?" Ellion repeated, not understanding exactly what Raziel was saying, but letting it slide. Perhaps the records of heaven were so extensive that different subjects were kept in different areas.

Scratching his head a bit, Ellion said, "I suppose. We have many different positions in government...everything from local to national, and every country's system is slightly different. Then there's all the positions in a company, and everything beyond...it's a lot, but nothing spectacular, I suppose," he explained with a defeated smile, not entirely sure if his explanation was sufficient.

"Well, there are often systems of testing for positions here as well. You won't get a job at a dairy farm if you can't prove you can milk a cow. For things like being a politician, however, all you have to do is get people to vote for you. It's supposed to be that people vote for those they think are most fit to lead, but it doesn't always work out that way. Instead, it usually boils down to who is the best at manipulating human emotions. It's more about convincing people you would be a good leader than actually having the ability to rule. Humans are indeed very flawed."

"Ah, of course," Ellion said, a bit concerned that Raziel might collapse or overexert himself. "Please, let us then." Leading the way upstairs after giving a brief order to a passing maid on where they would be found, Ellion again brought a small table between the bed and the guest chair so that they might both be comfortable as they continued their chat.

"How have you been fairing today, then? Have you been able to walk around well? If you ever feel faint or are in any pain, please do not hesitate to alert one of the servants. As my guest, they are obliged to do whatever they can to assist you." The last thing Ellion wanted was for Raziel to injure himself or get into trouble. If his wings came back black...Ellion wouldn't think of it. They were actually starting to get a long; it had to be a sign that the angel was healing - body and heart.
