Mitsu smiled warmly at the two elder vampires though she wasn't entirely sure she'd want to be alone with them. Like Desmond she didn't suspect a problem so much as...more awkward questions...and no way to escape. "I appreciate that, thank you."
At the prospect of leaving again to retreat to Desmond's room, Mitsu wasn't sure what to say to Lily's question....nor did she know what to make of the smirk his dad had on his face. Why was he smiling like that?
"I'm not sure," Mitsu said honestly looking back at Desmond as he started to lead her along.
----
"Alright, lions and tigers it is." Sadly Klyde didn't even have to look at the map as he started to lead Riyo along.
"Hey, its the least I can do," Klyde said softly focused on the path up ahead. "It doesn't quite make up for my....family," Klyde decided to leave it vague. While his brothers had been a nuisance his father had been the real winner of the whole situation. He knew his father was an a** but he never would have imagined he could find all new heights to reach. "I'm just glad you aren't holding it against me." Reaching out for her hand as they walked he gave it a squeeze. "If I lost you again because of that....I don't think I would know what to do."

"I've got piiictures~" Lily exclaimed, her smile broadening as she trotted to grab the photo album that was always somehow within her reach when company was around.
Desmond came to a halt and immediately whirled around to look at his mother, eyes wide with fear. "No mom. Not the pictures." he begged, though it didn't get anything from his mother as she returned to Mitsu's side and opened the photo album of the damned. He had hoped to finish this night with some of his dignity in tact... But there was no such luck.
"Now here's Desmond as a baby. He was so cute with those big blue eyes..." Lily mused, the first page full of infant shots. One with her and Edmond looking only slightly younger than the present, but still the same smile they had today.
"And here he is when he was two years old." The next page was various pictures of an obviously young blonde boy with a big smile on his face either playing with blocks or doodling on a piece of paper. Apparently he was a happy baby... And then there were the token naked baby pictures. Which made Desmond cover his face in shame. "Oh God. Please close it."
---
"I'll never hold something your family does against you." Riyo assured, getting distracted as they walked past the various creatures. Were those monkeys? How weird. "I know what it's like to be... Stuck with family.."
Riyo froze at her words, suddenly realizing the implications. "She'll never go away, will she?" She asked, referring to her mother. "S-she's gonna haunt me until one of us is dead..."

"Pictures?" Now that seemed to perk Mitsu's interest as Desmond's mother grabbed the photo album that seemed to appear out of no where and brought it near. Despite Desmond's obvious lack of enthusiasm Mitsu turned eager eyes toward the pages full of frozen memories.
"Aww, Desmond. You're so cute." Mitsu smiled, a little giggle escaping at the sight of the naked baby pictures. He really had been adorable and apparently very happy. Mitsu silently wished that happiness would have continued for him and that he hadn't experienced the sorrow that he had.
As Lily turned the pages, Desmond got a little older, his smile much the same though it was obvious he was a little sickly. He had such a charming look about him though, much like the Desmond she knew.
----
It was a relief to hear that Riyo wouldn't hold anything against him. It was a silent fear he had that his father could single handed crush all the work he had done to win back the girl he cared for to the point it would be unrepairable.
"W..what?" Klyde turned forward Riyo as she seemed to have an epiphany about her situation. "N..no. You can't think like that." Klyde frowned trying to bring her close so that he could wrap his arm around her shoulders. "She is never going to bother you again and I will do anything I can to make sure of it."

"I am not." Desmond whined, refusing to look at the pictures. The bad part of him wanted to burn every single picture of him as a child... Though he wasn't that heartless.
"Yes you are, sunshine." Lily backed Mitsu up, flipping the pages to later in the preteens...
Desmond started to look much healthier... But significantly less happy.. Until the smiles just stopped. Most of the pictures were obviously done without his consent, either gaining a glare from the person behind the camera or completely ignoring it in favor of working on homework or covering what was most likely a violent piece of art.
And then there was a picture of angry naked Desmond in the shower. Luckily the picture cut off at his lower torso. "Hehe. He was so upset in that one." She pointed out... Causing Desmond to glance.
"Oh for crying out loud. You kept it?!"
---
Riyo didn't reply when Klyde tried to assure her about the situation. He couldn't guarantee that... Moreover, it was his father handling her case. He was obviously a good lawyer. You could tell just by looking at the house he had and his children's cars.
And if he did happen to lose.. How would he treat her and Klyde?
Looking rather miserable, it appeared she was about to say something as she scooted in close... Until something caught her eye.
Eyes widening at one of the creatures, Riyo quickly moved towards the cage, staring up at a long-necked animal with awe.
"It's... A giraffe..." It sounded like she was in disbelief. She had no idea they were so big. "Its so big!" She exclaimed, not realizing just how loud she was being. "It's like the size of 5 bears!"
A couple of parents with their children walking by couldn't help but gawk at the reaction a teenager was having at the giraffe. What rock had she been living under?

Mitsu watched with almost a sad smile as Desmond's mood in the pictures began to change the older he got. She knew now what had happened to make that change. It didn't look like he had really consented to a single photo which made her sad, but when Desmond's mother pointed out a particular photo Mitsu couldn't help but blush, her hand coming up to cover her mouth to prevent Desmond from seeing the slight smile she had on her face. He looked rather mortified in the picture and maybe just as mortified here in the present realizing his parents had kept the photo....but it was sort of funny despite that.
"I..I'm sorry Desmond," A small giggle escaped despite how she tried not to. Hopefully he wouldn't be too upset with her over it.
----
The silence really wasn't reassuring that his words were making an ounce of difference. He knew Riyo was scared and honestly he was at a loss for what to do. Its not like he could sabotage his father's case, though if he tried to call Klyde in he sure as hell wouldn't go. There was no way he was going to be made an example of to show how violent Riyo could be, it hadn't been her fault and he had most certainly deserved worse.
When the feline was suddenly distracted and pulled away, Klyde tilted his head a little at the reaction. He could have guessed she had probably never been to the zoo before but he never expected her reactions to be so....loud? Smiling a little knowing he was at least sharing something with her that she hadn't yet gotten to experience he came up beside her a hand coming up to the side of her head to pull her closer. Once she was close enough he placed a kiss to her lips before pulling back with a grin. "You're rather cute, you know that?"
Unfortunately, the path they were on now was leading them out into a sunny area without much shade. If Klyde had known they were going on this type of adventure he would have brought a hat of some sort to cover his head because as it stood now the sun was full on hitting him in the face. At least it didn't feel like there was any damage being done yet but that wouldn't be the case for long. "Let's stop by the gift shop before we go too far. See if I can get a hat." He added so that she might guess the reason as he brought up a hand to shield his face.

Hearing Mitsu's laughter, Desmond shot her a small glare, though it was by no means serious. If he could blush, his face would be a whole new tone of red.
Smiling at Mitsu's laughter, Lily quickly retrieved the photo from the album and offered it to her. "Here. I'm sure Desmond would appreciate you having it much more than me."
And then Desmond's jaw dropped. "Are you serious? You're giving her a picture of me naked?" How many kids could say that?
"Would you rather I kept it to show to all my friends?" Lily asked with a tilt of her head.
"... No, I wouldn't." She did have a point...
---
Riyo was so busy examining the giraffe she didn't realize Klyde's lips were so close until he pressed them on her, a muffled surprised sound escaping. "Am not." She mumbled and folded her arms, only now realizing how loud she was being from the glances other patrons were giving her.
The mention of the gift shop made her realize Klyde was exposed to the sun. Glancing back at the giraffe one more time, Riyo immediately began following Klyde to the gift shop. "You gonna be okay? We can leave if the sun's gonna hurt you..."

Mitsu did her best to keep from laughing though Lily did a fair job of helping when she pulled the photo from the album and held it out for Mitsu to take. Now blushing and looking a little awkward, Mitsu grasped the picture lightly. "Uh..t...thank you?" Now that the photo was in her hands she couldn't help but stare, her face all the redder because of it.
----
"Nah, I should be fine. They have hats at the gift shop along with ample amounts of sun screen." It didn't take them long to find the gift shop and Klyde immediately went over to see what they had as far as hats leaving Riyo to look around if she wanted. There were the normal things, t-shirts and large plush animals, other toys and games. The only real draw back was the gift shop was full of children and their parents, most of the squealing brats wanting this or that.
"Mommy look, its a kitty!" A small child squealed with delight running up toward Riyo, hands reaching for her tail. Animal hybrids weren't all that uncommon but it still seemed to amaze children now and again, especially when they had spent their day looking at animals.

"Oookay. Lets go to my room, shall we Mitsu?" It may have been formed like a question, but Desmond wasn't really giving her a choice as he grabbed the girl's hand and started leading her that way. No chance he was going to turn around this time.
"Goodnight sunshine!" Lily wasn't going to object this time. She'd apparently met her 'embarrass son' quota.
It looked like Edmond had already disappeared. Most likely to the living room or the kitchen to relax after a hard day's work.
Once they were safely tucked in Desmond's room, he shut the door and locked it, letting out an exasperated sigh. "Y-you can throw that away." He assured her, obviously looking embarrassed even though his face held no red.
---
While Klyde looked for a hat, Riyo decided to explore the dangerous jungle called the gift shop, full of the flesh-eating beasts called children.
The feminine side was immediately drawn to the stuffed animals... Which was incidentally where more of the little cretins were.
The shouting of a small child behind her back hadn't really caught her attention, considering there were stuffed tigers, lions, panthers, leopards, and other 'kitties' surrounding... But the yanking of her tail sure did.
Immediately tensing, she looked back at the child with eyes that screamed 'you little s**t'. "That. Hurts." She said through her teeth, doing her best not to shout obscenities at the child.

Mitsu didn't protest as Desmond took her hand and led her down the hall back toward his room. Once they were well within the safety of his closed door she relaxed a little staring down at the picture in her hand. "B..but," Mitsu brought the picture close turning away slightly encase Desmond tried to grab it. "Your mom gave it to me." So...she wanted to keep it? "I...don't have any pictures of you." She glanced awkwardly at the picture again her cheeks growing red. "Though...I never imagined the first picture I would have would be of you in the shower." But his facial expression was rather priceless.
----
It didn't take long for Klyde to come back, a hat placed on his head and the smell of sun screen very apparent. Seeing the child with Riyo's tail in its hands, Klyde quickly stepped over toward her.
Thankfully the mother or general caretaker of the child wasn't far behind the small beast, scooping them up after she made little 'Jimmy' let go. "I'm very sorry." She said shortly looking like she was at her wits end. It was a little more apparent why when she gathered up three more children trying to shuffle them toward the door. Either she was a 'busy' woman or she was babysitting.
"You okay?" Klyde asked placing a hand on Riyo's shoulder.

To say Desmond was surprised that she was insisting on keeping it was an understatement. "If it's any consolation, neither did I." He assured her, looking up at his ceiling. It made him remember something.
With a small smile, the vampire walked over to his desk and turned on the light. "I'm gonna show you something nobody's seen in a long time." With any luck this would help them forget the fiasco.
His next stop was the closet door, entering empty handed and returning with a small step ladder, which he set up in the corner to reach the drawings that were taking up residence on that part of the ceiling.
Carefully, he removed each image and placed it on the desk, a very dark blue paint showing through with what looked like little stars painted on it. "This might take awhile."
---
Riyo seemed relieved when she had her tail back, holding the appendage to her as she nodded at the apology the woman offered.
"I'm fine." She assured, looking down at her tail as if she was trying to assess any damage. "Generally I just forget it's there, but it hurts like hell when somebody pulls it."
After a couple more moments of preening, she looked out towards the animals. "You ready?" She was apparently pretty excited to see everything else, and who could blame her?

Slipping the picture away in her pocket carefully Mitsu turned her attention back to Desmond as he mentioned showing her something that hadn't been seen in a while. Curiously she watched him re-enter the room with a step ladder and start to pull the pictures from the ceiling one by one. "W...what are you doing?" She asked curiously as she took a step closer her eyes settling on the paint. Were those....stars?
----
Letting Riyo calm down for a moment after the tail grabbing incident, Klyde nodded when she asked if he was ready. "Yeah, let's go." With a smile he wrapped his arm around her shoulder leading her back out into the zoo, immediately heading to the area with all the big cats. He, however, got a little distracted on the way seeing something Riyo might like. Or at least had a feeling she would like.
"You want to check this out first?" Klyde asked pointing to the sign that said zoo nursery, new ocelot cubs on display.

"You'll see." Desmond assured her with a smile, moving the step ladder a little to grasp at more papers and repeating the process until the ceiling was completely clear.
It had taken roughly 15 minutes for the vampire to take down all the papers off... But it was quite a different sight when he did.
There were little constellations carefully painted above them, thin lines to show each connection. Obviously it wasn't a map of the stars, and there were no doubt some of them were missing, but it was quite the little project.
"I started it when I was little." He admitted, walking over to the snake's lamp to turn it off for the night, then over to the desk light. "You have a lot of time on your hands when you don't go to school or play outside in the sun, so this was what I did for fun."
But the striking part didn't happen until he turned off the light. While the lines were in normal white paint, the stars were glow in the dark. "It's not accurate or anything, and they're just little dots, but at the time I thought it was cool." Now he had mixed feelings about it. Any other guy who walked in would think it was queer of him to still have it up, but he'd put so much time into it that he didn't really want to paint it over.
---
Riyo looked more excited the closer they got to the cats, so when Klyde paused her eyes looked to him questioningly.
"Check out w.." When she caught sight of the sign, her face lit up like a firework. Almost immediately, she grabbed Klyde's hand and pulled him towards the area.
When they reached the enclosure, Riyo's heart just about melted right out of her ribcage. Awe was written all over her face, as if the level of cuteness had reached critical mass. "K-klyde... They're so cute I might cry." Which was pretty hilarious. Big scary demon brought to her knees by kittens. Cute little blue-eyed bundles of multi-colored fur who could do nothing but make cute noises and do adorable things.

One by one the pictures were removed, the hidden painting getting bigger and bigger. Even if it wasn't perfect or accurate it was still quite amazing to Mitsu and it showed on her face. Head tilted back as far as it would go she tried to take in the full image, the smile broadening on her face. "That's amazing Desmond." But her smile grew into childish glee when he turned the lights off and the little stars still showed up across the ceiling.
"Wow..." Taking a seat on the floor Mitsu laid back so she could take it all in a little more easily, her white hair pooling around her head as it touched the floor. "I wish I could do something like this." She mused enjoying this new discovery.
----
And so Klyde had been correct. He smiled rather broadly as he watched Riyo practically melt over the tiny wild kittens tumbling about their small habitat rather awkwardly. They didn't look to be very old but they were still trying to move about and play. "I thought you might like them." He mused seeing how transfixed she was over their cuteness. Seeing her face light up like it had gave him hope that he could at least make her feel a little better, if only for a little while. Maybe ease the worry and the stress.

Desmond couldn't help but smile himself at her reaction, immediately taking a seat beside her on the floor. While she might've been focused on his fake starlit sky, he was focused on her. "Who says you can't? Just need a can of glow in the dark paint and a map of the stars." Carefully, his fingers twirled her beautiful white hair on the floor, enjoying the softness of her snow-colored locks. "Not as hard as playing the piano. In fact, I bet you could do a better job than this." As far as he was concerned, they were just little dots that were strategically placed. Nothing more. Anybody could do it if they wanted. "I'm glad you like it, though."
---
"I almost wish I could take one home." Riyo admitted, almost hypnotized by the little fluff balls. "Give Tim somebody to play with when Mitsu and I are out. But I think these ones would tear up everything we own." And that could only go over well. Neither her or Mitsu could stay mad at something that cute for very long. They could barely stay mad at Tim when he ate too much and vomited on the carpet. Generally he just limped to them and both would want to pick him up and love on him. What a playa.
It took Riyo a couple more minutes before she was able to pry her eyes away from the heart-wrenching cute. "I still wanna see the big cats before they close."

"I dunno.." Mitsu looked skeptical. Painting took far more concentration than she had to give apparently. Nothing she ever did seemed to turn out right in art class. It may appear simple but Mitsu wasn't so certain she could do a better job.
Smiling up at him from her spot on the floor she nodded. "I do like it." She continued to look up at him that smile suddenly becoming a little sheepish as she reached up to tug on his sleeve. "Desmond...will you....kiss me again?"
((I just imagine Desmond's parents listening on the other side of the door lol Doing a silent creepy chant for grandchildren .__. ))
----
Klyde mused at the idea of owning one of the tiny fluff balls. They would only be tiny and less destructive for so long though.
"Okay, we'll head that way then," Klyde nodded placing his arm around her shoulders to lead he back out into the zoo and toward the larger cats. It was a fair distance to walk, all of the larger cats resided on the far end of the zoo so they were able to spot a few things on the way. Finally the first enclosure they came upon had a leopard lazily pacing the fence, the creature all but fascinated at the tiny human morsels that gawked at him.
"I think this would be much more entertaining to own. If its going to destroy your stuff anyway might as well go big." Klyde seemed to be joking, at least mostly as he stepped up to look at the cat who paused as Riyo approached. Tail flicking behind it the cat came back around to look at the feline taking in large breaths of air trying to sniff.
