Sonja flashed a grin, "Sounds like my kind of party.."
"Let's find something else to do..." Aydan said nudging her Away from the vent. "Maybe a nice crocodile to torment..."
"Really?"

"I'm sure there are plenty of crocodiles here," Velika offered, oh so helpfully as she fluttered her wings a bit.
Speaking of toothy monsters, not too far from them, Namir shuddered at the sound of grating voices. Who dared to invade his temporary home? He'd already driven most of the predators out of his new territory, and he'd thought that he had encouraged others not to come near.... Ah well, it seemed there would be no rest for the wicked today.

"Velika, I assure you she does not need encouragement," Aydan said shaking his head at the pair. He was going to have to come up with a better plan for keeping the troupe out of trouble...like this swamp.
"Encouragement, no," Sonja flashed her grin. "But a partner in crime makes it all the more fun...Come on, Vel, let's see if we can turn Aydan's bright red mane gray, shall we?"

Namir creeped closer, keeping to the shadows and resisting the urge to growl.

"Anyone see a crocodile we can torment?" Sonja asked slyly. "Wanna see how quick quicksand is?"
"Let's not?" Aydan suggested hopefully. "We could look at some of this nice moss over here...I'm sure it's delightful."

"Actually, that moss is poisonous," Velika added helpfully.
Namir watched them, waiting patiently for the black and red one to move closer.

Aydan's face fell for a moment, "Really? It's a very fortunate thing that you're here, Velika. I would never have guessed that..."
On cue, Sonja started edging towards the moss, "How does it get you, Vel?" She asked eying the velvety growth, "Do you have to eat it? Or touch it? Or is just smelling it enough?" She edged a little closer, "Does moss have a smell?"

"It bites," Valika said solemnly. It was... difficult to tell if she was telling the truth or not.
Of course, their lurker choose that exact moment to lunge out of the shadows and snap at Sonja's neck.

"Woah!" Sonja yelled stumbling back only momentarily - but the next moment her eyes were flashing red at the snapper, "Hey! What's your problem!"
"Sonja..." Aydan said very slowly and calmly as he eyed the creature. "I do not believe it would be wise to make this one angry..."

Velika jumped and fluttered slightly in surprise. "Um... I think... that might be a.... a....."
"Get out of my swamp," Namir snarled.

"What are you, a pale face?" Sonja demanded, not backing down. "You can't claim the whole swamp...what are you going to do? Make all the snakes and toads pack up and move out?"
"Sonja!" Aydan hissed giving a firm tug at the mare's tail. "It's time to leave!"

Sonja glared back not sure who she was more annoyed with, Snapper or Aydan for yanking on her tail like that. Of course, it was Vel's reaction that really had her attention. She really didn't pay much mind to Aydan because...well, he worried all the time - but Vel seemed like a decent fun-loving sort, so if she was worried, well, they might be in some real trouble. "Fine..." Sonja muttered, taking careful steps in retreat and being very careful not to turn her back on snapper face. "We'll go. But I'm not forgetting this!"
"Take to the air," Aydan said evenly, quite eager to see them all out of danger. "I believe we've had more than enough fun in the swamp."

Namir snapped at them again, trying to draw at least some blood before they managed to escape, a lesson that would be sure to stick. Plus, he was feeling hungry.
Velika took to the air quickly, flying high enough to get out of reach before hovering to make sure her companions followed.

Sonja, who was still the closest to the snapper, leaped into the air and kicked back hard hoping to make contact with Jaws before she got out of there. "Come on, Aydan..." she called impatiently.
Aydan spread his wings and leaped into the air behind the others...or, at least Tried to. When he jumped his back leg resolutely remained on the ground, even a little under it. It seems I've found Sonja's quicksand... he thought to himself before returning to more pressing matters. Such as the skinwalker bearing down on him.
