Summoning her phone from subspace, Bellatrix stared at it a moment as it buzzed. The power... To cross the universe, Bellatrix assumed? She wasn't...entirely sure about that. She wasn't sure she wanted that. There were enough problems simply by their existence on earth, who knew what damage they could cause in space?!
Of course, that was her assuming that they'd be followed out there. Assuming that this was was going...intergalactic. Bellatrix wasn't sure where all this concern came from, but come it did. She had a hard time silencing her thoughts so she could do as this guy said and listen. For a time she thought about giving up - her mind was simply too busy right now. But then there it was - the music of the universe. One sound stood out amongst all of them in her ears. Once she heard it, Bellatrix wondered how she could have ever not.

What has been heard can not be unheard, so to speak.

The sound that same loudest to her, was like the wail of blade sliding across blade - metal singing, ringing,...

This seemed unreal. First they go up against this...unbeatable youma only to find they were being watched by someone. Whom, said someone was a floating man, named Kurma, with a giant floating ball at his side... Kurma then proceeds to tell them about outer space travel, TAKES them into space... and now not only was her phone buzzing in its little pocket of subspace, but all he said to listen?

Reaching out Lyra summoned her cellphone out of the subspace... its beckoning call begging to be free'd into her palm. The buzzing was just not from her cellphone, but all those around them. Somehow he had managed to..without the slightest touch, make them all hum their own harmony. She clenched it tight, wondering if this truly was bigger than them all.

She listened intently as he commanded silence and the minds eye to open and listen. He was speaking about just..listening? For what? She heard nothing but the movements of the senshi around her.

Hell, she decided to give it a go. If Kurma really was who he said he was... which he hadn't lied to them just yet so she had a feeling he was (i mean they were in outerspace!), it was worth a shot. Closing her emerald eyes she sighed deeply and listened... probably a bit too hard, because originally she heard nothing. Though... just as she was about to wonder if she was doing it wrong... she heard it. It was small... but powerful. A voice calling back to her, she was surprised she never noticed this before. It was calm...collected... beautiful, but strong and determined in its quest. As she listened she realized that it was one voice calling out to her... but it was composed of lots of smaller voices to make one cohesive one. None of the voices louder than the other, all working together. All forming a mental picture of a twisted rectangle with a line poking out of one corner.

The Lyra Constellation.

Her eyes flew open with wonder... how had she ever missed it? Of course she was just figuring what she heard was the constellation... she had done her research enough to find what "Lyra" was.

The Senshi of Rogue Waves bit back a sigh as he continued to drift, staring at everyone from a ninty-degree angle. He felt a bit envious at the other senshi for their control (nevermind that most didn't dare to venture from their upright and locked positions). And yet... The boy moved to sit up, grinned, and moved his arms in a circular fashion to perform a flip. Two flips. Several. Come to think of it, how often did you get to go out into space?!

As Kurma began to speak once again, the boy turned to face him. Or tried to -- attempts to face Kurma resulted in the boy pulling off several hairpin double backwards sideways helix barrel rolls IN SPACE before a quick triple twist flip kick spin IN SPACE spun him into a more manageable position, just in time for his phone to go off.

And send him on a tubularr cellular jump snatch collect call backflip IN SPACE while he summoned his cellphone, summoning the device and clenching it until he managed to stop himself by grabbing onto Eskimo's shoulder for support. He suddenly wondered how far he could swim in space if he pushed of- NO! Focus, he told himself, looking to Kurma.

"Listen?" He repeated, confused. He tilted his head to one side and waited. And waited. He winced and glared at the various senshi who spoke, sending them each a pointed glare as he struggled to comprehend. What was he listening for? Why couldn't the senshi who kept yapping come a bit closer so he could stuff a glove into their mouths to get them to shut up?

Merope carefully and slowly brought his knees up to his chin in the fetal position, one leg at a time to stare at the Earth and the stars beyond it. He closed his eyes and let out his breath slowly, trying. There was silence; there were the senshi breathing; there were... Wait. He held his breath. He could hear it now: the voices, the music, each note of every cosmic substance.

The boy slowly let himself fall into a loose standing position (or it would be if he was standing straight up, but alas he was still somewhat on his back. Or he was going down a slide). He could hear it, now that he knew what he was looking for. But it wasn't his, the cosmos. He was part of it; some parts began to fade as a melody became louder. Parts began to fade away, first one, two, three, four -- another voice joined in, then another. It was different from the louder sound, and yet... And yet there was something comforting in the quartet, something that lingered before one was left.

One voice, one song that sounded faint all by itself. But it wasn't just the sound -- the sensation of something rolling under his feet, the cool thrum of something against his back that made him spread his arms and bask in the profound sense of freedom. The wild, carefree song that made him raise his head and square his shoulders every time he henshined up. He was Sailor Merope, Senshi of Rogue Waves, and the sound of his star brought a blissful grin to his face.

Eskimo turned fully to face Kurma, her movements slight after she noticed some of her other senshi having trouble.

The power to cross the universe? Would they be able to do this all the time? That would be...incredible. Her eyes seemed to be stuck permanently at 'holy s**t'.

Eskimo turned so she could follow Kurma with her eyes and forgetting where she was she ended up pulling a 360. She had to blink a couple times, dizzy from her spin. Finding Kurma again she stared at him. She didn't answer his question, it didn't seem to need one.

She watched as he thought, not wanting to rush him. Blue eyes flickered up to the glowing orb, but she didn't have much time to ponder what he was going to do with it when her phone started buzzing. She summoned it again flipping it open trying to see who was calling or what was different.

Her mouth opened about to ask how they could show people when she was cut off by his command to listen. The teen stared at him expectantly, waiting for him to say something. But he didn't, she was starting to get confused, but didn't say anything in case she ruined something.

After a long moment he spoke again which made her arch a brow. A voice? What kind of voice? Closing her eyes she tried to listen both to the cosmos and to him, but it was hard. But once he stopped talking and she just let herself float, listening her eyes snapped open. She heard them! There were hundreds of vibrations all mixing together to make a wonderful hum inside her ears.

When he told them to find their own voice she nodded. She assumed he meant the voice of Eskimo, her nebula. Taking a deep breath she let it out, trying to relax trying to calm herself so she could pinpoint the one voice that waited for her.

After a couple moments she cocked her head to the side, there! It was her nebula and the sound of it made her smile. It reminded her of winter nights in front of the fireplace, and snowball fights. Now that she found it she felt like she'd be able to pick it out again easily, it stood out against the rest of the hum.

"What do we do once we've found it?"

He almost felt panic as he lacked basic moving ability. The world Castor know was far out of reach, a fact that became more and more apparent as time trickled by. The simple touch from Perseus however... It grounded him. She was real. As real as him. Physical. Solid. What he was seeing, experiencing...it wasn't some grand illusion. It wasn't a trick. It was real. It was totally and completely real. His heart slowed as he started to feel...calm. It was the closest term he could think of to how he felt. It, this place, this space, they were in-it was so empty. Yet at the same time...Watching Kurma talk, seeing him stand in front of earth- Castor felt like he was just a tiny fragment of something bigger. Bigger then anything he'd ever known and couldn't possibly even truly understand. This place was not void. It was full. Full of a thing so grand his mind just couldn't absorb it all. The feeling swallowed him whole, and left the senshi of hail floating under the vastness.
The immense unmeasurable place that he had simple known as space.

Castor's phone sounded and like a trigger, sound flooded his senses. It wasn't just his ears that felt it. It was in the pit of his gut. It ran down his spine, his arms and out his finger tips and toes. It echoed in his skull. A vibrating thrum like the waves crashing on a silent shoreline. A sound ever moving and powerful, yet it was so basic, just like breathing. You wouldn't notice it unless you wanted to find it. As Castor listened, he thought he could feel another sound. Not hear it, but feel it.
It was a crash, the ting and crack of ice, the sound of shattering and shaping, the thunderous boom of impact. The twang of resonance with a thousand tiny crystals as each one landed on some far away surface. It was a wild, uncontrollable sound, violent and powerful, a force Castor couldn't even think of mimicking or replicating. However...He felt no fear as it rang out inside of his thoughts. He felt oddly relaxed. Like he had heard the sound a thousand times and it was now just a familiar echo, something basic and pure. It was just another part of him.
Yet- There was another part. It wasn't his part but it was close to him, familiar. A tiny sound that was perfectly in harmony. That wasn't his sound, but it was close. It was just like his while being so different. It wasn't his. His sound. His song. The song of a place he just knew. Castor. The word felt like it was stuck in his body, yet the feeling was not unpleasant. Far from it. It was just and vital to his life as blood and bone. Castor. This song that echoed in what he could only vaguely call his soul. It was him.

He opened his eyes, not realizing he'd closed them while the sound a sent him into a gentle lull. Without realizing it, Castor felt his facial muscles move. He'd been smiling. Looking at Kurma, Castor was unsure of what to say.

So he just smiled wider.

Europa already knew she was looking for the fourth-largest moon of Jupiter. Finding out that particular information had been one of the first things she'd done when she'd become a senshi. However, actually finding that moon of Jupiter was another thing. She was only an amateur astronomer at best, and that was with Pyxis's help. Without him, she was lost awash in an ocean of stars. Listen? Well, okay.

She shut her eyes and tried to pick through the sound. If the notes had been dissonant, she thought, it would have been easier. But as it was they weren't and so her eyes remained shut a long time looking for the light that called to her. It was tricky to find - she supposed it was part of the moons being so close together, science about laplace resonances and roche limits, all these things she had read - science that all quietly paled in comparison to what lay before her now, sweeping vistas of stardust painted across the night sky-

And then, with a rush like the water and a low note of whale song, there it was. There was her light. Europa opened her eyes, and as much as she wanted to analyze this moment, she couldn't. There was no room for analysis - amazement consumed her.

The know-it-all senshi bit her lip and stayed silent.

-The ringing of her phone caught her attention from where it had been clutched, and forgotten, in her hand. The power to show the others? Could she actually travel others to space like Kurma had with her phone now? Or was it more figurative of a 'show them'?

His silence had drawn her attention back after a moment curiously, catching him mid 'trance', and when he spoke of singing she'd immediately began her search again. She'd been searching with her eyes, but she needed to search with her ears?

Perhaps it was because she had been looking before.. or maybe it was because they were so close to her namesake in it's watch over the earth. But Polaris, the north star of Earth, the star that had led so many stray sailors and adventurers in the past sang as loud and proud as it's senshi ever had. It was loud and brilliant, unwilling to be drowned out or forgotten now that it's 'voice' had finally caught it's warrior's attention.-

Unfortunately for Themis, the sudden buzzing of the phone in his hand made him drop it.

Fortunately for Themis, the phone didn't fall down straight back down to Earth. (Now that would have been bad)

It was in his attempt to catch it that his lack of fine motor skills when it came to anti-gravity was revealed. His attempt to dart forward left him first spinning, then upside-down as he finally snatched the object back. His hair was over the place. His coat was all over the place. It took a few more attempts before he ended up into a position that remotely was upside-up (it looked like he was laying on an invisible floor, actually.) before he finally caught the next part of Kurma's speech.

Singing ? He didn't catch any si-

HOLY s**t. Okay, now that he was paying attention, now he did. Maybe it came with being a senshi related to sound, but the second he started to truly pay attention, the world around him started to ring as if it was covered in chimes.

There was one chime that rang a little louder, through. A little sweeter. It seized his mind completely, and now that it had it's soldier's attention, it seemed like it would not let it go.

It took a long time -- longer than everyone else -- to hear the low sound of the cosmos, and even then it was soft, as if muffled.

She sat there for an indefinite period of time, eyes closed, listening to the sound of her own breathing of the air that should not have existed. Space and time were relative, and so she did not look for where she knew the Pegasus Constellation was in the sky, did not worry about finding it quickly. Instead, she concentrated on nothing but her steady breathing. In and out. Slow and methodical. The sound, inaudible to any ears but her own, was peaceful, and slowly Pegasus felt her muscles start to relax, having never noticed that she had been on guard this entire time. Floating here in the depth of space, she allowed herself to give in to the nothingness. Occasionally another senshi would break the near-silence, the half-murmured comment or gasp sounding loud compared to the nothingness of everything else, but beyond that everything was still.

Completely still. There was no song, no music, no pulse or beat. Just silence.

There was a faint hesitation as she opened her eyes finally, finally, the disappointed resignation clear in her eyes as she looked up at Kurma, like the last puppy left in the box on the street. The distinction between 'why' and 'why me' was subtle and the line between the two blurred, so much so it was hard for her to tell which she was asking herself. Still, she furrowed her eyebrows questioningly, staring at the man as if expecting him to have all the answers -- he so clearly knew so much, surely he did. Yet the answer was simple -- she didn't have to ask, knowing the moment she met Kurma's eyes.

Doubt.

It was only then, after the moment of recognition, that she heard the low, steady, comforting hum. It was soft, but steady, like the sound of a cello resonating gently, built upon by the rest of the orchestra, never overwhelming. In fact, the sound was almost lost amongst the crescendo of the surrounding cosmos. She knew it was not going to come to her strong -- not now. Not with the sense of despondency she had allowed to overtake her. Yet it was there, soft but steady, and even as she listened it grew louder, as if in hearing it it was inclined to reply. It had not abandoned her.

The thought left a little ache in her chest -- relief, perhaps guilt -- and she looked away from Kurma, relaxing once more.

Kurma said nothing to those who had looked at him in confusion, asked him questions, demanding explanation. He just floated there with the rest of them, observing, lanky legs pulled towards him in a classic meditative position as he waited. The message was clear even without him saying it: find your own method, find your own way. At this point there was nothing he could do to help them, for there was no correct way to do it.

The mileage varied, and so did the speeds at which everyone got the hang of it. Everyone had their own way of recognizing it even, ranging from curiosity to silent jubilation. But when they were all done, Kurma moved a bit again, saying, "Good, good. That was the hard part, but there it is. You've forged the path you need to take, the rest is easy."

He spun the orb expertly between the fingers, and gave a pointed glance at everyone's phones. "Now, if I figured this right, the rest of what you need is already built into those toys of yours. Just focus on that light, that voice, keep it clear in your mind -- then call home. It should answer. Call Earth, and you'll end up back where I met you guys, simple as that."

Kurma stretched back out and put his hands behind his back, lounging as if he were in an invisible hammock, grinning expectantly at them all. All it took now was the simple push of a button. That shouldn't be so hard.

"Call home?" Merope echoed as he looked to his phone. What time was it? If he called home wouldn't he wake up his parents? No, wait -- that was Earth-home. He took a deep breath as he flipped open his phone. He could hear it -- the melody that sang softly to him. The feeling of euphoria, the tang of soft blue light...

Without openign his eyes, Merope pushed the send button, the number already dialed.

Castor wanted to ask how was it hard, the sound was so clear and just..there! He could feel it inside of his ******** skull. But then a p***k of gult hit him. He'd never known. He'd never looked for it before. He'd never felt it before. The sensation of just knowing. He almost felt ashamed of being ignorant. Almost.
"Dude, I have no ******** idea what the flying flipping ******** is going on anymore." The upside down senshi of hail flipped open his phone. The angry face of a cat greeted him and he wished he could call her and go 'HOLY s**t DID YOU KNOW I'M IN ******** SPACE'. He could do that later. Maybe he would call for Derp, Chloe, or *********. They might think it cool he was in space.
Wait- The song in his head let out an almost angry boom, as if Castor best stop ignoring it and get down to business.
Space s**t was serious ******** business.
Okay, phone. Dial home? That was pretty easy. He looked at his fellow senshi.
Then.
He looked at Nemesis.

Did he dare it?
"Hey Nem." He grinned. Might as well.
"If I die I want you to know, I can see under your skirt and it's amazing."

He dialed home pretty quick. Worst case nothing happened and she kicked him. Even so, this was space, and she might miss.

Might.

A lot of things had happened since mid-october.

First he met a talking cat.

Said talking cat revealed that he was some sort of super-hero.

Then he beat up a monster inside a McDonald's restroom with said talking cat.

Then he figured out his best friend was also a super-hero, and from then on it had all went, one thing after the other - Bell, Halloween, his broken arm, crystals...

But he had to admit, this was probably the craziest of them all. Being basically told that you where an alien and were now about to literally do an ET phone home ?

And yet, he couldn't go back to Earth. Not now. His asteroid was singing, waiting, it's lure stronger than danger, stronger than fear of the unknown, stronger than the lure of any siren.

He pushed that button, listened to the call, let it fill his mind whole until there was nothing left going into it - no more fear, no more worry, no more stress.

Just Themis' song.

She flipped her phone open, about to actually call home, because that very damned well was what Kurma had told her to do. Nemesis didn't note that certain infliction in his voice, she wasn't the most perceptive senshi in the cosmos. Nemesis was almost finished dialing the numbers, and then it hit her.

Oh, jesus <********> christ. Nemesis wasn't supposed to dial her home phone number. The steps she had taken up to this point were not going to lead her to popping back home just in time for dinner. She wasn't going to get asked 'how was your day?' by her father. Nemesis was embarrassed for all of two seconds... because two seconds after the realization hit her Castor was commenting about the view.

There was a slight tick at the corner of her mouth, and with a sheer force of will she propelled herself towards Castor, aiming a kick for his head (the one on his shoulders, mind you, it was her best chances at actually hitting him). "I WILL KILL YOU IN YOUR SLEEP." If the kick didn't hit him, maybe those words would haunt his darkest, most violent nightmares. Perhaps he'd wake up in a cold sweat every night at 2 am, fearing for the moment that Nemesis got her revenge.

She wasn't going to her to her own light, she was going to follow Castor to his and promptly kill him.

If only.

Somehow her surge of anger made it distinctly easier to hone in on that dark hum of her planet, and Nemesis all but pounded on the button to her cell phone.

Maia listened to Kurma speak, but it was a bit hard for her to concentrate with the wonderful symphony of music filling her ears and quite frankly her whole being. For a moment she did quite understand what it was he had asked. Had she heard him correctly.

He'd said call home, right? Then calling earth would send her back, so then Earth wasn't home and her phone could take her home. She just had to focus.

She listened and it did not take much effort, her star was singing to her a little more loudly and it was easy to focus on that light. Maia, her star.

She opened her eyes once more and flipped open her cellphone, which seemed to be becoming more and more important every moment and with home in her mind, she pressed send. Oh this was so very surreal and wonderful and fun.
