Danny Yahya "No, it's not instantaneous, but it's also not strictly cause to effect. It's like saying, even if say today is the first time you met me, I could easily hop through time and meet you in the past at some point in time. Then it wouldn't be the first time, it would be the second or even third time." Danny explained thoughtfully as he noticed a girl come in. "Ah, hello." He greeted himself to the girl who came in with a light smile on his face.

 >~< Ally Mirrera >~< -Species: Human Grade: Junior Abilities: psychic powers inherited from her mother-'Being a Psychic necessarily isn't being a sexist...' Ally gave the woman that spoke to her a grateful smile. "Thank you." Nodding slightly(mostly to herself), she made her way over to the bar, her feet falling lightly onto the ground with each step. A few moments later, she took up a seat a foot or two away from the fox-elf and her 'companion'.
"I apologize for not introducing myself properly," she said as she settled down onto the chair/bar-stool-whatever. "My name's Allison, but I go by 'Ally' for short." A few wayward strands of jet-black hair were tucked behind her ear as she spoke. "My mother thought I could find some use in going to the nearby academy." Truth be told, Ally looked older than she actually was; in past encounters with people she'd barely met, she'd easily been mistaken for someone in her early twenties, when in reality, she wasn't even eighteen yet.
"So..." Her gaze fell to the fox-elf woman. "...might I ask for your name?"'...girls are just better at it.'

Scytheress welcomed the distraction from the thought of the past and flourished the girl with an elegant and needless bow. She cradled one arm across her stomach as she swept the opposing arm out to the side while she bent forward. "Je suis Scytheress, à votre appel d'offres.*" It'd been a long time since she'd spoken the French language and it felt good rolling off her tongue. Her time at the bar had become stagnant as of late, but these two seemed to be livening things up quite a bit. A time traveler and a French... When Scytheress straightened, she smiled to the girl. If her parents thought she should be here, chances were she was human with special abilities, but what those might be the woman had no clue. "Can I get you anything to start? Water? Tea?"[/color

Danny Yahya "Nice to meet you, Ally. My name is Danny." He introduced himself properly this time as Ally sat near him and Rem. He remembered he still had food on his plate and continued eating his food as he listened into the conversation Ally and Rem were going to have.

 >~< Ally Mirrera >~< -Species: Human Grade: Junior Abilities: psychic powers inherited from her mother-'Being a Psychic necessarily isn't being a sexist...' An amused smile found its way onto Ally's lips - Scytheress spoke fluent French(to some extent), so carrying on a conversation with her could prove to be entertaining.
"Quelque thé serait fin, si cela est bien(some tea would be fine, if that's alright)," she said with a small nod, smiling. "Si vous arrivez avoir du thé vert, cela serait grand(if you happen to have green tea, that would be great)."
Shifting her focus from Scytheress to Danny, the language she spoke in changed from French to English. "It's nice to meet you too, Danny." She nodded to him in greeting.'...girls are just better at it.'

Scytheress listened attentively to the girl but seemed to stall a moment once she'd finished. Having not heard anything other than the common language of the land for so long, she was dragging a bit with her internal translations. Human languages were always a little more difficult anyway, but after a brief second the fox-elf nodded. She turned to a water heater on the back counter and flipped in on. As it hummed to life, she grabbed a porcelain tea pot and a satchel of herbs. A green light flickered on to signal the water was hot so Scythe emptied the leaves into a concave mesh seated in the pot and then held it under the spicket for the steaming liquid to flow over. Immediately, the sweet smell began to waft from the container. Scytheress held the pot gingerly and set it on the bar near Ally. "How strong do you like your tea?" She thought best to do this transaction in Common rather than French just to make sure she wouldn't get the instruction horribly wrong. While she waited for a reply, she stooped to grab a ceramic cup to go with the tea. "So what do you parents think you can take away from coming to Reed's? Are you a sorceress or some such?"

"Hmm~" Ally tapped her chin in thought for a moment. "As strong as you can make it without it endin' up tasting bitter, I guess." She chuckled to herself.
"As for why my parents sent me here," she continued. "I'm a psychic, actually; inherited my powers from my mother." She smoothed down the front of her kimono-dress before continuing. "My mom's taught me everything she can in th'line of controlling my powers, and she said that what she couldn't teach me, this academy could."
"So." She frowned slightly for a moment, in thought once again. "I guess you could say I'm here to polish off my abilities." She nodded to herself, as if to confirm what she just said.
"And sorry bout the fluent French." She let out an audible chuckle, as she rubbed the back of her head in a sheepish manner. "I'm half-French, thanks to my dad...it's just easier to speak in that language sometimes, y'know?"'...girls are just better at it.'

A psychic? Scytheress leaned an arm on the bar as she waited for the tea to perk to perfection. She'd only ever known one psychic before, and that poor woman was driven mad by the things she saw. Hopefully the young girl before her now would fare better. Perhaps her abilities didn't encompass the same realm that other woman had, but either way, Ally might have a harsh road a head of her. Scythe pushed off the counter when she remembered that not all patrons drank their tea straight. She reached down and grabbed a small jar of honey and a similar jar of sugar. When Ally laughed about speaking french, Scytheress couldn't help but mimic her. "Stiu ce vrei sa spui.*" The vixen tongue of her ancestors felt delicate on her tongue despite sounding forceful. It wasn't nearly as elegant as her Elvish, but she did her best to keep her woodland heritage a secret. Thanks to her ears and tail it was impossible to conceal her demonic blood, but the elf side she could keep hidden. "Can I get you anything else? Food perhaps?" It had been almost four minutes so the bar mistress took the lid off the pot and removed the leaves. While she was emptying the mesh basket, a swirl of shadows creeped up the bar and under the tea pot. They lifted the vessel and tipped its contents into the ceramic cup before setting it down again gently.

 >~< Ally Mirrera >~< -Species: Human Grade: Junior Abilities: psychic powers inherited from her mother-'Being a Psychic necessarily isn't being a sexist...' "The tea's fine for now." Smiling softly, Ally took the (presumably)offered cup of tea. "I just figured I'd grab something to drink for a bit before I head off to find a dorm somewhere on campus."
As she let the tea cool for a few moments, pouring some sugar into it as she waited, a thoughtful look appeared in her reddish-brown eyes. Having recently arrived to the academy, she wasn't exactly sure where the dorms were situated...let alone if the academy even had dorms.'...girls are just better at it.' (( blargh...short post is short >< ))

Dorm somewhere on campus? Scytheress couldn't help the small smile that came to her lips. This seemed to be the first stop Ally had made on her progress to school. She likely would have already made a visit to the registrar's office, but the snoot-toots in there were less than helpful. The fox-elf nodded in silent understanding. While she was just the humble bartender here, she was head of security on campus and she took her duty to better each student's experience personally. Whether that meant breaking up fights, coaching would-be couples, or playing tour-guide, she was up for the task. However her shift wouldn't be up until long after night-fall and Ally should be in her dorm long before then. She switched her gaze over to Danny. The man had been eying them since the new girl arrived so this might just be the match she was looking for. "When you're done with your tea, I'm sure Danny could help you find your room." It it wouldn't have been so obvious, Scythe would have winked at the man as she steadied her gaze on him. Staring straight on, he would understand the small nuances in her expression that Ally would miss. The 'go have a nice night in the company of a cute girl' look.

Danny Yahya "I doubt I could help, I sleep in my Tardis, so I have no idea where the Dorms are. Since I never bothered to look." Danny replied as he brushed off Scyth's attempt at getting him with a girl with ease. He gazed back at Scyth with a light smile of triumph that said he was purposefully trying not to have nice night in company of a cute girl. He took another sip from his drink as he stared.

Ally gave Scytheress a small smile at her suggestion. "The help would be appreciated, ye--" She was cut off when Danny spoke up, mentioning that he didn't know where the dorms were on -campus either.
"It's alright." She let out a soft laugh. "I'm sure I can find it by myself." She took a sip of her tea. "I may not look it, but I am a resourceful little girl."'...girls are just better at it.'

Scytheress met Danny's gaze with a smirk. A sly little devil, he was. She felt a little bad for Ally that her would-be guide was rejecting her, but the fox wasn't out of tricks yet. "Oh, all the better. You both can discover it together. Exploring is always more fun in pairs. And I'm sure the housing commission would hate to hear that one of our students wasn't complying with student residential law." Her fangs glistened as she turned her smile to Ally. "And your resourcefulness might actually make the voyage a success. You can almost never trust a man's sense of direction anyway." The bar mistress issued a gentle chuckle as her eyes flitted back to Danny. Oh he would go with her... and he was going to like it.

Danny Yahya Danny grinned lightly, he was prepared for this. He reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out paperwork. "But I don't need to since the Housing Commission already approved my request that I don't need to live in the Dorms. And I my sense of direction was never good to begin with." He replied with a bright smile as he laid the official paperwork on the counter. He was prepared for this type of encounter.

Scytheress plucked the packet off the bar and held it up. She wasn't really reading anything on the page so much as smirking to herself. She chuckled and then set the papers back o the counter. "Off campus housing is permitted for non-freshmen, indeed, but adequate lodging must be proven pending inspection from the housing authority. Do you really think your tardis, or whatever, will pass inspection if I tell the commissioner you're not living in an actual house?" Blackmail was such a low form of coercion and Scytheress might have felt bad for using it but Danny was just asking for it. Besides, what was so bad about taking an afternoon stroll with a lovely woman around campus? Sure, they were strangers but what better way to learn about an area's time than to go experience it? Scytheress bent forward and grabbed a Styrofoam box from under the bar and set it near Danny. "Here, I'll even let you take your left overs with you." She smiled sweetly so as not to brazenly show the vixen trickery whirling in her mind.
