Sitara watched Dakari bound into the forest and smirked. A deer was literally the easiest thing for her to catch. It didn't fight back with tooth and claw, she didn't have to chase it along the ground, and best of all: it was big enough for her to see from the sky, even in a forest like this. She launched herself into the air and circled the trees, glad that she hadn't challenged Dakari to see who could catch a rabbit first.
The forest wasn't nearly as dense as the forest she'd found Dakari in. Looking down, she saw the flash of white and purple that was her mate. She also caught sight of a group of deer in a clearing by a stream. Angling downwards, she dropped from the sky like a bomb. Sitara hit the deer in the side, knocking it down and breathless as she perched on it's side. A quick bite to the deer's throat and she had her dinner.

"You cheat. I don't know how you'd live if you broke your wings," came Dakari's wry voice through the trees. There was a rustling sound like something scrapping against the forest floor, then Dakari came into view with a young fawn in his jaws, a late or early birth that was still small and young. Apparently the little one and it's mom got separated from the herd, probably to graze with a couple other does. He'd startled the group as he ran through.
"So, how do we call this," he asked, chuckling.

"I did not cheat. No one ever said I had to hunt them from the ground." Sitara replied, smiling at Dakari smugly "And it's a clearing, I wasn't gong to hurt my wings unless a tree decided to jump in front of me. Considering I've never met a tree that has done that before...I felt safe."
The 'Deava eyed the fawn and shrugged. "It shall be a tie. We both technically got a deer...although you're pushing the rule a bit." She grinned. "Come on, let's eat."

Dakari chuckled softly and trotted over towards Sitara, but not too close. After all there was close enough to protect each other's backs while they ate, and then so close that you felt your kill was in danger. He and Sitara had been together for awhile so it wasn't that bad, but both off them still appreciated the space.
As it turned out the clearing was fairly ideal as a sleeping place for the nice. Plently of soft grass to lay down in and the trees at the edge provided plently of cover. The sky was clear and the weather pleasant enough, so neither minded sleeping in the open.
Right before Dakari fell asleep he felt Sitara claim her favorite pillow, his tail, and slipped into unconsciousness with a small smile on his face.
