Just like a crow chasing the butterfly Dandelions lost in the summer sky x x x Dendera was surprised when he heard a foreign sound, laughter. But it wasn't just laughter, it was Silas's laughter. The umbreon had come to learn that smiles on the vaporeon's lips were rare, and laughter just never happened, but there it was. He stared at his companion in pure unbridled confusion, he hadn't said anything that he thought was funny but still light laughs continued to come from the other. It oddly made the umbreon feel warm, a small smile spreading over his own lips as he watched the odd sight. He was unsure of what he should do or say now, he didn't want to ruin whatever had brought joy to the vaporeon, but Silas soon broke the silence all on his own, requesting the trip to the Nile that he'd been promised before.
Dendera just gave a small nod in response, that bit of a smile still played on his lips as he started the car and drove back to the hotel. When they arrived, he parked the car and left the keys in it - so that the air conditioning could remain on and Silas wouldn't roast in the vehicle. He hurried up to their room, only grabbing the swim trunks that he'd bought for Silas, and his own, along with some sun block (unsure if Silas would need it or not considering how pale that he was, but Dendera himself had no need for it). Once he'd retrieved these items he rushed back down, a fast walk to the car that waited. When he got into the vehicle, he passed the items over to the vaporeon, started the care back up and headed down towards the Nile river.
When they arrived there, he parked the car and then turned to his companion, "You can't swim here, you'll get sick," he reminded the vaporeon in a soft tone, the same thing he'd told him on the plane when they were on their way to Egypt in the first place. "We'll take a fellucca down the river. South of here the water is cleaner." After he had finished speaking, he got out of the vehicle, walking over to the passenger's side and opening the door, leaning against the frame so that he was within close proximity to Silas, as usually earned him the sight of some red cheeks and an upset attitude.
"I still can't believe that you yelled at the President." he said with a laugh and a very wide smile, hanging close to the vaporeon.

"He's a beautiful monster" "You're a knife, sharp and deadly" He was quiet on the way to the hotel, just staring out the passenger window in thought yet not really thinking of too much in particular, the occasional glance finding its way to the Umbreon. He wasn't really sure how to deal with being 'happy', there was no instruction manual on it, no book he could read that would help, no one to tell him what he wanted to know, so he resigned to just having to try and figure it out for himself, but at a later date. The Vaporeon was too exhausted from the sudden events to try and sort through and organize his feelings and thoughts, and instead just let them do as they would for once, not willing to really put up much of a fight against them.
His wait in the car wasn't long, but he was glad that the car had a working air conditioner. Without one he probably would've ended up having to go into the hotel to keep himself functional. As many things as he could tolerate, immense heat had never been one of them, and here he was in Egypt of all places, a desert. Silas's attention quickly returned to his companion, blinking a little at the items handed to him and only bothering to take a better look at them once they were driving again. 'Swim trunks?' he thought to himself, his expression slightly confused, 'come to think of it..I don't think I actually own any.' He stared at them for a moment, but his gaze returned to the passenger window soon after, watching the scenery change as it went by.
Silas looked back at the man as he spoke, only giving a short and brief nod in response to what was repeated to him from their flight to Egypt. He waited as Dendera did his usual routine of opening the door for him, eyes going a little wide as some of his usual defenses surfaced. But, he climbed out of the car, items in hand, giving the man a brief and stubborn look as that usual light blush rose to his cheeks again. Sure, he was getting used to the proximity, slowly, but that didn't mean it still didn't make him feel any less awkward, well, not as much so, but it was still obviously there. He rolled his eyes a little at the man's last words, not willing to let the image of the man he'd yelled at come back to his thoughts. "Just because he's someone as important as a president doesn't mean he can't be an a**," he replied, scrunching his nose briefly at the thought of the man.
He followed Dendera to where the...'fellucca' would be picking them up, following onto the smaller boat, almost falling on his face once or twice with the rocking of the water. But, he'd managed to stay on his feet with a couple small balancing acts, keeping the items in his arms and taking a seat. His eyes darted around, starting to get anxious for a completely different reason than he had earlier. He couldn't take it anymore after a few minutes, setting the items on the rounded and lengthy seat before moving over a little, turning Dendera around where he stood so that he was facing the boat driver, both blocking the man's eyes and his companion's. "Don't move, I'm changing," was all he said before quickly checking the boat driver's line of sight and looking out for any other tourists with a suspicious eye, quickly kicking off his boots and sliding off his pants and boxers in one go, snatching the swim trunks and pulling them on as fast as he could, pulling his socks off after.
The Vaporeon picked up his small pile of clothes and set them onto the seat, turning his companion around afterwards before taking a seat himself and reaching for the sunblock. He might have shivered at not wearing pants for a change if it wasn't so hot out, and might have avoided wearing sunblock at all if he wasn't so pale. But, he didn't want to make the rest of himself a matching red to his usual blush, and was eager to get in the water, which was the reason for his sudden changing on the boat. Silas opened the bottle and proceeded to smooth the cool liquid over his arms and legs, pulling his shirt off afterwards to cover his chest, neck, stomach and hips, though not without turning a noticeable shade of red. It wasn't until he'd gotten the lower half of his back did he run into a problem. 'I...can't reach..' he thought to himself, almost letting out a slightly annoyed sigh, glancing at the Umbreon almost unwillingly. He turned around after a moment, holding back the sunblock bottle with a hand. "...Only my back," he said half mumbled, stubbornly, eyes glancing off to the side.

Just like a crow chasing the butterfly Dandelions lost in the summer sky x x x Dendera's attention stayed mostly on his companion, catching sight of that familiar blush before the left the car to find a fellucca to take them down the river. The boat's owner spoke in Arbic to the obviously Egyptian umbreon, telling him the price and after Dendera had paid the man for the trip, the were able to board the fellucca and start off towards the cleaner part of the Nile - where tourists could take a swim. It wasn't long after the boat had started to move that he was suddenly positioned, looking away from the vaporeon - commanded not to move. He gave a warm bit of laughter and being bossed around by the shorter male, but obeyed the request nonetheless, for two reasons. For one, he didn't feel the need to twist Silas's panties into a knot, at least not right now. And for two, he was sure that he would end up assault charges if he were to catch anyone looking at the vaporeon's body. The latter was a foreign feeling for the umbreon, he never really got jealous over anyone and very rarely felt so protective over someone but he was coming to learn that Silas was able to get a lot more out of him than anyone before, and he was fine with that.
It didn't take more than a moment or two before he was turned back to facing his companion, and some part of him was actually surprised that Silas hadn't tried to keep the shirt on! The boy was usually flustered with showing any little bit of skin, and now Dendera could see a good majority of it. It was nice that the vaporeon was becoming more comfortable around him, which reminded him that the other hadn't even put up an argument at his request to sleep with him the night before. And the umbreon had even been shirtless at the time! The darker male was certainly chipping away at those walls that Silas tried so hard to keep up.
"Mhmm~" he agreed, as he heard the request - more like command - and took the offered bottle of sun block. Apparently the vaporeon had already applied the protection everywhere else, and demanded that Dendera only apply it to his back. The umbreon was certain that this was due to the fact that Silas turned beet red whenever he was touched by him. So he was only supposed to touch his back, that didn't quite stop him from making a brief attempt to fluster his companion, leaning forward to leave so soft kiss on Silas's shoulder blade before he put the sunblock into his hand to apply it. Before the vaporeon made any argument, which Dendera was sure was inevitable, he put his hands together, getting the bit of sunblock onto both of his hands, and then began to gently rub over the other's upper back - in the places that he couldn't comfortably reach himself.
As he did such, he leaned towards Silas's ear for a moment, speaking in a hushed voice, "I would let you do mine but I'm pretty sure I won't burn." and then he was finished. And before the vaporeon could get up, he made one last action to set those cheeks on fire, sliding his hands over the other's sides to wrap his arms around his stomach. "So what do you think of Egypt? Well, aside from it's President." he asked with a grin slipping onto his lips, leaning close enough now that Silas could turn to see the grin that he wore.

"He's a beautiful monster" "You're a knife, sharp and deadly" He was expecting the hands, after all, he invited it onto himself, but he hadn't been expecting the lips on his shoulder blade, and his body went a little more stiff than he had intended, taken by surprise. His eyes widened just slightly but stayed focused on something in the distance, even the sound of the water as it splashed up against the boat, but it wasn't helping him much. The Vaporeon was about to turn around and yell at the man, as he usually did, but before he could that cold liquid was being rubbed on his back, a shiver running down his spine at the temperature difference.
Just as he was expecting the small 'request' to come to an end without much more to it, which he should have expected instead would not happen as he planned it, he felt breath on his ear and heard the man's words, his blush deepening just a bit further. "Yeah I'm sure," was all he could think of to say in response, his thoughts starting to swirl in his head. But, just when he thought that would be the end of it, and this too he should have known better, he felt warm arms against his sides and around his stomach, his face finally reaching it's occasional tomato red shade. Silas's body went rigid and one of his hands shot over as he leaned forward in an attempt to escape, gripping the side of the boat as an automatic reflex, feeling the need to grip something to keep himself grounded.
"It's-.." he tried, attempting to make his mind function properly and avoid looking at his companion's face, though he could see a hint of that usual grin in his peripheral vision, making his face redder, '..hot? Bright? ..somehow that sounds just like him,' he thought to himself. "Dendera-! I can't think when you do that-" he started again, trying to use some of the state of mind he usually had, when he wasn't so emotionally exhausted, but when he half turned to yell at the man his face got too close and he quickly turned back to face forward. "s**t-! I'm stuck! Damn it," he thought again, reaching up with his free hand to set his palm just under Dendera's chin, pushing up almost immediately to tilt his head back and try to get him to let go. "I can't think-!" he let out again, struggling a bit to get out of the man's grasp.
When he finally did get out of the Umbreon's grip, he half crawled, half scooted away a little on the long seat, glancing at the man then glancing away, repeating the action a few times. "...It's hot, and bright," he finally tried to answer after his thoughts had started to slow down, fingers pressed slightly into the seat cushion, "..but it's..it's not so bad." He finished, glancing at his companion one more time before his eyes found their way to the boat driver, who was giving them both a strange look. Silas snapped out of his strange mood just enough to give the man a glare, before glancing back off to catch the sight of a river side coming into view, as well as a few other boats and something that looked akin to a village out of one of his college text books.

Just like a crow chasing the butterfly Dandelions lost in the summer sky x x x Dendera had expected the vaporeon to turn into a lobster, and he'd expected him to become rigid and push him off. In fact, it all brought a laugh out of him as the vaporeon reacted as usual. If he was was to be honest, his mind was still spending moments tracing back over the details of the funeral that they'd just been to. But it was nice that nothing had change, just Silas's reaction regardless of the fact that it wasn't a pleased reaction, told him that everything was okay. It told him that he would be alright, that he'd made the right choice, because he couldn't just leave this behind anymore than he could leave behind his home in the States.
"I know you can't." he admitted with a pleased smile, as he allowed the man to wriggle free of his grip. He'd realized a few things from his time with Silas and from watching his reactions in that time. The vaporeon acted nervous whenever he was close or touching him, he often blushed over the simplest compliments, he got violent when his space was invaded too much, for some reason there were times that he couldn't look into Dendera's eyes, and recently he'd learned that Silas was defensive over him.
Once his companion had settled back into his own seat and had answered his question, the umbreon's eyes trailed away, to the water, to the sands, to the city that he would be leaving behind once more very soon. "I really love it." he said softly, a faint reminiscent smile on his lips now. But soon he noticed Silas shooting a glare to the man that was transporting them down river, that was when he was reminded of something that he hadn't informed the vaporeon of. And so, he seated himself directly beside of the shorter male, leaning closely and speaking in a hushed voice that wouldn't be heard by anyone else. "He was staring because the way I was acting. Homosexuality here isn't an open..or generally permitted thing." It made him feel somewhat ashamed of his country to have to tell his companion of how close-minded they were compared to America, but it was the truth and probably something that he should have told him sooner. His statement also happened to imply that he understood what his actions suggested but he did them anyway, but Dendera wasn't paying much attention to that implication.

"He's a beautiful monster" "You're a knife, sharp and deadly" His eyes had glanced over at the man at some point, taking note of his softer tone before he'd started glaring at the boat driver. He almost jumped again when he found the Umbreon suddenly right next to him, caught off guard yet again. Today just wasn't his day, didn't seem to be either of their's for that matter. When he heard what his companion had to say, he was surprised, again, his expression showing hints of it before his eyes darted back to the boat driver briefly, soon finding their way to where his feet were placed on the warm floor of the transportation.
Silas, if he were to be honest, had never been in any close relationships before, none like the one he had with Dendera. Almost everything was new to him, and he'd never stopped to really think about it before, never had a reason to before. The whole time he'd just been acting purely on feeling or instinct, around the man anyway, since his thinking through everything never seemed to get him very far. "I hadn't..thought of it before," he mumbled to himself, thinking aloud briefly for a change. He pulled one of his feet up to rest on the edge of the seat, pulling his knee to his chest before resting his chin on top of it, crossing his arms around it loosely as his eyes stared at the floor in thought. 'It's not so strange, is it? Being with someone, being with..' he trailed off, his expression turning a little confused, '..another guy? I'm with a guy, or.. are we actually together? I've never been with someone so I don't know..'
The Vaporeon kept thinking quietly to himself, though it was only making his head spin again. Questions upon questions yet finding no answers within his own head. He didn't know what to make of it, if he should make anything of it. Really, he didn't have a problem with genders, he didn't think..Sure, it was pretty 'normal' to be with a girl, but he'd never had feelings for anyone before he'd met Dendera, he didn't have a clue how he should think of anything. Should he think anything of it? That's what confused him. Were there rules he wasn't aware of? Practices? Relationships were as foreign to him as everything the Umbreon had done to him when they first met, and everything he'd gradually done in return, maybe even as foreign as Arabic. He could see it, hear it, but could he understand it? Make sense of it? Not in the slightest.

The strongest among you May not wear a crown x x x When Dendera heard his companion speaking to himself in a confused manner it brought to his attention the fact that his own statement had implied something that he hadn't meant to imply. "I don't mean to say that we're.." he paused unsure of what he was even planning on saying in the first place, "..that we're..uh." he repeated, as though somehow saying it again would make him finish the sentence. '..with each-other..dating..together' his mind supplied, finishing the sentence three times over but still it didn't leave his mouth. "Like...that..um" he tried again to finish, using very vague terms, biting down on his lip for a moment before continuing - sure that Silas would know what he meant regardless, "Just that I..I guess it looks that way..sometimes."
The umbreon's eyes were now downcast as he thought over his horrible choice of words and then realized that he'd just implied something again, that he didn't want to imply. He felt completely flustered and regretted bringing it up, it was like he'd been transported back into childhood when if a guy had a crush he stumbled around the subject like it was a field of landmines. But Dendera had never been that boy, only seen it and thought that it was foolish - but now here he was stumbling over his own sentences over a guy that he could be comfortable with in just about any other conversation.
"Not to say that I don't want..that, just.." he began to notice that his hands had started to move to attempt to assist his words as he tried, and failed to explain himself, "Unless that's what you want..?" it was an implied question in the way that he spoke the last sentence - all of the sentences having been broken and missing words that would have aided in understanding them. By this point he was embarrassed of himself for acting like such a mess over a topic that he didn't think should send him for such a loop. He couldn't help but to laugh at himself, a soft short bit of laughter as he ran a hand over his face for a moment before looking to the river to avoid looking at the vaporeon. But as his eyes trailed along the nubian homes that lined the river as they came closer to the south of it, they soon found their way to that mass of blue hair and then within moments he was caught, staring into pretty blue eyes that he'd tried to avoid.

"He's a beautiful monster" "You're a knife, sharp and deadly" He glanced over at the man again as he started to speak, or tried to, pulled out of his swirling thoughts. At first, though he couldn't understand it, he felt that small, painful twinge in his chest, but tried to keep it from his face, just watching as the Umbreon attempted to voice whatever thoughts he seemed to have, ones that he was trying to put together as they came out in broken sentences. His expression turned a little confused at one point, before the man finished speaking and his suspicions came true at the last word, now looking a little surprised, for a variety of reasons. It wasn't like he hadn't seen or heard similar things, it was just that..well, he didn't think he'd be hearing them directed at himself, or that he'd even be sitting there trying to think about it. His cheeks lit up a light shade of red, eyes glancing off to the side when Dendera's did the same, his expression turned a little frustrated when he heard the laugh. 'How can he laugh at something I'm taking so seriously? I am taking it seriously? Wait, I'm actually thinking about it?' he thought to himself, looking a little confused once more.
Silas looked back to the man, but almost regretted it, getting caught up in red eyes again, which seemed to be becoming a somewhat common occurrence. "I.." he tried after a moment, the words getting stuck, '..'I' what? 'I do'? 'I want to'? It's..not that I..don't want to..it's just..I don't know how things will change if I say I do want to..But..then what is this now?' he thought to himself, still staring into the familiar red eyes. He parted his mouth after a moment to speak, but just as he did the boat came to a stop and the boat driver announced in vaguely recognizable English that they had arrived, most likely the only thing he said to tourists.
Silas's eyes widened just slightly, taken by surprise again at the sudden announcement, but closed his mouth after a moment, glancing off to the side. Honestly, he didn't know what he was going to say if there hadn't been an interruption, maybe nothing at all. Nothing came to mind and he couldn't find the voice for his thoughts, as strange as some of them seemed to him. They felt important, the question he'd been asked felt important, and he knew they were, but he currently didn't have any answers he could give. Instead, he set his foot back onto the ground and gathered his things, standing up from his spot on the seat and getting off of the boat barefooted, sending one last glare at the boat driver as he did so, though his mind was elsewhere. The Vaporeon kept his eyes on everything but his companion, his thoughts conflicted, concerned, and a confusing pressure weighing down on his chest.

The strongest among you May not wear a crown x x x Dendera head the start of a sentence, still unsure of what was to follow. In some small way, he understood that Silas felt for him the same way that he felt for the vaporeon, but he was still unsure of himself and he was actually nervous. It was becoming a recurring event around Silas, this nervous, embarrassed, fumbling over words thing - making him act like a different person from who he was used to being. Fearless, strong, fast, caring but detached - these were all words that the people that knew him understood to fit him perfectly. He never got nervous around people, because he never cared what they thought or did. The only extent that he was ever used to caring about people was to care about their well-being as people, to care about their general safety, their thoughts and feelings were things that Dendera just could never be bothered with. He'd never had a desire to be close to people and never felt the attachment that most people did. Even with Amasis, he respected and loved the man but never in a natural father/son way, it was always this care with distance because loving responses had never really clicked for the umbreon.
The fellucca had stopped and whatever it was that Silas was trying to say, he apparently felt that he'd avoided it because now he gathered his things and stepped off of the boat in silence. And normally, Dendera would just let him get away with that but for some reason, he was still waiting on that response. He gathered his things and paid the man in Egyptian pounds as they left him there - in Arabic it was agreed that he would be in the Nubian village when they were ready to go back. After which he grabbed hold of a pale wrist that was becoming very familiar and led the vaporeon to the river's bank - a lovely scene of nature that appeared untouched by man but the humble homes were nearby with dark skinned Egyptian children running around and playing - all of it reminding the umbreon of his past.
Finally he turned the vaporeon to face the children, much like Silas had done to him when they were on the fellucca. "You can watch if you really want to I just didn't want the kids watching~" he said with the hint of a grin threaten to tug up his lips, it was a bit of a tease but he at least meant it. He didn't care too much if Silas saw his body, in fact part of him wanted him to but it was layered down with this mild nervousness that the umbreon couldn't explain of understand. He pulled off his shirt and then his pants and underwear in a swift tug before putting on the dark swim trunks. After pulling the string to tighten them he informed Silas, "Done." he said as he turned away from the vaporeon, taking a few steps into the nearby Nile river. It was cool and even the scent of it was filled with nostalgia for the umbreon, and brought a small warm smile to his face. The warmth on his bare chest from the sun of the desert and the cool water that now licked as his feet, it all felt so welcoming to him.
When he turned to look at that mass of blue hair again he spoke softly, "You don't have to..." he said with a pause, knowing what he wanted to say but unsure if he should or not. But he'd already began, so he convinced himself that was reason enough to continue, "I just...like the idea of never having to worry about sharing you." he wasn't sure how that would sound to Silas, but he'd said it with only the best intentions, and now his eyes cam back to the water that was at his ankles as he pondered their relationship - whatever it was - and what the vaporeon had come to mean to him.

"He's a beautiful monster" "You're a knife, sharp and deadly" He was pulled out of his thoughts, yet again, when the grip came to his wrist, balancing his things in his free arm for a moment as he was lead to the river bank. All of it was foreign to him, the homes, the Egyptian children, the fellucca, their surroundings, everything but Dendera, the sand, and most of all the water. He just about dropped his things to make a run for that water before he was suddenly turned around, now facing children as he heard the man speak in a familiar and taunting tone. Silas glared a bit, unintentionally aiming it at the children before his eyes darted to the side. It wasn't like he had a comment to make, his thoughts were still wrapped up in themselves, though that didn't stop his body from reacting as it usually did. His cheeks lit up a shade of red once more, and he stood where he had been stopped and faced, stiffly so as he waited.
Silas's eyes followed the man as he headed over to the water, glancing to the side after a moment as his blush got a little worse. He was about to drop his things next to Dendera's when he heard him speaking again, stopping in his motions at what he heard. His eyes went a little wide before focusing on the things in his arms, not really seeing them and trying not to look at the man, his blush only getting deeper when he finally glanced at his companion briefly. His mind had gone blank again, his worries and concerns pushed to the edges of his thoughts. They were still there, but now he felt like he understood what he'd been asked a little better. It had confused him, having to think about something he never would have guessed he'd have to think about, but hearing it put so simply had made understanding it easier, as well as finding his answer.
The Vaporeon closed his eyes for a moment, half turned away from his companion, taking a breath to calm his nerves before he finally dropped his things next to Dendera's. "..I don't like it either," he finally said, only loud enough for the Umbreon to hear, "..Same with the idea of you leaving, or seeing that stupid look on your face. Maybe that's why I yelled at the president." he admitted, trying to avoid looking at the man the whole time. "Like I'd get that close to anyone else," he finally added in, walking a little slowly up the towards the houses after a moment, idly aware of the warm sand slipping between his toes. The hill was a little steep, but that only put the faintest of smiles on his face for what he had planned, though kept his back to the man.
Once he'd reached the top of a small hill, he turned around, just standing there and staring down at the water's edge, glancing at the Umbreon briefly. Then, he ran, surprisingly faster than he expected since he hadn't been as active as he once was. He kept his balance well enough, his feet shifting slightly and kicking up some sand behind himself as he ran down the hill and to the river's edge, jumping once he'd reached it to clear as much distance as he could before leaping, bringing his arms up above his head into a diving form, diving straight into the cool water, pale skin disappearing below the surface. Silas hadn't felt it in such a long time, the almost instant transition between heat on his skin to cool water sliding over it, the weightlessness and loss of gravity, of himself, eyes open yet only seeing rocks, the color of water, sand, the occasional small fish that darted off at the faintest hint of something larger coming its way, the escape and peace the water gave him.
The Vaporeon spun once after swimming out a little further and diving deeper down to the bottom, turning to look up at the view of the sun's light bouncing off of gently moving and small waves, almost blinded by it. He swam up to it after a moment, only releasing his breath once his whole head had broken the surface, kicking his legs and moving his arms to stay afloat before looking back to the beach, most of his hair a wet mess and draped against and over some of his face.

The strongest among you May not wear a crown x x x Dendera watched as his companions cheeks lit up, the tint of red taking over his features as it so often did around the umbreon. He was still worried about how Silas would take the words that he'd said, he hoped that he would understand what he'd meant at the very least. Soon, those deep blue eyes were shut off from him, the shorter male turning a bit away as he spoke. He was surprised at Silas's words, still finding it hard to believe when the vaporeon was gentle and honest rather than lashing out, and he thought that he'd been struck speechless by it but before he knew it, words began to come from his lips. "I'm yours." he said with a bit of a smile as he turned to face the water, his face felt warm but he was certain that it wasn't enough to show through his dark skin - but still he felt the need to turn away. "I always have been." he admitted, knowing that Silas had caught his attention from the very first night they'd spoken. Somehow the vaporeon had just captured his interest, and never lost it.
Just as he finished speaking, splash broke into his view and Silas had disappeared beneath the waters of the Nile. Within a few moments though, he'd come up for air, his wet hair hung down in his face. A wide grin spread across his lips, seeing Silas genuinely excited about something for what seemed like the first time. Something in him wanted to proclaim again, as he'd done on many occasions, just how adorable the vaporeon could be. But he contained this urge, instead finishing his own descent into the cool water which was such a fine switch from the heat of Egypt, though he was accustomed to the warm weather. He didn't dive in, just walking in until his feet could no longer touch the ground, watching as his long black hair fanned out around him, flowing with the water.
Once he had pushed his hair aside, and out of his face, he waded through the water towards that certain familiar face, and some little bit of his somewhat confident, teasing demeanor began to return to him. "And you're mine." he said with a grin, "Whether you know it or not." he offered his feigned confidence though a part of him was really wondering if he was right. He felt like he was, Silas acted like he was sometimes, but it was something that hadn't settled in his head as a fact yet. Pulling himself from his thoughts, he realized that saying that would probably invoke the vaporeon's usual wrath so he decided it couldn't hurt to push him a little more. He ducked beneath the water, becoming barely if at all visible from the mess of his own hair, and then reached up with dark hands sliding up a pale torso and coming to rest on the vaporeon's shoulders before dragging him beneath the water. Then, he mashed his lips against Silas's only for a few moments awkwardly because of being underwater. And immediately after, he pushed himself back - an attempt to dodge what he thought would be an inevitable attack for the assault he'd just committed.

"He's a beautiful monster" "You're a knife, sharp and deadly" Silas heard it, briefly, before he took off into the water, so the man's next words didn't surprise him too much, or maybe they did. Part of him couldn't really bring itself to disagree, another part was trying to figure out what that meant exactly. But, before he could even begin to try and start figuring all of that out, his companion disappeared under the water, just as his blush was about to get worse. Soon enough, he felt the hands on his torso, then his shoulders, his face finally turning that tomato red after he was pulled under the water with a small gasp of surprise, then felt lips mash awkwardly against his own. It look a little longer than usual, though he wasn't sure if that was because he was just exhausted today or if it was because he liked it, an almost unfathomable thought, but finally his eyes shot open wide, the red tone of his skin almost clearly visible among all of the colors in the water. He raised a hand to try and swat at the man, but Dendera had gotten used to that reaction and evaded it just in time.
The Vaporeon swam back over after a moment, grabbing some of the floating black hair in a hand to pull on it while giving the man a glare. Before he noticed it though, his hand was stuck holding it like it had been in the hotel room, and he couldn't find it in him to let it go. It was strange, something he felt pushing on his chest that he couldn't give words to, even if they had been above water. His eyes lowered to stare at it for a moment, as if looking at the action would tell him what it was, what it meant, why he was doing it, what it was making him feel, but he didn't get anything of the sort but more strange emotions, ones he'd felt off and on but still couldn't really understand. He didn't move too much for a bit, eyes now looking back into red ones. If he hadn't been in the shape he was he probably would've had a difficult time staying under the water for that long.
It was happening again, his brief outburst was calmed, his glare had retreated, whatever intentions he had of hitting the man faded, and all he could do was stare. Silas wasn't sure what he was looking for, or if he was even looking for anything. It was only after he'd put the two together did he realize it. The Umbreon's eyes were like the water, they calmed him and gave him some sort of peace he couldn't give words to, he got lost in them. It surprised him a little, coming to realize these things, mainly because he trusted the water. Water was something that he could remember as always being there, it couldn't run away from him, couldn't go to a place that he could not reach, couldn't hurt him with words or actions, couldn't betray what trust he put in it. '..Does that mean I trust him..?' he thought to himself, his expression turning a little confused.
Before he could get too further into any deep thought, his body started moving on its own, swimming closer, closer, until he was back right in front of the man, hair still held in a hand, his own floating and moving gently with the barely reaching movements of the waves on the surface. His hand moved up after a moment, shifting some of Dendera's bangs away from his face a little hesitantly, but eyes always staying on his companion's. There was a strange pressure in his chest, one that didn't hurt or pain him, but felt like it was going to burst, and before he really knew it himself, he moved forward a bit, pressing his own lips just as awkwardly against the man's. It only lasted a few moments, as the Umbreon's had, but as soon as he'd shifted back his face shot that tomato red again, eyes going a little wide before darting to the side at his own actions. He released his grip on the man's hair shortly afterwards, swimming back up to the surface and letting his face break the water to take a breath, for more than just needing air from holding it in.
"And it's me that you cut into" "But I don't mind"

The strongest among you May not wear a crown x x x Dendera was quite grateful that he was fairly good at holding his breath, because what had been started as one of his brief assaults on the vaporeon's personal space bubble had been turned into quite a long few moments underneath the water as Silas stared at him. The tug on his hair was expected, and he didn't even attempt to stop it, and in fact the water slowing the vaporeon's movements had dulled out whatever pain it might have caused above the water's surface. He held his gaze steadily on his companion, a slightly confused look on his face, still unsure of what it was that Silas saw when he looked at him like that. But no ideas came to him, his mind more distracted with holding his breath than by trying to solve the inner workings of the vaporeon.
Silas's defensive demeanor was soon gone, melted away into just that stare, the one that Dendera never could understand. But before too long of that, the vaporeon began to come closer, and the taller male expected a whack or something. He was surprised when those lips met his own again, letting his eyes slip closed for the brief moment that it happened, opening up afterward to see Silas's bright red face. When he saw the vaporeon making towards the air above, he realized he couldn't hold his breath any longer either, and followed shortly after, taking a deep breath of humid air as soon as he broke the waters surface.
After his breathing had settled, his red eyes had settled into place on his blushing companion. He could think of a teasing remark or two, definitely, but when he spoke it wasn't taunting or cocky, it was gentle and soft instead, "Why do you seem so afraid to admit that you want to kiss me?" he asked with sincere curiosity and concern written all over his face, "You know that you're not going to be rejected, and I'm not going to think any less of you.." he attempted to explain the reasons why it made no sense for Silas to be so reluctant when Dendera felt like he wasn't the only one that wanted to, "Unless I'm wrong and you don't want to." he raised his hands up from beneath the water to reach out for the vaporeon's face but stopped just short of it, retracting his hands as he bit his lip for a moment. "I'm not going to hurt you." he assured him though he knew he'd promised this before and he never knew if it made any difference or not to Silas, but he hoped that saying it enough might make it easier to believe, especially considering that he'd already shown he was willing to do just about anything for the vaporeon.

"He's a beautiful monster" "You're a knife, sharp and deadly" His skin tone was starting to return to its normal tone when the man finally spoke, drawing his glanced off eyes to his companion for a moment. He listened still, though his eyes had shifted to the side as they often did, expression turning from slightly confused to a little frustrated. 'How am I supposed to tell him that's not it. At least..I don't think that's it, is it? I already know he won't hurt me, don't I? Even though he nearly left..he didn't in the end..but..Augh-! That has nothing to do with this now,' he thought to himself, closing his eyes for a moment, his hair once again flat against and covering some of his face. "I just.." he started, opening his eyes again to glance at the man before darting to the side, focusing on small waves instead, "I've never really kissed anyone before you.. I've never..been..this close to anyone before.." he finally admitted, trailing off, his face lighting up again. But, before his companion could see his face redden any further, he ducked his head back under the water after taking a breath, giving a brief and small splash on the surface as he dove down, only stopping once he'd reached near the bottom.
'..Has he done this before?' he thought again after he'd turned around to look back up at the reflections of the sun, spotting the Umbreon, 'Or is this just how he is? I guess it wouldn't surprise me if it was both.' Silas gave a briefly unamused look before closing his eyes, only focusing on the way the water was moving to calm himself down again, letting his body float gently near the bottom of the river. He couldn't quite grasp being intimate with anyone, though he obviously had been, quite recently. His past still bothered him, as much as he pushed it from his mind, and growing used to being distant with just about everyone wasn't helping anything, which was when he recalled his 'mother', scrunching his nose briefly at the thought of her. He could remember a time when she always nagged at him, always made these small comments, some of which he could still remember, to his dismay. As untraditional as she was now, a good portion of her still was very traditional, and that was the side Silas could remember. She always commented on the people living in the states after they'd moved from Japan, always surprised or disgusted at some of what she saw and disagreed with, mainly how open people were with one another in ways she had never thought could be allowed, especially in public. As distant as he was from his 'parents' now, memories were always there, whether he liked them or not. He'd thrown most of her traditions away, but old habits died hard, and weren't helping him with the case named Dendera.
'..Wait,' he thought to himself, eyes snapping open and looking at the Umbreon once more, '..I actually want to kiss him? I have a couple times but..I..' he trailed off, his blush returning as his expression turned a little confused. 'I wanted to come here to clear my mind, not make it worse-!' he thought again, holding his hands over his mouth to keep the air in, not wanting to return to the surface just yet. 'Damn him,' he finished, sending a stubborn glare at his companion before finally giving in to his body's demands and returning to the water's surface, taking in another breath. After he'd calmed his breathing down again, he sent that stubborn glare to the man, "..You've made me such a mess," he half mumbled, glancing to the side. His eyes softened a little after a moment, but stayed focused on the small waves, "But..I guess it's..not so bad," he finished, half speaking to Dendera and half speaking to himself, repeating words he'd said before, ducking back under the water afterwards.

The strongest among you May not wear a crown x x x Dendera watched as those blue eyes darted away from him again, so often trying to avoid his gaze and whatever it was that Silas saw in it. He let his expression soften, a very small smile coming over his lips, he'd realized that he'd taken the conversation into a much more serious place and letting his serious expression slip away for now was his way of trying to make it easier to talk about. Though it seemed, anything about their odd relationship was difficult for the vaporeon to talk about. As he listened, he let himself sink just enough for his lips to barely graze the water, keeping his eyes on his companion.
As soon as he caught a glimpse of those bright red cheeks though, the vaporeon disappeared into the river, taking away the umbreon's chance at responding. He had the urge to drag Silas back up above the water, but he killed that urge, knowing that sometimes the vaporeon just needed to sort his head, and that he would have to come up for air eventually. He just waited, his eyes following the light waves that flowed along the river, tracing the path down it that led deeper into the less city like parts of Egypt. Before he knew it, a head full of wet blue hair came into his vision and soon after he found himself gazing at an all too familiar glare.
He heard the vaporeon's words and offered a small half smile in response, unsure of what he could say to that. He knew that somehow he always affected Silas greatly, he also knew that for some reason the vaporeon wasn't stopping him. But while Silas had been beneath the water, he'd thought about what he wanted to say in response to the shorter males earlier statements, before he'd ducked underwater. He reached out to grab hold of Silas's shoulders, gently but firmly preventing any possible attempt to lash out for the action. He pulled him close but didn't embrace him, his dark face hung close to the vaporeon's ear, not bothering to move the mass of hair away from it. "I don't want you to be again." his brow knit as he let his words wash over him, he knew what the feeling was but he was sure he'd not felt it before - not about any person at least, only his hand guns, "Not anyone else." he continued, letting his head tilt to press the side of his face against Silas's, lips still hanging close to his ear. "Let me be the first and last." he requested softly, knowing the name for what he was feeling. Possessive. He wanted Silas, he didn't want to share the feelings that the vaporeon had for him, he realized that he didn't even like to think about it.
