Donovan had spent a lot of time in the garage that day. He was getting tired, and decided to call it a night. He came into the house only to hear crying children. Oh boy.. The man walked into the room to see the pair sobbing while a movie played. "What's wrong, guys?" He asked, kneeling down beside the pair, trying to sound as soft as he could. They were kids, how bad could it be? Someone drop their drink?
Vance's lip shivered, trying to be a brave boy. "D-do bugs have families?" Vance asked, holding his voice level as best he could. Donovan was a bit confused. Why was he asking this? "No. They don't. They just reproduce with all the other bugs, trying to infest as much as they can." He said calmly. Bugs were a nuisance as far as he was concerned. "Then.. they don't have mommies and daddies and babies?" Donovan figured the kid meant a functioning family like people did, as he turned to look at the screen. He smirked a bit, shaking his head.
"Not really. They have thousands of babies, and leave them on their own."

Bug was too busy sniffling in Vance's shirt to notice Donovan come in but did perk up to hear his first response to Vance. trying to infest? As much as they can? That she didn't get but Vance cleared it up with his next question to which she shook her head hoping he'd say no...
That wasn't the answer she wanted to hear. Bug's heart sank, it shattered into a million pieces. Her eyes got more wide, more than they had ever been before and she griped onto Vance tightly.
"T.... thousands?" she hadn't gotten a good grasp on numbers but thousands was a lot more than she could count and that couldn't be good. She had eaten mommies of thousands, and the reason why they were left alone was because SHE ATE THEM.
Bug went back to her crying and clinged onto Vance tightly.

Crap. Donovan was losing control of the tykes. Vance seemed distraught, mostly for Bug.
"Not.. what I meant.." Donovan scratched his cheek, thinking as fast as he could. He needed to get this issue under control. "Babies from bugs are different from regular babies.." He started off, sitting down with them fully. kneeling was making him sore. "The bugs that are born take care of themselves, and then they try and find other bugs almost immediately to make more babies. They aren't trying to have happy families, they're trying to.. take over the world.." Donovan said in a low voice. "Thing is Bug.. these bugs are actually pretty evil. They want all the food for themselves. Selfish, huh? They don't want to share."
He shook his head and patted the girl's head softly. "You and Vance? You guys are heroes. not many people have the power to eat bugs."

Bug's wings twitched under the shirt when Donovan changed his voice. Looking up at him doe eyed she gaped her mouth he had her enthralled in his lie now. The child nodded with a gulp. She couldn't quite connect how taking over the world had to do with not sharing food, but if that's how they were doing, Bug would always share so others wouldn't try to eat her thinking she was going to take over the world.
Forced down by his grown-up head she bounced it back up with a sniffle. "B...but..." was going to think of a retort, but stop because she had remembered how the men in the park would occasionally spray the plants to get rid of bugs. they really were ever where, doing ... evil things.
Bug lowered her head and shook it with another sniffle. "Bugs should just share."

Donovan smiled a bit. He seemed to be defusing the situation at least. "They should. Maybe you could talk them out of it? But they tend to ignore you when you talk. Pretty mean, huh?" Vance seemed fine now, and simply held Bug in a hug, since she was still pretty stuck to him. "It's okay Bug. Don't cry." he said in as comforting a tone as a kid could get.
"We can watch a different movie!" Would movies even help at this point? "That or sleep. It's getting late kiddos. One more movie then bed time, alright?" He ruffled the kids hair and stood up. "Don't worry too much Bug. You're a good girl." Little did the man know the kid was a thief.

"O... okay" bashfully saying with a small amount of orange tinge on her face. She was being silly, and she even cried in front of Vance, so embarrassing.
Bug nodded with agreement to a different movie, one maybe that had no relation to her life. The she tilted her head and cocked and eyebrow at Donovan. "Getting late? Bedtime?" Two things that just weren't in Bug's vocabulary. Needless to say, she smiled at his comment, yay he liked her.
After Vance's dad left them to their own devices Bug had to know.
"Vance, what's bedtime?" She whispered as she let go of him.

Vance thought Bug was asking a very strange question. He didn't hide his perplexed reaction too well either. "The time when you go to bed?" He knew this as pure pact. There was a time in the day one must go to bed. Didn't everyone do that?
Regardless, bedtime was not at that moment. There was a movie to be watched. Vance took out the bug movie and looked through the shelf for another one. He was a bit hesitant about choosing one at this point.
Finally, he found one he hoped Bug would like. "Alladin! It's about a thief and a genie." At this point, Vance didn't realize Bug was a bit of a pickpocket. His choice was purely coincidence. Vance popped in the movie and sat back down with Bug, taking a handful of chips to snack on.

The girl's face dropped a bit, their conversation was turning into a circle, she'd just have to wait to find out. "Okay."
Bug Watched as Vance scoured over the movies, she never realized until then that Vance could understand all of what he looking at. It was quite impressive to an illiterate.
Aladdin...
"Oh! I know that story! The lady at the library read it to me." Its how she found out about wish granting and came to the decision that Ryuusei was some sort of Jinni rather than a snake creature. It made far more sense than him being a dragon, yup.
Bug settled with Vance beside her as he munched away. The movie was really thrilling, some parts a little scary covering her eyes when ever something bad was 'gonna' happen to the characters. As the movie drifted closer to the end the child's eyelids became heavy until she slumped into Vance's side passing out completely.

Vance knew the movie pretty well, and giggled whenever Bug seemed top be curling into herself during the more intense scenes. He helpfully told her when it was safe to look, and warn her when the action might be too scary. Any chance to look brave, Vance took it, being the little show off he was.
The ending got close, and Vance was now really starting to feel the wear of the day. He too drifted off, leaning on Bug as she was to him.
It was about a half hour after the movie had ended that Donovan came to check on the kids. He smirked a bit at the site, finding it rather endearing. He grabbed a blanket and pillows from Vance's room, setting them down on the kids. He gently laid them down into more comfortable positions on the floor and started to clean up after them before heading to bed himself.
