Shayna nodded to Taka "Yup. She gave me my first stuffed animal. And Blood and her might get a baby from that.... baby place... I don't remember what its called.... the GMFC? That sounds about right." Shayna smiled. "That means I might get a baby sister or brother!" She looked over to the ice cream shop and back to Taka. "So anywho..." Shayna nodded her head towards the ice cream shop. "You wanna go get some with me?"

"Oooh! You must know her real well then," Taka commented brightly. She didn't know what the GMFC was; but she also wasn't old enough to question how two women would have a baby.
Her eyes lit up when Shayna mentioned icecream though. "YES!" she giggled happily."Very much. Sari, can I have some money?"
Absently, Sarielle fished a five out of her pocket and handed it to Taka. In some small corner of her mind, it registered that Shayna, though a bit younger than Taka, was the dominant personality between the two of them; but she would think of that later. Now she still stared with an odd sort of fascination at the black-winged demon.
His aura intrigued her; she had known one other like that, somewhere, sometime...no, it was gone again.
Realizing that she stared, Sarielle tore her eyes away lest for the second time that day someone mistakenly assumed she was flirting. On second thought, perhaps it would at least put Owle at ease, she thought with the barest hint of an ironic smile.

Elf saw the smile appear on Alexei's face, "Mikey! I think he likes it!" she winked again at the boy and then turned her attention to the other conversation, at which she was totally lost but was interested in watching the girls talk about plushies.
She started to shift from foot to foot, trying to look like she might actually below. Elf chewed carefully on the inside of her mouth as she listened.

"Yay!" Shayna grabbed Taka's hand and darted to the ice cream shop. At the counter she knew exactly what she wanted. "A single scoop cookie dough ice cream in a waffle cone please!!" Shayna smiled and watched as her cone was made. She payed for it, and moved out of the way for Taka.

"It's okay," Owle said, smiling as Alexei tried to hide. For the boy's sake, she took her eyes off him and focused on Azruael.
Competent flier? Owle suppressed a snicker. If he were so competent, why had he brought half the roof down with him?
Any other thoughts were completely driven from her head, though, as he unfolded one of his wings, letting the feathers catch the light. Owle's brown eyes shined as she stared at it, and she unthinkingly reached out a hand, stroking those feathers gently. "So pretty..."

((So are Blood and Ea a couple for this RP, I assume?))
Taka just had time to stuff "Bunnie" back into Sarielle's shopping bag before being happily hauled off by Shayna into the ice cream parlour. Shayna ordered first; Taka considered getting the same thing, it did sound awfully good. But...
"I'd like a scoop of the chocolate fudge please," she said politely. "In a waffle cone," she added as an afterthought, "with rainbow sprinkles on top." She stood with her nose pressed against the glass as the creamy, dark brown ice cream was packed onto a cone and handed to her. She lay the now-wadded five dollar bill on the counter, obviously a little awkward with handling money.
She emerged from the parlor to unsucessfully try to cram the change back into Sari's pocket with one hand, and hold her dripping cone in the other.
"For heaven's sake Taka," Sarielle said with exasperation plain in her voice, "just hand it to me."
"Kay." Solemnly the young Herald held up the crumpled bills for her guardian to take. Somehow she'd already managed to get chocolate smeared all around her mouth.

[ I suppose so :3 ]
Shayna laughed as she watched Taka strugle with the money and her cone. Shayna scanned the area before her eyes had landed on a small park with a bench and picnic table.
She walked over to Taka and Sari. "Hi Sari!" She smiled and turned to Taka. "You wanna go sit in the park?"

Alexei was busy being flustered upon the winged man's shoulder, having dropped the hair to lay messily about his lap. His eyes had long since lowered, his very pale cheeks turning a dusty pink. The child felt a bit strange being the center of attention and it was probably because he was so high up that he remained in their eyesight, whereas he would have hidden otherwise.
"My son?" Azruael repeated suddenly, turning to the woman who had finally spoken. His slender brows rose upwards and his golden eyes fell upon the feathered child as if to question him. Alexei was too busy concentrating upon everyone else with his tiny fists drawn up to his chin. The corner of the demon's lips quirked, and he looked back over at Sarielle, tail idly flicking.
"Yes and no," he answered vaguely, a cheshire cat-like smile spreading over his face. She looked bright enough, she could figure it out without his explanation; his smile became ever more joking.
Any other words he could have spoken, any barbs he may have uttered at Sarielle's expense flew from his mind at Owle's foreign touch. Like a surprised cat, he tensed and froze. Of all places it had to be his most sensitive spot, or spots seeing as he had two wings and both were equally susceptible to another's touch. His only weakness. Well, other than pretty women which he was apparently surrounded by.
He gathered the remnants of his voice and kicked himself mentally for having fallen prey to such a thing. "Ah...I - to others I suppose so." His teeth gnashed for but a moment before he tore his eyes away, trying to brush off the ghost-like feeling of her fingers in his feathers. Instead, he focused on the small child that had arrived and was currently trying to cram money into Sarielle's pockets.
He blinked and Alexei perked up, his pallid brows furrowing. Even he could not brush off the feeling of familiarity he felt towards the girl, and the one not too far away from her. The boy, for once, looked generally interested...
"...Alexei?"

Owle's hand recoiled as though she'd touched a hot stove. Stupid, stupid, stupid! she berated herself. She knew how sensitive wings were, having a pair herself...though she always got a pleasant sensation when others touched them, she never did feel quite comfortable with it. She hadn't thought...
That was right. She hadn't thought at all.
"But not to you?" she asked, turning her eyes away and seeking out the nearest wall so she could bang her head into it. That was so colossaly stupid that she deserved to have her head smashed into one for it.
"I...I'm sorry...I'm just...stupid." she stammered softly, turning red from shame. But he wasn't focused on her anymore...he was looking at the child. Owle breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe he'd forgive her for it...

As Shayna waited for an answer from Taka her gaze fell upon the small angel that everyone seemed to be watching. She knew instantly from the deep blue eyes, the white hair, and the ever familiar wings growing from it's back, that he MUST be just like her and Taka. But this one was different. It was a little boy.
Shayna smiled and waved to the young boy, wondering what his name was and if he would come down. Perhaps his name was Alexei. Shayna heard the name thrown about a few times, but had nowhere to place it, but the boy.

His narrow eyes flickered back towards Owle's face, the corner of his lips turning up into a smirk. Even if his rattled nerves were hard to regain, he might as well fake his ego, right? He took a deep breath and nodded, all joking mannerisms pushed aside.
"I assume physically my wings are a thing of beauty," he began, looking back as if to reassert himself. One moved forward and he ran a hand firmly down the edge of his wing, remembering when he had been so proud and vain of them... "But I've long since learned their true meaning, and to me, they have lost all glory in my eyes."
His voice grew soft, his brows furrowing deeply in thought; his hand unconcsiously tightened upon the fragile appendage, thumb burrowing viciously into the downy feathers. Were it not for her sudden apology, he most likely would have dealt himself more pain - physical, that is.
"Ah...no, no. Don't worry about it. Things that catch our attention often call for our touch." He nodded and nearly laughed. How true that was for a womanizer such as himself!
Alexei nearly leapt out of his skin as Shayna waved, his shoulders drawing upon towards his chin. He bowed his head and peered at her through his pale lashes, face tinting ever redder. But she had caught both his attention and curiosity, and he was left wondering how to get down from his keeper's shoulder.
Grabbing onto his shoulder, the boy swung his legs down and tried to find a perch to set his toes upon. Unfortunately, he found none. He hung there, dangling limply from Azruael's shoulder until the demon laughed and detached him, setting him on the ground.
His reaction was immediate. Alexei darted behind his leg and clutched onto his pants, peering out to stare at the other children curiously. Should he go up to them...?

Great. Now she'd made him all serious and probably dredged up a lot of bad memories in the process. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
Worse yet, his words just made her want to ask more about it and dredge up more bad memories. Dammit, curiousity! Can't you just....leave for a while? Owle thought desperately. She shouldn't ask, he obviously didn't want to talk about it, and it obviously brought a lot of bad thoughts to the forefront...oooh! That just made her want to know even more!
That did it. She couldn't hold it back any longer. She had to ask.
Just as Owle opened her mouth, though, he spoke again. His acceptance of her foolishness made her turn even redder. "Heh...yeah...." She felt like a little kid...she'd certainly acted like one...and that was probably what he saw when he looked at her, just some kid. Don't worry about it, I'm sure you didn't know any better and just couldn't help it, now I'm going to go back to my business while you run off and play.
Unbidden, a voice from her past ran through her mind. You're not a woman...you're a kid. A dangerous kid, but a kid nonetheless. You don't even understand basic human concepts.
Shut up, Morgan, Owle thought at the memory. You're wrong.
Even if what I did just proved you right...
"So...um...uh..." she started babbling. If she just stood here like a goon, turning red in the face, she'd never get any respect from him or anyone. If she wasn't going to be a little kid, she ought to stop acting like one. "Anyway...um...nice weather, huh?"

Taka had stood patiently waiting for Sarielle's permission to go to the park, assuming that her guardian had heard the exchange with Shayna. She continued to eat her icecream with large, languid licks , making it look even tastier than it already did. But since Sarielle hadn't spoken again, she turned her attention to the little boy Shayna was waving to.
He looked incredibly shy, and incredibly like she and Shayna had not so very long ago. She envied Shayna's ability to talk to anyone. Even when she did not feel awkward, Taka rarely had that much to say. Only with her "twin" did she chatter away comfortably.
But she DID feel a little sorry for the boy - Alexei, the man had called him. So she smiled as he awkwardly climbed down fo hide behind the man's legs, but wouldn't look at the man himself. He made her uncomfortable, somehow; like being watched in a public place but not knowing by whom.
Perhaps it was Sarielle's own unease that Taka subconciously picked up on.
How had he gotten the child? How? The thoughts whirled through Sarielle's mind. One like him should never have an angel in their care. And I don't like the way he watches me...or the girls.
Her brow was furrowed ever so slightly as she looked to Blood. Had she, too, noticed the calculating glances Azruael had cast on Taka and Shayna?
(( sweatdrop That was longer than I intended it to be. xp Sorry.))
