 Charles
Charles reappeared in the room only a few minutes after having left. With him he bore a look of frustration and a set of syringes and vials, each one primed and ready for their purpose. "For the time you've made me waste, little girl, I'm going to enjoy this thoroughly." A psychic edge protruded from his finger. No anesthesia, no cleaning of the selected area, no nothing. He wasn't particularly concerned about his "patient".
"Oh... Oh god..." The Audino fell back with a dull thud when he finally got close enough to inspect Lloyd. He had gone through basic medical training so blood wasn't really a problem, but a hole through a Weavile's chest was just plain gruesome. He was only ever here to check on Alfred... he had been worried that the alarm might've triggered a panic attack or something. But this was just far too much. "You there. Do me a favour before I kill you. Go collect the gibbering mess in the corner of the room. Oh, and drag that Weavile out with you. I can hear him dying, it's annoying." Huey turned to look at the Mew and was met with a terrifying sight. The Audino began to cry instantly; not in remorse, but in fear. Charles had cut the Toxicroak open and had systematically snapped or removed each of her ribs in order to get access to the organs behind. One of her lungs was already lying on the ground beside her. "Fascinating, isn't it? They can take so much pain before dying." He had, of course, been quite careful as to where and how he cut. The moment she died was the moment he risked losing precious information. Huey wasn't quite so curious. The Audino's hand shot to his mouth where he retched until finally a small puddle of vomit slipped through his fingers. The Audino stumbled past the mess, reassuring himself all the way that the Mew wouldn't hurt him no matter how horrifying it was. The moment he got to the mess that was Alfred he took the Gardevoir's hand by force and, if need-be, would start dragging him out of the room. He wasn't really a "doctor", but he still had a responsibility to his "patient". He stumbled out of the room and quickly put his hand on the Weavile's neck to check for a pulse. "Oh god... You're still alive?" He didn't know how or why the Weavile was still alive, but if he was alive something could be done. Lucy was a really good surgeon, right? With that thought his focus to steel his determination, he picked Lloyd up in a burst of strength he didn't know he even had. He carefully cradled the Weavile as if he were a princess, for it was the only way he could carry him. "We've got to go, come on."
~~~~~
Charles looked at the disassembled Toxicroak before him. It was a little disappointing, really. The organs he had taken out were all identical to the norm, and the ones he probed were entirely similar as well. Structurally, Rasputin was identical to other Toxicroak in every way, though she was remarkably healthy. Her organs and body showed no signs of wear or age. Well, he had taken plenty of samples of this and that. Just about every fluid in her body had been drawn in generous quantities so that they could be properly examined later. And, of course, her poison sac had been carefully removed. If the Arceus blood merely made her stronger, then it likely affected the poison therein. He took a brief look at the pendant that lay within the cavity that the poison sac had once rested. It was remarkable, really. How it kept her alive even as she was cut to pieces. Well... he could remove it in a moment. It wasn't like she could do anything. She no longer had any eyes and, quite early on, the Mew had been careful to destroy her inner ear. The result was that the Toxicroak could not see, hear or balance. It must be such a terrible sensation of vertigo.
    Atra && Melissa && Hope && Zero && Zosee He will wake soon. Until then, keep him safe and do not let him leave my touch.Zosee stopped in front of the door. She had come before in order to meet the old Leafeon when he was still alive, so she knew it was the right place. Which was a relief as the Flareon strapped to her back was awfully heavy, and it didn't help that the Jirachi was clinging to his fur. They were finally back. It had taken two months of searching, of scouring the wilds and asking all manners of Pokemon, but they had finally found Hope and the the two Pokemon she had taken with her in a sheltered cove in the eastern forests. They would have walked right by the well-concealed hiding place if Morana had not taken pains to mark their presence in the nearby forests. Those of Team Polaris had gone back to their own room with the returned Houndoom. The rest of them were bringing Atra back to his family. The Flareon wouldn't wake, but a voice that was presumably the Jirachi's assured them that Atra would in under a week. He had sustained grievous injuries during the fight against Ivan, and Hope had spent all summer sustaining his life and slowly healing him. One of Melissa's vines came up against the door and gave it a solid tap.
 Minerva
Minerva's head rose as she looked forward at the door. She blinked a few times to wipe the weariness from her face. Her eyes had been resting half-shut, though any signs of the fact were erased quickly. "Come in. It's not locked." She didn't even need to ask who it was. If they got past the guards they were either fine or strong enough that running wouldn't matter anyways. God, she needed a nap. Things had been peaceful lately, almost unbelievably so. Since the last attack they had even had time to host a social gathering and another one was just on the horizon. Well, "social" wasn't the best way to describe it but... All the same, sleep seemed hard to come by. Maybe whoever was on the other side of the door wouldn't bring her word of work or potential death for once. That would be nice.
    Atra && Melissa && Hope && Zero && ZoseeMelissa pushed the door open gently, stepping through. At the sight of the Vaporeon the bulbasaur hurried out of the doorway so that Zosee could continue in. The grass-type suddenly felt rather self conscious here in one of the rooms of the Royal family. Two months out in the wilds had left her in rough shape. She had cuts and the plant equivalent of bruises in various places, and mud clung to ever surface and crack it could. They hadn't taken the time to clean up before coming here, and Zero and Zosee were left in similar shape. "Miss Eclipse?" Melissa started tentatively, but couldn't help a grin from suddenly springing to her face. Months of worrying, that nagging feeling of what if...? was finally at an end. "We found him."Zosee stepped in beside Melissa, giving Minerva a slight bow before lying down on the ground so that Zero could untie the Flareon from her back.
 Minerva
The scent leaked into the room well before it's owners did and Minerva's nose turned to the air for a few quick breaths before she decided very quickly to breathe through her mouth instead. It was the scent of the outdoors, but none of the nice parts. She was used to the earthy smell, but this was a little... Her eyes blinked rapidly a few times. And then a few times more. The stare of disbelief was broken as Minerva hopped off her chair and very slowly, hesitantly walked towards the Flareon. She very, very gently placed her paws against his side and felt for this breathing. The Jirachi could be figured out later. "A... Atra...?" She turned her head to Melissa, her eyes rapidly blinking in an effort to hold back the flood of relief. She wasn't entirely successful. "Where... where was he...?"
    Atra && Melissa && Hope && Zero && Zosee "In the eastern forests. We're pretty sure Hope -the Jirachi- took him there after the fight with the Raikou." Melissa stepped aside so that nothing blocked Minerva from her son. over the two months Atra's fur had grown out a fair bit, and it wouldn't be wrong to say that he was really fluffy. The first thing they had done when they found the Flareon was of course to check for his injuries, but the amazing thing was that he had none. It was as if Ivan had never attacked him. It was obviously the Jirachi's doing. "We can't wake him up, but he doesn't seem to be hurt or ill. According to Miss Azalea here, your son was seriously injured in the fight against the Raikou two months back, so we think that Hope put him into a healing sleep of some sort over the past few months." Zosee offered. "We're sure that he will wake soon."
 Minerva
"Oh... Oh thank god..." Tears were strange things, they really were. You could never control them, even if you tried. And they were always said to be sad things, but that wasn't always the case. Sometimes they came out because you were scared. Or sometimes because you were angry. Or sometimes, just sometimes, because you were so happy nothing else could do. "Thank you so much." Oh, what the hell was the point of holding it back. Minerva gently fluffed her way through her son's fur as she searched for any sign of scar or wound. It was ridiculously fluffy, but it was still easy enough to part if she used her front paws... Vaporeon always had very good balance due to the much longer, heavier tails. Her son was fine... Perfectly fine. She looked over at Melissa... there was one other that needed to know. "Melissa, would you please find his brother for me? The guards should be able to tell you where his room is."
    Atra && Melissa && Hope && Zero && ZoseeMelissa kept respectfully back, a vine coming up to quickly wipe away the tears that were coming to her own eyes. It was good to see Atra back. Though she and her captain haven't been very outwardly close to one another, they had developed a strong bond. There was, of course, always the question of what mental state he will be in after waking up. "H-huh? Oh, of course! I'll be right back." She only caught a few words from the request, having not been paying attention, but "brother" made it obvious what the guildmaster was asking. The Bulbasaur turned and left the room. "We'll be leaving then. Our little sister got caught up with these two, so we haven't seen her in quite a while." Zosee told the Vaporeon, getting to her feet. "The Jirachi is also our charge, so we'd appreciate it if you tell her to return to us once she wakes. For now I think it's best she stays with Atra." Zero added, and with a simple nod of their heads as farewell the two slipped out the open door and closed it behind them.
  Minerva & Albus
"Yes, of course. I will. Thank you again, both of you." She knew well enough who they were, of course. One tended to know their son's idols. Minerva was very quickly left alone with her unconscious son and silence for companions. "I thought... for a while that you were going to leave us alone." Even as he lay there, he seemed so still. But no, he was still breathing. The blood was still flowing. She pulled her paw back, having confirmed for a second time that her son was back with her. She would have to call Nova later... he would need a check-up... But there was still time. For now, she could rest and relax. Just... relax.
Albus opened the door roughly and jogged inside, his feet quickly darting past one another with a mild sense of urgency. Although Melissa had told him what was going on originally, he had slipped past her and the two had split off from one another at some point for some reason. He didn't really care. The first thing he did after a quick glance at his mother (who had laid down beside Atra) was quickly check to make sure he was breathing. A quick sigh of relief was followed by words that were possibly the most true he had ever spoken. "You're an a**."
   Atra && Melissa && Hope && Lilium Crack! The sound of a teleportation was heard just outside the door, before a familiar shiny Cyndaquil pushed her way into the room. She stopped for a moment, staring at the assembled Eclipse family with disbelief. "It- It really is him?" The Cyndaquil made her way over to Atra on all fours, slowly as if scared any sudden movements would destroy this fragile scene. Finally she reached Atra's side, and placed a hand tentatively on his side. The first thing that she noticed was that Atra was cold. Not cold as most people would define it, but Atra had been unable to keep his body temperature down without consciously forcing it ever since he evolved. His temperature was usually easily in the 100s when he was sleeping. He was simply at normal body temperatures right now. That scared her. She weaved a paw through his thick fur to the skin below. There was definitely a pulse, and his chest was rising and falling so he was breathing. Finally she reached up towards the Jirachi that was still clinging firmly to the Flareon, seemingly in deep sleep herself. Lilium stroked her hand once over its arm, smooth and cold as steel under her touch. "Thank you so much...for bringing him home safely." And with that Lilium buried her face in Atra's fur and started to cry. Melissa sat awkwardly outside the door only long enough to decide that she didn't want to intrude any more. She can have a proper reunion with Atra when he wakes up. With that hopeful thought in mind the Bulbasaur left for her Team room.
Tolin
Tolin came into the hallway with a crack as he teleported in from elsewhere. Outside wasn't exactly where he had planned on ending up, but it was close enough. This was the last place he could imagine finding Alfred and even if he wasn't here, chances are Minerva was. She would know where he was, since she had likely been the one to move him in the first place. He was hopeful that the whole affair hadn't dragged him out of the city, though; he was tired enough that his teleports were getting inaccurate, so chances were he couldn't make another one on his own and finding someone to give him a lift would be time consuming.
Alfred His appetite for food grew frail, but his hunger for knowledge was constant. Books were his life. The Gardevoir tended to drift off into reading throughout the entire day. It didn't matter the subject matter or length so long as it was words on paper it was readable and, in his mind, important. A vast knowledge of understanding lingered between the lines of text. Scripture, typed, it didn't matter. His eye was trained well enough to decipher even the most battered of pages from days upon days of reading any paper could he get his hands on.
Pokemon disappear when they die. Their flesh. Their bones. All living memory of them ceases. This was both a dreadful and natural occurance. Yet for some there is an exception to this end. For in the books they write they continue to exist. One can rediscover those lost souls. Their humor, their tone of voice, their mood. Through the written word they can anger you or make you happy. They can comfort you. They perplex you. They can alter your very ideals and opinions. All this, even though they are dead. Preserved in ink and paper they last forever. It's a kind of magic really.
He read continuously, constantly, to take his eyes...or rather eye, off the page for even a second was to fall back into the harsh reality that had become the world around him. Time hadn't stopped moving forward when the guild members had all but faded from the earth. The world turned steadily despite the loss of the many souls who'd sacrificed themselves to save it. It was heart breaking, it was painful, and he'd yet to develop a manner to cope with it and so he ignored it and drowned himself in the abysmal of knowledge that rested within the bookshelves around him. Minerva had rushed from the room a moment ago, he'd taken no notice aside from noting she'd left the door partially cracked in her wake. She wasn't usually the type to do so. Alfred had found that, in his brief moments of taking care to notice, she was a stern but kind Pokemon with a good head on her shoulders. Things like doors left open were rare occurances. She must have some disaster to avert. The Gardevoir inwardly frowned at this but his gaze fluttered back down to the pages spread across his lap once more. The book was tilted slightly to allow him to read easier with his warped depth perception and he sat in his usual manner, legs folded under him, on the couch off to the side of the room. To painful to take in anything, to horrible to make himself recall, so when the sudden snap of a teleport sounded just outside he hardly blinked in response. He may as well have not even heard it.
Tolin
The door was left open a crack. It was odd, but easy enough to explain; Minerva had probably rushed to the Main Hall. Or something to that effect at least given the general absence of any signs of life. Tolin wasn't really in any mood to head back to the hall as things were, so, at the very least the partially-open door presented a welcome enough invitation to enter the room and take a look around. If nothing else, he could either confirm or deny that the Gardevoir was living here which was benefit enough to warrant intruding if only for a few moments.
Tolin gently nudged the door open and stepped into the room sideways, leaving the crack only slightly larger than it was. It didn't take him long to spot Alfred. No, he was sitting there simply in plain sight with an old, decrepit book in his hands as he flipped carefully through page after page. Tolin couldn't help but smile; it was a relief. He had been worried as to how Alfred would cope, but... it seemed that he was doing fine. Months had passed but the Gardevoir simply remained as it suited him; with his face in a book. It fit him.
A few silent moments passed as the Scyther looked on before he finally stepped forward and towards the Gardevoir before stopping just a few feet away. "I'm back."
His ears gave the most marginal of twitches at the faint creak of the door widening further. It was a common sound, the wind probably shifted it slightly on its hinges. It wasn't anything worthy of pulling his attention from the pages before him. Alfred flicked a page, the rustling of the paper sounded at the same time a familiar voice rang out in the room. Startled, the Gardevoir dropped his book on the floor. Having not realized someone had stepped into the room he was immediately switching over to panic mode upon beind caught off guard. His head snapped upward, turning in the direction of the voice and his only visible eye, for the other was bound in bandages that looped around his head, widened in shock. I'm back. He heard the words and was surprised to fnd fury flash bright red in his mind. Had Tolin appeared with any other words of greeting he might have felt relief. Maybe even pleasant surprise, but the Scyther had been missing for two months. Presumed dead. And he had the audacity to come back and say simple I'm back as if he'd merely gone for a walk. Alfred felt tears bite into the corners of his eye, a frown replaced the usually expressionless visage of his face. He was quiet in nature mostly, he couldn't remember the last time he'd spoken in the void of nothing that had filled the past many weeks. Had he said a word at all? Perhaps a few 'hello's to Minerva. But that aside...it became quite clear he'd hardly spoken when he stated in a voice hoarse enough to be near inaudible, "...so you are." Before promptly bursting into tears and dissolving to the floor in a sobbing mess. good ******** job tolin :T
Tolin
Tolin had expected this. Or rather, not this in specific but Alfred bursting into tears was hardly something unexpected at this point especially after such a long absence. So it wasn't surprising and the Scyther took it in stride as he took a few short steps towards Alfred and leaned down on one knee. Consolation had never been the strong point of either Tolin or the Scyther race in general; they weren't built for it. Strong, powerful legs for speed. A limber body to twist and strike. Long, pointed scythes served perfectly not to capture but to kill prey. They were, in most ways a species unsuited for things like love or society and Tolin who had seen so much else often lamented that fact. But, no, this was hardly the time to even consider such mundane things he had long since come to recognize and accept.
"It's fine now." The Scyther spoke quietly, gently and rested one scythe softly against the Gardevoir. As his father would've before him, in such a situation, he imagined. "I'm sorry it took so long, but I'm back now."
