He looks more like an escaped convict than a construction worker.
Oh, and that Rasen-whatever attack of his? Yeah, DEFINITELY not ripping off anything.

I actually really hate One Manga, honestly. For two reasons: 1.) Licensed series. It's one thing to supply scans of a series that's not available in that language (English in this case). It's a completely different matter to supply scans of series that are licensed and available, like the popular long-running shounen series. 2.) OM, and other aggregator sites like it, make a ton of money from the ads everywhere. There's distributing an illegal product, and then there's making money off the illegal product. So yeah, I'm glad to see them go. A couple of companies seem to be working towards making free, legal "scanlations" available, so I'm hoping that some of these work out. TtheHero What a giant load.
And here I was, getting into reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's nine volumes long. Not issues, not chapters. Nine VOLUMES.
If these companies are against these manga sites so dang bad, why don't they take the time to have more of them translated themselves, so more people can enjoy them? Jojo is a LOT longer than nine volumes. It's also being translated and released by VIZ. Put your money where your mouth is. mad

TtheHero I still laugh when I compare Naruto's garb to that of a construction worker. Him and his ROAD CONE ORANGE outfit. And then there's that move of Kakashi's. One only wonders what is so ninja-y about a loud ball of lightning.
They say it sounds like a thousand rushing birds... but that's still pretty loud. xd Or the fact that he gives people Enemas.

Not to mention in his match against Kiba, part of what helped him win was his farting. They even turned that into an actual move in one of the games!

It's a completely different matter to supply scans of series that are licensed and available, like the popular long-running shounen series. Well, this isn't true. Even if they are available in America for example, it doesn't mean they are everywhere. Besides, we are ages behind the Japanese stuff, so the newer chapters aren't available anyway.

And reading them in advance (as opposed to waiting and buying the product) isn't just something that hurts corporations; you're ******** over the authors too, and the industry as a whole overall because of this. tl;dr, you're the villain here.

Weasel-chan Well, this isn't true. Even if they are available in America for example, it doesn't mean they are everywhere. This is true, and I'm generally not going to go after people in other countries who don't have a legitimate release. That said, I've seen several people in the last couple days talk about how OM was better than other aggregator sites because they took down licensed series. I find this hard to believe when people mention reading series like Naruto there. At the very least, I can't figure out what country they're going by for licensing. Weasel-chan Besides, we are ages behind the Japanese stuff, so the newer chapters aren't available anyway. I don't agree that this is a legitimate reason to read scans, but it is something that I would like to see fixed. A few places have been working on releasing free, legal scans of their releases, so I'm hoping that simultaneous releases like Rin-ne end up being the standard rather than the exception. That said, I can't help but feel pessimistic when FUNi simulcasts Shiki and I still get a friend linking me to some random fansub site telling me that I should watch it. Free, legal, and in a timely manner apparently isn't enough for some of the anime/manga fandom. =/

I have no problems with paying for my material. I used to buy the releases of series' even after reading them on OM before I started needing to divert every penny I ever get to gas money. It's just that the legal translators take ages to do their works. One particular scenario that springs to mind was with .Hack//Twilight (No vampire jokes). The series is three volumes and came out in Japan in a timely fashion, but there was a ridiculous 18 month delay between the English releases of 2 and 3.
And again, the mention that some series never even make it to America.

How do I hurt corpirations and authors when I buy it when it comes out? I do, I just want to be up to date and not 150 chapters behind.

Well, they took down mangas when single publishers requested it. Just felt like pointing it out. I guess we're just disagreeing there.

Afterthought to both of my posts: I understand that a lot of people don't buy when it's released, and I understand why the publishers want them taken down.
