Jerzeeboii Well, no matter what anyone says. Or no matter what the actual truth is. For me, Red=Ash, and Bue=Gary. Thats how I see them, and thats my final answer. 3nodding Same here. @Rishiki: It doesn't really matter too much. I'm trying to think of a similar scenario, but can't really think of it. But, if one is based off of the other, it should be perfectly fine for one to call Red "Ash". Like me. When I was little, I watched the show. So I knew Ash and Gary first.

Hoshioni Arcanas now, that's fine and all, but are they official statements? do you know how hard itll be to find an official statement..... but can why ignore the fact that the game came first then the manga then the anime..... its been watered down 3 times???? where is the loyality to the game.?????? It's the internet, you can find anything on it, if you try hard enough. When I played the original games, I set the main character's name as Gary and Ash respectively. Also, how do you explain how the red and blue version flip the names? IE: in the Red version, Red was Red, but in the Blue version, Red was Blue.

Jerzeeboii Hoshioni why would someone change it from red to satoshi,(ash)???? Copyright reasons? Only thing I can think of. 3nodding I always thought it was because not many people would name their child a color <_< Green? A male named Pearl? Are you serious? I'm guessing somebody played Red or Green and named their character Satoshi.. then used that same name for the anime. Ash was just for the English dub.. so it would make sense.. same for all names.. Kanna, Hikari, ETC. Everything I'm saying is speculation. Ash was based off Red, therefore he is in fact, Red. :3

Red is the charactor upon which Ash is based. It's just that the anime and game cannons are sepirate. So I now see them as to versions of the same charactor rather than one in the same. Now for my jokes...
