WAY TO GO, GUYS! Solarie is an official Tribe! Thank you guys so much for making it work! Now--let's keep the RP frenzy going! biggrin All but two foxes have had their certs updated with the Tribe marking of their choice. Yay!-T-I-M-E-S-K-I-P- Conundrum came back to the clearing with the spring, having just completed his morning prayers to Solarus and Miraja. There was now a pendant hanging from his necklace and a fresh tattoo on his flank, which he supposed meant that this tribe--his tribe-- was just that: a real Tribe, just like Ate had said it would be.
Conny sighed happily as the sounds of his Tribe going about their morning duties reached his ears--it was nice to be around the hustle and bustle of other foxes again, he had missed that.
Just a moment later he stepped through the forest and reached the clearing, looking around before nodding matter-of-factly. All seemed to be going as they should--
Then Conundrum spotted the shiney little...what were those? Padding over curiously, Conundrum realized that they were two BCRs...what? Raising his eyebrows, Conundrum half-wondered if he was hallucinating, but upon stepping hard on his own paw he decided he wasn't. What...?
"Excuse me," Conundrum called, turning back to his Tribe. "Do these belong to anyone...?"
The fact that they were both rainbow in coloring and both had puzzle-piece outlines had apparently been lost on the the Elder.
Furii had been talking with the other Teacher, Rei, about what their duties would entail--because she had this nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach that they would be needed soon. Even if that made no sense: there were no mates, no children, not even any flirting going on in the Tribe. At first, she had tried to just brush it off as her mind adapting to her new position, but that had proved impossible. Talking had helped a bit, but...
Furii's ears twitched as her Elder spoke up, raising her eyebrows. These? These what?
"We should go see what's going on, Rei," Furii said, moving to her feet--but she realized that that might have come out a bit bossy, which was not her intention at all. Sometimes, she had to remind herself she wasn't an Elder and couldn't behave such.
"Er, if you want."

((Congratulations everyone!))
Ever since she had been accepted as the shaman she had been working hard, having collected many herbs from many locations to help heal her fellow members, even going so far as leaving the desert to find herbs. Her necklace dangling from her neck was proof of what she was now, a Solarie tribemate. Finally she belonged somewhere, and she was prepared to do anything for Conundrum and her tribe.
She was passing by, refining her stash of herbs, when she spotted her puzzle and rainbow colored elder when she heard his voice. She turned, heading towards him and stopping, eyes widening. Were those... No. It couldn't be.
"No." She blankly responded, something strange for the usually bubbly and friendly vixen. She raised her head to stare at Conundrum, then the...BCR's.
"Conundrum, if I am not mistaken, they look like you." She spoke up, ears flicking. But how? Last time she had been told, Conundrum didn't have a mate. Did he? Maybe he did and she had not noticed?

Xiaoshi let out a quiet little yawn and continued her relaxing over by the small shade of a tree. She smiled as she looked down at the tribal tattoo on her hip. If one was to ask her in the beginning stages of her adulthood or even as a kit, she would have told you she never thought of belonging to a tribe. She didnt think any would feel at home to her. However it looked like fate seemed to have different ideas than her and here she was in a tribe as a nurturer. Well she would be once there was something to do. As of right now there seemed to be no signs of any mates or babies appearing along the way.
'well that might change rather soon' Xiaoshi said rising to her feet as the question directed at the tribe by their elder sank in with her. With a curious glance she approached closer to look at the said BCRs in question. A light frown coming over her. "I agree with Unia. They do have the same rainbow and puzzle markings as you" she said looking back up at Conundrum.

Ate sighed, her tail swishing lightly as she heard the commotion.
"Do these belong to anyone," she heard Conundrum ask, and she moved forward to see what Furii, Unia, Xiaoshi and Conundrum were gathered around, and her heart nearly stopped when she saw them.
She'd grown close to the elder through it, perhaps because she'd felt as though she'd had a hand in convincing Conundrum that Solarie should be a tribe (she swished the already familiar weight of the ring on her tail), and she'd perhaps even grown to ... /like/, to love, perhaps ... Conundrum, and she'd been slightly less subtle in dropping hints - but this felt like a ... a betrayal? A slap in the face? Both and more.
She padded forward, a smile on her face by the time she was in Conundrum's vision, and nodded at them. "What do you mean, 'Do these belong to anyone' - Xiaoshi and Unia are right, who else could they belong to? They look just like you." She laughed faintly, a slight bell sound, and then nodded.
"Congratulations," she smiled, perhaps a bit more hollowly this time, "They're gorgeous."
She sighed softly, looking over her shoulder. "Sorry, I've got to get back to work."
She hadn't been doing anything and she knew it. her eyes lingered on Conundrum for a few seconds before she turned and padded off the way she'd came, the odd mix of hurt and shame on her face only shining through once she was walking away from the group.
Just as Ate was leaving, Pyrite stepped up. It saw the odd look on her face, but made no mention of it to anyone, only looking up at the gorgeous BCRs lying on the ground.
"Oooh, children!" Pyrite's face, which seemed as though it should be harsh, lit up and it shifted around a little, still looking brightly around. "I'm going to have to agree with them, however - they look like you, immensely. I've never seen another fox with a pattern like you."
pyrite longed for the little pitter-patter of feet around, children to play with and teach and enjoy - its eyes hazed over for a second, an odd second of imagination and pure happiness.
"Regardless of whose they are - we're going to keep them, correct? We can't send them into the desert." Pyr wasn't commanding, merely stating - it might not have been with Solarie for long, but it knew Conundrum and it knew Conundrum would not kill them by doing so.

Unia noticed Ate's attitude change, frowning slightly. She had noticed the change in Ate before, how she acted around Conundrum. Unia wanted to approach the green vixen, to try and comfort her. She knew what was wrong, the grey fox was excellent at observing other peoples mood changes. But she had other duties to fill first, but rest assured she would approach Ate eventually.
"Conundrum, do you remember how this could happen?" Unia asked, pointing her tail at the BCR's. She was not going to let the male brush past these BCR's. They had to be his, they were the same color as him! The motherly fox was not one to mess with when it came to babies.
"Because they are not mine, and I doubt they are anyone else's."

Conny only vaguely heard the concerns of his tribe members, his eyes locked onto the rainbow, puzzled BCRs below him. They were right, they could only be his. But...but how?
Then he heard Ate, and Pyrite in turn. Ate...over the past...well, Conny couldn't quite put a paw on when, but he had grown quite fond of the younger female, partially because he still held her slightly responsible for the Tribe coming together at all and partially because...well, he liked talking to her, and he liked listening to her.
"Wha..." Conny started vaguely, then looked up at their Guardian. "Of...of course we're going to keep them," The idea of abandoning children, whether or not they were his (how could they be his?), was completely reprehensible to him--after he himself and his sisters had been abandoned, he had known early on that if he ever got blessed with children, he'd be there.
"I...I guess they must be mine..." Conundrum agreed after a long silence, still staring down at the little beings before him. A better question might have been, 'how did they get here?', but Conundrum couldn't think about that right now.
Unia was not the only one who noticed Ate's change of attitude--she was a Carer, for crying out loud, and a Nurturer, even--her 'work' was right there...something wasn't right.
He was torn, talk to Ate or deal with the BCRs. After a few moments of thought, he looked back up at Pyrite and asked weakly, "Um, could you watch those for a few minutes? I think one of my Tribemembers is..."
Conundrum trailed off and slunk (well, as much as an Elder can slink) out of the group, catching up to Ate easily. He was silent for a few minutes, but then he cleared his throat.
"Ate?"
Dawn was soaring high above the desert below her, which might not have been the brightest idea--her coat was largely black, and heat rose, which led to a very uncomfortable feeling for the female 'Phim.
Soon, though, she spotted a little patch of green and decided, if it was real, that it would be as good a place as any to stop. Pulling her wings closer, she let herself head toward the ground, but she was distracted by an orange dot--no, another Modifox, apparently collapsed from the heat. That wasn't good!
Abruptly changing her course, Dawn skidded to a stop next to him, hesitantly poking him with her front paw.
"Excuse me, mister? Are you okay?" That was a silly question. "Um, let me get some help, okay~?"

Pyrite, understanding (as he had seen the change in Ate's face), smiled as best it could. "Of course, Conundrum."
Pyrite very carefully gathered the two BCRs together, and sat next to them, watching as though the children inside would pop out at any second. There was a pause as it again fell into a state of bliss imagining them before it looked up at Unia and Xiaoshi. "How are you both?"
Almost absently, Pyrite continued swishing them around with its foot, gently, lovingly, almost. God, how Pyrite wished it could have children of its own, infants that looked like it and watch them develop their own personalities - but Pyrite was also just as happy watching other peoples' children, watching them grow and considering them its own.
Ate froze when Conundrum called out to her. She quickly composed herself, making the smile that she'd had on just for him return, and she looked over her shoulder with the smile firmly stuck, asking, "Yes?"
She tilted her head, "If it's about leaving while there are your," this your was stressed oddly, "children need to be cared for, sorry, I'd been hunting since there were no children to care for quite yet - and since Xiaoshi was there, I thought you might prefer to have her get them set up and I'll come later - sorry if that's not what you want, I can go back now."
There was another smile, forced but 'brighter,' and she turned around completely with an almost expectant look on her face - of course he'd want her to, her wandering away was incredibly stupid and her lie was probably transparent - all she'd wanted was to be alone for awhile.

Unia watched her elder run off to Ate, sighing under her breath. They were lucky, maybe unable to confess their feelings quite yet but they could be together all the time. The grey vixen's ears lowered, watching the BCR's being swished on Pyrite's tail. Most would be scared of a dragon like creature, but she was not. Pyrite was a friend of the tribe, so it was a friend of hers. Actually, Pyrite was very gentle, she liked the creature. Xiaoshi though? She barely knew the fox. Hopefully, that would change.
She turned as a question was directed to her, flashing one of her famous innocent and gentle smiles. "Good! Better now that I've been accepted as the Shaman. How about you, Pyrite? And you, Xia?" She hoped Xiaoshi didn't mind the nickname.

Xiaoshi took a deep breath and shook her head also sitting relatively close to the BCRs. Ah it was a lovely time of the time of the day just perfect for a slice of drama. With a shake of her head she looked back at the elder and fellow nurturer before turning back towards the tribe guardian. "mmm fine as I can be. It's hard to have too many problems when you are slightly jobless." Xiaoshi stated. "well maybe not so much any more though." she refrained from asking the 'how about you question since Unia had just answered and had already covered the question towards the guardian. It was about then she noticed the shortening of her name a sort of neutral look covering her face. She preferred her full name but knew it was rather hard to say. It was slightly amusing Unia had gone with the hardest part but she could live with it.

Not for the first time that morning, Conundrum faltered--he could tell that something was wrong with Ate, but she wasn't telling him. Why? What had he done?
Sighing, Conny slowed and stopped following her, nodding reluctantly. "Alright. Please, keep hunting, I wouldn't want you to go hungry. Perhaps taking Suna with you would help," Conny replied, sighing again.
Well, if Ate didn't want to talk to him, so be it--he couldn't force her, after all, and he had other duties to attend to.
After collecting his thoughts, the rainbow Elder returned to the small group, then looked at Xiaoshi. "Well, it appears you have a job now," Conundrum filled the silence with a weak smile. "Pyrite, you can give the BCRs to her, if you like,"
Looking around, Conundrum frowned a bit--where was Helios, Kalevi? Kalevi wasn't supposed to leave on exploratory missions without contacting Conundrum first, and Helios was normally up by now. Hrm.
Give me strength, Conundrum thought to himself, the 'Dieties, anyone who might be listening. He sensed today was going to be a long day.

Today was indeed going to be a long day. She eyed the elder and the green fox, ears lowering. Oh dear. She wanted to help, but knew Ate had not warmed to her. No one had, actually. They would, in due time. She would make sure of it! Instead, she looked towards Conundrum as he approached the small group, nodding.
"Are you okay?" She questioned him. She wanted to help the male, mostly because she was the kind to worry about her friends. Of course, the tribe hadn't really grown close to her, but she still believed tribemates were friends.
"Do you need anything?" She tilted her head, glancing at the BCR's. "Or anyone to assist you?" She wasn't judging Conundrum by the strange arrival of the BCR's, she was sure he had an explanation, of sorts. The mother couldn't be in the tribe, Conundrum had always seemed to have a thing for Ate, and none of the other females. Ate was upset, so they couldn't be hers.

It was far, far too hot. Ciro enjoyed being in the sun, but this...well this was him biting off a bit more than he could chew. He tried to continue forward, but it seemed like his legs wouldn't obey him and for a hot, sunny day, it was amazingly dark.
A paw poked into his side, and a voice from far away intruded on his musings. Was he okay? He didn't quite know. Help? Yes, help would be good right about now.
Ciro realized that his eyes were closed and opened them long enough to see a large, black shape above him. He tried to say, "Water, please." But he wasn't sure if he had accomplished the task or, if he had, if his voice had been sufficiently loud enough to be heard.

Unia heard the weak voice of a fox, ears flicking as her head turned, her necklace making a soft clicking noise against the base of the necklace. She dipped her head in a silent goodbye to the Elder. "I will always be willing to help you if you need it, Conny." She cheerfully declared before nudging her Elder affectionately and heading off. It wasn't long before she found a orange fox splayed out on the ground, spotting Dawn beside the fox. She quickly approached the Phim and fox, weakly smiling at Dawn before glancing at the male.
"Are you okay? You look hot. You need water. Right?" The newly made Shaman doubted herself for just a second before turning her sharp gaze on Dawn. Usually she was bubbly, but right now it was serious time.
"You have wings, can you please rush back and collect some water somehow and bring it back? I'll stay here and watch over him." It was not really a question, more of an order. She knew she did not have this right, but as Shaman she was here to help her members, or any fox that stumbled upon their land. Dawn was faster than her, anyway. She smiled at Dawn, remembering to be kind even if she was panicking.
"Please?"

Xiaoshi looked over at the bcr's again. She did have a job to do, and by the looks of it even if it was for a little while she was going to be alone in this job. Ate was apparently off with her own feelings at the moment.
"Yes, it appears I do" she pointed out and walked over towards the tribe guardian taking his lack of protest as a sign of approval she shifted the Bcr's over to her and began walking back towards the area that served as a little nursery.
Looking back over her shoulder she hoped everything would work out. She didnt judge conundrum on the sudden appearance of these kits, after all she knew occasionally some foxes fell prey to such cloudy hazy nights and surprise bcrs weeks later.

The Modiphim frowned worriedly, her wings twitching nervously. "I...I don't know how I would keep the water from spilling...um...um...I could carry him?" Sure, she had never tried lifting anything smaller than a kit, but she was Modiphim--bigger and stronger than regular foxes, right? She could do it, couldn't she?
"If we don't get him back soon, he will perish," Dawn said after a moment or two of thought, nodding to herself, pleased with her decision. "If I can't carry him, we can drag him there~" Dawn smiled brightly, then knelt down onto her front legs and grabbed him by the scruff of her neck.
She stood up, pulling him with, then let go and quickly moved herself underneath him, so he was across her upper back, but not in the way of her wings.
"Can you nudge him more into place so he won't fall off, miss?" Dawn asked politely, looking back at Unia simply, with a pleasant and easy smile on her face.
