Shiro stuck his tongue out at Lin, quite possibly one of his only immature moments. "Hush you. After this program I've been working on, anything is interesting."

He grinned. "Besides. I'm quite sure it's safe to say that no one has ever tried to catalogue the DNA of the Arda elves."

Lin wondered if anyone would be willing to catalogue the DNA of Arda elves, because elves were very much well... magical, that being said she wondered if it was even possible.

"True... though who knows if there are other elves out there...."

"Whether there are or not," Shiro murmured, "to look at elven genetics would be quite fascinating."

He paused. "The research would have to be carried out here," he muttered to himself pushing his laptop aside and reaching for one of the notebooks he had out on the desk. He started scribbling down notes. "Samples ... more equipment ..."

Kaito stared at his twin as Shiro started writing. "Okay ... I think we just lost him from this conversation."

The elves are going to think Shiro was insane, since they had little use for figuring out genetics for themselves. Hell, Lin thought he was insane, because she was pretty sure elves as magical beings were not going to give any straight forward answers.

She stared on along with Kaito, "I apologize since I'm the one who planted the idea in his head."

She said this very dryly so it was questionable if she was sorry or not, but she had to admit Lin had not been expecting this at all.

Kaito waved off her apology. "No worries. I'm getting used to it by now. And he really does hate that particular program he's working on. Besides, a project like this is too expensive, even for him: he'll forget about it soon enough."

It would cost thousands if not millions of dollars for him to carry out. It wouldn't happen, not for decades, if ever.

That was a relief because Lin couldn't imagine anyone doing something like that on a massive scale.

"That's good to know, otherwise I would worry...." Lin murmured thoughtfully, "I mean this whole thing about genetics would be strange to them... heck with all of Gaia's oddities I'm surprise how well it's taken root here."

There were limits after all, there was no way to explain the odd thing that was Gaian ability to simply have children.

Kaito shrugged. "As strange as things are here, people like to try to make sense of them. That's all I can say."

Besides, what about Gaia wasn't strange to the elves? Would researching genetics really be all that much more strange than anything else they had introduced to the world?

Lin chuckled at that watching Miyuki point out a book but not understanding what she was pointing out. She should get some books for Miyuki when she thought about it.

"Which is funny when storks bring babies," Lin murmured softly, "By the way, I don't suppose this library has anything on the kitsune?"

"Try the second shelf at the far end of that aisle," Kaito pointed towards the opposite end of the room. "That's where most of the books on races are kept, especially the ones that are more legendary than others."

Lin never understood how one race could be more legendary than an other but she nodded anyways. Picking up Miyuki so she wouldn't cause trouble while she went down to get teh book.

"Come on you, let's see what we can find out hmm?" Lin murmured, "I don't suppose there are also children books?"

"Well, this is a library," Kaito grinned. "Try nearer the door. I think Shiro did that so that the kids don't have to get lost in all the informational books."

"You could always ask Serenity to make one for you," Ura put in with a grin. "She's been making some for Ian, he loves them."

"That would be great," Lin murmured, "Since, I want to get Miyuki started on reading, but I also want to get her familiar to other languages too...."

She frowned a bit trying to figure it all out, she knew she learned a lot when she was a child, but that was on her own choice.

"Do you think I'm doing too much too soon?"

Kaito snorted. "Are you kidding me? She's a stage-grower. She'll learn faster than most kids, don't waste time with her! Besides, it's scientifically proven that if you read to kids when they're young, they're more likely to be interested in reading when they're old enough to learn."

He paused. "Have you started teaching her other languages?" he asked cautiously.

Ura grinned. "She knows Ada!" he said proudly.

"Yes," Lin replied, "Elvish is a bit easier since everyone speaks it anyways, Japanese and Chinese is harder and I've only managed to talk a bit at night, since I need everyone else to understand me."

Maybe she should teach it to Earendil just so that she could continue with Miyuki's.

"She knows a few words.... and she keeps mimicking everyone which helps greatly, but it's hard to tell sometimes because well.... I've never looked after or interacted with anyone so... mentally young."

"Come on, you have twin siblings who are that young," Kaito pointed out. "You can't tell me you've never interacted with them before!"

He paused, then added, "Besides, you can always ask one of us to converse in Japanese with you. We don't know Chinese-"

"We do," Ura interrupted, meaning Shiro and himself.

"Why does that not surprise me," Kaito sighed. He turned back to Lin. "As I was saying. You could just come to any of us if you want to converse in those languages with Miyuki around."
