"I'll be okay.."Nico said, still stretching as Herieo charged him. Not surprised that the stance was for show. It had looked copied straight off a video game.
He thought he had solid chance of at least putting up a fight for him. Maybe even land in a few blows If he caught him off guard. 'Wouldn't that be something...' Nico thought keeping a smile on his face.
Nico saw the attack a mile away. He figured Herieo was testing him. After all this was not the speed of a vice captain. Probably a newly enlisted member. Nico smiled.
When the attach came he shifted his torso, just slightly enough so Herieo's fist went by it, then in basic tai-chi move his left hand lashed out like a all natural whip towards the vice-captains face.
He expected Herieo to counter, so he was mentally preparing himself while continuing the attack.
He wandered if Herieo expected him to draw his zanpokutou? Nico couldn't put himself to draw his sword if the vice-captain wouldn't use his gloves.
It wouldn't seem right.

He wouldn't go down quietly, even without his zanpokutou.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 31, 2010 8:32 am

"Nice!" In sync with his own blow being dodged, Herieo's upper body went to lean back and to the left. In this motion, he performed a swerving movement without ever leaving the spot he'd decided to attack from; at the same time he gave himself more then enough room to dodge the fist, lingering under the outstretched limb. Pausing for a moment to let it be known he wasn't going to attack just yet, Herieo began to speak. "This some of that stuff you were posin' with when I interrupted..? I only ask cause I'm interested of course!" Despite speaking quickly, and as a distraction, the boy went to flowing backwards and from underneath Nico. Once away about three or so feet, he re-entered the (n)ever-so-formal fighting pose and stood firm. He allowed himself to hop back and forward, moving his clenched hands down and outwards to shake. This shirtless appearance, accompanied by the innate movements was similar to some old kung-fu movie star. Not even a comment was allowed when he did his next movement; "WUAOOOH!" Yes; It was in fact as dramatic and over done as it seemed. Herieo had, quite literally, let out a sharp "Battle Cry" of some sort. This signaled his speedy movement towards Nico for a second time, now spinning mid-descent in an attempt to deliver a roundhouse kick; it was noticeably more efficient then the last basic attempt, proving that even without form.. an inexperienced experienced persona could be developed. Still though, he expected Nico to very much be capable of blocking, if not dodging or countering neatly.

Nico of course saw the dodge coming. Herieo was the vice captain.
He prepared himself to block a counter attack from him, but apparently that was not in the vice-captain's mind.
He was a little more than surprised to see him back off, but he was even more thankful.
It gave him some room to calm his mind, and prepare for his next attack.

He saw the wild rush coming, it was actually quiet obvious.
When the roundhouse kick came, he raised his hands and grabbed his leg. Halting the attack.
But the momentum stored up had too come out, so he spun Herieo around, and threw him too the nearest wall. with a a battle cry of his own."Rrrrraaagghhhh!!!!" His booming voice shouted as he hurled Herieo at the wall.
He calmed himself down."Using, you opponents power...Against himself...Thats the essence of Tai-chi and that's what I use!" He shouted.
The cool part of tai-chi was it allowed him to outlast most people in a battle.

Herieo could only smile as his body's immediate control was switched into an extension of Nico's. He remained silent through the roar, letting his body be thrown over towards one of the walls in the distance. Luckly, mid-descent, he'd managed to regain some stability and slide against the floor in a crouch. He made a loud skidding noise through this movement, a slightly impressed look on his face as he seemed to easily recover whatever composure was temporarily lost. "Transferring' motion, hunh..? Sounds like something made for the purpose of stopping me and me alone! I'm flattered! Sadly, I can't help but wonder what happens if there's too much force exuded for the user to channel. Meh, we could always try that later.." Herieo thought this to himself as he remained in his kneeled position, continuing to glare on towards Nico. "That's pretty nice.. It's really good to see new squad members with so much potential.. especially in just hand to hand!" He stood quickly, brushing both shoulders in a slight sweeping fashion. "Promise to show me some of it later..?" He asked at the same time he came into the position used twice before now. Despite seeming a bit calmer then with his last two efforts, he was still quite silly to be standing like this. Nonetheless, he was ready to fight some'more! In a swift charge, Herieo became a slight blur, his motives become apparent as he entered Nico's range. Upon entrance, he dropped into a crouch and swiveled to the right, his palms quickly opening and slamming against the floor. In this twirling motion, he allowed himself to perform a very quick leg sweep.

((Sorry that I haven't been able too post until now, my hours have been hectic.))

Nico let out a little smirk, he felt a little proud, lasting this long against a vice-captain. Even though he was going easy.
"Of course, vice-captain Herieo."
His eyes flashed open as Herieo rushed him, he had expected it, but it nonetheless made the speed any less greater. While Herieo crouched down, Nico was able to ready his arms for a block.
The leg sweep hit hard, and he had too fight too maintain his balance, dropping onto one knee.
He once again had a hold on his leg.Getting back up too his feet.
Herieo would probably see the throw coming if he decided too use it again.
Instead, Nico pulled on the leg so that Herieo's upper body would come off the ground and fly in the direction he pulled.
Nico let go of the leg, and his fist flashed out too Herieo's face mid air.

It was... strange. Not being apart of 4th. Upon her graduation she'd been forced into the squad because of her low scores and jumpy nature. Still, after a while she'd learned to love the place. And when she'd chosen to leave... Well every single day after leaving she'd had to fight herself so she didn't go back like a misbehaved puppy, tail between it's legs and all. when she finally did return, she'd given in to the desire to try other Squads. Now here she was, a member of the 2nd Squad... Not just any member though. She was supposed to be head of the Detention Unit...

Maggots Nest.

Hirimi shuddered where she stood, unable to stop herself. The place gave her the creeps. It housed all the criminals, and those who would otherwise be a danger to themselves and others. What's worse, she wasn't allowed to carry her everpresent Zanpakutou in there. She understood why, in case one of the prisoner's tried to get a hold of the sword. Still, that didn't mean she liked the idea, she felt vulnerable with out the sword, the weapon always at her waist. Always. She'd have to learn how to protect herself with out the weapon it would seem... Okay, so hand-to-hand wasn't exactly a new concept to her. And sure, she didn't suck at it... But that didn't mean she was good at it.

... Which explained her presence here today. She was stood there like a fool, staring blankly out into space as she argued with herself. Finally, she let out a heavy sigh, shook her head, and let herself drop to the ground, both her legs and arms instantly crossing as she settled herself there. The great space was void of all life. And from the looks of it, no one had been here in a while! Well... That was just fantastic! She debates with herself for two hours, before finally giving in to coming here, spends another two hours lost trying to find the place, and when she finally gets here? Empty.

Totally, and completely EMPTY.

A sour look crossed her face, a scowl on her lips. How the hell was she supposed to practice hand-to-hand by herself?!

Florian was a new graduate of the Sereitei Academy. He'd spent tireless hours perfecting his Hakuda and Kidou only to find himself nearest the bottom of the list. It seemed that his inability to communicate properly and introverted tendencies made him least valuable as a teammate. The simple concept of having to rely on others was something he failed to understand. The idea was a foreign one, something that had never even crossed his mind. To Florian, you only had yourself to rely on and other people only got in the way. He knew this idea was selfish and close-minded but it was the only thing familiar to him anymore; being alone was what he was good at.

Nevertheless, Florian knew how important it was to build interpersonal relationships, especially with one's Squadmates. So here he was, in the Second Divisions training grounds. Here he could release frustration and aggression and even sharpen his Hakuda. It was a perfect fit for him. Being here however, met sacrificing his privacy and solitude. It was a bitter thing but something he was willing to get use to.

Now, as he properly entered the training structure, he noticed a beautiful young woman standing alone. She looked livid and far beyond irritated. Florian was quite curious as to why though. Were these training grounds not sufficient? Did she have standards that this place simply could not meet? How was he supposed to meet her expectations then? The assumptions were many and in fact, quite intimidating. Florian knew that he could not presume anything about her for he did not know her. What better place to get to know her than here?

Gathering his courage, Florian took several steps forward. In his deep accented voice, he reached out with broken words; "Gut- uh, aftare-noon fraulein." The normal deep reverberations of his thundering voice shook even more. He lacked surety in his English and felt stupid in front of this girl who looked so well educated, so well rounded, who looked like royalty in his eyes. "Ich- uh, I am called Florian. You are?" Florian cringed at his inferior language skills despite all his efforts. What a great way to introduce yourself to someone. He might have well just blurted out "hey I'm Florian, the resident idiot". But even then, he might not have been able to form such a high level sentence.

The internal debating had begun again. What the hell was she supposed to do? She couldn't practice alone, but she didn't know anyone in the squad that well. Her bad sense of direction ruled out going to the Academy, or sneaking off to another squad...

Hirimi just sighed again. This wasn't exactly how she'd planned today. Maybe she should just go familiarize herself with this insane job that had been thrown into her lap.... Or she could see if 4th needed help with anything. Sure, she wasn't one of them anymore, but that didn't mean she couldn't be useful. She did know several Chiyudo after all!

She was so deeply set on solving her dilemma that she didn't hear the sound of approaching footsteps. As you can imagine, when she heard that impossible deep voice... All color drained from her skin, leaving it bone white, her whole body flinching from shock. Yes... she had a wonderful way of making first impressions.

The owner of the voice that had startled her to death was a man. He looked to be far older then her, but appearances were very deceiving around her... And oh was he tall! Even sitting on the ground, it was impossibly easy to see that he probably dwarfed her. Her eyes were a little wide as she half stared at him. No, she didn't recognize him, and she was downright positive she'd never seen him before. Who could forget a voice that deep or someone that tall?

He was speaking again, this time asking for her name. She blinked, surprise written on her face, before she finally flashed her usual heartwarming smile. "Sorry, I didn't hear you come in." The last thing she wanted was him thinking that he'd actually terrified her! She was just a little jumpy if you snuck up on her... "I'm Hirimi."

She was even more beautiful from the front, what a sight to behold and how surprised he had been. "Uh, pleasure to be meeting you! May I, uh, sit with you?" Florian was unsure of the foreign words that spewed from his mouth and he had hoped that she would understand. Hirimi, very pretty name, fitting for a girl of such looks. The first thing Florian had noticed about her was her size. Naturally, she was smaller than he, but that was no surprise to him; rather, she looked like a very delicate individual, someone who took each footstep lightly as if hoping not to disturb the ground. The next thing to be noticed was her startlingly red hair. It was vibrant and natural, healthy and looked well kept; not overly done or fussed over. And lastly, upon her turning around, he noticed her luminate emerald eyes. They looked like two large gems stuck into her eye sockets. Florian felt even more inferior now; he felt like a trespasser and nearly turned the other direction to leave. Something inside him told him to stay, and so stay he did.

Obediently, Florian stayed standing. He was not the time to intrude nor bring himself next to if not invited. While it had been ages since he'd be in such casual company with another human being, he had not forgotten gentlemen manners and the formalities of conversation. How he hoped right now that this were coming across. Florian wished with all his might that his speaking did not make him look like a fool in her valley green eyes. He wanted nothing more than be seen as a polite man simply looking for a meet and greet but his lack of confidence in such a situation made him feel greatly otherwise.

This was so unlike Florian too. He felt as though he'd never talked so much in his entire life. In fact, he had become so entranced by her, a woman whom he could never be attracted to, despite his undying admiration, that he became completely oblivious to his surroundings. What a beautiful place this was. The facility was grand and regal. While it lacked a touch of nature and color it was simple and magnificent in its own right. Florian hadn't even noticed the darkness of the wood floor of the dojo, or the softness of the dirt/sand mixture he'd walked through on his way in. He'd neglected the artistic looking marble outside and the many utilities for training. He had become so nervous, so removed from his comfort zone that he'd become an oblivious mumbling zombie without direction or intention and only now did he realize this, how unforgivable.

Never mind all that though, that was the old Florian. Today marked a milestone, he was going to become the social butterfly he had always wished himself to be, or at least the version that were possible for someone of his eccentricity. Here, with Hirimi, Florian would step outside of his self imposed solitude and make a friend, his first in his entire life.

This fellow, Florian as he'd introduced himself, was a little strange. This giant was.... shy? He was so hesitate when he spoke, as if terrified she might yell at him! It only made her smile a little more. His insecurity was cute, plan and simple, but it wasn't like she'd tell him that! Men seemed to have this ego problem where they didn't like to be called 'cute'.

He was watching her so intently, it almost made her feel self conscious, making her want to reach up and make sure something wasn't on her face or something. Stopping herself, she just patiently, and nodded when spoke again. "Sure! I could use the company, after all the more the merrier!" Hirimi wasn't one to shy away from meeting new people, and as it seemed, the shy giant could use from company. And seeing as he was willingly staying she wouldn't have to track him down later! .... Or attempt to track him down...

Hirimi was half terrified that her over enthusiasm wouldn't scare this giant away. But she wasn't being that outspoken, was she? She could be a lot worse if you gave her time to warm up to the person! .... Okay, that really didn't help her case. She just prayed her 'true' nature and over the top self didn't start showing through until after he got used to her enthusiasm!

"You're in Second to, right?" She suddenly paused, a blank, look on her face before she flicked her own forehead. "I mean, of course you're in Second.... This is our training facility.... Unless you are just visiting?" Her eyes were a little wide as she realized just how stupid she was being. Great. It was already showing through. Quickly she bowed her head in a comical manner. "Sorry... I don't try to ramble..." It just happened more often then not.

The sincerity in her voice had been surprising to him. The fact that Florian had been so well received by a stranger seemed to open up new doors and possibilities in his mind. This woman had no reason to be kind to him; minus the fact that he was quite possibly more physically strong than her and that he also dwarfed her by over a foot in height. Despite those two factors, Hirimi had indeed been kind to him and this was the most welcoming experience Florian had had in a very, very, long time.

"Danke." Acknowledging her invitation for him to join her, Florian allowed a brief, curt, close lipped smirk to sneak across his face before quickly disappearing. Walking over beside her, he dropped down to his butt and kicked his feet out before him. Bringing his legs close to his chest, the gentle giant wrapped his arms around his long legs and rested his chin upon his knee caps. As she spoke, Florian directed his eyes across the room, further studying the dojo. He was listening intently to her words however and noted a slight lack in confidence as she spoke to him. She seemed nervous, which he could not blame her for he was also quite nerved in this situation.

"Ja. I am a member of the Zweite or uh, you say Second." Turning briefly to make a moment of eye contact, Florian smiled toothily, his perfectly positioned and sparkly white teeth glistening like porcelain only to be quickly hidden once again. "What is ramble?" Florian was aware of her own slight embarrassment and therefore shamelessly acknowledged his own ignorance. Whatever this "ramble" meant, he was almost sure she wasn't doing it. Being nervous was one thing, being talkative was another. Florian simply thought that she was making small-talk, breaking the ice and for all purposes, Florian was thankful.

How he had wished that things had gone differently in the Academy. Looking back now only a month or so ago, Florian could now see that he had isolated himself. For what reason? Out of fear? Or disregard? Maybe it was just who he was. As much as he hated to admit it, Florian was cold and distant. Everything he knew was what he had taught himself, no one had been there for him to set him on the right path or to push him towards the right direction. No hints, no help. It was always him, just him. The realization of this made Florian consider it a sad tragedy however, it had made him who he was and in many ways, he owed many thanks to himself. No matter, Florian would never give himself that type of gratitude, he was a humble man and such ideas were as far from his mind.

"You, uh, you are Zweite, also?" Attempting to clear his mind now, Florian struck back to the conversation and began his own inquiries. Florian wished to get to know better his, quite possibly, only friend.

The man's obvious superiority in strength and size made absolutely no difference to Hirimi. At least half the Shinigami in the Sereitei dwarfed her, and even more had to be stronger then her. Even worse? She had very few friends who fell under 'smaller then her' or 'weaker then her'. So then what was her reason for being so open and welcoming? It was just her nature. She wouldn't turn anyone away, even if she wasn't in a good mood. That wasn't the case today. Today, she rather liked the idea of getting to know one of her squad mates.

Hirimi almost let out a sigh of relief when he announced that he was in Second. That would have been unusually embarrassing if she'd guessed wrong... Not like she wasn't already embarrassed. She really would make a fool of herself... Like always. Only when she heard his question did she look up, surprise replacing her embarrassment. "Oh... Um..." She thought, how should she explain it to him? He obviously had troubles understanding the language to begin with... "It's when you say more then you meant to, a lot of times with out even knowing what you're saying." Sure, it hadn't been that long of a ramble before, but it would have been if she hadn't caught herself. she'd talk his ears off if she wasn't careful!

She was curious. Very curious. She couldn't figure out just what language it was that was native to him, but he'd only slipped a few words here and there, so it was difficult even remembering the bits and pieces. Not wanting to sound rude though, she kept her curiosity to herself.

The conversation seemed to have died, and before she could come up with a replacement he'd returned the question. Another warm smile touched her lips as she looked at him and nodded. "Yup. Just transfered not to long ago."

Hirimi paused for a few moments, unable to contain her curiosity any longer. "I'm sorry, you're accent. I don't recognize it, where is it from?" Another quick pause. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to. Just curious." She smiled a little brighter then, as if to not appear hostile in any way.

A loud crash echoed through out the training grounds follower by a loud thud as the newest member of Sqaud Two Hikaru got thrown through some of the equipment. "Dam he's stronger then I expected." Hikaru muttered as he wiped blood from the corner of his mouth. Standing up he brushed himself off while his assailant clambered through the wreckage of the broken equipment. "Boy you need to learn to pick your fights better else its gonna cost ya." His assailant said in a very gruff and manly voice. "Well sir unlike you I can't stand idly by while someone messes with my friend.!" Hikaru replied hotly.

"You mean that traitor Torsin that gutless coward desers........". The man would have finished saying what he had to say, but his mouth was outher wised occupied as Hikaru's fist slammed into the side of his jaw. The look on Hikaru's face was one of utter rage that seemed completely alien on his pale face. "Don't you ever disrespect my friends again.!" bring in his second fist Hikaru buried it in the man's gut before throwing him over his head , and down into the ground hard, and the last thing he saw before he was knock unconscious was Hikaru's elbow slamming into his face shattering his nose, and jaw.

While the man laid on the ground Hikaru's mood did a 180 , and he was back to his regular don't give a care in the world. Running his hand through his hair Hikaru sighed as he headed for the dojo wanting to pick up with his training where he had left off before that man had insulted his friend, and mentor.

Florian smiled at her explanation. She had made it clear and concise and easy for him to understand. "I see. Then ramble you do not." Nodding at what he'd just made into fact, Florian in truth did not see her talking as rambling. If anything, she just seemed nervous and the situation more than justified nerves. One thing, however, seemed to bother him, her apologies. Hirimi apologized far too much, even if she didn't outwardly say it, she seemed to reach out with her curiosity and then pull back almost instantaneously feeling she'd overstepped an invisible boundary. "Why do you do that? You ask something but then you say I do not have to answer. Of course I must answer. If not, then you will never know." Florian had surprised himself at how childish his observation had been. In his own insecurity he motioned with his hand, as if waving off the thought. It lacked importance and seemed confrontational. He didn't care so much that Hirimi did this out of nature but he simply wished to understand why. Nevertheless, it wasn't important to figure out.

"I was born in Deu- Germany. I was born in Germany." Florian turned towards Hirimi, his head cocking oddly as he kept his chin rested on his knees. The woman's inquiry had piqued his interest. The fact that she wanted to know more about him personally instantly won her bonus points. So many people in this world simply did not care but she did. Even if it were out of plain curiosity, Hirimi wished to learn more about him. "I lived during what my people called the 'Kalter Krieg' or what the rest of the world called the 'Cold War'." Florian had little idea as to Hirimi's age and he was unsure as to whether or not she'd known of the Cold War. He hoped that by giving her a time of reference that she might get an idea for how he'd lived without him having to go into explicit detail.

The conversation's pace was slow and seemed to die down for several moments before being struck up again. To many people it would have appeared "awkward" and even forced but for Florian this was normal. He appreciated the act that Hirimi wasn't pushing too hard to try to keep the flow going and that she only spoke when she had something of substance to say or ask. In this way, the rather quiet and dragging conversation had depth.

Now in his own attempt to reach out, Florian brought his gaze from Hirimi's face and focused into her eyes, "tell me of yourself." There was a genuine curiosity from Florian in this instance. While he wasn't too apt to sharing his life story and pouring his heart out to this girl, he had hoped that she might be a bit more inclined. If not, he'd understand but it worth a try to get to know more about her.
