So are they all religious bigots?
  Most of them.
  A few maybe.
I'd have to question them before deciding.
  I don't know/don't care.

You can't support them because they littered your library with pro-gay media?

It would irritate the hell out of me too but if it's helping out some of the kids who for so long have been told that there's something wrong with them, that they aren't good enough than I'm all for it.

I don't think it's the right way to help them. And yeah, if those books are only there to annoy people, then I wouldn't support it.

What's the right way?

I'm not gonna say, cause I'd get jumped on...

It's called a debate guild for a reason. Either you tell what you think or don't. However, you wont get your points across silently. It is worse to be silent, actually, because it makes us think you have an opinion you know is wrong.

I can only deal with being told I'm wrong so many times before I decide it's not worth it. I'm not gonna argue against 3 or 4 people at a time. Until it gets a little less one sided, I'm going on a long break, with some nice aspirin.

Edit: And when I think I'm wrong, I'll admit it. This argument is giving me a real headache though, and I really hate it considering no one really gives a damn what I think anyway.

If your argument is solid, you have nothing to worry about no matter how many people there are.

We debate because we seek what religion tries to make, a better understanding with life.
If you believe in an opinion and you think it is true to the VERY end then go along with it. However, if people are arguing against you about it then that must mean there is something wrong or else people would not be trying to reason with you on this subject. Don't think of it like an attack, but more of a civil chat at the dinner table.

That only works when the argument is completely clear cut, and both sides are coming from the same place. It only works when there's one variable.

It's not that complex. If you can say your idea, then people will listen and if it is right then people will agree. If people disagree, that doesn't make it wrong but it probably isn't right. Point being, you can't just abandon yourself here and now or else you'll have a lesser opinion then actually giving your opinion.

It doesn't feel like that, and I'm not going to be as civil as I should be if I keep posting in this topic. I'll probably come back when I don't have a headache. ><

Point is, your stuck in what we call The War, if you leave then you lost the argument and all of your points are lost unless you continue.

So I'm wrong because I don't feel like addressing three long, separate posts at this point, because I don't want to deal with this while I have a headache, and because I can't convince anyone because you're all coming from a different place then I am? Cut me some slack.

Poorest excuse I ever heard. If you had such a bad headache, take advil or something and come back. Don't just leave forever because your head hurts and your being attacked by multiple people.
Tell me this atleast so I can have an understanding of what you want to do, I'll make it multiple choice:
[] Stop the spread of homosexuality
[] Have homosexuals pray to not be sexual
[] Advertise anti-homosexuality

The list can go on and they all sound pretty bad.
I'm starting to think, however, that your arguing against homosexuality for no reason since you never answered my question as to WHY you think god doesn't like homosexuals.

( Totally throw out the phrase "God loves everyone" then. )

Oh, I'm sorry I tried to argue to your sister on a subject she brought up. I apologize for being as calm as I could and ask nicely on her ideals. I'm SUCH a bad person. D:

k, so that aside....

I have yet to hear an argument against gay marriage that is not either grounded in religious beliefs or personal preference (usually leading back to religious beliefs)
so, I will say that MOST are related to religion out of the ones I have heard. VERY FEW are not.
Can someone show me a sample where the argument is either written by an atheist or does not use their faith as their reason towards being against gay marriage?

It would irritate the hell out of me too but if it's helping out some of the kids who for so long have been told that there's something wrong with them, that they aren't good enough than I'm all for it.

I don't think it's the right way to help them. And yeah, if those books are only there to annoy people, then I wouldn't support it.

Either way, it would make a bad argument since most religions don't really hate homosexuality and anything not religious is usually debunkable.
