"Actually, I have yet to run into a group of people all in one place. Nineteen huh..." Whatever, as long as Jamal kept putting out Antony was happy.

She mirrored his expression, lips curling into a smirk, "It means we're getting trashed, laid, and something will be lit on fire." Just as long as her duplex didn't go down in flames.

It soon came to her attention that she could no longer feel the legs underneath her rear, and with a look of irritation towards the offending limbs, Antony moved them out from under her. She pushed her sketchbooks aside on the coffee table and propped her heels up, making a weird face at the pinpricks that soon spread uncomfortably.

"You'll prolly run inta a group sooner o' lata'. Dat Ambrose b*****d always got people 'round him, it seems. Prolly cause he's onna da peeps who been herr da longest. They all thinkin' he must know ev'rythin'." It was obvious that Jamal didn't have the highest regard for the wolfman right now...a shame considering they had been on alright terms before the outburst in the cafeteria. "And as fo' New Years, I was gonna say...you only say trashed 'n laid, then dat's jus' like any otha' night. I could go fo' burnin' sumthin' down though. Maybe the Doc's lab." He go a look of wistful thinking on his face for a moment, then sighed. "Too bad dat's prolly impossible since there be ********' cameras EV'RYWHERE."

As she got comfortable, his eyes settled on the sketchbooks, which he had just noticed. He remembered that she had said she was a tattoo artist...could that be some of her stuff?...too bad the island didn't have a place to get tattoos on it because he wouldn't mind a new addition to his own collection.

Jamal passed her a sidelong look, a brow lifting discretely. "I'd so love ta ******** wit' dat guy's mind...o' give him sumthin' worth watchin'. Whicheva. If he gonna look, might as well give him a good show." He absently wondered if Moreau had been looking in on Antony's first night. Hehehehe...

He took the sketchbook and opened the cover to start flipping the pages carefully, knowing that stuff like this generally had some sort of sentimental meaning with it. A lot of the stuff was so detailed that he was visibly impressed and a few of them were things that he actually did like enough to want to donate a patch of skin for them.

"s**t, I wish I could draw," he commented quietly, pausing on one rather intricate sketch.

"Then it's a date," she said cheerfully, obviously not meaning 'date' as anything beyond a future plan.

Antony actually blushed, and she silently wished she had long hair just so she could hide said flush behind him. "Eh... Well, it's just something I do. But it doesn't pay the bills, so I have..." Pausing, she corrected herself seconds later, "Had, rather... Two different jobs. One at Owl's, er the tattoo shop, and the other working as a mechanic. Cars and trucks mostly, but I'm pretty good at fixing most anything."

Jamal didn't notice her flushed face and if he had, he probably wouldn't have drawn attention to it. Instead he thumbed through the sketchbook more slowly, giving each a very critical look over. "I bet you put some of ya own work on peeps though, yeah? If you worked at a tattoo place...I know lots of guys in ma' gang used ta go in those places wit'out an idea of what ta get and ended up wit' s**t dat the artists made up. That's pretty ********' sweet if ya ask me. I wouldn't mind a coupla these on ma'self even, and I don't usually go fo' stuff like dat.."

He noticed her alteration, going from have to had, and flinced inwardly at it. Sounded like she accepted her fate.

She moved closer to him so that she was able to see the sketchbook as he flipped through it, mind working a few things over when he said he'd like one. "I'd be wary to put something with too much color on you, because of your skintone. Personally, for darker skin tones I like intricate designs in shades of black, and maybe one or two accent colors, depending on the design and how dark the person's skin is..."

Antony blinked before shaking her head, "Well there you go, in case you wanted a professional opinion." After that, she went quiet, content to simply watch him flip through the pages, but when he got to the one she had been looking at earlier, she averted her eyes. No need to get all sentimental now right?

Jamal nodded some as she said her piece, finding some of it to be stuff he'd heard before from tattoo experts in his gang. "Yeah...I could see dat bein' right...prolly why I got da tribals and s**t I got now, he said, pausing then on the sketch of Owl.

He knew it obviously wasn't a tattoo just by the subject manner (even though he HAD seen some weird a** s**t on people). He glanced over to Antony to get an explaination, but her averted eyes again made him decide not to ask further. The sketchbooks were of a life before the island, so certainly there had to be something about them that brought back memories that she might not rather deal with right then. Still, he couldn't help but be curious, which showed plainly on his face as he turned the page so that picture was no longer visible and finished browsing in silence.

She silently thanked him when he didn't ask her outright, but sighed when she saw his face. "It's... Complicated," she said in a pitiful explanation. Her hands both went behind her head to run through her hair from back to front as she contemplated going further, hating to give half assed answers. Even if he hadn't asked a question.

"Um," she started off, carefully taking the sketchbook from him and flipping back to the picture in question. Her eyes got a sort of far off look before she suddenly shut the sketch book and tossed it back on the coffee table.

"Good memories... And that's all they'll be..." This seemed to be spoken to herself instead of to Jamal, but she soon glanced over at her guest. "That... would be Owl."

It slipped Antony's mind to mention that Owl was, in fact, married or any of the details of her and Owl's relationship actually. Not unless he had noticed the wedding band in the sketch.

Jamal hadn't really expected any sort of answer to his unasked question, so when she did grant him a little bit of detail, he nodded and accepted it appreciately. She didn't have to say anything, but she did.

"Ev'rythin's always complicated," he mused aloud, but didn't really want to pry in farther into her life if she didn't want to talk about it. There was plenty about his life he didn't feel like talking about and figured it would only be fair for her to turn the tables on him some day if he got nosy. "Don't worry 'bout explainin' nuthin'. It ain't none of ma' business anyway."

He was trying very hard to keep his thought away from his own past...what he left behind...but it was difficult to do so when you were looking through other people's memories and things just sort of related to stuff you once knew about.

"Yeah..." Antony agreed with him, trailing off and watching him quietly until the awkward silence began to bother her. "I think being drunk is the only thing that would make dealing with... this and that," she waved her hand, referring to the now and the past, respectively. "Any easier to talk about..."

After yet more silence, Antony was tired of thinking about all this and turned to Jamal, serious expression on her face. "Kiss me."

It wasn't a request, it was a command, and her tone made it clear that she no longer wanted to think about the island and all that s**t. Right now, she wanted to forget, and she knew drinking and smoking would only make it worse today.

So, she turned to the next best thing, physical contact.

"Sounds about right," he said in agreement once again. Being drunk and high were always a good way to ease the pain...

Or they could just skip that whole part and go right for option three, as it seemed that was Antony's thinking. The way she said "Kiss Me" was almost rude and very no-nonsense...understandable, but somewhat unexpected.

However Jamal wasn't one to refuse a kiss request, especially since he too needed to get his mind off things thanks to Antony's minor trip down memory lane. He wanted to forget that he had a past completely...maybe that would make it alright to have to live on this island. To have nothing to remember.

She was already sitting close as it was, so all he really needed to do was tilt his chin down just a little and lean in slightly until their lips connected. His arms instinctively wrapped about her waist to pull her closer.

She helped him move her closer by shifting into his lap as best as she could with them on the couch. Tilting her head and leaning up to deepen the kiss, her right hand instinctively went to the back of his neck to pull him closer, if possible.

Her other hand was holding onto his bicep for leverage and balance.

Antony was focusing entirely on him, figuring that this way, there wouldn't be a chance for her to think of anything else. It was selfish, but she didn't think that Jamal was the type of guy that would be angry if a woman used him for sex.

If anyone thought that Jamal cared that he was being used...well...they are so wrong.

As she shifted into his lap, he didn't have to worry so much about pulling her closer since she was doing that just fine on her own. Instead he let one hand skim down to the small of her back, then down to the top of her jeans while the other went north up her spine and shoulder.

The deepening kiss made his neck tingle pleasantly, his lips sharing the same sensation as he fought to meet every inch of her mouth with his own, pausing to nibble once or twice on her bottom lip as he felt a warm flush pass over his skin.

She followed his lead, not minding one bit that he was more so in control of the situation than she was. In fact, Antony quite liked it.

After a while, she pulled back to catch her breath, taking the opportunity to shed herself of the tank top while she was at it. It was discarded somewhere across the room.

Her left hand trailed down his arm, moving to creep under the front hem of his tank and tugging upwards at the fabric. This so had to go.
