zabazor Sam: I am glad that the vision board was such a success for you. It tends to be. You sound like you did a great job, but I have to ask...Why all of the sex? I like sex. Sex is good. My altar has a ceramic naked female figure from just below the breast to above the knee and a glass d***o...among other things, of course. Sex is a religious aspect in my personal practice, much like family is (though never together!) and even though I may not religiously practice with others while having sex, I use sex in my practice. smile

Okay, to each his own. I am glad that you feel comfortable enough to share this with me.
Everyone now, back to your assignments. The summer session is on and I do not want to see anyone "falling short" because of my class.

Sorry that I'm a little slow in classes, Professor. I have college classes and sometimes I'm just so wiped that I can't think well enough to do MORE homework. I'm working on narrowing my goals down and then I'll post them up before I start my board. (I bought a black poster board for it too!)

Oh, do not worry about being a little late. I understand that college education comes before extra curricular education. I am just happy to know that I have active students who want to move forward. It keeps me going.

Lesson 6 - Reviewing the Basics
Congratulations. If you have made it this far you have completed the first unit of Tools for Change. But before we move onto a new lesson, I would like us to review what we have learned so far. This unit is the foundation for everything you will be learning from this class here after, so this is important.
Review First we learned a little bit about Goals. We learned that goals work best when they are specific. We also created our own goals and learned how we can create good, strong, healthy goals. Then we moved onto the Law of Attraction. We learned that the universe can give you exactly what you want, you only have to know how to ask it. We learned that the universe wants balance, and if it thinks it is out of balance it will correct itself. Next order of business was Action. We discussed that action is necessary. Life wont just change because you have a big enough want, you need to get out there and give the universe opportunities to change. After dabbling with the Law of Attraction and understanding most of its core functions, we were ready to learn one of the potent secret that unlocks it's fullest potential. We worked on Like attracts Like. If we want something, we have to act and feel in such a way that will help draw that to us. Finally we learned how to Mood Modify, a very important skill which helps you with the lesson Like Attracts Like. And that my friends covers all of the information in this unit.
Feel free to read through and re-do Assignment and Lessons from this unit. Remember, practice makes Perfect.

Assignment 2 - Goal Seeking Questions - Reassessment
I've narrowed down the goals that I'm serious about to these five.
1. I want to take better control of my temper and bad attitude so that I don’t hurt the people I love with my words and actions. I’m going to accomplish this by recognizing when I’m starting to get frustrated, taking a deep breath and taking a second to step back from the situation before I engage once again.
2. I really want to find a way to manage these feelings of depression and hopelessness that I feel. I would also like to cease binge eating whenever I get depressed. Every time that I get these feelings I’m going to reach for my journal and a piece of gum. Writing down and working through my feelings should help manage them and chewing gum should curb my appetite until my next meal, so I don’t binge eat.
3. I want to lose weight so that I weigh anywhere from 130 pounds to 155 pounds and I’m going to cut sweets out of my diet for the most part. One day out of the week, Saturday, I will allow myself to have one sweet so that I don’t cave and over do it. But I will cut soda from my diet completely and instead drink more water and juice. Along with this I will exercise for 30 minutes a day at least.
4. I want to be more secure in my self esteem. I’m going to accomplish this goal by writing down one thing a week that I like about myself and that others say they like about me too.
5. I want to graduate from college in the winter of 2013 with my degree in Fashion Design. I’m going to get there by doing all my assignments and turning them in on time. That way I’ll be sure to pass all my classes and keep climbing up that ladder to becoming a Fashion Designer.

Silver Haruta: I am sorry that I have taken so long to respond. I apologize. As for this assignment, it is golden. Most students just talked about one goal and related the questions to it. You actually changed five goals. That was amazing. Also you had a few good points. Chewing gum to curb your apatite was genius. Keep up the outstanding work.

SwirlingDark: Welcome to the class. Your goals sound great, you are very ambitious. I have to say that they are a little shallow, but that is what the 2nd assignment normally fixes. Keep up with your assignments and I wish you all the luck in changing your situation. I know you can do it as long as you put forth the effort.

zabazor SwirlingDark: Welcome to the class. Your goals sound great, you are very ambitious. I have to say that they are a little shallow, but that is what the 2nd assignment normally fixes. Keep up with your assignments and I wish you all the luck in changing your situation. I know you can do it as long as you put forth the effort. I'm sorry, but I take issue with that sentiment. I would like to know how "I want to get fit" is any more shallow than "I want to lose weight". I would like to know how "I want to take up an Apprenticeship" is any more shallow than "I want to take up x hobby". Yes, they are aimed more at the more mudane side of life, but that does not mean they are shallow. They are all huge things for me as someone who has never been fit, liked, confident, independant or having a direction.
I'm actually rather offended that you made that judgement of me.

Zab, I'm afraid I have to jump in here.
Everybody has different goals. You can't just label somebody as shallow for the decisions they've made about what they want to do in their life.
You've not made these sort of comments about anybody else's goal list, and I think it's unfair that you're doing this to SwirlingDark. Her goals are her own choice.
I'd like to hear what of her answers you see as shallow. All I see is somebody who has quite typical answers. Many people have goals like that. I also have a goal to be more confident, to get a place of my own and to lose weight, to learn.

Let me explain. My choice of words were poor. I forgot the negativity that the word shallow has. What I meant is that they were not as specific as they can be. If you want to lose weight, how much? If you want to be an apprentice, of what? I only meant to be more specific and less vague. I by no means think that your goals are self centered or poor choices. That was the wrong meaning of shallow, and I apologize for that misconception. I should have caught that ahead of time. I am sick at the moment with a terrible cold, not that I can blame an illness for carelessness, I should have reviewed my post before I posted it.
More than anything I was trying to give you a boost on the next assignment. Assignment 1:2 focuses on a few questions that we should ask ourselves before we create goals in order to make them practical, attainable, and measurable.
I sincerely apologize if I have offended you in any way, and I would completely understand if you do not wish to continue my class any further. I do, however, hope that you do stick with the class because I fell that it may help you reach your goals.
