Aakosir turned a impatient look on Iofiel. "You can go ahead and play along with them. I, for one, will never be like them. They do not deserve their place in nature. What have they to show for it? Nothing. They just breed and destroy." She looked around her precious forest. "Some day this might be gone." She said quietly, realizing it was the truth.

Iofiel gasped in horror, and stood firm, leaving Sam's arm to fall flat. "And how much faster will this be gone, if we don't show that we may have power? If we show ourselves as Lycans, they will kill us, tear down what rest of the forest we have. But if we charade as humans, how much more power will they give us? An infinite amount? Enough to talk civilized with? I can promise you this much, you are the experienced one, Aakosir, but I know that if we continue living as outcasts this will be gone, and we will have no chance to stop it." Tears were welling up in Iofiel's eyes, and she had to rip off her kimono and transform. Her wolf was weeping through a long, mourning whine, while she crouched and begged at Aakosir's still human-like feet. Her chocolate brown eyes gazed up, hoping she could try one more time to convince her.

"Try as you like, you will not change my mind on this matter. I gave you permission to build this house in my woods. Do not ask me to become a human." Aakosir said, looking down her nose at Iofiel. "I do not want to argue about this anymore." She said as she turned and walked away. She had no specific destination set, she just needed to walk and think.

Sam didn't follow, knowing it would do no good. They would not convince her to change anymore than she could convince him to change his ways. There was just no way. So he crouched down and petted Iofiel, conforting her.

Anna suddenly appeared at Aakosir's side, skipping in the moonlight. "Hey there miss Wolf Lady! Why dont you want to blend in with the humans? Its real easy and not at all hard you know. Like hiding in sheep's clothing from those stories that Brother Samual reads to me! Plus they are not all bad. I have lots of Human friends." Anna's innocent face beamed up at her, seeming to shine in the moonlight. She was well over 60, but still acted much like a child. She knew very much from her many years of studying but chose to remain in high school. She skipped a bit ahead of Aakosir and turned around suddenly. "So Miss Wolf Lady, we can all still be wolves while tricking those silly Sheep-Humans into thinking we are one of them! My Brother will protect us all too, he has lived much, much longer than I so he knows a lot about how to trick the humans. You will still stay with us right?" Her little face turning into a pouting look as she ran up and threw her arms around Aaskosir, burying her face in her belly. "Please dont go. We can all live here and be happy! Brother has not been happy for a long time because of our Fa- I mean that one guy who hurt Sam a lot. Its nice to see him happy again." Tears began to well in her eyes as she remembered all that had happened. She was kept locked up for the first few years until she stopped growing. She heard Sam's screams all the time and when she was let out, Sam looked at her in horror and immedietly started growling at their Father. "Down you mutt! This is your sister, Anna. You remember her dont you? I will teach her as I taught you, with Fear!" her Father lashed out at her with a barbed whip, making her scream with pain. And that is when she heard the horrible roar that seemed to shake the very wood under her. She didn't remember or see much of what happened next, it was just so fast. When she let go of her ears and opened her eyes, blood was everywhere and Sam was in his human form, looking down at the mutilated corpse of their Father. When he turned to look at her, it was the only time she was truly afraid of Sam. After that he took her away to be safe. Anna hadn't noticed that she was sobbing and shaking from the memory. But she couldn't stop now.

Iofiel saw how much it pained Sam to see Aakosir go, and so, with a hug and a kiss on the cheek to Sam, she began to follow her and Anna. She skipped between the trees, human, and began to listen to the begging, shaking Anna. It pained her to see Anna shake so. Iofiel had no idea what Aakosir thought of this, but if Iofiel were Aakosir, she would accept that everyone would miss her.

Aakosir stopped and looked at Anna, curiously. "You know..." She started, "I have never had pups of my own." She knelt down and put a hand on Anna's face to wipe away the tears. She pulled her lips tight with an odd expression, "I do not plan to leave. I merely needed to think. With each passing year the humans take more of my forest. Soon, I fear, there will be nothing but a small patch left. I do not wish to change my nature, but I accept that I might have to." She looked into Anna's bright eyes hoping to reassure her.

More tears pushed out of her eyes, but now Anna was smiling a huge smile. She launched into Aakosir's arms and held on for dear life. She hadn't know how alone she really felt untill they met these people. She longed of a family and now she had one. "I knew you would stay with me! Now we can have all kinds of fun and keep our forest extra safe! Thank you!" Anna nuzzled Askosir's face and skipped off into the night, her peeling laughter echoing dreamingly through the moonlit forest.
Sam had watched the whole ordeal, forced to remember that time again. Only he had a longer memory that Anna and had to literaly walk away deeper into the froest for fear her would rip everything around him to shreds. The rage, fear, and hate welled up inside him from those many years of that foul beast destroying his life. On the outside, Sam looked tight and controled, but he was just on the edge of loseing all of that.

Aakosir was a little dumbstruck at the sudden show of affection. She knelt there for a few moments to gather her thoughts that were so scattered. After a few moments she stood and looked around. She could have sworn she smelled Sam and Iofiel, but she did not see them. Or even any traces that they had been around. She looked to the moon and silently cried to her, What have we done to deserve this? I have been loyal to you. She was suddenly angered. She did not understand why Luna had become so distant and cold. Maybe she had dissapeared, for good. And that was the reason the forest was no longer protected by anyone other than her and Iofiel. She sighed and headed to where Iofiel had been. She did not expect to find her there, but went anyway.

Iofiel knew Aakosir would be looking for her again, so she kept just ahead of her such that she was where Aakosir would expect her to be, looking as if she hadn't moved. "So... I just happened to follow you and Anna..." Iofiel began, smiling. Aakosir must have known what Iofiel was grinning about, and Iofiel expected a nod. Things were finally turning around.

Aakosir noded, a silent "oh" on her lips. She took a deep breath, smelling her forest. "I really do not want to lose this." She said. She was getting older, but would be around for, maybe, another hundred years yet. She looked at Iofiel, not of her blood line. It bothered her that she had had no cubs. She hadn't found another male to even express a future with. Sam was too young and obviously interested in Iofiel. She was a little jealous of Iofiel, but she understood. Someone more of her age would be appropriate. Not a young pup.

Iofiel saw the sadness in Aakosir's eyes. She was getting old. And she was the one who would give her life for this forest. And now, she was given an opportunity to save all of this. Iofiel had no idea why Aakosir would be so upset. "Aakosir, What's wrong?" Iofiel cocked her braided ears, her face printed with worry.

"Noting you need to concern yourself with, young one." She said, looking at Iofiel. "Just the thoughts of an old soul. You will learn somelessons in your time. I have learned mine, but am having a hard time applying them to this modern time."

"Oh.... Okay. I just wish I could help." Iofiel looked down at her feet, studying her humanoid features, laughing. It was comical, having such human features. Iofiel heard a rustle in the bushes, probably Sam. Still looking down, she cocked her ears, and smelled a Lycan. Yep, definitely Sam or Anna.
