Ni kishi noded his head and sat down next to her and begain gnawing on the other end of the fish. "thank you"

"no thankyou " she said with a smile " you caught it not me " she fininshed her fill and then stood and stretched. then she shook the sand from her coat and started toward home " are you ready to go back now?"

Ni kishi finished his half and got up as well shaking off the sand and salt water before noding "yea lets head back to the den its getting pretty late." the sun was already in its motion to begin setting as oranges and reds crossed through the skies. it wasn't long before they came across the river again where Ni Kishi stoped to wash off any left over sand and salt water as well as get a drink.

she was well ahead of him on the washing off the sand and salt water. she loved to go there but hated the sandy saltiness of it. and she also took a real long drink before heading the last few yards to the den. when she got there she went to the back side and looked around thinking about what he had said earlier. if he had intended to have kits here he was mad they could easily fall off the egde where the outer look was and the leaf pile. if she did stay with him she would have to talk to hm about the drop she wasnt going to loose her kits to something as awfull as that. she look over her shoulder as he came up behind her. she turned to him and kissed his cheek, which still tasted of salt water. but she didnt mind. " i had fun today"

Ni Kishi returned the kiss and noded "I'm glad I had fun to. but its good to be home. you know we could sleep either here or in one of the other parts of my den where it could help keep us warm tonight, I smell a rain storm coming in." he said as he poked his nose out of the canope and into the air before retracting it.

she siffed the night air and sure enough she could smell rain too. " yea lets go in tonight im already getting cold" she turned to follow him in to a deeper part and curled up in a tight ball to keep warm. hoping he would curl up next to each other.

Ni Kishi found him self curling up next to her in one of the other rooms as he pulled a large leaf over the entrance to keep it from flooding, keep preditors out, and keep the heat in, curling up next to her he placed his tail over hers and nuzzled her cheek.

as she woke she heard a strange sound. she listened but couldn't make it out. she quietly got up and walked t the entrance and moved the leaf "O MY!" she exclaimed as a wave of water washed over her and rushing towards him. the den had flooded in the night and the water was heading straight toward Ni Kishi " O MY NI KISHI WAKE UP!" she quickly ran over and shoved him hard to wake him.

Ni Kishi woke quickly as she hit him "oww what the? whats up?" he said as he got his barrings, his eyes widening as he saw the water now filling the room, "oh thats whats up... alright don't panic follow me." he said calmly as he move forward into the water and making a left, "grab hold of my tail I'll lead us out." he said before more water splashed upagainst his chest now nearly flooding the entire den.

quickly grabbing his tail they hurried out of the den. when they got outside they saw that it was flooding all around and still pouring down rain she looked toward the what was small river but it was no longer small it had flooded its banks and now the forest. " we need to head for the high ground" her den was on the high ground " this way she said running for her life back the way they had come the day they met "hurry its rising fast"

Ni Kishi wasted no time in following her lead the two ran full pace through the woods one after the other, the waters still rising, "they've never risen this high before I don't understand as to why this is happening." he said as thunder clashed around them.

"it is the rain. it never rained this hard this long." she continued to run until they came to a huge hill then she turned slightly and ran up the side of the hill as she came to the top she ran down the other side ans there was another hill twice as big as the last. " quick up there" she said pointing with her tail "we'll be safe there" she had built her den here for the veiw but now she realized that it was good luck cause the water would never reach this hight. she got to the top and turned and went under a near by tree and there was her den" we'll be safe here the water will never reach up here." she said turning to nuzzle his side.

Ni Kishi ran as fast as he could keeping up with her as she entered her den, as soon as he was in he shook off his wet coat, "phew good thing you found this place, but how did you know about it?" he said nuzzling her back.

she looked at him and smiled "this is my den i biult it here for the veiw but now im really glad because it is so far from the rain." she went to the back enteance and looked out down the hill. it was still pooring and she could see the 'stream' on this side rising really fast it was no longer a stream but a rushing river. this was not good luckly it wouldnt reach here but it was still very very bad. she was still looking when a huge bolt of lighting struck down by the stream with a huge bang on that note she went back inside it was not a goood time to be outside. she went and checked the other side too and the water was starting to podle inbetween the 2 hills but it would take days for it to reach them. " it doesnt look like its going to stop anytime soon" she said as she came back to Ni Kishi. she walked up and gave him a kiss on the cheek. she loved him but she would never tell she would wait to see how he felt first. she wouldnt risk getting hurt and shot down she was almost possitive that he felt the same but there was no garrenty. the rain continued and the thunder rolled. she looked at him and smiled " so what do you want to do now? this weather isn't good for much. and we cant hunt till this is over and another thing there will be alot of trouble from this mess. many animals will drown or run far from here. there is definatly going to be a food shortage after this mess." she smiled again just happy to be with he new friend and hopefully her new mate but that all depended on him now.
