John smiled in spite of himself. "You really don't know who you're dealing with, do you? I fought off legions of White Fang mobile dolls, armed only with a Leo dobergun. I've been in this line of work for years, and I've got more skill than you two realize. John dodged the second rocket and disappeared in a flash to stand on the other side of Nisus. He flipped a beam shoto around and plunged it downward, attempting to disable Nisus' right leg.

Chris smiled. "Where ya lookin'?" Chris was behind him in a blink and jabbed him in the back sending several nanites to attack his mobility. "It seems you also don't know who your dealing. I'm no mere Backdraft pilot. I am the leader of the entire Backdraft. I have been piloting gundams since I was 12 years old. I mastered all aspects of gundam fighting and now your anti-gundam will have to put up with not just my physical assault but your systems will be assaulted by my nanites."

Al rolled his eyes. Chris was always one for the dramatic flare. He also liked to show off alot but everything he was saying was true. Even if John was an ace pilot Al didn't think he would win. Al shot another rocket.

Nick was deep in thought. If Chris always knew everything about Backdraft and where they were than...Nick gasped. "Kamon what if Chris wasn't just another gundam pilot? What if he was...well you know; Part of Backdraft the entire time? What if he was their leader? Wouldn't that mean that he was the reason why Zero, Epyon, Fuzion, and Dark Empros were destroyed? Tell me did he ever disappear to somewhere secret?"

"I've detected nanites, penetrating my armor. You should already know I'm prepared for nearly anything." John typed furiously on a small keypad that opened on his command. When he finished, all lights on Modus Operandi went out as the hard lines of the electrical connections seperated, preventing power surges. When the shutdown was finished, a subsystem released a small EMP, frying the invading nanites and much of Nisus' subsystems. When the smoke cleared, the hard connections within Modus' frame reestablished themselves, and the machine reawakened. "Now, I must bid you adieu for now. Since you're using offensive nanites, I would assume you are also using defensive nanites. I would also assume that the defensive nanites are already repairing the electrical damage I have just done. On that note, I'll leave you two alone, then. I've got to assure the safety of my men, and I'm afraid my EMP stunt will only work once, until I can resupply. So I will face you again when I have a better defense against such things. Goodbye to you, gents!" While the Modus Operandi was disabled, a rocket from the enemy Gundam struck the shoulder, and dealt quite a bit of damage. John jettisoned the compromised armor and darted away, evading rockets as he went.

"Kamon don't you see the severaty of this? If Chris is the leader of Backdraft then wouldn't that mean he's been pulling the strings ever since he met you? He has all the blue prints and details of everyone of your Zero suits. Zero Raikou, Taikou Arashi, and Yaiba. He knows everything about each one. Now I see why he's so dangerous." Nick landed and looked as Kamon got out Yaiba. He was thinking. If Chris had all the plans and details then he knows everything about them. But that wouldn't explain why he would destroy them instead of make a gundam stronger than them. Unless...Chris was afraid of them and what they could do. Maybe he still was. "Hey Kamon. Have you ever thought that Chris may be afraid of Zero?"

Chris rubbed the peach fuzz on his chin in thought. Chris would have to improve on Nisus to make for a better challenge for this new enemy.

"You ok brother?" Al had flown up to Chris just when all of Nisus' systems cam bakc online.

"It seems I have underestimated this one. Next time I won't hold back." Chris began to fly back towards his ship.

"So we just gonna let him go?" Al was a bit surprised.

"Yup. More than likely he'll be found or find Kamon and the others and eventually will be back." Chris knew eventually John would be back. He wasn't that worried about it.

((I suppose it does. Where did the names come from? Modus Operandi is Latin for "a means to an end"))

Adalwulf snored lightly, feet propped up on the control systems for Lillia. She was practically his home anyway, he never had any place to sleep or live. And although he apparently did now, old habits died hard. Soft lights blinked in the cockpit, but he wasn't disturbed by any of them. The only thing that woke him up was Kamon and Nick going out of the hangar. Groaning, he was woken up, and he peered at the bright light of his open laptop. The few windows that were open had stats on the gundam Nick had asked him to look at. He dropped his face in his hand. He'd forgotten to show them to him, now he would have to wait for him to come back. And find some alcohol, he thought to himself. And breakfast...
