(Oh, a quick hint, from one mod to another: The topic you made for the plot has a poll, but because you locked it, the poll is closed with only your vote. You should figure out whether you want to risk unlocking it or putting the poll elsewhere.)
@Tad: Going off of Xeion's last post, I'd say that you'd strain yourself by raising your defense in a hasty way or something to that effect. I dunno if they'd jump in after you, though... These are supposed to intelligent enemies, so I don't think they'd follow on a low roll (that'd be like you defending yourself without catching them off-guard with the counter).
My friends elsewhere online asked me to learn DnD to play with them, so I'm kinda learning how to integrate dice and luck with standard RP. I think it's good for an RPer to learn that kind of thing.

Rolling implies that you've attacked. As Xeion said, you might not get hurt, but you'll suffer some other consequence in return if you roll low.

Besides, if you feel like you're character's taking too much of a beating, you can always just post a retreat. If not, just don't attack. The knights after all, as mentioned in the description, are only attacking because they see your RPC as a threat. If they don't, they won't attack. 3nodding

If they attack if your a severe threat, wouldnt that mean they would continue to attack me even if i withdraw? I just threw about 12 bombs at them. When is that never threatening?

I really want to steal a redeemer now. Use it as my off-hand weapon. Do the redeemers change colours too? Jan-san Well, this is Xeion's thing, but when you gamble, you gotta be prepared to lose... Besides, after a 96 on my first attack, I'm expecting the next few rolls to be spectacularly BAD. Nah this is the luck of the Touhou Fans. You see. I rolled a 80-something and a 90-something. At the same time. And got a perfect attack in. It was, Paarfekto.
