Balon changed his course and walked off the path again. The next closest kingdom that might higher him was Cirith. There was no point in staying in a place that didn't want your help. Besides, he enjoyed walking through the forests more than on the main roads.

Cam looked at him, perplexed. "But it would probably suit you more than the library position you hold now. You do not look like a librarian's apprentice. And...I've been looking around for a person to help me navigate alone, as I have a bit of trouble." she said. It was that, and the fact that there seemed to be traps everytime she tried to gain her room within the castle.
"There's a chance. To...fight back." she whispered enough so he would hear it. "I think you understand what I mean, yes?" she said to him in curiosity. "And it's the least I can do, for causing you so much trouble."

What was he? Too grouchy for an assistant librarian? There were other librarians that were grouchier. One obvious example was the elderly head librarian. "Don't judge a book by its cover," Dais said in response to Cam's remark that he didn't look like a librarian's apprentice.
He was not about to be lectured or pulled in by a young girl who didn't seem to be mature enough and really was probably in no position to lecture him. If this girl was helping Amaya, Amaya was going to need the most help she could get.
"And no, I don't understand what you mean."

"No no. I'm not judging by looks. I'm judging by spirit. Your aura in other words." she said to him. She stood up and went to him, looking him in the eye within seriousness. Cam was known for her judgment, and this she knew she was right on. "I do not mean to sound like I am scolding you. I couldn't scold anybody who has been forgiving to me, helped me, and let me be with his ferret all in one day." noting the little ball of fluff ontop of her head.
"I'm one of Amaya's top advisers." she said to him quietly. "And I think you might be able to help fight back." she said to him. "You'd recieve pay like I would, and it would help to defeat...Him..." Cam couldn't say his name. "The Dark Lord." she said this so quietly it as almost inaudible to those who were around the two.
"I don't know how or why, but I just know. And I trust you." she felt silly saying such things. "And that's something etremely rare for me to do." she admitted to him.
She petted the ferret ontop of her head and looked up at him. "But I understand if you wish to stay. The journey is dangerous, and if you are worried for your safety it is understandable." she did mean this, not to be rude, but just to be knowing. Anybody would feel these feelings when faced with such a situation.

Unfortunately, Aldon had now decided to shove one paw in one bun and the other pun in the other and dance around, moving the buns.
To show him her so called trust, she had told him her position at Amaya's side. How thoughtful of her, Dais thought ironically. No, it could not happen now. It wasn't a matter of his safety.
At this point, Dais grabbed Aldon by the tail and pulled him out of Cam's hair and probably ruined Cam's buns partially because Aldon's paws were in them. Really, Aldon must like this girl's hairstyle...
"No thank you. I have other business to tend to," Dais said.

Balon looked up at the sun as he walked. It was getting later in the day now. Travelers usually didn't get much welcome in Cirith. Tt would be a good idea to check the places that were easier to get into. The closest nation to him besides Cirith would be Mererth. Traveling towards Mereth would also keep the sun out of his eyes.

As she walked out of the library, she let out a sigh. Then heading down the steps to go to the eatery she spoke of before .Just in case the guy actually took her up on her offer. Highly doubtful though. Aonair walked into a small building with plenty of candle lighting. It was relaxing and a mellow atmosphere. She went and sat herself at an empty table feeling awkward with a couples faces looking her way. She would wait. There wasn't anything else better to do at the moment.

Cam couldn't help but giggle a bit. "That tickles." she said quietly as he was pulled out of her hair. She went to tighten one of the buns up and then the other, except that the protrusion, or a horn like protrusion, shined forth from the bun. The other bun then fell completely apart, and quickly she put her hand over the horn like thing sticking from her head.
It was her most noticeable feature back in Gannel, and she prayed that the man hadn't recognized her. She knew that he must have seen the hornette by now so the best was to fix it back up within the bun. "Bu there's really no other person in this library besides you, me and the elder, yes?" she said to him.
"I can tell that you are not from around these parts. Trust me on this at least. It's just reconnaissance, but the Princess would really need it." she sighed and nodded to herself. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to press the issue. If you wish, I can just check out the book and leave." she said to him.
She hoped secretly that he would join forces, or at least think on it and then join. She knew that Amaya needed all the help she could get.

Aldon almost fought Dais when the man pulled the ferret out of Cam's hair, but after a few seconds he stopped. The ferret knew the game was over, and had been expecting it. So, he hopped onto a shelf and scurried off.
Dais had already suspected Cam's lineage, and hornettes only helped. He wasn't sure, but he wondered if she was one that he had heard of faintly. There had been someone let go by a lower officer in the assassins. He didn't know the particulars as they hadn't directly reported it to him. But he didn't show his knowledge openly to Cam. Inside, he laughed at the irony. It would be funny if she somehow figured out who he was. If she was the one he was thinking of, she had obviously left Gannel earlier than he had and ironically had stationed herself next to Amaya. Oh, the irony.
Dais chuckled. "You might have better luck with that fiesty mage out there. She's probably at that eatery." As your former superior...over your other superiors....I will consider my course of action. He looked away. "I will consider your request, and you will know my answer in time." Dais was certain he would be forced into the Altarion-Amaya triangle whether he liked it or not.

Cam smiled and bowed, thankful for the possibility being there now instead of a straight no. "Thank you." she said to him as she went back to the table.
She looked back at him and sighed a bit. "Though, I know you must be keeping a low profile though. It's rough." she said, having that experience herself. "But I assure you that eventually your fate will take over and bring you back to your original destiny. I know I'm a lot younger, and maybe what I say doesn't make sense, but its true. It's what brought me here."
She looked at him and chuckled a bit as well. "Though you are a lot more poised and graceful than I ever could be." she said.
Though there was irony in that statement. She was the human embodiment of a killing machine; she was trained and with that and experiments, the lab rat (her) became the wrath of the goddesses, and thus, was a powerful aid until they gave her the opportunity for escape. Cam, however, disregarded her past and talked about the present.

People just did not say stuff like that to Dais, not in Gannel, and not anywhere, with or without knowing his true identity. The girl was quite straightforward in her personality. Perhaps, there was hope of something more organized this time. The same personality could get them all killed rather quickly if they weren't careful.
"Think what you will." The assistant librarian said, making literally no comment about Cam's words. "You'd better run along now."

(well, the princess of Aduial and her body guard is on a path somewhere to meet centars. Cataclypsa, Scythe, and Kara's characters are in Cirith. Cataclypsa and Scythe's characters are in the library talking and Kara's character is somehwere in Cirith...not exactly sure where though. I am in the forest somwhere on the way teh Cirith. I don't think that much has actually happened yet though. I do know that Cataclypsa's character is trying to recrute Scythe's character for the princess of Aduial and that is about it.)
