"If it makes you feel better. All my family has disappeared. and my brother has apparently suffered a different fate than the rest. I haven't been in Semblance for seven years so I'm practically I newbie here too."
The boy held out his hand, "The name's Fen. What's yours?"

"Oh," she said "I'm Rose," she stood up and shook his hand.

"I'm terribly sorry to hear about your family, I don't have one, it has to be horrible for them to have just disappeared like that," she frowned. "I hope you can find them...Thanks for talking to me Fen," she smiled at him...." I really needed someone to cheer me up....."

She stood thinking for a moment then said, "So, that merchant is something else huh? To be honest I think him winning so much is purely luck today, after all your friend slipped in the mud, and that sword of yours....you very clearly haven't broken it in, so I wonder who is gonna win," she smiled at him again....

Fen gave a small laugh and scratched the back of his head. "People don't have the same tastes in entertainment in the outside world. Semblance's a bit old fashioned that way...I hope someone wins soon..."

Rose smiled "Yea me too, I used to live in Semblance when I was little...but I don't remember much about it at all..." she said with a confused look.... "seems like we are sorta in the same boat... erm well not quite but...."

she had decided she better just stop talking while she was ahead....

(OOC: o.O I hadn't intended for my character to be that open mouth insert foot type but I feel very much like that right now so I guess its leaking into her >.< isn't it lovely lol)

Ghent trudged along, burdened by his large sack of books. Despite having 4000 gold to spend, he retained ownership of 2500 of it. Obsessive as he was, he only bought tomes and scrolls concerning his most recent studies, martial arts and Calculus. Sadly, the town's bookstores were sold out of most books in these genres, and as such he only ended up buying 50 pounds of books for 1500 gold.

As he walked, nose buried in a martial arts scroll, he found himself surrounded by bright colors and loud noises. Ghent had entered the festival area, completely on accident.

Always one to apply what he knew, he took up position in a tree near some sparring booth. He wished to study fighting techniques as they are practiced, as they often differed from the techniques contained within printed materials.

"Free food sounds good." Orso said to himself. He took out some money from his pocket and handed it to Kyo. "Go get yourself that funnel cake then. And make sure to return the change.

Kyo Bell

"Thanks." Kyo sighed and counted out the money enough to get a funnel cake and gave Orso back the rest so he wouldn't have to make two trips. Quietly he walked over to the funnel cake stand and purchased the food. Taking a seat on a bench he began to eat his cake, getting a bit of powder on his cheek.

amazing...these people haven't been able to put a scratch on the man...I'm almost sorry for them... Ghent thought from his tree, having watched the salesman put down yet another challenger. so much needless violence and sadness...I wonder if I...NO..I am not picking a fight for the first time ever...but if I won then nobody else would be getting injured...GAH so confusing... he thought as he debated.

He eventually settled on learning more about this man. He and his pole, for he had carried the bags on it earlier, dropped from the tree; leaving the 50 pounds of books safely in a hole.
"Sir," he asked as he approached a nearby man, "Have you been watching this man fight?"

He continued to wait for this girl, whos name he figured out was Di and after afew moments he figured she was ready to go, in fact he noticed while he was waiting on her she was sitting behind her booth waiting on him, no wonder this was taking so long. "Miss Di! We're ready for you to play the game! The cost is 2,000 gold!" He called to her, still glowwing with his usual radience.

Di

Di perked up when she heard her name being called. "O-okay!" she called out to the salesman. She jumped over the top of her booth and began to make her way over to his booth.
"2,000 gold, was it?" she asked him, taking out a small coin purse and getting out the money.

Esper was intrigued by the idea of such a prize as the result of his favorite pass-time. ""That sounds pretty great," he replied.

The boy then noticed that a fight was about to begin. He began watching intently, waiting for the action to commence. In the meantime, he asked his new aquaintence, "and how big is the line for this little contest?"

Kerowyn Darkwolf smiled, the forest around her was visibly thinning which signaled that her destination was close at hand. Semblance, the mystical town that her father had told stories of by the fire to pass time. He said that her mother had come from here, but since her mother died when she was too little to remember she seemed as mystical a creature as this town did to Kerowyn.

Sounds of laughter drifted through the woods. As the woods thinned some more, she spotted brightly colored tents peeking through them. Nearing the clearing, the louder the sounds got and the more jumbled they were. For someone who was only used to the quite of the forest it was almost deafening and very disorienting. For Kerowyn there seemed to be an astronomical amount of people walking around the tents. The smells, while overwhelming were making her mouth water and her stomach reminded her that she had not eaten since she finished off the rabbit she had caught that morning.

Shrugging her equipment into a more comfortable position she gathered her courage around herself and continued on to the bright tent village full of happy people.

"Feather moon, scarlet sky...

Seven nodded, more to herself than to Esper, and stayed quiet for a minute. She was watching Di approach Lawrence. The merchant was --which she thought was odd--and his challenger was dressed rather eccentrically. Perhaps she would pose more of a challenge than the rest.

She looked back at Esper, then, thinking over his question. "I think there's only one or two people after this fight, and if there aren't anymore challengers afterward, Orso will be stepping in to try his lot. Unless someone actually wins, of course.
At that, she motioned to the dark brooding man with the sword neatly tucked to his side.

((God edit cause sleepy Seven.))

Most of the people were gathered around a tall raven haired man and a tiny oddly dressed woman. The air sizzled with anticipation over what was going to occur. Curiosity weighed in with anxiousness at the large crowd, curiosity won. The chance to study such a large group of town people was priceless.

They were odd people. Most talking in loud voices that would have announced their presence in the forest quickly. The clothes they were wearing were also impractical for forest living, most would rip and tear to shreds the first time they had to navigate through thick brush.

They wouldn’t last one day in the forest like this! she though disdainfully, There is no way that they live in the forest. The more she watched them the more she realized this was true. When people left this colorful tent village they did not make their way into the forest, but rather up a path to larger square shadows in the distance.

As she studied the difference between the colorful tent village and the square shadows, the stories her father had told her finally gave her the clue as to what was occurring. This is a festival. The people's dress and attitudes made sense now. He used to tell me how they would set up a village of color and wonderment for all to enjoy and revel in, but that it was only temporary. Those squares must be the actual village of Semblance he told me so much about.

She reached under her cloak and held the locket around her neck tight for a moment. Mother, I’m finally here.

It was almost suffocating to weave her way through the crowd, but she finally found an empty corner with a good view of the man and the woman that everyone’s attention was drawn to.
